Rex’s punch up potential is not nearly as high as it used to be. Spinosaurus is likely gonna be nearly as large as prime Rex/trike. Give or take 10-12T as an estimate.

It’s big. It’s designed to push things around that come up to it. Rex is designed to overwhelm things before they can do much. In an ambush absolutely a Trex should def have a clear advantage because that’s how it’s designed. But you don’t just walk up to the spinosaurus who is far larger than you and expect to just put it in place without a proper ambush

I never said a Rex can’t beat a spinosaurus. It could go either way depending on a lot of variables. But as a slow dinosaur that doesn’t choose its fights, as an animal that cannot rely on fish alone, will have to hunt on land, and likely focus on pushing other apexs off of their food.

btw sorry for going off topic but this just reminded me, a few years ago dondi brought up the idea in a stream that they may make spino like a hippo when traversing through water. like not actually swimming but walking/running underwater basically and occasionally hopping up to the surface. no idea if this is still their plan but i remember it being something they were thinking about at that time. even earlier than this, in 2019 when a concept art was shown of the new spino being worked on for evrima, dondi wanted spino to be an ocean roaming predator. the idea at that time sounded awesome but idk how well it would work in the current geography and play style of evrima
