fish not spawning in the whole swamp, plus the new NV for deino is terribale to locate them
Life as a Ptera is still painful, no frogs, no fish, no toads, no goats even, on a full server. Dont know whats up with AI spawns, but I have spent 3 fresh spawns looking for some together with some other players, found nothing.
Patrol zones: big empty.
Surviving long enough to find some player leftovers is a roll of the dice.
I dont know why any thought this is a good idea but pls remove the feature again that Pterodactylus now chase u across the map and even GIVE AWAY ur location??? why ?
keep them a natural "clean up crew" and not a scout for everyone...
goat or crow to carno diet
Nerf bees
Dear developers! You could really work on the ai system. For 1 hour, we walked across the map towards the migration zone, which was in the swamp. All this time, an orphaned chicken, but not even a single cricket spawned. There were 15-18 people on the server, we didn't meet any players. I understand that it is a survival game, but it is very difficult to survive without food. That's not why we grow up with our dinos, only to starve to death. I hope my writing finds understanding eyes. I will continue the game if I managed to improve this and also to be able to choose where to start again. The latter was a problem even before the patch. Thanks: Villanelle
Please put the Seaturtle back to Deinosuchus Diet.
AI feels less, exept boars wich can't be hunted on most Young Carnis Solo
Balance Ai, theres no shot the only AI I see in the game is a goat or deer.
or its just me being unlucky. ( I have 350 hours on the game and I didn't see 1 rabbit AI I swear to god )
Second idea :
Let Ai bleed out ( And easily cause they are small ), and make them take fall dmg.
Real story that happend to me : I was an omniraptor when I saw a deer, I chased after it and didn't see anything cause I was hunting it in some forest with alot of bushes, I chased after the deer and it fell, I said to myself "Oh it didn't die and I have more health then it! that fall wont hurt." I died cause it was a 100 meter cliff, like what?
_----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(The reason I jumped off the cliff with the deer its because first of all I didn't think the AI'S are that dumb. and second of all I didn't hear the death sound effect so I kept chasing it)
make elite fish slower, or make it have to rest for a while after dashing for like 10-20 second
Give AI spawns a stamina system that feels fun, chasing goats, fowl and elite fish that go at Mach 10 in unbelievable directions is silly
for ai, it can really lag some people just due to how much there is around the map being wasted and not even eaten by carnivores.. while on the other side of the coin, carnivores struggle to even find this ai, whilst its all around them! making the calls louder and a bit more frequent can allow you to reduce the number of ai, whilst making it easier to find as a carnivore. if you want to keep the difficulty, make it more of a chase rather than an easy meal! encourage the main method to be bleeding out the ai as an persistent hunter. also grows different strategies and more engagement in the game!
ps, settings to reduce foliage quality ❤️
since the update i have been finding loads of ai, but 50% them are stuck on terrain in spots i know ai will spawn, while i know spots ai will spawn new players dont, contributing to their fustration
just lost another FG Deino cos no Fish spawned in. So stupid
I have no way to really prove this but, I hear boar sounds and then when I go in the direction they came from I only find and hear deer. I swear the deer are making boar noises. Has happened multiple times on this current live build and the most recent Hordetest.
Gotta love when no fish spawn anywhere for hours on end in swamp. Screw your half baked POS game.
remove need to let schooling fish rot to get diets for dieno
i dont want my fish to despawn because i didnt eat it between the magic 6-8 minute window its annoying with how diets work
Give the AI some sort of hearing range where if they hear you in that range they may stop and perk up to look, but if no movement is detected they will continue to graze. Once you make noise and they see you, they will begin to run away. If they run all the time then there is no point to sneaking and ambushing, and if they don't run at all, that's not a very fun or engaging hunt
gives carnivores the ability to smell the approximate location of AI
ai is getting stuck on steep hills ( anything steep enough that causes sliding). I have noticed this on Deer, Boar, Sea turtles, and Goats. Elite Fish tend to get stuck looking downward on the sides of rivers.
Ai needs pathing for when they are stuck for extended periods of time, I have even seen multiple and different Ai all stuck in the same places.
Ai footsteps and falling sound absolutely huge compared to their size.
I'll hear a massive thud and have a heart attack but it's a baby goat falling half a meter
In general, you shouldn’t make your way to a migration zone and there ZERO ai anywhere. I looked throughout the entirety of the migration zone and there wasn’t a single schooling fish or frog or boar or even other players for that matter. Shouldn’t be a thing.
Whenever it rains fish just poof out of existence....... that needs to be corrected.
This I think is a bigger priority then Rex for next update. Not starving is hard enough, imagine when Rex is around eating everything.
Add flying npc's such as pteradons that might try to peck on you or something like pteradon
In my opinion I give 2/10 for the AI, the AI are good but after this update it is very difficult to find fish on the unofficial server that I play on, they are complaining about everyone not having fish.
been 6 months and they still havn't fixed ai spawns since diablo patch. was at the peak of this games life too. thousands were playing. 📉 devs care about feedback, yep.
You Can walk around for hours with absolutely No AI spawns at all...
Which is very bad.
Lost my ceratosauras because of it...
Also Make MORE and Better AI...
Today I saw a Deer In the ocean....
What it was doing there? We may never know...
Deer are making the sounds of boar?
add dodos as an AI 🦤
Was playing ptera last night in the PZ and found a pterodactyls noise trap/tree spawn where they were flying around but no matter how many times I tried I couldn't catch one. Like, flying THROUGH them? Touch ground for 0.2 seconds and have my health tanked as they spawned in a cloud around me (they would despawn after 6 or so seconds or if I had flown too far away (maybe 20ft in game?) I really like the vision for the new pterodactyls, but the execution is a little buggy rn
Subject:
The islands on Evirma
Suggestions:
Wondering if there is a way to add ai to the islands as well as a couple more walkable land points to better connect them to the main land.
