fully close game. when you get back in don't move for like 30-45 seconds. if that doesn't work, you can try deleting the config and relogging with the same instructions.

super duper distant calls like that are very quiet so its hard to pick up on the smaller more subtle notes of them, but you can hear them, quite literally from across the map

i once heard my buddys allo broadcast in the swamp while he was in highlands
