if you do cox or any dragon slaying, buying a lance would be a decent idea
A unforitified ward instead of mal ward is a decent pruchase too

Bandos and prims are bad investments; use a fighter torso, blood moon legs/helm, and dragon boots. Gz +50m

Honestly buying about anything is fine except for the following:

  • armadyl
  • pegs
  • aerena boots
  • archers and seers ring
  • any barrows armour except if you're using it for a CA
  • venator ring

The following are easy items to sell for similar items/1 tier lower to get a lot of GP:

  • prims
  • nez faceguard
  • bandos top
  • bandos bottoms
  • ahrims
  • emberlight (pk yourself)

At your bank value buying extra weapons/cheap jewlery is the smartest move:

  • ven bow
  • ring of the gods
  • DCB + Buckler (depends on the content)
  • ward (unfortified)
  • sang (if raiding)

I'd boot into Safe Mode and see if it persists after that, if it does, have him run Display Driver Uninstaller while in Safe mode. If that doesn't work it's probably the ribbon cable going from the screen to the mobo like @open pivot said