Reasoning:
The islands are also a part of the world of evirma. They hold potential to be a nesting grounds for all types as long as a few changes could be made or added. I went over to the biggest island by east plains as a sub adult omniraptor and explored the island. I was sad to see there was no food I could locate to stay alive. After exploring for a while I decided I needed to go back to the main land for food. Taking the same route I went to get on the biggest island I drowned due to lack of stamina. This was due to the fact i had grown to the adult stage and the stamina drain was faster. So the addition of a small landing in between would be fantastic. If only to allow the player to get stamina back. It would also make it to where more players would go out further to those locations.
I’ve noticed this in swamp mostly but I can go like 30 minutes wondering around swamp and won’t find anything but when I get to a certain part all the ai are grouped together in one little spot, it’s probably not supposed to do that
what has happened to the elite fish? why tf are they so fast bruv
increase the hitbox size of seaturtles and give them a hit noise i just spent 5 minutes pecking a seaturtle before starving to death and im not even sure if i hit it
ive been wandering around the swamp for one and a half hour and i still didnt find any ai
Just lost my freshly full carno to starvation man, what gives. I scoured everyyyyywhere. Also, what's with deer making boar sounds?
1 Small ai should spawn in a 100 meter radius when under 25% hunger as a carnivore and should have a cooldown of 30 min (rabbits and pisstis and a small chance of getting bigger ai such as deer and goat) i cannot count how many times I've died of hunger now adays because no ai spawns anywhere and if I do find something to hunt I'm already half way dead. A change like this won't stop people from starving but would atleast give a small chance at staving off death especially given how big the map is and how everyone's spread out (which is good). Also give mammal ai loud vocalizations so people can locate them
Elite fish r so OP lol
For the love of God, Were are the Fish's? 2 hour trying to find food as croc.
Elite fish are basically impossible to catch now
Bring Ava back and the ai not spawning problem will disappear trust me, you can hear those lil guys from a mile away
It’s sooooo much fun spawning into the middle of nowhere and running endlessly till you starve to death over and over because there’s no food anywhere. Broken game 🙄
Please add Taco ai to more carnivore’s diets
Would be nice to have frogs back to making noise and being more common. Maybe up their numbers but reduce the nutrients they give?
Elite fish are incredibly hard to find and when you do manage to find them they are almost impossible to catch at times. Please increase the spawns and slow them down slightly
impossible to grow a croc! why not start out full stomach? i mean atleast if not full stomach, more AI... traveled the whole river system from west access and not 1 single fish spawn... come on.. do better.
for server owners
a setting in the ini file that determines the number of active Ai (with an upper limit in order not to overload the server in the current patch/update)
Changing the current spawn rate doesn't help if most spawns don't work.
The big fish are too hard to catch as a croc unless they get bugged, the hitbox is way too little and they swim way too fast.
there is a spot where there is infante small fish and the elite fish infinity spawns as well and they don't move. It also works in at lest na5 and na4.
increase the number of fish respawns in rivers and lakes
I starved to death 4 times in my last playthrough as an omni because I didn’t find a single AI or carcass. I didn’t hunt any players because I was a baby omni. The only 1 hour and 30 minutes I had that day was thrown in the trash. I love this game, but I just can’t play with the dinos I like, having to use others that grow faster and with less effort.
floating dead fish is cool. but not when i need to eat XD
we need to be able to smell ai (at close range or whatever works really) if they are going to be this infrequent and/or hard to actually see
starving to death from finding nothing is too common and hurts player retention significantly
how much complaining do people have to do for the devs to fix AI rather than add new dinos lol
make fish spawn much more often, maybe increase spawnrate by 10x because small creatures need fish and cannot hunt big ai
make chickens and bunnies spawn in large groups since it will actually provide food and diet and its realistic
make these fishes slower they are way to fast and they also turn way to fast
where did the turtles go? been searching the beaches for 45 min now and havent found any, now im starving :<
have not seen a single ai on hordetest
Yeah fish and ai critters need to spawn more often in both migration zones because I can never find them
does it really make sense that a baby boar can nearly 1 shot a 44kg animal (troodon) when it probably hasn't even grown teeth let alone tusks? what's the point in making baby animals if they behave the exact same as the adult?
on horde test the Schooling fish give no diets?
Hordetest: As a 33% ptera I ate 2 schooling fish and have zero carb nutrients from them. It does work to cook the fish as a deino for carbs though. Will need a fix for ptera please. 🙂
On hordetesting the the Deer is alerted when you are like a "km" away from them (as Ptera)
I haven't played, and refuse to play, since they straight up broke the ai spawns about 6 months ago. It truly feels like the devs don't care. I've steadily checked this tab for months. Still the same issues. Do they even know this tab exists? I want to love/play this game. But I'm not sure why they're ignoring this problem. The game is already a substantial amount of investment in time for someone to grow a single dino. HOURS of dedication playing your game. Getting home and wanting to be a lil dino can be fun. But daunting and feels like a waste of time when starving is so common now. Why would I play? Haven't touched the game since, and neither has the group of people i was playing with.
I understand the lack of consistent AI is because of wanting hunters to hunt for themselves, to hunt players. With this in consideration, would we be able to make small AI more plentiful? Something only useful to babies or small carnivores like ptera. I think that goats, deer and pig are actually more common, individually, than chickens.
So that, carnivores too small to reasonable hunt players (Or to find fellow small players anyway, such as a baby carno COULD hunt a baby teno but - Is there even a baby teno on the server for him to hunt to begin with?) have something to eat.
Eventually they will grow out of that food source, but by then they should be a good size for hunting other players.
Make the mammal ai louder make them have atleast 1 big vocal broadcast. Otherwise you barely ever see them unless your lucky cuz they stand out like a sore thumb
It would be great to have small AI lizards, big insects (lizards already there for Galli, but boring) moving around for small carnivores, omnivores and ptera. The lizards could be agile. We don't need anything for free. Also AI horseshoe crabs would be nice and thematically great. There should be an sense to find them, like some birds have. Their eyes are awesome good. So the prey could pop up/glow a little or something like this. We still talking about AI, not players dinos.
Although I miss compies terribly, I think it's best that when we bring them back they stay off nests. Anything to encourage nesting more is to the game's benefit and given the new nesting timers and ability to scent and raid nests, I no longer think their particular type of nest terrorizing is needed.
