Wrong monitor launch bug

My game continues to launch on the wrong monitor. I've never had this issue and it is the only game in my Steam library that does this. I was literally just playing on my main monitor, restarted the game and now it's stuck on my secondary. I have done all the general troubleshooting steps I can think of. I.E. setting my main display, trying to move it in windowed mode, restarting my computer, verifying file integrity, etc... Does anyone have the same issue?

cuz iirc the game just verifies with steam if its a legit copy or a fake one
and yeah sometimes the problem fix itself [ but i think this one is noticeable when u open the game and it lags or crash the first seconds ]

the game has 2 dependencies - steam, and playfab. both of them are up. there aren't any GTFO based servers, so there's nothing for us to "maintain" that could cause it to go up/down, etc. The game hasn't received any updates that would impact network connectivity, (nor has it had any since it was last working for you) so that shows that it's not the game that has changed or done anything.

Cpu culling workload puts more work on the CPU (Processor) than the GPU (Graphics card) Depending on what CPU you have you can put the settings higher.

Ahh Tiffy, looks like you're having an issue that is high priority on our list to fix. This could be related to a network issue with one of the players. They can try restarting their modem/router/pc and see if that helps.

This probably means nothing and we got past the level yesterday. But in B1, me and a group did extreme with no issues, however once we went through the Hard bulkhead door anytime someone opened their map they lagged. This led to the host and one other to have a complete game crash while in the fog. Given the host change it reset us to a specific point in the fog but we weren't taking infection and all their tool utility stayed even after they joined back. So we had 6 sentry guns and multitude of mines. We still best the level, of course but for 30-ish minutes opening the map resulted in a game crash and just thought it should be out there as something that happened

That really depends on the hosts internet. I played with 150 ping and it was ok (Germany to USA). You only can test it and see how good it works.

I have tried repeatedly to get gtfo to work and have been unsuccessful. I am experiencing the Unity error crash and have been unable to fix it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times while removing the 10 Chambers Collective folders. I have altered every graphics setting in every way and combination. I got the game to work once by using the Geforce Experience settings for performance over optimization but was never able to make it past the drop sequence once again after I exited the game. Even after a new install and using those exact settings, the game continues to crash with the Unity error.

There's been a few areas I've been falling through the floor on 'A1-Cytology' whilst not being host. Usually ended up just popping back up on the floor I started. This one spot I got trapped under some vents in the floor. Tried re-joining even as a different character but to no avail. Not sure if this is a latency issue (I was not host) or something else.

@gaunt lion That looks like an error accessing some parts of the RAM on your computer. I'd recommend reseating your RAM and clearing of any dust, then try again, if still same thing run a memory diagnostic tool to see if it can find any bad RAM

SOLVED

||when trying to QUERY SEC_DOOR_ on terminal all disappear on terminal screen saying only Debug console on top and posting random characters when hit Enter, no way to turn it back in normal mode terminal, it reacts only on Esc - exit, E - use and Enter - random 1 character post in terminal line.

SOL: Just press and hold enter or try to ping something a few times (it'll still type even though you can't see it) which sould clear it up||

Hello I have a problem, when I enter the game some sounds are not heard is like missing in the game, the initial kinematics or the main menu music, none of that is heard. When entering a game, the descent part is heard nothing, literally nothing but the same silence as heard in the menu, when entering the gameplay you hear things like ambient music but the recharge sound does not work like many others. Does anyone know it can be?

I was in a situation where I think Discord thought I was still in a room. I could hear people join and leave it. Restarting PC, updating discord, and even reinstalling didn't work. But when I logged in and out of my device, it magicked itself back together.

Just wondering if anyone else has run into this, but when playing I get weird stutters every now and then. Not just an odd frame drop or something, but like my whole PC stutters for a moment. Visuals, audio, discord, everything. This just a bug for some setups at the moment or is there something I can tweak to try and figure out where its coming from? Because otherwise performance has been pretty good, especially since the recent patch

RTX 2080
i7 5820k (overclocked slightly to 4.2 ghz)

could be that something on your SSD is occupying it, so it gets these problems, try to move it to your HDD and see if it still occurs. I had the problem on my old PC. Can't promise it will fix the problem

think its resolved? A reinstall didn't quite fix it but setting the target framerate to infinite seems to have stopped it from happening. Had it set to 120 before but after switching it I haven't had it happen. Will keep going on this solo level and see if that was the fix

Hello! I have a new weird "bug" that freezes my game, the picture freezes but my teammates can still see me move, I can hear the game still and I can jump around shoot and everything. But it just freezes. It happens ONLY when I go into the setting and leave the settings, as soon as I leave the game freezes. I uninstalled, did A clean reinstall.. updated the drivers. An update on my stuttering issue: Disabling Vsync, setting target framerate to infinite, and getting rid of my antivirus (Norton Shakes fist) has made the problem better

#

however after playing a match on both SSD and HDD per a suggestion from Lavars it hasn't made much of a difference

That is a problem that is not coming from their side, it's a problem with a cloud service that saves all the progress. You could try to restart PC/Modem and Steam entirely .

