Spear is fine, very easy to kill bigs & scouts, also way easier to melee a flyer than other melee weapons.
to be fair, hammer is as easy on everything except scouts
again, also a choice of prefence. but just dont being a knife to certain levels

Only thing hel rev really sucks at are || mothers || for the || babies ||
Quite the opposite actually if you aim at the mouth
The penetration helps dealing with them quite easily
not as much as R4 HEL, but still good enough for most of them to be wiped out right after spawning
I think HEL revolver also one shots strikers with a headshot if you can get ~15% main dmg boost (assuming I'm mathematically applying the boost properly)
If you can't reliably land mostly headshots though (and can't coordinate to line up enemies for pen), sawed off shotgun is pretty hard to beat efficiency wise.
I'd not add boosters into this, but yes, DMR and hel rev become broken with boosters

heavy assault rifle is probably one of the worst options to take imo
the hel gun is amazing
but i do get why some people dont like it, if youre looking for a multi puropse weapon without a charge up mechanic use any of the shotguns except the scatter

HAR is absolutely worth consideration. The changes made to it have made it quite effective with dealing with the various enemy types in the game. The only thing it really struggles with is the boss classed enemies

They spawn in the same place every time (z280), so you get delayed waves from ones that are still running after you.

New player here: I've only gotten through A1 and B1 and went straight to C1 from there, raising a question: Can you outrun aggro'd enemies assuming there is no alarm?
e.g. After a distance and time, will monsters stop chasing you (assuming nothing can reaggro them after you escape)
its been quite some time since you could escape sleepers by travelling in a straight line.
Does LOS matter?
monsters will either change aggro or continue chasing you to the death, never give up.

No, but you can do the whole thing without getting infected
You have to kinda go out of your way to get infection
To remove the infection there is a ||terminal command you can input that filters the air|| itโs pretty far into the level

we play slow, having to redo the level would be a pain

hel revolver range has like around 10m of range so as u can imagine its alot less than just tickling it

can't speak of d-tier yet but back in r5, a3 overload was a turbine fest and the 15 minute heart-attack of b3.. .. ehhh.. .. so i agree on my part, kinda tame up to c3, fogwise.

theres two types of them, shooters and strikers
strikers are the tongue ones and they can survive with a missing head

using ur tools to reduce their numbers as much as possible, and shooting the ones that get through
if ur struggling to know when a striker is dead, a yellow hitmarker signifies a kill

You use tool to cull them, and your ammo to get rid of the rest.
for example, dmr can kill a striker with 1 headshot and 1 bodyshot, same thing with the hel revolver. but shooters die in one headshot with those

ive been testing different ones
i was not a fan of the malatak assault rifel (non rundown one)
it had good fire rate but horrible aim IMO and i felt like it didnt do much dmg wise
most main guns are like that, they are your ol'reliable and they have a massive ammo pool
ur special weapon is what u use to dish out the most damage, but they get half the ammo (but fill up twice as fast)

Revolver one-shots any shooter or striker (small ones) in the head. A full clip can get rid of a big striker as well. So, revolver is quite powerful.
It also has a good deal of bullets. The only problem is small dot ADS (which I can't use).
i dont mind reticles, i just need ammo and something that will do the trick efficiently lol
Dmr revo feels SO GOOD for hordes i agree. Only issue is big guys, i tend to like to pair it with hel gun or heavy ar/shotty depending on level

is there a comprehensive resource for the various tricks and shortcuts to using terminals? I tried the wiki, and while it helps there are definitely some things that are missing
what shortcuts do u mean
so like for list, when you enter 'list res 75' instead of 'list resources zone_75' it will list all resources in the current zone as well as adjacent zone(s)
and doing list res zone_75 specifies just the current zone
the list command filters in whatever u enter after it
even a simple e_75 will show everything in zone 75
because zon__e_75__

the terminal as a whole, not just the list command
list is the only command with this much depth to it

has anyone had issues with the terminal puzzle for d2 secondary? we were getting keys that didnt match anything in the logs
it was always the first log, never got past it
it only shows the first log until u enter the first code
me and the other guy even swapped terminals incase one of us was messing something up
yeah, couldnt get past the first code entry
last time i ran that mission we didnt have such an issue
but i did get a weird bug in b2 secondary where only the host could progress the terminal, everyone else was getting random codes
they counted on our screen, but even after entering all of them, the waves didnt stop
they only stopped after the host did them
i think it may have had something to do with me replacing someone else that had left previously

best weapon in game in terms of jack of all trades (other than charger killing)
I'm usually not great at aiming but the enemies in this game get close so it's not that bad here
But I'll definitely consider the AR, it's never given me any problems

@golden scaffold it's good, i prefer running an AR when i have sniper/scatter as each headshot can be a stagger personally
Which means 30 / 40 staggers vs 8 / 16. Of course it won't kill as fast, but it allows me to buy more time for my teammates to help if needed

My lodaouts are very volatile. But usually i always try to keep a combination that can stagger reliably
If i have a heavy ar, i may run DMR or Hel rev
But if i have a sniper, probably AR or bullpup
And oh boy do i love that DMR
May use it instead of ARs soon
i hate hel weapons in general

same thing with the scatter
it's really kek, but gets boring after some matches
@golden scaffold also almost all the weapons are balanced as long as you use them as you should, i agree on trying them out and see what feels good to you
Of course bare in mind to more BRRRR a weapon goes, the harder it is to keep it efficient

the latter is much more satisfying
HEL rev: has pen, a bit more efficient, 8 in mag, 10m range
DMR: slightly less efficient, BUT can 1 hit kill shooters, 12 in mag, 50m range

And then you got pistol, which staggers each hit and overall takes 1 / 2 more bullets to kill depending if you are aiming for the head.