On hordetest have starved to death on multiple pteta's, was only able to find a single school of fish, which despawned after eating a single fish out of it, no crabs, turtles, or frogs to be seen.
Goats should have less health/ weigh less than a small Stego
Pterodactylus are evil... had a big flock aggro on me (baby tenonto) and chase me nonstop until my stam was gone, and even angling on rocks etc. i apparently cannot hit them (hitbox issue or w/e I'm not sure)
NEEED more ai plzzzz the island feels too empty but dont make the map smaller!
increase rabbit spawn. i have never saw one in the isle
I am not sure if anyone reads this, for carnivores, my understanding is that patrol zones are area's that have had recent player activity. It might be helpful to carnivores if patrol zones had guaranteed AI spawns for the AI is on that carnivores diet.
fix the boar hitbox some boar killed me twice with their butt
fIX THE GAME!! NO AI SPAWNING LOST MULTIPLE DINOS TO STARVING!!! ABSOLUTE UNPLAYABLE!
can wenot have ninja speed fish? It is anoying to starve when there is ai around but too fast to catch -_-
We need more fish spawns everywhere and other deino spawns everytime i spawn at Swamps its not bad but there are no fish i played 5 times and 5 times i starved as i deino
Make it easier to find ai on land
make elite fish stay in the water
Starved to death as a juvenile herrera several times on an official server a few days ago. The most AI creatures I saw were maybe one or two deer. Found nothing at all to hunt in patrol zones and migration zones.
Larger ai? Shark, moose, bison, rhino, etc.
So my AI experiences in HT are:
- Small AI are not worth it since theyre gone with 1 bite and give maybe 1% of a diet (same even if youre smaller yourself. diet/hunger doesnt scale correctly on some dinos)
- mid to large AI seem fine in terms of food/diet values (maybe turn up diet values slightly)
- Never seen a deer or rabbit
- Alot of goats running around
- Boar spawns seem fine, maybe a little too rare compared to goats
I think the food and diet value need to be looked at to ensure that you can actually survive based on your diet.
Ptera or Beipi for example wont be able to survive on fish or crabs for example since they give almost no food or diet at all. Ive also read alot of complains about the plants having the same issue.
Otherwise I like the idea of the new diet system, keeping u on your foot always looking for a potential meal, but this system requires AI/Plant spawn and food/diet values to be fine tuned, otherwise it'll be too punishing.
What needs to be thought about is how to make nesting under these conditions more player friendly.
Some things I thought about:
-slowing down the food/diet drain while having a nest
-More AI/Plant Spawns around nests
-Nesting grounds with generally higher AI/plant spawnrates (might form hotspots)
Theres probably alot more possible solutions to this but something definetly needs to happen into this direction especially now that eggs are a thing
Why are there so many goats? Can we get goat on more diets or balance the other ai spawns to be as consistent as goat spawns are? Or both?
Ai needs to not spawn in areas can't reach
Goats spawn like the dickens around highland area and elsewhere, great for Dino’s that have goat on diet but not for others.
Make AI (exept for fish) much more observant, since they are way too easy to hunt. There should be a system where you need to be quiet (crouching and not roaring) while approaching, and you will also need to approach from behind so the ai doesnt immidiatelly spot you. Some ai animals have almost 360 degree vision irl, so you need to run at them or spot them from below or some amount of height like from a tree or from a river. But for the ai's that dont have the 360 degree vision, they can be approached from behind.
the amount of AI should scale directly with how many carnivores are currently on the server
I know this has been said before, but more specifically, I've noticed when I play as Pteranodon: no ai will spawn UNLESS there is another playable carnivore nearby. It seems like the game does not recognize I am a playable and won't register my necessary diets to spawn (schooling fish, crab, turtles, frogs, etc.) So I am only able to prevent starvation when I am in hot spot locations.
[Hordetest]
From my experience so far as a Deinosuchus, Elite Fish for the most part flee pretty darn well and consistently! There's still some cases of them deciding to faceplant into the riverbank now and then, but it's not nearly as bad as in the past. Keep it up!
👍
Horseshoe crab AI
Deer ai does not have a swim animation and depending on the amount of carnivores in the area more ai will spawn
add something for small carnivores where insects spawn out of a log and can maintain a little bit of food/prevent starvation when interacted with. somewhat like herbivores eating grass.
boar and deer are in too short a quantity. So far to find that I can't keep diets up to nest.
(also anyone else notice the deer make boar sounds now?)
months later and you still havent fixed the big fish AI, that plus the terrible deino undewater vision.. i checked the hoardtest, havent patched it there ether, come on, this is byond a joke
When you hunt the ai they usually just run in a straight line if you’re right behind them, making them turn randomly to try to “throw you off” would be more dynamic, and if you have quick enough reaction time you could get some dmg while it turns
can you make Tacos so that there like for Herbis are sanctuary food for Carnis? There dont need to give mutch of all diets but so that Juvis have a tiny bit of food at the start and dont need to hunt Ais that are rare, not on the diets list, to fast to hunt or just dont spawn.
For now Tacos have not mutch reson to be there, because there not on all diet lists.
Literally spawn in the middle of the jungle and with little stam I had I finally made it to the river only to find that NOTHING spawned. No fish or even ANY land AI ( Not that I expected any of those anyways ) You guys added all these features and yet still haven't fixed the AI spawn to stop people from dying from hunger
I still think boars shouldnt have 360° attacks.
Give it a certain range in front and some sort of turn radius slow so it doesnt just turn 180° on the spot.
That way juvis could actually have some sort of "fight" with the AI boars.
I think this would make being a juvi more fun since u can actually hunt things that fight back,
since deer are quite fast many babies cant catch them but a boar would just annihilate them like a juvi raptor, or herra for example.
Another cool side effect would be that new players could train fighting and test out dinos early on.
If this works as I think it would adding more AI like this would greatly increase the juvi experience.
Reduce the distance the Ai notice you
We need more AI, not less!
