if you use two or three sniper sentries then stick to the right side of the bridge they funnel down and theres enough cover from giants that can be dealt with easily form the sentries
ammo and health shouldnt be an issue if you funnel right
one person having a sniper also helps
so you dont have to use the sentries early
Be careful with ammo usage and your sentry usage
I'd say for the first half, only use 1 sentry.. 2nd half use 2 if you are using only 2 sniper sentries

seems like most of the maps are made around sniper sentry so there's almost no point in bringing any other sentry
It’s too hard to find a right position to put auto down
It’s more like, they try to design lots of big zones with no doors you could perma foam. But that also nerf the rest of the things because you just have the good position to set up
S1 deal with that better than larger rooms
D1 is so big that only sniper sentry can do the work without wasting too much tools
The rest of the sentries will be out by the time you finish the third scan then you have 10+ more to go afterwards lol
If they change the burst sentry back to the R1 version, it will probably better

I genuinely like this rundown a lot but it’s also ultra exhausting to play high Tier levels. Can play R4E1 10 times a day without getting tired but I will get extremely tired after playing R5D1 twice in a day
but then again not that hard when you are good at stealth
It could be burn out koopa. Dragons get burnout too when they get tired of people running in fear and it doesn’t get fun for them anymore

Yes after a bulk head there's like a bridge with pillars on both sides but they were on both pillars so I shot them and stupidly aggroed everything in the room and died
So I learned shooting em is a bad idea, but walking past em doesn't seem best either since infection + dmg
Basically just shine a light and you have about 20 seconds before they reactivate
You have to expose each individual one to light though

what they respawn depends on the level and room
so if a room has chargers it will respawn chargers?

It's pretty strange. I did a test. I have made 6 runs. I only picked up:
- 3 aggressiv = -4%
- 3 bold = -4%
- 3 mute = -4%
- 2 bold = -0%
- 2 mute = -0%
- 2 aggressiv = -3%
Apparently you don't get anything deducted up to a certain amount.

Hello, I’m kind of new in this game and tryingo to complete it solo (at least A1) anybody knows if I leave enemies alive behind a door that it will be destroyed by a wave, does this enemies contribute to the wave size?
And If I place mines behind that same door will they damage the enemies of the wave? Or it is just a waste of resources? Thx in advance
If they scream then yes, your mines can also trigger the room. Mines will clear up most of the wave as well
Regarding your first question, it depends on whether the wave's sleepers "step on" the sleepers behind the doors or if they scream in the room where the sleeper is
if none of this happens, then it won't wake up

as in the devs set how many can respawn for certain rooms?
A certain % of enemies respawn but it also depends on the level. Scouts will respawn on certain levels but won't on others.

Such as error alarm wave spawning on a scout then triggering it even though we were far enough (2 rooms) for them not to scream
that doesn't mean that collision was the thing that alerted them
i'm not sure if it's true they never scream when far away

everytime i've seen someone explain scream behaviour it's always been wrong
I don't know how it works exactly but I know it doesn't work in any way someone's explained it before
because there's always situations I recall where their explanation gets proven wrong
I don't think there's any shit like oh they won't scream when they're too far
or oh they have to scream because they broke a door
here's consistent shit I noted with screams:
- there's a global cooldown
- wake up a sleeper that's 2 rooms away and it'll scream in the middle room
- only the first scream of each enemy can wake rooms
doors probably help with the global cooldown
the last point is more than likely a bug
and the 2nd may either be another cooldown or AI preference
enemies seem to like to attack or move a bit first before screaming
there may be a period of time after alerting where they can't scream yet
which makes sense in terms of balancing if they think alerting to a sprint step into immediate scream is bs (in reality it's kinda logical bs that they can attack the millisecond they hear a sprint step)

I don't think it's a global cooldown, more like a per-room cooldown.
That's why you can observe sleepers move into a new room and immediately scream very often.
it's easy to disprove that
jump in and torture a poor guy in one room, compare times between screaming, then run around the whole zone or a few and see if it changes

once the door is foamed its not worth it to put more unless all the C foam dissapears and or if you are tapping it up with the c foam launcher
hi noob here, is there a preferred setting that helps you to see shadow mobs a bit more clearer?
Not sure if there is one, but the bio tracker is the best thing against them.
If there is a way to turn up gamma/brightness, that's the best you can do.. Bio tracker and flashlight are the only ways to actually see them and that's all you should really need anyway since shadows are really easy to kill
i dont know what it is, but i have a real harder time seeing shadows this rundown

