Earlier today devs released a patch that was designed to address some bug issues, one of them was for AI spawn rates. Upon the release of the patch the AI had a new issue, it spawned AI alright; masses of frogs and just frogs. Frogpocalypse
There has been three hotfixes since the patch and devs should have another out soon to relieve us all from the grasp of our new amphibious overlords.
There were more bugs than just AI they were targeting but the frog issue is by far the funniest as from what I can gather from the comments it's why the servers have been so unstable today.

I was made very aware of the state of the game and did indeed research it, and my 400 hours in four weeks of this game shows that I am very much enjoying it, bugs and all. But I came in understanding that as an early access game it was gonna be rough, especially as I have friends who have played it long term who filled me in on it all