Add more small ai spawns. Chicken/rabbits/frogs for fresh spawns to hunt. Maybe near sanctuaries so fresh spawns can survive anywhere on the map and not need to suicide to get a better spawn
With reducing AI spawn and without fixing food/diet values for plants and AI/Player bodies its unlikely that hordetest will fill up.
I like the new system but the food/diet values just cant back it up enough so that its actually playable.
We dont need less AI we just need more variety of AI.
Plants are still useless (except the new one maybe gotta test it) and no one wants to play the starving game if they can just play the evrima public branch.
If u want to fill up hordetest you HAVE to look at the things backing up the new system. I think it has potential but I understand that most just see it as unplayable right now.
Also I think that capping the growth at 100% isnt the best way. I think putting the growth cap somewhere around 150-200% would be reasonable and this way dinos would grow faster/slower dependant on the food available in the area. Of course getting a higher than 100% growth boost would also have its flaws as your dino will need more food intake because of the faster growth.
Hey, can we please take a look at fish spawning. Third time i lose a full grown deino because not a single fish or school of fish have spawned in.
Fix the speed of elite fish like wtf
Version 0.17.47 Hordtesting
-Spawned as Troodon
-PatrolZone: empty
-Nearby MigrationZone: empty
-Nearby Sanctum: empty
Result: starving to death
Fazit: Gameloop consists of spawning in and starving = No Fun!
probably not going to happen but if you swim to far out in the ocean and instead of just dying you get a special animation where you are swallowed whole by a mosa
my feedback on the ai is there is no ai. Just died 5 times in a row to starvation!
can you make the sound of the flyes a bit less loud? I cant hear anythink when im next to them and i realy want to hear if someone run at me wile i eat my meal. ^^
An idea for Food in Patrol Zones for Carnivores
Right now Patrol Zones seem largely useless for carnivores. Every time I've checked them there's been nothing on both the live branch and ht. So what if there was a small percentage (say 10%) that a nearby patrol zone spawned a partially eaten corpse of something on the carnivore's diet?
The corpses would have 50% food or less of the base body, and only one, maybe two organs in it. Can leave out the stomach if needed for easier implementation and fewer possible bugs. Devs could also decide on whether or not to make the bodies rot, depending on what works for them and the servers. Letting them rot would add a bit of a time trial to getting to them for most carnivores, and possibly adding in a means for some to bait ceratos over, or giving ceratos an easy rotting meal to tide them over between migrations. Not rotting however means a carnivore can play it a little safer and smarter to get to the food. Either way, after a set amount of time, shorter than that of standard corpses, the spawned corpse vanishes.
It would remove the need for more AI spawns to keep carnivores alive between migration hunts. Rather than tracking the movements of a handful of animals scrambling around the map, the server would just have to track a single, stationary corpse that vanishes after a short period of time. The lessened amount of food means that only the younger carnivores can really thrive off them too, and it can give a chance for them to get some diets while they're too slow or frail to hunt preferred AI or other players, like the infamous challenge that is the fresh spawned raptor trying to catch deer or not die to a boar it wants to eat.
I'm in the north lake right now and there is not a single fish in sight. Please make it make sense.
elite fish is so fast, its impossible to catch on litle deino!
Make the elite fish even bigger and faster
Please look into A.I pathfinding and where they spawn...
a.i are repeatedly spawning in absurd locations and getting stuck on near inaccesible areas
Lower elitefish speed and its insane turns
Honestly now, walk me through it. What should players expect playing your game? Spawning, starving, spawning, starving? Is that how you imagine your game to be played? Newest hordetesting "update" and the PatrolZone -who guessed it- was empty again. No AI at all, or they are just wheally wheally qwuiet. 🥴 🤪
The root of the issue is still not being adressed here. Did u ever played an hour yourself?
The food and diet values have to be balanced out so you can actually play without starving all the time. NO ONE will play hordetest if this doesnt get fixed soon. I havent touched the game hoping for an update adressing this issue for a while now and it looks like Ill wait even longer.
Trust me no one likes being on the brink of starvation 99% of the time and when finding food doesnt change this one bit theres no reward only punishment. And if you actually played both carnivore and herbivore for an hour you would quickly see what I mean. Having a full stomach wont lead to bush sitting with the new system since u usually just look for the next meal as you will need it soon with your growth (btw the 100% growth boost cap actually causes more bush sitting than a 200% would do as it would be rewarding reaching it and still keep you on your feet looking for the next meal as you need more food the faster you grow)
Sry Im not here for a starving simulator and as long as that doesnt change with the plants and AI actually backing up the new system Im not gonna touch this game. (Besides the point that I dont enjoy playing on a 5 player server in general)
See you with the next hordetest update hopefully 🙂
Add a hunger value to AI so that a long-lived AI eventually dies if this isn't already in ( I don't believe it is because I never find dead AI away from other players - it would be similar to how legacy AI worked ), this will help prevent AI wandering to an inaccessible area of the map and clustering which will stop AI spawning elsewhere on the map and will also benefit troodon and Omniraptor juveniles who aren't necessarily capable of hunting anything on their own when they first spawn
AI should die from fall damage. Last night I chased a deer until it fell off a high cliff. Then it mocked me with a call and ran away like nothing had happened. The fall would have easily killed everything but a herra. So I propose making the AI take damage from more than just players.
question: will we get more AI for you know, people not to die of hunger perhaps? right now the game is a starving simulator
AI & Migration Zones
AI should be a piece of this world, an ecosystem that thrives on the Isle. As for now seems scattered, stupid and unrealistic.
Spawn (for example) 10 of them on migration zone 5 male & 5 female (of every spieces that lives in the area) and let them do pairs and have kids. Let them have needs as eating and drinking while also aging and dying by starvation or fall damage.
What would that accomplish?
Simple, if left unchecked they will start populating in the zones making the isle feeling alive, seeing them run around and besides that it will help smaller Dinos to learn how to hunt or stay hidden until the bigger predators fill their stomach with AI food. That is until the migration zone change and there is no more food there for them, forcing them to die eventually and de-spawn leaving behind "nutritions" for the earth to absorb and grow the next plants when the time comes (when the migration change again to that area).
