For the time being, I would strongly advise finding an Unofficial Server to play on as they are unaffected by these issues. We don't want you to feel discouraged at all. I can suggest Triassic Survival as they're pretty beginner friendly and don't rely on Pay-To-Win.

If you want a more traditional Official experience, Asura's your best shot.

The massive influx of players the game's received has been relatively unexpected, which is the likely cause of these issues arising.

The wiping issues are due to the servers.

To quote a modmin, there is currently an issue where some servers are getting wiped on restart/crash

Devs are actively working on it but it seems to be a complex problem so it's taking a good min. In the meantime, you can grow smaller creatures (hypsi takes less than an hour to get to full, dryos too iirc, I'm sure others have less crazy grow times as well) or play on unofficials. :)

Im a new player and for nz playing on au servers. When I first got the game a week ago I had no problem with lag or banding. But now its a real problem and im banding constantly. My internet is good so does anyone know what's going on?

There was a few days' period of server crashes that wiped all our previous dinosaurs.

During that period, dinos made were getting wiped daily.

After the update, newly made dinos ended up still getting rolled back some in-game time when the servers schedule rebooted. Possibly back into pre-hatching nonexistence in some cases.

Now we're seeing some stability for the characters we create, but time will tell if there are more hiccups in progression.
