I it possible for randoms to join my lobby if I host my own lobby instead of using matchmake?
Yes, the slot in the lobby needs to be either "player" or "player and bot" for a human to join
you can set to none/restricted/private something and then no one can join
people can only join through lobby codes, through having you as a friend, or maybe clicking to join your game on your steam profile
But if it allows "players" then you can copy the lobby code at the top right and share it with someone
and as d0c said, you can lock the slots so nobody else can join
so if people can only join through lobby code/steam is there a way to matchmake/host a specific expedition so that randoms can join without the need of a code?
in game matchmaking will randomly choose a level within the difficulty tier you select, so no way to matchmake for a specific level. If you want to do a specific level with randoms, then you'd need to use Discord to search for a group. You can technically use in-game matchmaking, then the newly selected host can choose a different expedition, but everyone in the lobby would need to agree.
in game matchmaking however is not advised by most people

Helloo I got a question about the achievements, maybe someone who got them can help me? 
Achievements like:
Kill a total of 20 enemies with one trip mine
Kill a snatcher that has captured a teammate
Kill a tank without anyone on the team taking damage
Are they team based, or does every member of the team has to kill them in these conditions to get it? 
For a tank - its team based, so if the fight goes well - all 4 will get the achievement.
The other 2 though... I think they are individual. So YOU have to kill the snatcher and YOU have to blow up a horde of enemies.

Deleting 3 bigs in 5 seconds is pretty powerful. It was also just waaaaaay too specialised in that role, which made playing it a chore since you were praying something big comes up so that you could actually play.

TL:DR most changes were made to unspecialise the extra large guns and give them more utility / reasons to shoot anything else besides giants (somewhat not true for BC, but honestly the wave swipe was cringe).
I don't understand the ideas behind scatter though. I guess average players just didn't like it?

It didn't really change much. It slightly increased oneshot range for giants, because dear lord you had to be up their ass for it to work AND made it work more reliably against giant shooters and hybrids, since the only hope to oneshot them was to stab it directly into their heads, which was a challenge on its own
A QoL change, really.
Bosses however... But i don't care for bosses, and frankly anyone brave enough to approach a tank for a scatter shot deserves the pay off.
For now anyway.

for the Trigger Discipline achievement does it mean you have to kill enemies ONLY with your melee or can you also use tools, as it says to NOT kill them with main and secondary only.
Tools are fine, but you cannot fire your gun for any reason

I am perfectly fine with most changes done to it. But that 2 bullets in mag hurts :( I would gladly give back the added max ammo / bullet cost for it

Hey, me and my mate keep dying at the end extraction alarm, can anyone tell me how to survive them?
We can't outrun the enemies before sprint running out and dying, so what are you supposed to do?
usually its a mix of runnin to extract, and shootin or meleeing enemies if they are in front
if ur havin too much trouble u could use some foam or mines in preparation before pulling the HSU scan, or run with ur melee charger in case u find any enemy immediatly kill it
yeah, usually sentries aim at thepoint of entrance of enemies or some chokepoint u feel u can hold
and if a scan goes in front of it
u can always pick the turret back again
Fair enough, after first time playing yesterday I started soloing stealth to experiment and the first alarm door went without any damage pretty much. Crazy how me and my mate fucked up the stealth and alarm doors yesterday

I can imagine, yeah I am more learning how the alertness works. Knowing that I can freely crouch around as long as sleepers are dormant without repercussions is great knowledge. I thought it was traditional stealth with sightlines etc.

R6A1 its easier but Rundown 1 overall with its 6 missions its the easiest on the whole game

enemies take more damage to the back, try to keep calm and avoid panicking
uhh every gun its useful, just some are situational so dont dismiss one out of the blue if u didnt liked it for the level
uh enemies detect more when they glow, so if u kill one of their buddies while its glowin at a medium distance it can alert, usually its better to wait till no ones glowin
and always be urself
if 1 or 2 enemies wake up you might be able to kill them with melee instead of shooting them

They work on smash locks (padlocks) and hack locks, which can be found on doors or boxes/lockers

they're completely silent to enemies as well, useful in some situations
artifact heat is a multiplier that affects how much progress each artifact gives you towards each booster
100% heat = 0.15 progress per artefact (booster given when you reach above 1 or another whole number)
50% heat would be 0.075 progress, etc etc
your heat decreases when you pick up artefacts in a level, and increases when you pick up artefacts in a different level of the same rundown

I have the utmost confidence that the ach is not broken and there is just a misunderstanding in the time required to complete it. Some of the ach are not a "let's speedrun and complete them all in one day", they will take some time to do.
I know I will eventually get it but I am pretty sure I descended more than 200km ever since this ach came out. Hope it's not a bug 😂

just some advice!
always ask to not be carried, make sure that everyone joinin ur lobby joins ur voice channel
and if you are new be sure to do the tutorial first [Training] and start on rundown 1 since its the simplest one

If you're trying to fill the lobby with random people - might as well use local LFG channels, its far more reliable.