That way all dinos will be forced to join the migration zone sooner or later, however the zones needs to be bigger to avoid one hot spot. For example a migration zone should be from a water source to another giving players more space to survive, hide or hunt.
Having for example 3 different Migration zones or 4 doing a cycle or popping in random so all areas on the island gets populated at some time. So basically you gonna enable 1 out of 3 or 4 areas on map forcing players to join the area for Diet, Hunt and Groups.
Tried to grow a raptor on an empty hordetesting server last night, hoping to have one for when the population returns, but in the entire time I was on (two hours at least), only a single chicken spawned over the course of my 2 attempts to grow. The patrol zone offered to me spawned nothing, and no further AI spawned even in expected places like South Plains and Highlands. If there were too many before, there aren't enough now at all. Low pop servers are simply unsustainable for carnivore players.
TLDR: AI spawns were nerfed far too hard.
Abysmal ai spawn rate coupled with the new diet mechanics leads to an incredibly difficult time for young carnis. Survival now more than ever depends on pure luck (i.e spawning near corpse / ai) rather than any sort of skill. Encourages even more hotspot behavior, with a ton of suicides if you spawn in some random corner away from ai or locations where you know other players (i.e scavengeable corpses) are more likely to be. Is this really what you intend?
I think overall the intention was good, the diet system is heading in the right direction, but the execution is incomplete and balancing of this update is still very much needed.
**Please make changes to AI pathing or allow scent of living AI. **
New Update, fixed loads of things... and only 2 changes to AI.
Added Elite Fish AI charge attack
Fixed some Animal AI sounds not playing
I am a little confused if the Devs think the AI is in a good spot, or if they don't know how to solve this issue.
For the sake of what they did change they added Migrations and since added fixes, and now patrols. However in my experience the problems still remain when looking for AI. So if there was a way to have AI not get trapped, lost, or totally seem none existent they need only change
A) Pathing: creating a limited area where the AI may roam and not wonder into little holes, cliffs, or the ocean.
Or
B) Scent: allowing for players to pick up the scent of living creatures like they do in real life.
Having the difficulty of hunting should remain, but I'm a Dinosaur. I'm using my Human Hearing,** Human Sight **to seek out food in a game where I play a dinosaur. This feels like a missed opportunity to feel like an dinosaur when I am limited by being human. WHY????
I have no idea why the AI spawn rates were reduced so much during the hordetest. could barely find AI before now it's even worse. Might as well just play as a herbi now. I've starved to death several times now I'm sorry that's not a skill issue that's a development issue. been playing this game for years now and this is not the first time I've had this complaint. AI was in a good spot a few times but then it gets reduced again.
Ty devs for making AI easier to find in this New update, i can finally explore the map, no need to go to populated areas. If you know where it spawns its really easy
WE NEED MORE FISH/LAND AI ITS ABSURD STARVING TO DEATH!
as a 30% juvie raptor, killed a large deer, ate it in only 4 bites and barely filled half my stomach?
utterly ridiculous
I thought i saw schooling fish were added to diet? still not on deino diet, is it bugged? is there any intentions on adding more AI to the deino diet cause lets admit that the Elite fish is the ONLY sustainable diet option for Deino AI, Can we get Schooling fish and Bore added at least? maybe sea turtle to compliment the saltwater mutation. I really think this should be adressed and mayeb talk about why it is still broken? is it a personal thing between devs and the Deino?
Thank you for increasing food values of ai and fish.
Now please do so for everything else (i.e dinos).
Player corpses are finishing way too rapidly, especially now with reduced ai spawn this means hunting in groups should be more rewarding. Currently medium to large packs will still go very hungry after each hunt.
Pretty sure AI is spawning as intended
Okay so accidentally fell on my 50% grown teno and broke my leg and was severely wounded, than the little ai flyer dinos came and attacked me but no matter how many times i attacked them they never got hit or died, so i got killed by tiny ai pteras.
Stupid that you cant kill them.
I just spawned in and a AI fish ate me before I could do anything so I'm not dead and just in the fish????
The little AI birds are apparently overly aggressive and will chase you to the ends of earth until you die of lack of everything. x.x was in river delta and while nowhere near any trees by the water a little swarm decided I wasn’t allowed to exist and chased me for 10 mins out of the area and would not let up like little angry flying Jack Russell terriers. In the end I died but I am fairly certain that it wasn’t intentional game design. Couldn’t attack em, couldn’t run away, couldn’t eat, drink or hide. Death was the only escape. Wouldn’t have been so bad if I could actually kill them to save myself.
Remove or change fish ai attack. Experience: Being killed repeatedly on spawning in as a Deino by fish, unable to escape their grab and no way to fight back
Sooooo I’ve been on for hours at a time here and there today after the update. So far…I haven’t seen, heard or even sniffed AI. So can we like get that turned back on please???? Cause there’s like nothing on any of the servers. Especially NA 1 and 4. I saw maybe one rabbit that was broken and stuck in the open and heard like one boar. That’s it. Nothing else. We need our food back between being able to find people to eat.
Please make the big fish only attack and not insta kill, I think it's a very bad idea to make ai one shot anyone without any counter mechanic
(Especially when It doesn't leave a body for other players to eat)
Making the elite fish speed ninjas and only give 3% to a full grown gator makes no sense. Why force us to put so much effort in for so little reward? All these new 'updates' feel like downgrades and the fun is being stripped from this game.
No AI at all:( My friends and I were baby omnis and spawned in swamp where patrol and migration was. For a whole hour and a half, only one boar spawned and we ran the whole swamp for anything. However, we died twice.
Cant catch any elite fish. Pls make them slower.
Elite fish shouldnt be aggressive, or strong enough to kill small critters (other than maybe hatchlings, that the parents can defend).
I know big fish eating smaller critters is realism, but unfortunately it doesnt quite work in the game. At least for now.
