wut good ending
just fail r8e2 on purpose
that's the worst ending
clean worldline stays clean
I wonder if the merging worldlines would eventually lead to the virus coming to all the other clean universes anyways
wasn't there only a single clean universe
There are infinite clean universes
There are infinite infected universes
There are infinite universes with the ship crashed on earth
There are infinite universes without an earth at all
so there's universes where the infection doesn't even exist
Every action splits and makes two new universes
Yes, if you follow the branches from the point where it came into existence
and there's universes where SOMEHOW the group makes it through to the scientist group uninfected
Given infinity, there is an infinite number of universes where there is a cure for nam-v
There is an infinite number of universes where there is immunity to nam-v
There are infinite universes with an anti-nam-v.
We are a drop in an endless ocean.
is that possible tho
An ocean, the collectors explored.
not all infinities are the same size, no?
Earlier universes from earlier decisions would technically speaking be older and thus bigger
is immunity/cure etc even possible in any way
Newer branches from newer decisions would be smaller
Going all the way back to the big gang and particles flying left... or right and colliding... or not
The universe where you decided to make coffee instead of tea yesterday would be comparably smaller
Because it is just a branch on this already insanely huge tree
And your branch, will inevitably grow infinite more branches
But it is still a smaller branch compared to the ones before it
(Talking about worldline theory in quantum physics is such a mindfuck)
it is :(
Just... go watch the anime Steins;Gate
That one also uses a variant of worldline theory
that one just goes into the time travel aspect of it
nahhh not the time travel :(
Gtfo's mwp as far as we know can't go back in time, just between the branches at the same time
So at least that is something
Gtfo is still the mess, but it's a horizontal slice of the mess
yeah time travel (backwards) is the most impossible thing ever
not even considerable in any context
We just have an infinitely wide cross section (comparably tiny) to an infinitely tall tree
If you were trying to picture it.
So many branches on branches
It's like snowflakes. The deeper you look with a microscope the more it goes on and on and on...
even that has a limit tho
True
whats this? (R5A2)
It's an industry i think
the one that made HSU's if i remember correctly
The baby you carry in R2E1 has the name on it
as if ive been there lol
nah but ik what baby ur talking about i believe
Yes
Dreyfus industries is a megacorp that owns a SHIT TON OF STUFF.
think google irl
they own half the planet.
blackrock?
think it might be a better fit lol
ait
when Kovac moved their HQ into Garganta, it wasn't done via a deal with Santonian, it was through Dreyfus.
oh ok
Dreyfus Industries owns Santonian Strategic Investments Company, Santonian Mining Company, and Project Insight.
KOVAC (sometimes spelt KOVAK) owns Kovac Defense Services and Kovac Research.
Dreyfus might also own NYXOS, but that is not outright stated.
and does dreyfus own kovac or are they just "buddies" (think large corporations having a gentleman's agreement to not do stuff to gain money)
Dreyfus doesn't own KOVAC.
aight
KOVAC is a PMC (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_military_company), they had dirt on Santonian and bargained with their owners, Dreyfus.
in exchange for covering up the burning of the red cross workers and the hundreds of missing people after the Merida Earthquake, Kovac was granted an exclusive spot in Garganta
so KOVAC is like SAAB, lockheed martin etc?
yes...
ooooh ok, was bishop a part of this blackmail or was he independant actor?
KOVAC is a PMC that also owns a research company (KR)
(KOVAC research)
the hydrostasis tech was originally invented by Kovac Research.
and im guessing they had dauda?
after the red alpha fiasco, KOVAC repurposed this tech to create the legion program.
no, dauda was picked up by Project Insight.
he worked for Insight right up until the end.
oh ok
No. Bishop had blackmail on the CEO of Dreyfus (Davies) -- entirely separate, years before the Merida Quake.
im assuming then that the gargantua prison was like a thing before the legion program/kovac stepped foot in gargantua?
and that the legion program used the prisoners (cuz why not)
Garganta was built from the ground up as a mining facility, specifically to harvest Iridium.
KOVAC wanted a spot there presumably because it was super isolated and they could test new weapons away from prying eyes.
the labs and stuff weren't built until Santonian started uncovering alien artifacts and Dreyfus called Insight in to study it.
Garganta was never a prison.
oh
we are called "prisoners" for three reasons.
- we are stuck in the complex because of the lockdowns and because the surface is dead.
- we are literally prisoners within our own bodies, unable to resist the commands of the BIOCOM Network.
- most KSOs (woods) were originally US inmates (before they were kidnapped by KOVAC and turned into legionnaires)
"prisoners" is not an official term -- said anywhere. it is what the KSOs call themselves.
the Warden is their metaphorical Warden because it controls biocom, which controls them.
it's symbolic.
yea
in the OG R4A2 EBDT_01BE1.LOG is the disease mentioned to have effected the Myans Nam-V or just general disease?
Yes.
Yes to which one?
Yes it means nam-v.
nam-v.. v-nam... vietnam...
is this real

