Pretty sure you can only find food as a herbivore at a sanctuari, but you can always find herbivores as a carnivore close to the sanctuaries. As far as i remember.

the guide states that you should be able to see the three dots as a carnivore in a sanctuary when using scent, and as a herbivore you should be able to see the locations of mushrooms when using the scent, but i had no luck with either before

i only found mushrooms there as a herbi before by pure chance

maan this update has been super weird, i like the new growth for sure. Makes juvi stages more challenging.. But the diets now is horrible
