I was playing with a buddy giving the allo a try and we were chasing after a deer. i tried out the allos grapple ability and nailed my buddy, then i couldn't figure out how to get myself off of him... so he ended up getting killed and I'm not sure if i actually figured out how to stop the attack. how are you supposed to stop that attack once you've landed it? is it the same for the omniraptor?

I've not attacked another player as a herrera and have them immediately bite me as I land, unless they saw me. Call me "lucky", but generally people panic when something out of nowhere attacks them.
If you leap and you know you're going to miss, you can let go of the RMB before you land, and you won't make that shriek sound - a lot of people won't even know you tried anything. Also, landing on their head is only a good idea if A) you know you can kill them B) if a wall or tree is next to it for you to flee onto. This is still a gamble.

Its in a super weird spot rn, its hard to get prime because traveling across the map is completely at odds with its ambush playstyle. It also starves way too quickly for an animal that has to sit and wait for the perfect moment to strike. That being said, it might be the single most satisfying dino in the game for me, landing a successful ambush is super fun and playing active, scurrying to different jumping spots attempting to get a good angle to attack from is thrilling since youre a light breeze away from death at all times

I got this made a while ago, which should give you an idea about the range it might be able to hunt. A couple of omnis will probably pin you if you aren't careful, and pachys would be able to cripple you.
Its hitboxes are going to be interesting, because, at best, you're only ever going to hit a quetz's legs/arms and body. Headshots are going to be rare.