i cant wait for this channel to be read only
I hope speedrun channel gets brought down again
Silence, P*b.
the virgin desiring evil to others vs the chad wishing the best for others
Whoās who lol
Average speedrunner elitism
Dear GTFO community. Speedrunners in the GTFO community are undeniably skilled, but their opinions often reflect a hyper-optimized, elite mindset that doesnāt align with the broader player base. Their gameplay revolves around efficiency and exploits, not immersion, teamwork, or learning curve. As a result, they may dismiss mechanics or design choices that are crucial for casual or newer players. When developers or the community put too much weight on speedrunner feedback, it risks alienating those who play the game for tension, exploration, and challenge at a reasonable pace. GTFO already has a steep difficulty curve, and letting speedrunners shape the game further could turn it into an even more exclusive experience. While speedrunners have their place, their input shouldnāt outweigh the needs of the majority who just want a fair, enjoyable co-op experience.
- the games a STEALTH game (majority of it anyway), its literally on the store page
- They are extremely annoying in this community and tend to think their way of playing is what everyone wants
- They dont communicate with the team (majority of the time)
- Never had a good experience with one. I hate trying to play then having them join the lobby and absolutely carrying everyone without even talking
GTFO, developed by 10 Chambers, is a hardcore co-op FPS built around teamwork, strategy, and intense coordination. Unlike most shooters, GTFO isn't meant to be played solo or with a random groupāit's intentionally designed for four players, and that design choice touches every part of the experience.
The game's balance, difficulty, and objectives are all tuned for a four-person squad. Missions involve stealth, timed objectives, hacking, and overwhelming combat scenarios. With fewer than four players, you quickly lose access to critical tools like the Bio Tracker, C-Foam Launcher, sentries, and mines. Each tool plays a role in the team's survival, and without all four, youāre forced to compromise, leaving weaknesses that the gameās AI and level design punish brutally.
Enemies donāt scale down significantly with fewer players, making it harder to survive even routine encounters. Objectives often require synchronized scans, multitasking under pressure, or covering multiple points at onceāthings nearly impossible to pull off without a full team. The levels themselves expect you to divide and conquer while staying in constant communication.
GTFOās challenge is its main attraction. It's not a casual experience; it's a test of patience, skill, and teamwork. Playing with all four players isn't just idealāit's essential to experience the game the way the developers intended. Every success feels earned because it demands precision from every member of the squad.
In short, GTFO was built from the ground up for four players. Straying from that formula doesn't just make it harderāit breaks the gameās intended balance and removes the cooperative magic that makes it special.