In real life those small critters are able to hide in underwater plants, or camouflage/blend in with their surroundings so they dont get eaten. In the game this doesnt work, and when surviving with a small deino is already hard, I dont think we need aggressive elite fish on top of that.
Elite fish are still needed in game in large numbers to feed deinos, so balancing the numbers of elite fish to be enough to feed deinos, but not too much to be extremely difficult for juvie deinos to survive, is practically impossible.
please increase the spawnrate of ai on land... or at least lower the hunger drain
Slow down elite fish. Way to quick to escape in open rivers.
Significantly reduce the HP of turtles. I understand they are a shelled creature so 'realistically' they should be tanky ( as realistic as a sea turtle that refuses to get wet is anyway ), but as ALL they do is run away ( slowly ), and don't fight back, its not very fun gameplay to be a juvie pteranodon taking like a full five minutes walking after it spamming left click to kill a turtle lol
Just re-downloaded after months to see if the AI spawn rate/system had been fixed. Spawned into a random place (don't get to choose anymore... okay), walked the entire length of the northern coast (about 45 minutes, probably), and only found 1 chicken -- and I have a sneaking suspicion it only spawned because I was almost starved to death. This is why I deleted the game a few months ago. Your beautiful map feels empty and boring. What you have, as long as this issue remains, is a good-looking starving simulator.
***This is the most fundamental problem with your game, and should be the absolute top priority to fix. *** ...that means before you make any other new additions
I'm starting to think the devs don't actually read this feedback or play the game themselves.
Please help the aquatic dinos out by spawning a single school of fish or something if there hunger is below 20%. I traveled literally the whole swamp, top to bottom to west swamp, traveled over land to the south pond and had no fish spawning and ended up red from hunger
Theres just more and more depth being put into the diet system with no AI around to help us make use of it, im a 70% omni rn and i got through with a couple of frogs, a boar every few hours and a lot of running around. Not starving to death shouldnt be the top priority of this game, especially since you have diets to focus on now.
Elite fish should not be able to eat larger things.
was eaten by one as 85% Beipi. I was exactly the same height as him
I spent 30 minutes searching around as a baby Omni and failed to find any ai, eventually I found a single goat but it was immediately eaten by an adult carno
played for 4 hours, not seen a single ai
Give back the AI that we had like 1 year ago, nobody had problem with it. Or we need a new staff whos watching what the community wants.
Thats why I just talkin about that horrible stupid af MEGA FAST food dropping down. This isnt playable. Especially for new players like me. I main raptor, I starve maybe twice... Now? I starve ALL THE TIME cos IVE NO TIME TO FIND ANY AI or idk something not guarded..... Like I beg devs change that food drop timing like it was before...
Remove the large AI fish's ability to 1-shot beipis. Let beipi buck/attack while grabbed to escape being swallowed, rather than have it be an instant death with no chance of escaping if the fish spawns in front of you while you're swimming.
Tried to play as a croc now the 4th time... spawn, lookin for food, no fish and no player so died cuz of starvation... shame
Feel like there's a common theme here -- spawn, no AI, starve quickly. Water should run out before food.
Ran as a herrera from western lake to swamp and up the delta, im at the bridge right now. Havent found a single school of fish during that entire trip. Been surviving off of the Mutation that makes me loose food 30% slower and 5 frogs so far. I didnt find a frog in the swamp in case youre asking. How you gonna make diets even more important without any possible chance to fill them?
Playing a lot of beipi and I have to say that my number one death reason is the attack of the big carp. Even though I could one hit it, sometimes when i do other stuff like foraging it just comes out of nowhere grabs me and presses me into the ground until I suffocate or just eats me. Since they just randomly spawn it is really frustrating when you cleared out an area and stuff like that happens, I would like you to reconsider the grab of the fish or add on a mechanic to buck out of it for small dinos, like beipi. In general im fine with fish AI attacking
30 hrs on officiall and 1 boar, 1 baby deer, and 1 school of fish.
No AI. People starve before they can even get to a good point to play their Dino’s. AKA no one will want to play your game a lot faster now. Revert the AI back and give us more.
No AI, and bad spawn for ptera's coupled with ptera's feeling like an average american rather than a flying dino.. Allow schools of fish to spawn on the coast, and check if spawns are bugged, because I saw zero fish in any of the fresh water sources, and zero crabs on every coast, met many players including players who were experienced who stated they have been starving repeatedly trying to get out of west access due to the lack of food, I played for 5 hours today and 90% of my experience was flying across the map after starving repeatedly on west access coast and lake, trying to get to south plains, highlands lake, water access, north lake, and the rivers leading down to swamps, and in all those trips I saw zero fish, zero crabs, zero chickens, zero Psittacosaurus. I did see plenty of goats, deer and boar, and at fresh water sources I did see frogs spawning, and at coast I would see 2-4 sea turtles at a time, but again no crabs. On top of these struggles of finding food, is also the gameplay of ptera being extremely tedious at the moment, stamina recovery and drain is a bit too punishing especially for new players trying to learn how to even play ptera, and the west access spawn doesn't help, if new players decide to go to the coast, they have sunk all of their altitude, and must now expend an extreme amount of stamina to get out of the pit once they realize there is no food on the coast, and the trip is just as bad if you try to go highlands or south plains, with what feel like very short bursts of flight to overcome terrain, followed by 4-5 plus minutes of sitting on a rock regaining stamina. Reminder that juvenile ptera's weigh around 1kg, it should not be that punishing just to even take off or do a short sprint to take off, it seems odd that flapping my wings 3-4 times takes more stamina than sprinting twice that distance on foot. Maybe as an adult at 45kg that would be more reasonable.
AI feedback
- Thank you for bringing taco back, they are the perfect dino to hunt as a small carnivore and I missed those calls immensely.
- The ability to dig out burrows is great, these small interactions add a lot to the immersion.
- Ai calls are infrequent, I often hear a deer call once and that's about it. This makes hunting and tracking very annoying/feels impossible as well.
- Please give boar attacks that can be read. This would make hunting one actually possible as right now as a small canri you get hit from its butt so you just have to wait till you are big enough to tank their attacks and not take too much damage.
