I personally have witnessed kentro kill allo many times. Though, admittedly, its usually a solitary sub or fresh grown allo against at least 2 or more adult kentros.

Unsure as to the 1v1, both adult, match up. I know kentro has abhorrent bleed res though, and allo is one of the best bleeders in the game

Personally I enjoy kentro immensely, I have made it to adult and elder more often than not after days of playing noth8ng but it, though havent managed entombing more than twice.

I am sure it can use some more rebalancing, but my biggest issues playing as it that have left me feeling rather unfulfilled are issues either out of the scope of the animal itself(getting mixpacked while successfully fending off a carnivore like cera or sub allo by a kentro they have as a buddy), or just me being annoyed at dilos being able to bite me twice and wait for me to die.

Dilo seems especially stacked against kentro from what ive seen, you may as well sit down and let them kill you if they get you at night.

Kentro power swing seems odd to me, though. Ive noticed that it seems bugged. There is a way to spam the power swing if you click at the exact moment the tail returns to its highest point in the recovery animation, but if you click a moment AFTER that, you get the weird "not ready yet" delay and have to wait to swing again.

I have been practicing and havent managed to land one yet, but I do love that you can sprint with your tail charged, and if you are looking behind you, let go of s, hit w, and release the attack you can (presumably) slam a pursuer with your charge attack if they are RIGHT on your heels. Issue is that as a kentro, despite playing it for days im either not coming across any players at all, players who are worse than me and die to a single tap(like half grown dilos attacking in daytime), or its micpacks that get me.

Instead of buffing kentros weight, I wouldve kept him at 1700KG, buffed his bleed resist by a lot, and increase his speed to 36 or 37 km/h

Ive seen many trikes kill rexes, the issue is that trike and Rex are basically designed around a possible 1v1 between each other or their same species, and dont operate well outside that when rexes almost always roll in groups and always outnumber trike players, or trikes ate rolling in mix herds killing anything they find, going against the intent of the playables

And outside of just removing them from the game entirely, or giving literally all dinosaurs the ability yo for honor style dual each other, idk what can be done to rectify it

Another big issue is these days, nearly any trike you see in officials tends to be a mixpacker WITH rexes. The number of times I see a baby trike and rex traveling together at similar stages of growth in the remote parts of highlands or north lake has been few, but enough to comment on. (Maybe about six or seven).

And thats in the hordetest alone. Idk what the other officials are like.

Honestly, I just entombed a pachy in north lake that met a bright white sub trike that simply ignored me, or just stared any time I tried to initiate the friendly herbi moves.

Suspiciously, not minutes later while I was drinking I got ambushed by a sub rex(unsuccessfully) nd as I was running to the safe rock for galli raptor and pachy, turned around to see the trike, not the rex, chasing me.

Rex nowhere to be seen. Trike sat at the bottom of my rock facing outwards from the angle up in defensive stance, presumably "protecting" me, but honestly it all felt too coordinated. Like some kinda stat debuff if you spend xyz amount of time around a carnivore as an herbivore could be easily worked around by the mixpackers just clockwork spending shifts together and apart and coming together just to kill something then disperse

One of my ideas, however dumb, is long term once all species are added make different types of servers/maps catered to a pre selected roster on each island, so that way theyre all balanced for these few animals rather than the entire cast. Honestly though for all the complaints I have about rex, it is offset by the fact that in my play sessions of late I do rarely ever see them, and if i do I see them NORMALLY well before they see me

Eh, agree to disagree. If you utilize thermals and wind currents properly its fine imo. Especially now that you can hit the ground and terrorize babies in sanctuaries, just make sure to keep enough stam got a takeoff to get atop a rock.

I think the current stam is fine, but I do think the fact pteranodon loses basically all flight momentum after like 0.5 seconds even when at full speed is stupid.

If they could maintain speed without having to shift every 4 or 5 seconds theyd be golden imo.

A bunch of the rocks across gateway have thermals(they look like wind and leaves blowing up into the sky) that are active day and night. Off the top of my head theres one at delta, one at water access, and another at west rail.

Thermals you just fly into. Nothing else. Just fly into them and you enter an animation where your ptera looks like its parachuting if that makes sense and itll give you a massive boost in altitude without losing any stam.

The one in delta can basically carry you almost all the way to south plains with barely any stamina usage aside from occasionally flying up to keep height, if you dont sprint and don't mind just gliding along at a crawl.

As for wind currents, same. Theyre basically gusts of wind that follow a long distance, theres one that goes down the river from water access almost to delta, and you fly with the current and itll basically put you st near max flight speed without needing to sprint

But if you fly AGAINST it, itll slow your speed immensely and almost stall you out

Currents are good to get you solely from point a to b, but not necessarily b back up to a, in record time.

Thermals are good to give you lift to get you to practically anywhere else on the map, and spare your stam, but if you want maximum efficiency you gotta be fine with basically flying at the lowest speed possible

Honestly this has been something ive commented on a lot with this game. The biggest issue especially in a game that let's you play different species like this is without strict regulations, humans will just behave LIKE humans in a dinosaur skin.

Like, Hotspots become hotspots bc regardless of how well adapted an animal may be to operating solo or duo, in thick forests, humans like being in clearings near a water source. So any spot near open sightlines with a nearby water source(how south plains used to be) becomes a hotspot for basically every species even if the game designs them to operate best elsewhere