Yes this message is completely serious
chat am i not loreing right :[
If any brand new player wants to be taught the basics of the gameplay mechanics and doesnāt wanna be carried feel free to dm me. I love teaching new players and I donāt like speedrunners nor do it myself so we will be playing slow paced when possible.
Not on as of rn but happy to find a time
Teach me how to play (Iām bad)
Someone give A2 the āR1 Sherpaā role šø
Bro is too lost in the Copypasta inseption
Cuh is the hater or speeds
If you want i can teach you how to gamble
š£ļøš„š£ļøš„š£ļøš„š£ļøš„š£ļø now we are talking
Guys why donāt we just bet at the high stakes betting? Itās a 50/50 if we win or not
absolutely
im gettin my lwayer it ok
u the passionist person of the community omg
if you were unaware, i didn't see it mentioned anywhere.
a couple of hours of lore talk with Viktor
i think bass takes the cake
the vod is up on twitch
or johnny be good
this is not mother an instrument does not do that
very passionate esp ingame
i was there for most of it. decent stuff.
i mean its fair enough in degrees. I haven't played in gameplay for quite some time, my influence is pretty much entirely confined to external resources like the wiki, for dummies docs, and general one-on-one information. there are tons of super passionate and infleuntial people in all different aspects of this game's community.
yeah i think johnny be good and bass are some of the most passionate people i've seen for a game
they make my ingame experience so much better whenever i play with them
its great
i remember back when i played a lot, there were a couple people i'd routinely see in LFGs pretty much exclusively playing in beginner lobbies and trying to help out.
i wish it could be me
i've recognized a few different faces on the reddit too (some from here), that help out in posts.
get gud PUB
its not gettin good its geforce
sounds like a skill issue
i mean to be fair, my pc has always had this wierd thing with GTFO where it was always so fucking slow to boot up and had stutters constantly threatening to crash -- for the first minute or so after bootup, then it was smooth as butter.
it was one of the reasons why i stopped playing
do you have it on a SSD?
i have a hard drive. my pc hasn't really had an upgrade since 2020.
i mean even if it lags it would beee enough for me to just play and rley on others shooting or our tools but its that one hour limit and like 50 years booting back up
and yet i still keep fucking playing kmdkm
ah okay
god i love this game and i shouldnt
yeah the game takes ages to laod on a HDD
mostly i only really ever play either old or indie games. i spend a lot of time offline playing D&D as well.
stuff like that doesn't really require much in terms of performance.
i was considering buying a steam deck for a while
i only play gtfo for 16 hours a day and then sleep for 8 hours
and then in a year ill go back to wizard101 and do the same thing with that game
that is a very fucking old reference. is that mmo even still alive?
i'd never played it, but i know it was rediculously massive back when i was in middle and high school
its my most played game by far probably
its cool how it still gets constant and massive updates
they've never really died down
there are some games like that.
before i got into gtfo, back around 2018, i played a shit ton of Guns of Icarus Alliance, a pseudo-mmo, and its playerbase was honestly way smaller than gtfo is, even now with something like 20-30 active users at any time (in an mmo), and that game still had consistent updates until i wanna say around 2020.
another game sorta like that was War for the Overworld, a Dungeonkeeper spiritual successor
i feel really old talking about games sometimes
Yea maybe the PC slow for first min problem could be solved with putting the OS on an SSD
Arenāt you like⦠20?
24 this year...
A lot of the games i play today are stuff that released when I was a kid. Usually a decade or more ago
Stuff that's been dead a long time
fairs
Alright then
most games i play are kinda newish, i like newer graphics tbh
Did you manage to figure something out?
I want to first know what manipulations or processes youāve gone throughāown analysis
for the audio
Personally I haven't done much. I ran it through audacity to view the contents in spectrogram.
A bunch of people were doing stuff like slowing it down and speeding it up, trying to clean the audio, etc
I think at one point we found something that might have been morse hidden in there... but I don't know.
It's been a long time since anyone really put effort into cracking it
Alright thanks
What I can confirm is that the file itself does contain interesting parts as well as the audio
Furthermore I canāt go into much detail with what I have, so I canāt deduce anything yet nor confirm anything
A couple people this past year have wanted too look into it, but none really ever came back with anything.
Iāll have to pickaxe my way in to finding this out
...Where did you find that message btw?
I know it isn't pinned. It was one of the questions for the stream, but it wasn't asked iirc
I keep data
Vague and omonous... okay.
As well as tabs on certain tasks, ventures and persons
⦠should I be scaredš
No
Something that came up during the stream that I do want to clarify on: we know the sleepers aren't zombies verifiably --thanks to one of dauda's research logs
The humans while no longer in control of their bodies, are still in there to some extent
Strikers and the like with significant or complete brain damage likely aren't to any significant degree,
But thinking of stuff like shooters, hybrids, and especially moms... the hosts are still in there
Conscious as what's happening is happening
If they can hear / smell / see is a matter of debate from the specific mutations the parasite had conducted on their bodies (specifically their heads), but they should be conscious in most cases
thats fucking horrifying to think about
I've talked quite a lot about this on reddit, regarding the mothers
Mothers are two different hosts fused together. A female, and a vestigial male, sort of like an angler fish -- entirely used for reproductive purposes
Imagine the point of view of the female host
the sadness aa monsters
Growing dozens of babies, having them eaten and turned by parasites while still in your womb, birthing them all in a matter of seconds, then growing a new batch like a second wave to deploy shortly thereafter
From alt://r5: The suffering we inflict on these creatures is unconscionable. Whatever they are, they already exist in perpetual torment without the violence we perpetrate upon them.
"They already exist in perpetual Torment without the violence we perpetrate upon them"
Were this already not confirmed years ago via 10cc press statements, that would be damning on its own.
Sleepers aren't zombies or aliens (The press statement)
They are people
Suffering, miserable people
Kept alive by the symbiotic pairing of the parasite and the virus for thousands if not millions of years
Think about the 16th century mayans. Any who ventured into the caves to fight against the sleepers and didn't return, they are likely still infected to this day and "alive"
The devs could have explored that if we ever went to the vessel and encountered ancient human sleepers
So we get to put them outta their misery
Think about the floaters and destination fauna... while they aren't human, they've been infected for BILLIONS OF YEARS
Yes.
Uh... I remember Viola logs. Uh
Voila logs?
Few audio logs about woman named "Viola" who most likely were the first Mother
I don't have actual numera for logs atm
Ahhhh I think I know what you mean from alt.
Yeah
I'm on my phone rn so can't use the search function, but that audio log was truly horrifying
Listening in real time as the parasite begins to influence the host
It was. Especially second one when she tried to ||cut the baby out or something||
I don't know that she turned into a mother--but I know she was turning into a sleeper
Oh? Maybe then
Are there players who don't think they're mutated people?
Or was it the third? I don't remember
I've gotta go look into it in a bit then
Not mutated people, but that the people were still in there.
Yesterday during the stream the players had apparently thought that they were reanimated
Then again it seemed they were unaware of the difference between nam-v and the parasite, with BOTH being required to make sleepers, not just nam-v
i'm pretty sure they know, likely that being away for a while made them mince their words a bit/forget the fine detail
They were most likely thinking of the daylight mission logs where they were fighting the red variants on the surface near garganta
If I had to guess
Found it - R7Y-PWM-539
||There's that noise again. Almost by my ear, like a mosquito. I thought it would disappear now that... I mean, I lost it. There's blood on the sheets. I woke up and there it was... but the smell! Like death. Good riddance. John is going to be devastated. Mmm. Pathetic, of course. Hell awaits me, but I'll gladly burn before mothering that little freak. Never felt so disgusting, ever. And now... what? That thing is just dead in there? It's been too long... I need to take it out. I thinkā It's... what is this? Flesh? Is it the fetus? It must be... Yeah... yeah. It's coming out. Good. Easy.||
But to be clear,
The virus always kills you. It is an omnipotent force of nature. In every universe it has appeared, it has eventually killed all life.
The parasite has a symbiotic relationship with the virus.
Together, the virus makes the parasite immortal.
The virus kills and kills and kills... and runs out of food
The immortal parasites and their hosts are a bottomless fuel tank for the virus
That is how they are symbiotic
Ok but how do they get energy
They defy the laws of physics. We don't have an answer.
I agree with you though... realistically they shouldn't just be able to have infinite energy and just live forever, but they do... so...
You would hope so... but r6 threw a monkey wrench in that machine
The floaters... durant's expedition mentioned them being active from the day they got there
Destination hasn't had life in billions of years and the floaters weren't hibernating
So they'd just been floating around expending energy hunting for billions of years without food
My only thought is they photosynthesize
The meatballs go to the surface, photosynthesize, then come down and feed the rest of the sleepers
Floaters didn't get to earth until r6b1 when we leave the warp tether open...
Before that as far as we know it is only human infected, collector infected, and whatever other species are on the vessel
For 65 million years
Also for large stretches of time the vessel was cut off from the surface. They make a point that the earthquakes along the Merida faultline are what gives it temporary access to the surface world
That is why/when the mayans encountered it
And again with the red cross and such in the 21st century
when schaeffer describes how madoxs body got taken that was by a snatcher right?
which?
r7b1. at the very end.
its funny he tells you to "watch out" yet the creature isn't introduced until c1
yea i was a bit confused but oh well, already killed one so
is it right after "schaeffer out"?
wdym?
the unique sfx
no? i meant you hear sound effects unique to the snatcher
not that this log has unique sfx
oooooh
i thought you meant at the very end of the mp3 file lol
not the footsteps or whatever
@eternal talon Are the logs listed in the ARCHIVE002-7 catigories on the wiki consitered to be ALT or OG timeline?
if we contracted the parasite and went into a HSU would the parasite die?
they would be original worldline. the santonian industries website hadn't been updated since at least ogr7 before it was taken down. if memory serves, those archives should just be identical to the logs in the base rundowns so i'm not sure why they'd have their own listings on the wiki. as to the exclusive santonian industries logs, iirc 99% were in the corrupted folder, released just before or just after a rundown came out.
yes, but any damage up to that point would remain. if it tore a hole through your skin you'd still be profusely bleeding.
Oh ok, would this eventually kill us or would the HSU somehow keep us āaliveā until we were woken up again?
we in hydrostasis we are dead--i figure if you put someone actively dying in, it'd just fail to reanimate them later on
Fair
Wanted to clarify because all but a few logs are the same on there with the addition of some state of truth logs
is there any specific reason the parasite makes a victim into a scout?
None that we know. Why the parasite chooses how to mutate its hosts is... unknown to us. Mirky at best.
We can only make assumptions based on observation
That being; probably something related to the host body's physical makeup prior to infection, or some desperate need in the hive.
There are different subspecies of parasite... that could play a role too.
Oh ok
do the prisoners have lore based loadouts?
They have some weapons
Woods - Carbine, sledgehammer, mine deployer
Dauda - Mual and Slug shot gun
Hackett - Sledgehammer, Revolver, Bio
Bishop - Maul and Heavy AR
etc
dauda? slug shotgun? in r5?
thats more of an unused gun
I think it was just for promotional art for the rundown
It could be a different gun but they look like they match up
Better imagine
Looks like itās using the MG stock and HEL gun sight
Better imagine of woods and hackett with their guns
Hacket on bio seems fitting
Its funny if you think about it. This might of been thier loadout through each rundown
and they got shit done with it
Minus Bishop in the R4 EXT Promo art
And I can barely win with the best loadouts lol
Bulit Diff
yea lol
guys i need some lore help QUICK
where is schaeffers whiteboard in r6cx
$100000000 to first person to help me
L
How tall are the prisoners? I am making a project and I must know their proportions.
we uh dont know
u could probably meaasure it via the sniper and its sight along with thee cube distance of the map
but
aa
if you ignore the broken hand rig and some material issues on the pants, this is how tall they are in Blender
195CM or 6'4 in freedom units
198.8CM or 6'5 to be more precise
I donāt think the hands are supposed to do that lol
Tall bois icl
very
For a super soldier? I'm not surprised
They seem short in game but that could just be pov
Ty
yeh cuz the camera seeems to be on top of the player
letās just say thereās some shader magic⨠going on in gtfo first person pov
Brute force methods have lead to dead ends
unfortunate
Are the Dr. Stokes audios considered logs?
yes
well in thee alts they are logs
like straight up
but in OG r6 the audios were transcribed to the wiki as logs
Any kind of Lore related text or audio I consider to be a "log", regardless of format.
As sledo said, in OG they were played over the facility intercoms. In alt://, due to the community not wanting the lore "shoved down their throats", 10cc either removed or converted them into traditional terminal logs.
āShoved down their throatsā - two guys who complained the loudest
hey, don't shoot the messenger, as far as i know that is the reason.
people felt that the story slowed down the gameplay
particularly on door scans
Yea ik lol
Just hyperbolic about what probably happened
Door scans might be fair enough but atp do them like during gameplay (like looting) or sum
Dr stokes was having a stroke
Whatās the lore behind R8A2
?
Because it said at the end āthank you for your sacrificeā
Team accidentally getting TPd into a Freaky Tutorial Mission and die
The Bad ending, both OG and Alt Team dying
Damn ok
freaky ahh level
What is the deal behind those audio logs with the woman talking about a John and a child? I must have missed some cause it does not make any sense to me
not Schaeffer. different john.
basically the first mother variant iirc.
oh god that is terrible
see previous conversation on sleeper physiology
its worse than terrible.
its nightmare fuel.
this game's lore is just amazing
i've been addicted to Zenless Zone Zero
yes, i'm sure we've all played genshin back in the day to know their reputation
but zenless is like... unironically extremely generous
that, and its like anime DMC
i dont play gachas lol
Want to know something funny?
ZZZ isn't even as generous as other gacha games
Btw
PGR is having a DMC collab
i mean i've gotten over a hundred free pulls in just a couple days...
They straight up added Dante and Vergil + all of their movesets from DMC 5
A lot of Gacha games do that and way more
That how they hook the player to the game
x to doubt. i've played other gachas
besides, the gameplay is fire
been playing it f2p for about a week
Yes, I used to play Genshin a lot