@ivory violet Sorry for the late ping about the issue, but you should also try restarting your computer and see if the issue still persists. Sometimes this restart is needed for the connecting to be made for some reason.

Yeah nothing seems to be working to get around the Network Error, I restart my computer and it lets me in but then the missions are locked. If I quit out the game is won't show the start game button, just hangs on the connection error screen.

Has anyone found an unofficial fix or workaround for the intense FPS dips during certain enemy wave spawns? I dip from a locked 60FPS to 35-45FPS in the middle of the firefight, which is basically the worse time to do so. Not every scan spawn does this it seems, only certain ones on certain maps. The C2 central hub room scan is one example. The auto sentry also seems to exacerbate this issue. My teammates experience this as well, no matter the CPU/GPU combo.

I've also tried going thru trouble areas with task manager on- my CPU/GPU usage floats at ~30-40% and ~60-70% respectively throughout. The game seems to be bottlenecking itself somehow. I've tried running game as admin, disabling full screen optimizations, letting GTFO handle scaling, turning on threaded optimization, etc.

I've also tried Exclusive Fullscreen and Full Screen Window, since the former sometimes causes weird performance for a few apps. No luck there either.

And of course, as others have mentioned, the microstuttering is also annoying. It used to only happen when I've been playing the game for hours without restarting, but now it happens regardless.

I have noticed that when I play GTFO after a few matches the frame rate drops to below 10 FPS in foggy areas making it difficult to play. I am not sure what the cause is. When I start the game fresh and play the frame rate is fine. But after a few matches I get the low FPS issue. When I look at the ground the FPS is high, but when I look up into fog the FPS tanks. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue? I have been streaming with Geforce Experience and I thought that was the issue but the low FPS persists even when I stop streaming. Also I am not sure if it is the fog that tanks FPS or the overlays for the team, but when I look down to remove them from the FoV the FPS jumps back.

Issues with the connection to the game. We couldn't extract just like the glitch where no enemies spawn bit it was hella dumb. This has happened a few time before, but the opening the map on b1 after doing extreme has once and a while just crashed the game completely. The host lost internet and opened the big funny crash map pretty much at the same time, yet was still in the game even after they connected back. Then we proceed to place tool and just not lose the charge. Unlimited mines on the host who had them and the turrets set down before the host left stayed so we still had two in inventory but two on the ground. We'd fall through the ma in the fog zone and come back up no taking any until we went out and in. Guns would shoot after hitting 0 %. And using the stims didn't wear off the effects, which was of course only really notice for the strength one. It's was such a damn Clustertruck. It would sometimes just reset us as if host left but didn't? I don't know it was really scuffed and it got reported

(maybe bad routing, internet provider issues) i'm not sure. you could try submitting a bug form if you haven't already done so, and try verifying your game files next time you log on steam

@wild urchin It crept onto my screen as a black box that enveloped my view in absolute black, then as I moved out of the fog (playing rundown B2) it turned into that odd patternt that seemed to change and mold in that wavy pattern both when I looked around and when I didn't. It was at an doorway (as I was exiting) that was opened. I could still see my HUD as well as the name of the person I was playing with.

To specify, the game start fine but then, it stops responding (crash) . The game would work only once after reinstalling the game from steam, but would crash all the time after that, i have no idea if its the game or my computer causing this. Any suggestion appreciated.

I think i solved it. It seems something in C:\Users\AppData\LocalLow\10 Chambers Collective\GTFO
is causing the crash and i have to delete the GTFO folder to make the game work again.

Good evening, I hope this is the right channel to ask an opinion about a connection issue. If it isn't I'm sorry. I play with two friends (I will call them K and D) at GTFO and lately when one of them host a lobby and start the game, they have some "connection" problems , like lag on pickup object and moving monster. So if D host, K has problems, when K host, D has problems. I have no problems with both and the same is for them towards me. If I host, K or D doesn't lag but there is the risk that K doesn't see D and viceversa. Any suggestion/opinion about what is that "connection" problem between them? Thank you!

One thing I'm noticing. I have to uninstall/reinstall etc every time I start the pc again. It's like every time I shut down and reboot it's corrupting the settings folder. Could this be due to the streaming? Is there a known way round having to do this each time? Thanks again in advance.

@white radish I am, but I use a streaming service called Shadow pc, which might be adding to the confusion. It regularly changes my desktop size and background without being asked, so thought it might be causing this too.