In every single game outside of gtfo, if you start moving, enable sprint by tapping shift, and then let go of movement keys, sprint should be disabled when you begin moving agian. In GTFO it is a weird modifier, that is either on or off, at all times, breaking standard convention and screwing with muscle memory
Its honestly the one thing currently preventing me from playing the game.
I believe others have made that #gtfo-game-suggestions to change that behavior

?? what does that have to do with anything. F and C are very common for those functions, and the fact that you can change it completely nullifies your argument. An entire game mechanic that cannot be changed and deviates from pretty much every other game does not compare to some keybinds you didn't like.
F for sprint works pretty well
I am sorry chase but your argument makes no sense at all. You are talking that this difference MagnumDopum is lamenting, is a huge difference in mechanics.
It has the same quality as the change of common keybinds. They are a minor inconvenience at best and the brain is able to quickly adapt. You will need a few hours ofc, but saying that these 2 things are massively different is jokes.
Also I added that the devs might change things. Also just add the toggle function and press one more "shift". What a huge disaster of a change that is....

Toggle Sprint, which is functionally unavailable in the universally agreed upon form, is nothing like 'use' key bindings which differ by game and can be changed instantly to be uniform in a key bind menu.

you can toggle their tentacles with sprint if no other enemies are in range so It'll stop moving giving an easier kill
wait till its it starts walking towards you stand up start charging and hit it dead center mass of the head
or have them walk towards you because their head will typically towards you
they've been trying to make scouts more random for host and client on how they do their tentacle animation so they can bend over when doing it so keep that in mind

what i do is crouch at the edge of the feelers and move in the moment they start retracting, and charge hammer about .5 seconds after. crouch up and stand at the last moment and just head bonk

if you have line of sight you can also hel rifle them once in the head from outside the zone door(or at least when it's opening?) and no one will hear usually

The distance thing where they can't hear you is cheese to most people or at least the door opening/closing and shooting to get a silent kill
I don't think it really matters tho, do what you need to do to get the completion
the door breaking has a range in which it'll alert
but doors breaking don't play sound in rooms where there's no open path to the player
which means if there's another door in-between it wont matter
if it's just that one door between you and them, it's seemingly random probably because it depends on the sound playing before or after it fully breaks

for the distances, there's only 2 you need to know really
in cluster range, crouchwalking wakes them up
in hearing distance, higher noise will also wake them up
once they're awake they'll react to any noise in the same hearing distance
as for the exact distances it's hard to measure really because we don't know the exact reference point nor do we have a way to measure with fractions

by cluster range, you mean a group of sleepers together which efectively increases their interference distance

So it alternates between two and one
It used to be you get 3 after a lot of tool refills given, but that was when it had a max of 10 mines

since Rundown 1 was EA 0.1, Rundown 2 was 0.18, Rundown 3 was 0.25, R4 was 0.50 something
I still think putting those previous versions into a Betas tab for easier access would be nice, especially if we are thinking of replayability in the upcoming 10 years, and I know D0c told me that it's a negative way of thinking, but I think it's important to recognize it

Any key can go to any BH dc

which made no sense to me as it doesnt specify needing a specific key
it's not specific... if you look carefully before picking the key... you can read it'S number and when you pick it up it'll be a different number in your inventory sometimes xD

they have a cylinder-like damage radius
damage is based on falloff and where it hits since it can headshot sleepers (but that only matters for the big ones)
the placement you see is just an attempt to hit as many sleepers as possible

enemies don't actually have any animations for breaking doors so they won't necessarily be in the radius
its both. any door that is foamed should generally be mined.
if you know a door will be taken, give it a mine.
any mines facing into the door are preferable to ones across, if you can manage.

2 snipers are bad for beginners but it’s fine with high skill players. They basically hammer most of the time and only shoot in the scan

the tracking of tongues seems to be pretty bad if you're in the air
not only is it cheesy but it makes stealth unfun and during combat it's ok but if you're immortal then what's the point in even playing then if there's no challenge. it's no secret that i hate behopping but i also see a lot of players alert rooms because they think their all that and end up eating shit in the end