Don't fall into the dynamic gacha scam
The more you play the less chances you have to obtaining the limited characters
Yes, that's a thing, yes it's illegal, do they care? No
why are you trying so hard to get me to stop playing lol? i just find it fun.
I play gacha games too
But I don't want to see you fall into the "scam" (like I see a lot of people do and I also did)
...i'm top 500 NA on hearthstone. i've got money sinks elsewhere lol
Yeah that's true LOL

How like realistic is the āLISTā and āQUERYā cmds to real life?
Would one be able to use it like theyāve used them?
List Zone_Living_Room
šš
Ping House_Key_69
Unless every Pack Has a tracker built in, i dont think it is that realistic
Nah but if something had like a microchip which had the ID āphone_[whatever]ā could one use āQUERY PHONE_[whatever] to find information packets from this microchip
Bruh I hate discords formatting
Doesn't apple have those air tag things?
so like, the terminal itself is just a command line interface. like, that exists. on your computer. the way it's implimented is conveinent to the game yeah, but like. a CLI is generally gonna be way less accessable than a GUI. example, yeah apple air tags
Aight so it could work like that irl?
Cli is so eazy tho, its just textš š
And Iām guessing the trackers you put on stuff can have like a folder with updating stats on it to simulate a query command?
it's uh. i mean, the scope of what you're describing is pretty significant
Nah, i imagin the servers know what room something is in, the trackers just say where they are
If you ping them it shows the amount left
Mb shouldāve said ping
command line parsing is like a second year systems programming assignment in uni, that's like. lowercase F fine, doable in an afternoon for someone knowedgable, doable in like, two weeks if you've forgotten most of it (me).
assuming you have that, you'd need a way to know where something is, and what room corresponds to that where, which is either very simple or very hard depending on like, what solutions are available for that on the market and if those solutions are open source
Probs just writen down somewhere, like how hospitals track there stock of controled substances
As in Iām just theorizing, Iām not gonna do it myself lol
š§¢
Yea but like if you use it it goes down without like āconnectingā somewhere
Im in collage brošš
Probs gameplay thingsš¤·āāļø
collage
they're a picture
Yea Iām in a picturebook whataboutit?
We could have a Bluetooth thingy which syncs with servers to update it
And that might also be why we see it in our hud
Its probs just a weight thing tbh, if you know the weight of whats jnside it you know how much you have next
but basically if you're jerryrigging a similar system you'd essentially need three devices that can ping [whatever you're trying to keep track of], use that delay to calculate a distance, use that distance as a radius, which gives you a point between all three devices
which is like. just GPS
Wouldnt you have to place it down in a specific way?
Im not lol, just asking cuz curiosity
Idkš¤·āāļø
GPS is a wonderful thing
i mean, also the in game functionality isn't as robust. any resources that are moved and placed aren't trackable by the terminal
You have to requery no?
afaik if you swap something out it doesn't show up on query?
Wuuuut
yeah its a bug
Wuuuuuuut
you can ping something not in your zone
This game is bugfree š
I thought that it just removed the terminal entry for an item once its picked up, but admittedly i've not fiddled around with the game to really know the behavior all that well
it hasn't come up and when it has, it's been on a time crunch
Weird ahh game
but like that also means that if we were making a (more or less) 1-1 port of this jank CLI then the implimentation of uses is actually super easy
because resource uses are defined at declaration and then cease to matter when the thing is picked up
basically, think of an ammo pack. an ammo pack does something: Refill your ammo, and has properties: the number of uses
Yea
all ammo packs have the same uses. ALL of them refill your ammo, so we don't really care about that from once instance of ammo to another. it's consistant
but if we were to create a new ammo pack, we would have to define how many uses it has
so if we manifested an ammo pack into your house that you could ping off of your very real real life GTFO terminal, it would say...
Ammopack_696
with [3] number of uses. But if you picked it up, because the entry disappears from the terminal (in observed practice), then there's really no need to update the terminal entry if you use it once
because like. if you can't ping it then obviously querying the number of uses from the terminal isn't even possible
Heh nice
Fair
anyways welcome to object oriented programming
This is some nerd shitš š š£
depending on what language your uni classes make you learn, object oriented programming can either be pretty whatever or kind of an annoying nightmare
my uni made me learn it in python. which. uh. wasn't designed for it.
Swedish
(joking)
Also still in a picturebook
Also not taking programming in uni hopefully (itās gonna be a bunch of programming)
well, hopefully your uni doesnt hate you and make you use C
yeah "I hope you like terminating EVERY array with a special character and if you don't you've fucked up big time" C
Im gonna do automation engineering
RIP
Unfortunate ig
i mean, i say rip. i think every time i took a microprocessors or microcontrollers class they used some version of C+
which isnt that bad
All I know is ima be setting up robots in factories
Which is gonna be a pain I feel like
You are about to become a really valuable person career wise very very soon
if you wanna be a fuckin wizard at that stuff ML is great to learn
it's also fucking inscruitable and a severe pain in the ass
I know lolšškinda happy kinda sad
So Iāve heard lol, kinda like raising ur own child
But also Iām done with my education in like minimum 7 years, a lot can happen
people that know ML scare me. the dude that learned how to perform ACE in paper mario by reverse engineering N64 machine language is the one dude i don't want to cross
going for a masters?

