it's more that clients with some weapons (notably with the scattergun) have latency problems that can lead to them being able to deal another damage instance to an enemy with tumors and kill them far faster than they are meant to

it's part of the myriad of desync related issues that can occur, it just so happens that this one is extremely advantageous

To explain it very easily

If host does enough damage to destroy a head/tumor, then that tumor instantly breaks and disappears the moment the necessary damage is done.

All other pellets/bullets (this only happens on shotguns or burst weapons) then fly past that. Usually hitting the armor of a boss enemy or missing.

Clients instead, due to latency, have all their pellets hit. Doing maximum possible damage as long as they hit their pellets on the tumor they were shooting at

So with a knife i'm very comfortable walking up to and killing a group of about 4 sleepers and walking through stealth clearing the rest of the room as well, with the sledgehammer the max i can be comfortable with is about 3 in one group and walking stealth killing as if it were a knife leads to some random hard stealth triggers. is the sledge not meant to be walk and bonk like the knife or should i be more worried about syncing enemy detection states? or is it simply a skill issue?

knife has a lower long aggro chance (think 25% vs 50 in specific scenarios? no quote me on that) and it is also better against smaller enemies in general as its very fast- but hammer is capable of also doing the saame thing as it with enoug experience

long range aggros really arent much of an issue if u walk towards them and deal with them beforre they wake up

and aalso make sure to be hittin like crit spots ebvery time u can too lower the charge needed to kill

that makes the sledge very very fast too

i'm in love with the knife gameplay but i worry about how effective it'll be later vs chargers, shadows and other enemy types, also i can 1v1 an awake giant with a hammer but can't with a knife so i'm not really sure if i should just get gud with hammer or not. also stealth killing multiple scouts is so much easier with hammer

u can get used to killing scouts with knife with enough practice- and chargers (sleeping) aree not too bad to deal with ass its only a full charge to the back and then a slash

What do you need to find

Basically you can use terminals

List, Query and Ping will carry you hard

You can use List to List a zone or a resource or item across the level

You can query an object to see In which zone is it

Once you are in the zone you can use ping and the game will tell you in which location that object is

You need IDs then you can list the zone you are currently in and if there's any IDs in the list, ping them

when searching for items is it case sensitive and spaces are underscores or you can use spaces too

it's not the WORST sight that could ever possibly exist, but i struggle to hit shots with it at close range in a way that i don't with the hel gun or carbine

although admittedly both of those guns are easier to control imo

i'm inclined to believe it's a skill issue on my part, though. like, when you can hold a choke and things are walking at you, the hel revo feels incredible, but i 100% struggle with it if a plan doesn't survive first contact with the enemy
