Both are partially true. If you don’t obtain prime, when you reach towards the end it does make it lowkey frustrating to make it till entombent due to the massive speed loss (unless you sit in a bush for the last 5%). So yes I would argue at the moment it is essential to survival

Spam biting for rex v rex isn't really a good idea. Once you get into sparring with them, holding left click and swinging your mouse to the side can spin another rex around if you're equal weights or they're smaller, letting you get off free crush bites on them. If you just spam against someone that knows that, you're probably dead.

Im going to ASSUME this is what the devs plan, at least I hope so, making it so the direction you pounce a creature impacts the damage and danger factor of actually pouncing them (depending on the creature ofc) so it forces you to actually use your brain lmao. pouncing a smaller creature from behind it will be much more effective and less dangerous than pouncing from the front (ofc this varies with examples of ceratopsians and stegosaurids lol)

bucking mechanic, water, pouncing isn't as bad as pinning atm and raptor's intended focus is to be a group that can coordinate together to pin it successfully or drain its resources over the course of a fight

but a raptor trying to pin something from the front should take damage in return, maybe even consume more stamina, just shouldn't get out scott(scotch? Tape.) free by the end

overall all the pinners/pouncers should actually have to think "I can't do this unless it turns around or actually passes me to successfully pull this off" or else it becomes a brawl mechanic... which I'm 100% for

I buck and do my thrashing, whenever I throw you off is when I’d do a certain amount of damage (which imo shouldn’t be too much but not pushover damage) and there should be some form of split second warning to allow me to get off before an attack comes

The thing is that I often see people say “well just don’t fight the baryonyx” to balance out it just flat out killing you for daring to ambush it. The whole point is that grapplers like Omni & Allo are generalistic and don’t really care what they hunt as long as they have the pack

spear fishing let's you spawn fish that have no effect on the existing pool of fish, you can basically eat whenever you wanty so long as it's daytime from 4:30 AM to idk what time at night.