Like unironically idk how the education system works here
Im just choosing and going along with it
That one coding guy on YouTube I used to watch, the TV head guy
"fuck it, we ball" mentality
I am somehow
Doing exactly the same thing with national tests here in Sweden
(People make them out as a big deal they arenāt super important if you already perform)
Like if ur right in the middle of a C with a nice teacher and an A in the nationals you can get B
And I have good enough to go engineering
For now
Just checked my grades, am doing a bit better than I thought lol
I have 11 years left of education/residency to look forward to. yayā¦
idk what ill have after uni

could this be an early stage mother? (R8B1)
and could this be an even earlier stage mother?
or later
#wiki-chat message this for more "proof"
That seems more like a rotten cocoon
theres one in the room of the first alarm that looks more like so
yea ik, just took that cuz i hadnt gotten to that part yet
Like my arguments for it being a mom is that the other host gets turned into a tumor, it has the same shape of a mom, you can almost even see the āheadā of the second host in the tumors
I wonder what @eternal talon has to say about it
i honestly can't say... it resembles a respawn coccoon more than a mother, though.

This is just a poorly made Alpha model that they decided to stick into the game
has it really been in the game this long?
And by extension, are there others
I'm around, but I stopped being active on GTFO srv because I stopped playing the game and I stopped playing the game due to burnout. I also want to say dw I'm not hacked or botted. š š š¤£
i dont think u can get ur acc stolen just from a friend req lol
u would need to have clicked on something they sent u afterwards AND accept a discord acc link verification thing
waiting for questions.
i still check this channel daily.
just nothing really to say.
what's your favorite prisoner
in terms of?
personality, lore/writing, character design, etc?
whatever you think is the best
think DoW lore is something you'll get into?
probably dauda.
not at all, really.
why?
ya DoW seems boring
i like bot d0cr3d

if it ends up having ties or easter eggs to gtfo, i'll probably look into those from an outsider's pov, but heist games aren't really my thing.
mainly because of his history. his past and its implications are fucked up and dense enough you could write a novel entirely centered around him and his experience leading up to the collapse of garganta and him entering hydrostasis

what's your most and least favorite parts of the lore
though it never really got development, i love thoughts and theories around how the ancient mayans would combat a sleeper infestation, and still think it'd make a great spinoff.
in terms of least favorite, i really don't like how rushed r8 feels. it has big implications, but none of it is left to simmer, and ultimately, we were left with a bad ending.
i tried putting all the logs in order to make a concept video of all of them in order, and i uh gave up mid r4
schaeffer suddenly turning bad makes me sad :[
he was a crazy goofball and in a2 he just "ok i wanna kill my partner now!"
like huh
henriksson was built up as an important side-character in r7, then in r8 he is just killed offscreen with zero dialogue.
oh fr that would be such a cool game
he really was just a tool of the story, killed to just make schaeffer seem bad ah ohh scary
like- he needed him????
like really badly?? he knew how to operate things?
something vaguely Predator (1987) coded.
the ancient mayans in the 16th century managed to beat back and draw with something modern 21st century humanity got completely wiped out to.
#BuiltDifferent
wasnt it with magic or sum like that?
in the 16th century huh wuh
no. we have no idea how -- just that they did
because the planet didn't go extinct...
well it did, just a few years after
in lore, the parasite and the virus is responsible for the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classic_Maya_collapse
In archaeology, the classic Maya collapse was the destabilization of Classic Maya civilization and the violent collapse and abandonment of many southern lowlands city-states between the 7th and 9th centuries CE. Not all Mayan city-states collapsed, but there was a period of instability for the cities that survived. At Ceibal, the Preclassic Maya...
not just a few years.

