kind of an odd question, but how often do people tend to zoom in and out in raids or even just pvm in general? i was talking to a guy a while ago who said he kept his zoom at a constant level to keep clicks/tile distance consistent, but that seems like it would at best be fight dependent.

it totally depends on the content in my opinion. in chambers for example you can pretty comfortably keep a constant zoom but i find in tob i am zooming out and in a lot more (for example p1 verzik i would zoom out enough to be able to see what i need to, on p2 i zoom in for less chance of misclick until crabs come at which point i would quickly zoom out a bit) or in inferno when healers come out at zuk i find it a lot easier not to misclick if i am zoomed in a bit more than usual (a point where you wouldnt have to click zuk anyways so being zoomed in is fine). to some extent it is personal preference but there is definitely a benefit to being zoomed in or out more depending on the content

ive been asking around about it and it seems like some people do make a concious effort to keep a specific zoom level and of course there's the preference factor, but it just seemed like a particularly odd choice to me

im just trying to look into different changes i can make, ive been playing fullscreen up to this point and now that im trying to make an effort to get good at raids/pvm im experimenting with things like changing dpi/screen size/etc to try and make things like prayer swaps and gear switches easier, which have been points of struggle for me historically

i think if you can find a good setup that works for you in terms of settings (client size, dpi like you were saying) it will make things a lot easier in the long run (although it will be hard to get used to at first like any big change like that)

im not a professional pvmer by any means but i find using the smallest possible client on my 1080p monitor and 800dpi works very well for me, i find i dont misclick often and dont have to move my mouse much to get to where i need to be

definitely would be a bit jarring trying those settings after being a fullscreen player for a long time though 😂

keep in mind on a higher res monitor smallest client would be even smaller on the screen so you may have to adjust depending on ur resolution

i tried going to the lowest size which was ~780x580 or something like that, i changed it to 800x600 (for now) which seems like it might work, but as you said changing that much is going to take some getting used to no matter what
if i zoom out too much it definitely seems like its harder to click on specific tiles due to the window size for one thing, but i think thats just gonna be part of the growing pains, i just gotta experiment with all the different factors for screen size/dpi/ui placement etc etc to find something that works well
as for my screen, its fairly big but not an ultrawide or anything. according to display settings the recommended is 1920/1080

anytime i stream on we do raids ever since i switched to windows, i get crazy frame skips, people say my stream looks fine on their end, its only for me, when im standing still it seems to do it less, but when theres alot going on like me moving, multiple javs being thrown or 2 manticores firing it has minifreezes for less then a tick each time, i cant figure out how to pinpoint it. any ideas

not 100% sure but my first thought would be to keep windows task manager open on the side while streaming to see if cpu or gpu are spiking to full usage which would probably clue you in to if it were one of those causing the issue vs something in-game (keeping in mind i dont think osrs uses all cpu cores so maxing out cpu usage is probably much lower than 100%)

could also be a not enough RAM issue but im not sure how much streaming is affected by RAM (i have only 16gb but have never experienced your issue)

i would imagine CPU is the most important for that specific use case though

u might be able to join learner but from experince

u want ur kc number to go up trying to raid with all learners is rough

and u cant get on more compotent teams till you get some experince

ive heard good things about aaty discord to help u actually get those kcs

and people atleast for a short while

unless u have friends to take you at 0 kc

p2 lasts about 15 minutes so you get loads of practice

and when you clutch the kill it's first cape levels of relief

it's also only 5 kc for lfr std