Not at all, kiting is basically gaining distance from the enemy to do things you couldn't earlier, like reviving a teammate or reloading, this is intended to be done or else combat would be ni impossible. Behopping is giving you invincibility for each moment you are in the air, and THAT i consider cheating. It's not a feature that was intended for stealthing and im positive that it isn't intended to jump around like an idiot in a horror game, that's just common since to me... you kite to gain distance and to have a chance to survive where as behopping makes you invulnerable to lickers for some time, yes a short time but the point still stands. If everyone did it during stealth (making the stealth portions easy as hell) then what's the point of the mission having stealth in the first place? Picture this... you just got the game, you jump into multiplayer for the first time, what's the first thing you expect? Terror? Creap? To be scared? But no, the first thing you see is some dude behopping over to a sleeper and killing him, then the next, then the next, and so on. It ruins stealth as a whole, it ruins the CORE ASPECT of the game which is teamwork, and it ruins the "intro" to the game which is, you have no fucking clue what you're doing and scared to move. When you see someone off an enemy like that you grow FAR more balls, and the people that behop tend to be over confident in their abilities and end up alarming the room. When you know what you're doing and not over confident, that shit is basically cheating. It can take 10 minutes to clear a room if you know what you're doing, however, people who behop can clear it in 5 or less and as a downside, make it all too easy to alert the room. Stealth? Ruined. Fights/loud? Ruined.

I think you are confused with the concept of cheating and cheese.
You misunderstand, LICKERS will try to hit you, because of their targetting they aim to your lower half, because of this, jumping can make you "dodge" making you "invincible"

Go with a biotracker, If you have a good stealther make him go in the quiet rooms alone with it equiped to kill any shadows. Clearing a room alone makes it far easier to do than to have all 4 in at once moving around. It's what i did at least.

want to say sorry and thank you, to you first. i took your advice and jumped into a game and tried it out. even with multiple people telling me this i was clearly misinformed and i took it at face value and i am stupid for that
yes this is cheesy however in the context of my stupidy, i still believe that when you "dodge" by simply jumping to take advantage of poor placement of attacks to gain an advantage that the game devs "more than likely" didn't think of, then yes i consider it cheating in some context. again, it's like the parcore as i mentioned earlier (that they fixed by placing invisible walls in the locations you can still jump to but not on which is misleading to me and can kill you in the heat of combat (seen people kill themselves because they thought they could jump onto something while fighting)), when you make yourself invincible to attacks then i consider that cheating. but again, i am stupid and i stand corrected on that misinformation i took to face value. when you do something that in turn makes you wonder if this was intended then you're probably not doing what is intended. running past the enemy is in turn not dodging but juking. i will say this however, not all cheese is bad in every way, and some of it is intended. a licker not being able to lick you because you kited, fell, or juked too far away is (in itself) intended or else lickers would hit you regardless unless you staggered them. and im not saying jumping is bad i was saying behopping which is you intend to jump over and over again, not just simply the act of jumping (comparing to what you're saying here). if you were to walk to the side nonstop and that made you pretty much invincible to lickers then that doesn't sound intended and is more likely to be a bug or poor coding with the enemies as a whole. unless we are referring to the shooters in which case that sounds cheesy but a way to simply dodge the attack. i typically go straight for them and slide under the shot to hit them in the head with the hammer, or i crouch to do a simple dodge, walking to the side is far play or else all these tactics would be close to obsolete making it impossible to deal with them mid combat.

Also to add the scout head hitbox isn't all too great, sometimes you might hit the head but it'll count as the neck.

If they are in a tiny area (like a rectangle room), they will equally spread out and break two doors. Because enemies will spawn randomly in the room and they will break the door that is closed to their spawn point

very noticeable on R4D2 first alarm where they were pathing to the bottom middle door (which is the closest and would be the door they use on any prior rundown), but on their way there they swapped to the door on the right because the path they had to take lead them closer to that door
from what i've seen it still applies to R5
but haven't tested as much

can someone give me a couple of tipps on soloing ? i did good so far till the alarm door (me dying mostly when im trying to finish up the last 1-2 scanns)
things ive tried:
-c-foam the one door they seemingly come through, do scanns and repeat till they break through

mine the sht out of the paths they come through infront and behind the door they try to breach

sentry gunning the door from where they come through but from basically behind their backs
a thing i noticed:
- i hipfire extremly much and barely get time to aim at the enemies in the distance (with for example an smg)

learned a lot already from the monsters by trial and error but i feel like there are tricks i still dont know about or maybe i even use some things wrong

well im panicking a little when they do sprint at me and after hipfireing dry or them getting too close i run but theyre seemingly faster than me or hit me
i experimented a bit with the range of the melee ones but they always seem to get,not caring from wich range i turn around and sprint away to reposition