**The team uncovered ancient Mayan records of several earthquakes in the region, with the most recent one being in the mid 13th century.
Researchers at the Lamanai project studied scores of tablet inscriptions from their extensive library and discovered reference to a series of catastrophic population declines that occurred in the Yucatan between 800 and 1300 CE. Until the Merida quake, these population fluctuations were assumed to be related to the frequent outbreaks of disease in the region. **

Yo what did they do to codevein?
no.
ok
this isn't code vein. also, that game is great.
shame it never got a sequel
I think scarlet nexus is the successor to the game
Iirc it is a different universe. Code vein is set in the god eater universe.
Scarlet nexus mentioned
Absolute peak
(too much dialogue but still peak)
Iizuka: Scarlet Nexus is a completely independent title with a different world and setting from Code Vein and God Eater so the gameplay and story will be original and different from the two games.
is it canon that prisoners do PE for all applicable levels
I figured R8A2 Sec had to be some kind of dream/nightmare sequence
a2 sec isnt cannon?
i thought it was nightmare timeline
R8A1 and R8A2 take place at the same time, but the code is from R8B2 Main and Sec
there's no way for the Original Team to have the code
Isnāt that the reason itās called nightmare team?
never heard anything about a Nightmare Team
(it's not listed on the Wiki; Story or Lore pages at all)
According to the Dual Reality Theory, there are two different worldlines or variants of the story set in parallel universes. The original worldline represents the game's early access' Rundowns and the alternate worldline corresponds to the "replacement" Rundowns (ALT://) from the game's final version. The original worldline's prisoners and Schaeffer succeed to rebel against the Warden and defeat him. Their alternate worldline's equivalents learn about the Collectors and seek to escape to a safe dimension ("clean membrane"), untouched by Sleeper infestation. In Rundown 8.0, the alternate group of Prisoners and alternate Schaeffer travel to the original worldline, where the Warden was destroyed but their doubles still present. To escape, the two teams of characters have to interact with each other.
This is what is present on wiki
I don't think this is wholly correct either-- and should be updated. In R8D1 you can encounter another dead team of Woods, Dauda, Hackett, and Bishop
Thereās some like map I saw of āOG teamā āALT teamā and ānightmare teamā
Lemme see if I can find it
R8A2 sec is basically a "what if"
"what if our characters took the wrong turn"
"in rundown 8 the alternate group of prisioners and alternate Schaefer travel to the original worldline"
That is not what happens tho
Who wrote that š¤
Oh yea just found this quote form a moderator
makes sense. I'm glad it exists, R8A2 Sec is really cool
Fav mission
sole contributor to this page up to this point is RefFoxtrot
ALT team doesn't travel to OG worldline
Rundown 8 is made of a bunch of worldlines
We know this because of the other dead teams and the funny geometry
Isnāt it a bunch fused together?
Yes
that's how I interpreted it, a bunch fused together
That is basically what they show
R8B2 Sec is probably the biggest contributor to this front
you get to hear other teams in the distance
this should be the correct link in reference to the page I excerpted from
There's 3(technically 4) pages on the Lore right now
https://gtfo.wiki.gg/wiki/Lore
https://gtfo.wiki.gg/wiki/Understanding_the_lore_of_GTFO
https://gtfo.wiki.gg/wiki/Worldlines
https://gtfo.wiki.gg/wiki/Timeline
The events of GTFO are viewed through the experiences of Prisoners; a group of four prisoners (a quad) who undertake a series of expeditions throughout The Complex infested by strange lifeforms referred to as Sleepers. Before and between expeditions, prisoners are suspended in Hydro-Stasis Units (HSUs...
This article details the commonly-understood approach to understanding the events, timeline and lore of GTFO with the goal of uncovering a cohesive end-to-end narrative ā although inconsistencies do exist. The information contained on the wiki follows the below guidelines:
Worldlines, as it is known colloquially, or Timelines more commonly, refers to the two main realities present within the main story of GTFO. The terms are used interchangeably. Conceivably, the story of GTFO spans many wordlines, the two which are most present are:
The original timeline, which concerns all of the lore contained within the origi...
This is a timeline of all of the logs and relevant information from GTFO, for ease of working out what happened when.
A few pointers on how to use the timeline.
Dates are all in UTC format (YYYY-MM-DD)
Dates with "?" are unknown either due to terminal corruption or a lack of an included date.
If multiple levels are included, this is usually b...
To make this mix of lore pages spicier, "Timelines" redirects to Worldlines page and not the Timeline page, which is related to a chronology of the lore logs
Here are my initial thoughts:
-Delete the current Timeline page in its entirety, add "Timeline" as a redirect to the Worldlines page, which already has a "Timelines" redirect
-Lore and Understanding the Lore of GTFO should be condensed into 1 page, deleting Understanding the Lore of GTFO page and just having it all on the Lore page in a re-organized fashion```
That way we're only looking at 2 (technically 3) remaining pages still with all of the info (and corrected information based upon newer discoveries):
-Lore page
-Worldlines page
-Logs page (adding the contents of Timeline to it with a spoiler dropdown)
because right now, I just see this as page bloat and it's making it rather difficult to easily access the lore, and there are events that need updating
going to page @vestal delta to review posed changes before I do any of that since I believe he's the only one with the admin authority to delete pages and remove redirect bloat. I would put this in #wiki-chat and can move there about it
That sounds like a pretty good idea
gtfo tag š„ŗ
we dont have access to that feature yet
OK, I'll get to it later today, and will inform once I do have that all in order. Cleanup on exact events can come after content is moved
As someone who went through the gtfo wiki to try and understand the lore, I thank you for your service.
yep, still have a lot of pending changes; still on it. will notify
Was just editing the R6C3 page for that article's intial cleanup
I've watched multiple videos and still have no idea

