Servers can only have a certain amount of AI(and their dead bodies) on the server at a time.
So they are probably being hoarded at a hotspot.
Find the giant MX group. You'll find the ai

Verify your game files.

You’d have to google that or ask in the discord of the server you’re trying to join.

There's two ways.
First way will directly throw u into server upon pressing play.
Right click the isle in your library, properties, general. Then in the "launch options" type +connect <IP address> (obviously replace the <IP address> with the actual IP address. Example in picture.

Second way is to favorite the IP.
Top left corner of steam you'll see view. Click that, then game servers.
Click on favorites tab. Then bottom right will be a +. Click that and input the IP. 🚨 After inputting the IP, BEFORE hitting enter, make sure there is no sneaky space that snuck in at the beginning or the end. If there is one, delete it🚨 now you may hit enter.
This will throw the server into a list on that same screen. Most of the time it won't have the actual name(like Asura) and you'd have to either play server roulette or compare the server population shown with what is shown on their discord. (Most unofficial servers have a population count bot on their discord).

There is no fix. Legacy is old and broken. You need to join via an IP from the server you want to play on.

Hella late but since the response you got didnt actually answer you correctly(no offense to that person),
The reason spino(and other sandbox dinos like anky, shant, acro, bary, etc etc) are not in the character selection screen is because they are unfinished dinos. They'll only be in character selection on sandbox servers.
You can get them in normal survival servers, you'd just either request a free juvi(at least in Asura idk how the others are in regards to juvis), buy adults with discord currency for whatever server, or get nested in.
Buying or requesting won't magically make it appear in the selection screen. It just changes your dino file. Then when you die, gotta buy/request again.

As for the legacy search, it's broken and outdated. There's no fix for it.
Can keep messing with your "max search results" until you can find unofficials hidden between the fake servers, join off a friend, or join via IPs.

Well, they haven't been working on Evrima for 10 years. Had to start from scratch, then change to UnrealEngine5 I think it was. They are slowly updating it probably to not break it. They need to do little by little, test it, and do patches/fixes/updates/whatever to adjust.
Otherwise, if they listened to the community and rushed stuff, it would be a broken clusterfk like Legacy. ||Tho I still love legacy more so it is what it is lmao||

Legacy is the default version when you first install the game. It's the OG version but it's unfinished and abandoned (tho still has a decent playerbase).
Evrima is actively being worked on. different game mechanics, different graphics and map, less dinos for now but has some out that Legacy does not have.

I personally prefer Legacy, but there's others who prefer Evrima.

As of currently, there are no rules in the server aside from the rules regarding in-game chat, hacks, and bannable exploits. Mixpacking, overpacking, KOSing, etc etc in gameplay are all fine due to how few people there are in the server to enforce the other rules. There’s dino storage and a points system in the server to buy dinosaurs too if anyone’s interested. (I’m not a member of staff but just trying to get the word out there that New Beginnings still exists for anyone that doesn’t know what happened to it after it got deleted by the OG owner)

Hypers were removed completely by the Devs years ago because hackers/whatever had to ruin it for everyone.
Only way you can play the Hypers is by having the old version of Legacy installed and playing a server that may have them. Idk the full logistics of it.

That's unfortunately the new normal with legacy. It's broken and outdated. There's no fix for it. I don't even use the search anymore. I join by IPs.

There's no fix for it. Legacy search is broken and outdated.
Can either keep messing with the search settings, or my recommendation, join servers by using their IPs. You can input those either in the launch options or favorites.

Official admins have absolutely nothing to do with unofficial communities. Hell, they don't even have official legacy servers anymore anyways.

But, to at least try to help you, you need to message a Head Admin of Noobz to try and appeal your discord ban. Then I guess from there you can work on your in-game ban.

Crimson Isle I don't think exists any more, New Dawn is very dead barely gets 5-10 max concurrent players daily, and The Dry Reef is still relatively popular, reaching 90+ players every day still, maxing out on players typically during the weekends.

It's most likely because Afterthought still has the legacy branch as the main game and Evrima as a beta. No idea why they don't just make Evrima the main branch outright since that's the one they support actively and most likely want people to play, we all already know that it's in development, we see that when we buy the game.
