sound. recognizing shadows are less scary than you think. not in a belittling elitist way i mean factually. shadows move and attack much slower than normal strikers

if you suspect you are getting overwhelmed you can just fall back a little

when you hear a wind up attack you have like twice the amount of time than normal to react

(also an advantage, you can prioritize the ones about to attack with much more ease)

i've solo'd the first part of main with all the giants with bots before, i am here to tell you to take your time and use ALL the resources, you are given well over the amount of what you can use

assuming 1 giant per resource. (grenade, tripmine)

you even get 4 syringes for free (the yellow ones), to one shot 1 giant each. infection has no effect until 10%, syringes will not give you 10% in one hit

the main gotcha thing is after the first checkpoint, like you said, because that 2nd room after it has a LOT of spawns in it, very nasty when it wakes up

to further this tip, the 1st blood door is a little tricky, but usually USUALLY the game is nice enough t ogive you an explosive tripmine in the first part, but not guaranteed. you can either spam drop until you get one or use cfoam tripmines. 3-5 oughta do it.

but expect to take lots of dumb damage regardless because of the tileset. unfrozen strikers pile up on the small ramp and you get lit up pretty consistently