They die and crash to earth

Millions of years later
Mayans fight sleepers and die
Thousands of years later an earthquake happens in Mexico
Greedy company goes to mine
Find alien space ship
Find virus
Virus breaks out
I prefer calling Nam-V the nahvi (from avatar)
Okay but good luck explaining what the warden wants and the ending
The ending is easy to explain
The OG team betrays ALT team and goes to the clean worldline, which is the same worldline ALT Durant arrived during the EF-01 expedition
Oh and there's probably another Bishop in there
Lol
did they bring the virus with them? (seems likely) If so, why did the Warden/collector, send them there.
Why does Garganta (or at least some secure facility) exist in the same location in this wordline if it's "clean" of the virus? (suggests the alien ship still exists in this wordline)
What does the collecter mean by impure, why are they collecting the virus, and what does that mean?
The collection being incomplete suggests something is either missing or wrong (impure collection). What is it?
The ending leaves a lot of questions that have implications on what the Warden's objective is. It clearly doesn't care about saving lives, so why did it send the one team to a "clean membrane".
1st: The Warden didn't sent us there, we arrived there (The Warden only gave ALT Schaeffer the info he needed and that's it), Project Insight explored different worldline both Destination and Jungle dimension where in the worldlines they saw.
We used the MWP, data cubes and the data from Insight to go there
2: Garganta doesnt exist in Jungle dimension, when we activated the MWP we also teleported a part of KDS Deep with us (is really likely we also brought the virus with us since Nam-V is a bitch to deal with)
3rd: is possible the collectors are collecting/saving different species from worldlines affected by Nam-V either to save them or search for a cure
4th: same as 3rd + the "impure" collecting could be something/someone infected
5th: is pretty much answered by some of the points above
Don't rely on videos. Most are extremely out of date, are missing information, or are misinformation.
Read the two "lore for dummies" documents in the pins of this channel
i have to actually effort in?
/j
We can't because we don't know. The game never tells us. We can Infer from several possibilities, but it was left unknown.
I know the general populous is growing increasingly illiterate, but yes, you have to read
i will tomorrow, just chilling grinding bo4 cos i can
As for the ending, it is fairly simple, but relies on information from logs. In the original worldline, durant and the ef01 expedition went to destination. In the alt:// worldline, durant and ef01 went to this unknown jungle worldline. It just so happens that they left the complex right before the nam-v outbreak took over, and given the surface is pretty much dead... making them possibly the last living humans. (At least in the series of worldlines that we explore)
R8e2 is us using data from project insight (that ef01 was a part of) to warp ourselves to this clean jungle worldline. Unfortunately, it is far more likely than not that in doing so, we brought nam-v with us, thus dooming this worldline to suffer the same fate as all the others.
Ah, I see now from scrolling down that pable had already explained it well.
Wasnāt there a video a guy made, that was just wrong?
Roanoke?
The "I'm just saying what I see, completely ignoring official sources and lore" guy
^
lmao
I commented on both the original video and the sequel. He responded then deleted both comments within the span of roughly 20 minutes.
roanoke is the kind of guy that says: "i have a biology degree and you dont"
(i think he said that in a couple videos)
*X:XX is incorrect., we know Y is Z because XXXX-XXXX log in RYXZ says "X"
no
"the comparison between earth flora/fauna and this planet's likely doesn't fall in the same category."
if you're talking about biological feasibility as it stands in the current world then maybe he has a point
but the entire point of the sci-fi game is that it is science fiction and parts do not reflect reality
he claims nam-v and parasitidae garganta are a singular fungus.
there is no symbiotic relationship, no virus, no parasite. a fungus.
an alien fungus.
like the last of us
time to get the clotrimazole...
his videos covering movies generally aren't that bad, but he just refuses to admit he is wrong when there is evidence refuting his claims.
nam-v seems to be a bit selective, for example it doesnt appear to target plants
since some of the facility was brought with them on the teleport, if its still working, i think it may be possible for them to control the virus brought over and disinfect
the amount brought over to the fresh dimension should be very little, and we know that the virus will die if the host is in cryostasis
problem is: 99%, we are carrying it.
and, we straight up ripped that section of KDS-DEEP out of the walls to drag it with us
we didn't take the reactor
none of them would have power, and wouldn't be able to work.
oof
yea if no way to enter cryostasis thers no way to control the virus
we know it spreads thru liquid and air, and we were just spraying blood and guts everywhere right before the teleport, so theres no way it didnt get carried over
who was that researcher that talks to u at the end? didnt he get stuck there like years before? how did he survive?
I believe that was Durant unsure though
it is durant, yeah.
in OG, he/ef01 went to destination and everyone except for bishop died.
in ALT, he/ef01 went to the jungle planet and nobody returned.
(alt bishop isn't alt bishop)
we don't know where alt bishop came from.
some other worldline--unknown
h huh why
i thought durant was in the jungle planet for years, how did he survive there?
durant and the team probs went with a lot of resources plus the land seems to be habitable
maybe he had some disinfection equipment
i meant specifically survive from the virus
by the time the tests were going, nam-v was just starting to infect garganta
plus a lot of the Insight wing was very closed off
they knew a lot of how to evade the virus
hammerstein survived several years testing sleepers
if they do have some way of isolating, and if they can also build a generator to power some of the HSUs that was teleported over, then there is a chance they can kill off the virus
maybe the traps durant talked about were set in case of this happening and it was sleepers that teleported instead of people
Huh
Good luck trying to power up 10k~ ish HSUs with nothing but scraps
considering how we can turn off the lights or visit zones without energy and still find functional hsus
they can probably work on their own
hmmmm
maybe after HSU is initiated it doesnt take much to maintain
but they should only need 4, for the 4 survivors
they would be the only ones that are infected
maybe u can just use em by urself as dauda or schaeffer did
we were like 1000 people at some point in history we can do it again
if what slendo says is right they technically dont need any they can just kill the 4 survivors to get rid of the virus and resucitate the HSUs that got teleported
1000 monkeys*
nono humans
ice age kdmsk
but 4 HSUs would be needed to kill the virus without killing any more humans
Yeaaaaah good luck to everything else outside
We know what happened to Destination
This won't be any different
:b
Collectors would like to disagree
A highly advanced civilisation, more than us, capable of multiversal travel wasn't able to do anything against them
We are nothing compared to them
collectors probably also lacked knowledge of nam-v and the parasite, and their symbiotic combination
do we know all of their civilization fell?? it was only 1 ship no?
i find it hard to believe that an entire multiverse traversing civilization would fall to a single virus, unless that virus is so strong that it appears in every universe (which from what we know is likely not true)
@glacial karma the collectors (as we know them) were exiles. their actual species, or civilization, or whatever would likely be infinitely more advanced than even them.
they just had their one ship.
ah ic
according to the collectors' dialogue via the coundit in alt://r6, they claim that every universe they've ever visited where the virus was present, that it has become the sole/primary life force of that universe.
**VOICE 2
We travel. We project. From before, and after, through the membranes.
VOICE 1
Membranes.
VOICE 2
Planes. Spheres. Phases. Dimensions. Universes. We travel, We collect. Through the membranes. We collect the virus. The Collection is impure.
VOICE 1
Did you "collect" those creatures?
VOICE 2
Yes. They are the Collection. They are impure. We have been in exile for 2-point zero-6-6-3-8-8-8-5-2 times 10 to the power 15 Seconds. We have been waiting.
VOICE 1
For what?
VOICE 2
In this membrane, a resolution has been determined.
VOICE 1
A resolution to what?
VOICE 2
Conclusion: the Collection cannot be completed. The virus is the primary life force of membranes in which it exists. All will become impure. In this membrane, and all we have traveled.
VOICE 1
This membrane? But, outside of this place, this facility, there may be people working on a cure--
VOICE 2
96.35% of humans in this membrane are impure. The virus is the primary life force. The humans must leave.
VOICE 1
How?
VOICE 2
A clean membrane will be determined. Humans will project, then destroy the Projector. The Collection will be complete.

