The first 3 numbers must be one of the following, for patterns to work:

-> 000 - Pattern 1
-> 111 - Pattern 2
-> 221 - Pattern 3

when exporting, it changes these numbers for some reason and the export code doesn't work when imported.

you need to spam the import code with the pattern indicator (000, 111 or 221) in the beginning (erase the incorrect one first), - twice into the 'import' field for it to work, too.

It sucks but I find that the common mig zones are Delta, Highlands and one of the north zones.

It is all a bit confusing. I have my theories given what we know about how PZ and MZ work.
You can try the PZ trick when there are lower play counts. Logging and relogging resets your PZ so you can do that 4 times just to make sure that you know you have done that step, especially when there are not too many players.

It could be the crashes to be honest, I am fairly sure it is the server that tracks the requirements, as I did a test when we were having rollbacks to see if I could unprime or get prime after a roll back.