- Maybe add juvi dryo ai in sanctuaries so canris can go running around catching them there.
Why can one of the AI fish gulp down an entire fully grown Beipi without any counterplay? I understand that Goliath fish are a thing irl, but atleast give us some counterplay, please.
ai should get a complete rework like i mean no deers no gaots or boars they should rather add dinosaur ai
feels like there’s no AI at all, especially with the diet rework it’s getting really hard to get started on a fresh spawn juvi
Schooling fish should be added to the deinos diet at 3 dot. Reason being King fish can wax and out run baby dienos and for balancing out the diet
What about spawning AI for carnivores in patrol zones? This would help a juvi to survive its first day without starving.
i think carnies should be able to scent AI´s like i dont feel its fair Herbie gets Sanctuary with all 3 nutrients as juvi and also they can scent the PT and MG zones and when they get there they can scent their food also. but Carnies just to bad nothing but left overs to scent that is usely guarded by the killers or made into a trap by deinos :S and yeah we can scent the PT and MG zones witch are full of FG herbies so sure we just gonna kill them no problem am only a juvi herra :/ also why is it herbies are getting all 3 nutrients from shrooms or same zone but most carnies cant even get 3 nutrient from AI´s :S
Is it just me or are Compsognathus ai spawns just completely screwed? I havent seen one in almost 2 months now and it was always fun to hunt them down as a troodon like a little snack. Plus its kinda weird that as taco got added Compy dissapeared?
got stuck in the mouth of big fish after it died
It seems like it's harder to spawn fish in the swamp than anywhere else? I would like it if the swamp spawned MORE fish since it, well, has more water. Might make it less of a starvation trap for herra and anything else unfortunate enough to spawn in there that's not an herbi.
im not gonna complain about fish spawns anymore...
The AI can detect players from WAY too far away I was playing as ptera and had AI running from when I was like a mile high in the sky. This is why nobody can find AI they can detect you without any kind of line of sight and way too far away. Makes it that you have to hunt in the plains where it's extremely dangerous for juvis. Not to mention they're running off and getting stuck in rock crevasses or meshing with the side of a mountain or running to the middle of the ocean. Not to mention they have eyes in the back of their heads. Still a long way to go before Envirma has better AI than Legacy because at least in Legacy the AI had limited stamina and couldn't detect you from behind and could bleed out which gave legacy a much more immersive experience.
AI are getting stuck more than ever and also not making noise, for the first time in a long time I almost couldnt find ai while checking all the usual spots I know typically have a goat/deer/boar. The only ai I found in this time were stuck in trees or on rocks and I only happened to run into them as they typically stop making noise once stuck. I got offline so I didnt starve which I havent had to do in a while
a picture speaks a thousand words
Make schooling fish give three dot diet without the need to let it spoil im sick of it despawning just after it started giving diet
NOTE FIx elite fishes speed WHY ARE THEY MACH 10??? there no point in chasing them unless they get stuck they are faster than a adult dieno with swim speed mutation
sometimes im getting chased by those flying ai pteras out of thin air. They often chase me till my stamina is gone and i cant do anything about it, except to hope that they disappear the same as they spawned right in.
I dont know if this is the right place to put this, but the other day i was trying to hunt for elite fish as a deino, and i finally found and killed one, only for its body to fall through the bottom of the map. I feel like they're having collision issues with the ground sometimes, which may also contribute to them getting stuck
should a little piggy baby one tap a full grown full hp troodon ? i dont think so
it is nearly impossible to grow a deino. Elitefish is far too fast and you cant just eat schooling fish, because you cant find any.
Finding any deer, boar and goat air is almost impossible they aren't very common
I have been trying to play the game again 3 days ago after a long break and I cannot grow any carni without starving to death, I have tried for hours for the past tree days. It is very frustrating :/ As a teen raptor I finally found a deer as I was just about to starve, as I was going to eat it the lil bird Ai's started to attack me so I had to run away, they never left me even when I ran outta stamina and ended up dying..
Consider adding flying ai birds like seagulls that can be killed and eaten mid-air by fliers like ptera.
maybe... slow down the elite fish a bit? i cant eat one as a dieno
When AI dear first spawn that sounds like boar, please change that.
make the deer, goats and boar as common as these
burrows mostly spawning where we cant reach them
Elite fish should not be one-shotting a fully grown adult Beipi. Twice I've had the unfortunate luck of diving right on top of one, and just slightly touching it insta-grabs you without so much as an animation. There's no way to even struggle free of it, you're just dead.
can we make ai make more noise? taco makes a decent amount of noise but the modern animals hardly make noises at all. maybe this will fix the not being to find ai issue
Please make it so AI that have not being interacted with for several minutes nor have any players in the region despawn. We are starving and cant find the AI, which are probably hidden or inaccessible.
I thought that Psittacosaurus was one of the reasons why AI was abnormal. Their nests would refresh in the grass. Unless you just walked on it, it would be difficult to find it. Imagine that other AI such as wild boar and deer have been eaten all the time, and there are more and more nests of Psittacosaurus hidden. In addition, AI doesn't seem to make a sound normally. Sometimes when you listen to the sound approaching, it stops making a sound, which is just cheated for many people.
For such a big map one would think that there would be an abundance of life but oh boy been playing starving simulator for the past 3 hours and have not encountered 1 Animal please for the love of this game fix the AI spawns so that they spawn more frequently or just the number or set areas aroumd the map where there are guaranteed spawns
Take back legacy type of food spawning, this type that we have at the moment.... We have Patrol Zone (Empty) we have Migration (mass) zone , its empty. If its raining, we cant hear the AI, Deer giving the same sound effect as a boar when spawning. Nor you cannot find AI on plains. Do something about it, cuz its not worth to play carnivore, herbivores having sanctuary, mushrooms, and when they get full grown, get into a 8 pack group and nobody can touch them XD
Baby beipi is unable to eat a frog, even though it is on the diet. Only G to GRAB is an option, yet beipi is unable to grab it. E to EAT is not given as an option. Needs fixed.