So i have someone who's entire PC is freezing after 30m to an hour of gameplay. We've checked temps and even reapplied thermal paste, nothing is wrong with it. They're using a GTX 1080, an i7, 16gb of RAM, PC runs all other games 100% fine with no issues. But for some reason with this game they just keep having issues with the game causing the entire PC to freeze and we have to do a manual power off to get the PC back up.

@shadow gale max render que frames, is someone like vsync, in that it preloads frame data thus requiring more resources, but i recommend testing it out. I set mine to 0. CPU culling is about offloading workloads from CPU to GPU. So if they are about even in processing power, leave it be.

No enemy sound.
No bulkhead door sounds.
No melee sounds.
No footsteps.
No lockmelter sounds.

Yeah he's not wrong. Something is going on with discord and his game. If we both close discord, he's able to join and drop in with no issue. We can even open discord after we're in the game, but if either me or him have discord open on the PC when he tries to join the lobby, he is unable to ready up/can't see his character/can't see people as ready when he's host/can't see characters correctly.

We've tried uninstalling the game and deleting all %appdata% files, tried checking his firewall, tried checking literally everything i can think of. But when we both closed discord and i hosted a lobby, he was able to connect and drop in perfectly. But if either of us open it again, he connects to the lobby with errors. Not sure what the fix is for this one, it seems like a super isolated problem, but definitely an issue. I even checked if Discord and GTFO use the same ports for P2P but it doesn't seem like they do. Anyone have any idea's at all? because i'm at a loss.

Could be entirely unrelated, but have you tried running discord with administrator permissions? Someone more experienced could probably shed more light, but for me, I have some issues with the overlay or function of discord and some games if I don’t have it set to run as admin.

Alrighty, i'll have CamelBay do that, I'm not having the issue at all. It's just him. For some reason he just can't connect to anyone at all if they have discord open. Even random lobbies. Mine works flawlessly, its just his. We went through restarts, reinstalls, cache clearing, file deletion, everything i could think of last night. Only other thing i can think of is maybe NAT settings or port issues.. but discord doesn't use the same ports so i don't understand how discord could be blocking his game from connecting to people. He can't host, i can't host for him, etc.. no one can.. no idea why

Hello I have the same issue that was reported earlier by @runic hill. My PC specs are the exact same. GTX1080 FTW, i7 4770k, 16GB DDR3 2400MHz RAM. My PC does not crash at all except in this game. It was running around 90-120fps since rundown 004 update but ever since a smaller update the game has been near unplayable because my PC freezes after about 40 min of playtime. Ive reinstalled the game and ran on lower settings to no avail. Ive been playing since rundown 003 with no issues until now. Any updates on this?

i personally never found the fix for it @ashen swan The person that had the issue just uninstalled the game and quit playing. She's upset that it doesn't work and since we weren't able to find the fix, she just gave up. If a fix does get found i'll let you know, please do the same if you figure it out on your end.

My game keeps crashing.. i tried uninstalling and deleting the 2 folders, verifying for integrity, running as administrator, installing the things [Bug Inquisition] Ez wrote, updated my drivers, checked if its blocked by firewall ( it isn't ).. nothing works.. can someone help me please ? @safe ocean I am having the same issues to no avail. I have a 1080 ftw 16gb Ram, i7 4770k. Some small update has made the game unplayable for me. I will let you know if I figure anything out. This is disappointing.

For a month I have problems with the audio of the game, it is as if they were missing assets, the audio of the main menu does not exist, neither the kinematics and when entering the game you do not hear the sound of recharge or blows, just a couple of dialogs and a little bit of environmental music. I asked Discord moderators and they told me that I had to reinstall the game, if that didn't work I had to ask in the Tenic Support channel. Reinstalling the game didn't work so I went to ask and no one answered, I asked the moderators again to know what I can do, but they didn't respond either. I don't know what to do anymore.

support is basically 2 people and then a few people volunteering, like myself. There are a lot of bugs. (especially after the engine upgrade) And the full game's team is super small. so fixes may take time. Thus bug reports are really helpful.

For those that are having issues with Cage dropping with friends. We have tried re-validating files/uninstalling the game and deleting the "10 Chambers Collective" from files listed up above and even restarted our networks. While also updating our drivers with no resolve. The one fix we found while messing around was turning off discord for all party members. Once we turned off discord it all of a sudden would let us cage drop. Pretty interesting bug- for some that are having the same issue, give that a try.

FXAA doesn't do the greatest job, that's all. You can try using Nvidia DSR or AMD VSR though.

SSAA/DSR is really the only way to get good AA but it's very expensive

MSAA is meh but gets the job done for not much performance impact

AA in post really doesn't do much from my experience