What I do is I use the carbine to soften em up and keep em off me, then I whip out the magnum to finish em off
Works pretty well if they don't get too close, which they sometimes do
But it's fine, magnum is good close range too
God I hope the carbine gets locked in like the HAR did

And do you have to do all of them? Or is there a specific one to complete it?
if the game tells you that x07:soda x06:tree x05:tent then the terminal will ask for one of the 3 digit codes
so if it asks for X07 you need to type in verify soda or whatever the full command is
I have recently started playing the game since devs added bots. It's been great but obviously they have limitations.
Ran into some problems but got through them eventually except for this one.
That meatball on legs in D1. Anyone got any advice on how to deal with it for a solo player?
For added info, I tried flanking it. But bots keep getting spin attacked when they foolishly try to melee it. It also backs itself to a wall and zone us out with triple proboscises.
I tried C-nades and it just does nothing. I tried foam gun and it just bounces off its body and has no effect on the floor or legs.
I tried mines and it didn't activate them. I shot the mines and it didn't seem to react.
I tried 2 sniper turrets while baiting it to face me with my face and it tanked 2 100% sniper turrets. The turrets managed to pop a zit though.
Now the only option I have left is to try and bait it to face its back against wall-mounted mines or else I will have to wait and bring a deadbeat friend in for this.

What is a good main weapon for D3 or in general?
I don't think you can program bots to deal with a tank as it would be very complex. The tank freezes after 2 c-foam grenade hits and turrets priority target weakpoints so they will kill a tank from behind.

Spear has the best reach, so very easy to deal with biggies & scouts
So its for lower skill compared to hammer
If you'd like to poke the fylers, spear helps as well.

hammer has a higher skill cap than spear once things are aggroed because of movement, but i wouldnt say spear is lower skill

I need 2? Dang. I was kind of dissuaded when I saw 1 foam grenade does nothing. Also, the turrets might have missed or dealt some front hits but I was stunned when it wasted all 200% sniper shots.
Not quite, being able to tell the bots to stand still somewhere is enough. All I need to do is flank it and blast it with the scattergun but dumb bots keep trying to melee it when I close in to flank it. Which results in all of them being downed very quickly. Also all bots will just crowd around me, making it harder to split its attention and leaving its back exposed.
i've heard that with the bat's stagger, you can "stealth" kill franks solo
Sniper would be a better choice tbh if you want to attempt to solo a tank as host in place of a scatter

Generally the easiest/easier means of soloing tanks involves just using high ground and having him sit underneath you

so you can fire down onto his sacks from above him
without the use of foam that's probably the easiest way
As far as I know, it charges quite fast and have better range than the knife. You can use it to do multiple silent takedowns in quick successions very reliably.

if he tongues, just duck behind cover like Kaneki said. Otherwise you should have a relatively free kill assuming he stays underneath you for the most part
if the high ground is somewhat short he might get stuck into a permanent cycle of attempting to smack you
which may or may not make it easier
- soloโing a tank isnโt something iโd recommend doing unless youโve played this game quite a bit

I will try out these things. Double Cnade foam, mines on walls, staying above it to shoot at it, using sniper rifle instead of Scattergun, and finally git gudโข๏ธ.
The easiest way to foam would definitely be if you found a foam mine
if you get him to run over it or can get it placed under him he should foam from just the one mine

Cfoam tripmine is more powerful than a regular nade
so it's technically better than a nade, just is a bit more technical to use
since you can only aim it so many directions
I have never seen a foam mine before and as far as my many attempts go, I have never seen it in the level.
D3 has a ton of them
I don't believe the level you are doing has them
I'll keep that in mind for D3. Currently stuck on D1 at the end of the reactor sequence.
The reactor room has lots of places you can use high ground to kill tank in though
so that's good for you at least as an end option

just get him in the middle and have the sentry shoot his ass

Man, I am the one getting kited since he keeps zone us all out with its attacks and backing itself to a wall. That's pretty smart of it. Sniper sentry at the hallway, sure. I will consider that too, hopefully we won't get friendly fired by the sentry.
I did saw it recoiling and turning around in one of the footage, I wonder if there's a state where you can shoot at it and cause it to recoil.

From what ive seen, secondaries are limited to one objective, main sometimes is not
Worst case, a secondary is equal or less time than main
Generally secondary + overload will take longer than high.
If a secondary is extremely short, then the others will probably take longer than if they were ran separately

Most parties would never run q main+overload without the secondary