I have been playing for a while now and love playing but infection levels are the one thing I have a hard time with. Not because of how it effect actual gameplay but the effect it gives your screen. I get very motion sick with the swaying the screen does. Is there any way to disable the screen effect? (didn't see one in base game but don't mind downloading a mod if needed)
is there a recommended order to take stages in? ie R1 > R2 vs R1A1 > R2A1
normally it's said to start on R1, if you get stuck ask for help, if something is really getting you down feel free to move onto the next rundown

I’m having some trouble understanding where my objective is in the first mission, it says that it’s in Zone 52 area E but I’ve scoured that area top to bottom and haven’t found it. Could it be that it’s in another area in the same Zone or is it just a little bugged?
It should be in there, try pinging it on a terminal if you can't find it
I have tried that a couple times and it just repeats that it’s in Zone 52 area E, I ended up getting stuck so I have to restart anyways, maybe it’ll fix itself
The ping command shouldn't tell you where it is but actually put a waypoint on your screen SHOWING you where it is, not telling you

small advice for killing big shooters (by hammer) : Have at least 1 person aim for the occiput. It reduces the giant's hp significantly by 50%.
Occiput hit is 4x, so 20 times 4 would be 80 so it'd be left with 70
i don't really know much of the statistics, it's my own experience lol

trying to learn how to use the knife but its hard to kill some of the sleepers who instantly shoot at you
the shooters u can strafe, like just go WA and mvoe quickly to one side and back to the main path
u will get the hang of it with time, its a timing thing
if ur shootin u can also hold a corner, or while aiming at ur subject, just go to one side as the projectile its kinda close to u
it wont give it time to react and itll miss

we find ourselves having 0 tool going into the error alarm so we try to find the first zone. during that, we burn other resources and find ourselves lacking when we start the 4th surge and/or the second zone with the scouts and giants

Are limb hitboxes on giants wonky? I'm either getting skill issued hard or the game is being inconsistent again. When meeleing them I'm sometimes not breaking a limb that I clearly hit (w fully charged hammer) or a entirely different one, like when going for arm suddenly his chest is gone or his leg. Previously this wasn't a problem cuz it staggered anyway but after stagger nerf I'm noticing it quite often (and randomly loosing 40hp bcs of it)

I usually skip it and don’t remember, but you can always list the blood door zone using the “cell” or “u” keyword to see if it has a cell
In any event one of those res zones wants a cell and that's the only one I'd consider skipping to keep a cell, unless there's one inside it (I think I only opened that zone once since subsequent runs I didnt need it and would rather save time)

Good luck. You’ll fight ||the same enemies as the other blood doors, meaning shadows and big shadows, but no scouts. The lights are out too while you’re in there making it easier to see them.||

Considering 1st surge alarm doesnt require any tool
we're bringing mines, cfoam, burst sentry
we mainly burn through our tool during 3rd surge (before neonate room) and lvl4 cluster(?) alarm before we go into neonate room
we cfoam and sentry the long ladder down to zone 600 to delay them from coming
idk if its the best method but we come out of 3rd surge and lvl4 alarm with tons of hp and ammo but no tool :(
You might be having hitbox override your hitscan. If you're close enough to an enemy that the very first frame of the melee swing hitbox hits them, then you won't hit where you're aiming and instead hit according to the hitbox.
Dont foam ladder, instead just sentry and shoot then. Means you use more ammo, less tool
ladder foam itself is kinda cheesy and doesnt require sentry usage
For hammer the first frame of the hitbox is slightly behind and to the right of you. So you might end up 'hitting' somewhere above and to the right of where you're aiming.
You can just back up a little so that you don't hit with the hitbox and hit with the hitscan instead.
we could do that but i feel like we’ll want to res up in 601 anyways to have the maximum chance of surviving the error alarm part

Use a discord lfg channel instead of matchmaking. No one uses matchmaking really. As for difficulty, a is easiest and e is hardest usually. Although some rundowns are harder than others.

hiya, struggling with R4D1 for a while now and im wondering if anyone's got any workarounds for staggered wave spawns after the first high intensivity test
example:
some enemies spawn REALLY late when we have to clear the bridge with 2 scouts and the class 4 alarm room
so far this has cost us a lot of time and we sometimes cant reach the terminals in time due to this
hold inside the reactor room for wave 2 and 3
Depends on where you resist
it splits the players (which is harder to shoot) but it makes the waves arrive as expected
You might consider holding 2 people back to clear the wave while the others kill the scouts
I held on bridge and was fine, I heard holding inside reactor is better
only for last code do i hold bridge, but you pull wave 5 zone anyway
REMEMBER: One step out of a room and it's already territory to fuck the waves up AFAIK

wave 2 we usually hold in the area between the bridge and the reactor
and final wave we usually hold in the room with the terminal that's close to the final security door we have to open

Hey guys I have a question so im trying to understand Rundowns and st uff, So lets say you do Rundown R1A1 . is there like different difficulties for that level in specific
Like Rundown R1A1 can have a normal version and then a Newgame +
levels do not have variable difficulty, but later missions have little side objectives you can do if you wish which will make the mission harder/longer
the optional objectives only appear in rundowns 5 through 8 though
oh so its like the different skulls right
How do you trigger these side objectives, is it by terminal?
it varies, but the usual method is picking up a bulkhead key from a box or locker somewhere, putting that into a bulkhead door control, doing a scan to select which objective you want to do, and then opening the door

and then you clear the objective, get another key, and use that again to open the next objective
