8 gb of vram should be more than enough for 1080 gaming... it should be overkill. The only reason it isn't in this case isn't due to insane texture resolution or quality of models/materials, lord knows it isn't that.

Its just because of Nanite being aggressively vram hungry. The feature is unoptimized, simple as that. Its not the hardware's fault the software isn't handled well.

fair, but like... genuine question, do the mgs and pzs on the east side of the map even count? ive done about 3 or 4 stegos where I have hit every single pz and mg on the east side of the map (doing all prime requirements ofc, like sanc and perfect diet, etc.), which covers about 4-5 mgs and around 12 pzs, and every single time i've gotten frail

I had the same issue until I started getting the patrol zones from different mz areas, like the 2 mz's that are next to eachother in the delta region, just hit one pz in each one and that counts as 2 pz's, if you hit the same amount but inside the same mz, it doesnt count as seperate

Yeah the game doesn't let you edit those normally. Just remember, google is your friend when finding cvars to insert, and always set the Engine.ini to Read Only after you apply, and before you launch the game.

Yeah the human structures rely on LoDs but thats about it. Everything else is Nanite.

This can be seen very evidently if you do something like:

It'll render the foliage at essentially infinite range, with no decrease in fidelity, thanks to Nanite, but it wont affect things that are reliant on LoDs.

Its not really something up for debate, the game has Nanite force enabled and they are sure as hell gonna use it on most things.

Add the cvar I pasted, include the SystemSettings bit, and be sure to save it, and set the file to Read Only in the file properties otherwise it'll be overwritten.

Kinda sorta but not really.
I forget if its 6 or 7, or something around there, but past a certain point the engine just tries to uncap it. Higher values can still affect things like player render distance, animations, effects, and things like wind. But it cant change things with set distances, like LoDs or Rain. So its fairly limited all things considered.
