There are some large-scale player optimisations in the pipeline but a lot of TI's issues with large player counts are just server load issues. Servers haven't kept up performance-wise with desktop processors, and for single-threaded games like TI you just get too much to do per server tick

Nah, the sound falls off too quickly, if you can hear the trap you can hear their footsteps

They weren't originally intended to just be sound traps, they would scavange bodies and could be caught and eaten (they are still on PT diets), but they were buggy and caused issues so they were changed to their current state for the time being

After one or two actually did hit, they started lagging/jittering around to avoid the last lethal hit. Will get the footage and send on, they can decide. Hitboxes are a bit scuffed at the moment. As far as I know there's no hacks that mess with your hitbox, the closest is long range biting

I would say it seems a lot of people agree that steg is currently quite overpowered so it's less... 'taboo' to use this timing exploit? A sort of unintentional nerf?

Otherwise if steg was quite weak I feel like people would be more likely to say 'yeah that's an issue note it to the devs'.

But I think that your general stance of 'if you use exploits you're a bit lame' is still valid, in other instances. This one just seems a bit more complex, due to the balancing? Idk

Steg seems OP compared to the current predator pool. The future predator pool includes much mightier carnivores which are designed to tussle with the steg. Dilo would never take on a steg in real jurassic situation. No matter the excuse, deliberately using an exploit to defeat a delioberately tougher opponent is stupid.

Mmm - I'll disagree on the last sentence, tentatively. Only because those carnivores aren't 'currently' in game yet to deal with the steg.

The game is beta right? Who knows the devs may implement this as a genuine feature specifically in Steg vs (insert weaker dino) fights. However clarity is important, if it was a known feature and is consistent you could account for that while playing. If it's an exploit it's just sort of frustrating.

A tough balance of wanting to achieve realism, but keeping gameplay fair.