was the morse code in alt r1d1 also in the og version?
in the og there was no morse code in that section
Yesnt
Morse Code was in OG R4B3 iirc
With a different message
what was the message
Hello
OG Shaeffer is Just shy i guess
Transcript: ā¦. . .-.. .-.. - - - (HELLO)
Someones still alive in deeper levels!
HI HOLE OFFICIONADOS... does anyone know if there's been an aggregate of info about the differences between the original vs ALT rundowns? curious about the mission differences but DEFINITELY the lore ones... (other than the fact that theres logs where there used to be none, AKA R1 etc... are logs the same or different in rundowns where the originals DID have logs...?)
There is some big differences
Some of them being:
EF-01 expedition is different in both timelines (this is BY FAR the most important thing in the game)
Dates of events are different
Characters interviews add more information of each individual characters
Schaeffer story is also different
Mr Truth story also plays slightly different
Gameplay wise ALT and OG are pretty much the same the only big difference is that the snatcher intro is R5A2 and not R7C1
@eternal talon knows a lot more I'm pretty sure
WHOA sickkk thank you!!!
you pretty much covered the main things.
most of the differences are relatively minor
--logs that are slightly reworded, dates, changed lightly.
its just important to know that ALT:// is a different universe than OG.
as Destination, is also a different universe.
and others.
they all have their differences.
is destination the same for alt and og?
or are there 2 destinations
There's an infinite amount of Destinations
The thing is
Another worldline team has probably visited OUR destination
The same way we went to visit another worldline Destination
Infinite amounts of the same camps, like Alpha Six
And, correct me if wrong:
Destination = desert
Alpha = the camps/outposts
Yep
There's 6 outpost and we only visit 3 of them
Or 4
I don't remember the exact number
R7C2 is Alpha Six
R6D1 is⦠Alpha Two?
Alpha one
R6D1 is Alpha one
R6DX/BX is Alpha three
R6B1/R7E1 is Alpha two
So yeah we visit 4
Cool
There are also outposts in levels R7B3, R6C1
Not only is there an outpost in R6C1 you can straight up see the Kraken (barely in the fog, but completely visible with thermal weaponry).
But for R7B3 I don't see an outpost, just a cavern
R6C1 is Alpha one
I was talking about the first teleporters R6C1. You can see the solar panel behind the map, so there's an outpost there.
Doors (R7B3)
Do these count? You cant even see these from the cavern I believe, they're blocked by rocks/crystals and dont lead to an outpost, and there are no solar panels or anything over the cliffs unlike R6C1
You can see the doors if you get up close. But maybe it's just a game convention to make enemies appear there
This. They are just made so that enemies can be spawned in small "rooms" behind them, instead of instantly appearing in the middle of the area
Sorry guys, new breakthrough. There is no lore
Donāt blur the name, I wanna talk to him

why do u do that
Got through a ton of wiki edits last night and into today, circling back to the lore migration
bro... people wanna starve to death like schaeffer
just eat people in HSUs
isnt jungle one of the better one?
Yes. That is where durant went in alt://.
yea cuz like you could prolly survive quite well there
I'm talking about a good vacation spot
me when i eat the sleeper banana
yea but like none of these got food except the jungle
KDS Deep has people
Destination has the spicy meatballs and big fish
Nightmare Dimension has spaghetti sleepers
destination has meatballs
ok got me on destination
meat......balls........
ill let that slide cuz ikea meatballs

so would i rather vacation in

B: an underground haunted house that stretches on for miles

Oh, didn't see that
Their new game DoW is in a different universe than both the GTFO universes
the secret R8E3 ARG was kinda crazy
At least I think so
yeah, a secret level that you can access by solving a code on the santonian website
Can i have it too
No
Why
the web site?
Anyways we trolling (afaik)
Aw man
I wish gtfo was less linear i guess
There's only one way to complete levels
Exploring is mostly meaningless
For quite a few levels yes, but there are several that you can complete differently and you'll get very different expierences depending on which you do, R4C3 and R5E1 being the first 2 that pop into my head.
Omg ClusterFuck
Omg ligma balls
R5E1 can either be a āpls get me out of fogā or āSpemdrummerā
At this point whatever they wanted to show us already appeared ingame
the santonian website?
i dont remember
its already solved i think
probably the funniest bit of lore seems to me that the ALT crew doesn't ever canonically encounter pablo
only OG crew
Who?š š
Pablo the immortal Tank
A special enemy that only spawns in R7E1 and R8A2
Is he an enemy you have to fight
Wdym not directly?
You don't have to kill him or shoot him
You just have to do stuff while he is with you
parallel play with pablo
but
is the pablo in brazil the same pablo as the one in the facility?
i think no
i think brazillian pablo is a different one
Yes
When we warp to Brazil in R7E1 EVERYONE else gets warped
The funky Matter wave collapse affects everyone in the area
That's why he is not in the complex once you return
And why he returns back when we activate the reactor
that means canonically the group killed everything except pablo both in the facility AND in brazil
hmmmm
Not in the facility
Just the general area they were in