Not sure if it’s already a thing, but could we make it so that pteranodons are able to agitate a pterodactylus sound trap and lure away a few to kill and eat? The only place I ever see them is in the sound trap trees and I have been unable to interact with them as a pteranodon.
The small black birds that will attack you in certain areas, they normally go away when you get far enough but this time they wouldnt go away. Followed me for miles.
For me, its really difficult to find ai when i need it, maybe I just dont know where to look for it. But i always starve.
Increase elite fish spawns please! And also how much they give deinos! Can't believe school fish gives more hunger and (diet when cooked) than a giant babi deino eating 'elite' fish
why is there no schooling fish for 2 days straight in highland lake? im starving to death
Hey, I don't think these are meant to be unkillable and follow you indefinitely, and if they are, this is genuinely not a fun interaction in the game
I've played omni about 4 times yesterday, dilo twice and teno once. Surviving as a carnivore is absolutely outrageus, just as you spawn in it takes about 15 seconds for your food to hit 75%, and even with the 20% slower food depletion mutation you are dead of starvation in about 30 minutes. AI is extremely hard to find, no noise, no clear directional indication, the ambient sounds are just way too loud to hear obvious AI noises like goats cooing or deer whistling. Out of the 6 carnivore attempts I've starved to death 4 times and was killed by players twice (mind you, while still extremely hungry). By the last starvation I just jumped off a cliff to restart on an herbivore and have a CHANCE on living further than 15% growth.
It is not only anti-carnivore, but anti-new player.
It would be way easier if AI had certain scent trails as well, or have spawn carcasses/bones around on the maps in addition. Sanctuaries do nothing either, haven't seen a single juvenile (98/100 pop), and we cant eat the all diet mushrooms. I've played 2-3 hours of carnivore and all of it was death. I am a new player, but it's making me not want to play the game at all.
When pteranodon holds the scent key, schools of fish underwater should light up with a gentle outline to show where they are at high altitudes. This would be similar to how seafaring birds can see fish more clearly from above. A small qol thing for an otherwise frail playable
Idk if anyone else is having difficulty with the frogs, but as a full grown hererra, I would bite at it 4 times before it died and there's no way I should have been able to miss it.
Also, can we make the deer, boar, goat, frogs, etc. Have like some sort of scent or SOMETHING? It doesn't have to lead you directly to it, just to footprints or something.
I also think these AI would benefit from being slightly louder, as they're still really hard to hear in the rain. The tacos, the sound of the rain gets interrupted, so shouldn't the other AI work in the same way?
As above, if ai sounds were accurate, loud and interrupted rain sounds similarly to tacos, that would be such an amazing QoL change. Would justify the ai spawn decrease.
Pterodactyl keeps following (bug) only others are able to see it, does not deal damage.
elite fish should not attack beipis, or at least not full grown ones, its just an annoyance having to constantly look every which way to see if a fish spawned under you
Sounds traps are still as worthless and unfun as the day they were introduced; hostile ai that cannot be attacked or eaten and follow you for miles.
AI doesnt exist and if it does exist you cant find it or you're too small/weak/slow to catch up? Why isnt there an indication when you smell as to where the AI COULD BE not where it is just a rough area?
Dilo AI will spawn next to you in the trees and then fall down since it has nothing to stand on... So it's pretty much constantly raining Dilos next to you. Not sure how this interaction goes when you in one of those trees with huge branches if the AI can land on it and actually attack you. But for now this interaction is pretty broken!
Aside from balancing Ai, i.e. locations, what kind of Ai and quantity, Carnivores need to be able to sniff out their respective ALIVE Ai prey. That's a serious quality of life mechanic that would boost this game and not seem OP. Living things hunt other living things via smell from miles away sometimes. Not just footprints. Trees and fruit don't smell stronger then a warm blooded animal.
-Pterodactylus are no longer viable as an AI prey. I have never seen them outside of their death spirals, since the update, and you cant seem to attack them in the air or see'em on the ground.
-Any Dino that has things like crabs on their diet but can't hunt for them, should be able to. Example: Ptera. Cant dig or smell for their little spots to dig them up but can dig up the bigger burrows of the Psittacosaurus.
Thanks for Reading.
please slow elite fishes down
One thing I found is that AI animals can see players and run away at a very long distance. Probably because of this, when you follow the sound, AI animals have found you and are far away from you, and in the process, they no longer make a sound, so you have just been deceived in the forest and can't find them.
AI despawns incredibly quick, i have killed a boar and waited around 2 minutes and it has already been despawned. I couldnt eat becouse i am a young carno and i dont want to overeat and puke. please fix this
Im a player who usually avoids hotspots to have adventures around the map, but in this update im being forced to go to hotspots. Playing carnivore this patch is just starving over and over. The AI is NONEXISTENT, even spawning somewhere completely remote i cant find food. This is just leading carnivore players to camp spawns.
Please, we need a hotfix, something...anything.... playing carnivores is just not worth it or fun at the moment 🙏
spawned in North Lake as Deino on one server, zero life available and patrol zone on land, started to starve, logged out and waited a few hours, same thing... so logged out again, went to a different server and logged in at swamps as Deino, went to patrol zone and checked all around it for AI, zero life, logged, gg, seems like an empty game void of AI to me unfortunately at the moment, or maybe I was just unlucky? regardless that shouldn't happen ever
4 dilo lives (all with the hunger mutation btw) lost on a 50-75 pop server because I couldnt find a single AI. I followed players to Patrol zones, Migration zones and finally sanctuaries before dying of hunger.
Games literally unplayable unless its full pop and even Then its not worth my time atm to keep bashing my head against the wall when im doing everything right.
they're.. evolving? (elite fish flying out of the water, saw 3 just in south plains! server is NA5)
the AI brids are bugged i logged out on my teno while they wouldnt leave me alone a few days ago and i just logged back on to it and the birds are still there attacking me and i have travled quite far from where the birds started attacking
Would be wonderful if the primary sources of food for Ptera (AI) would spawn without us having to touch the water
please fix the ai spawns, how am I supposed to get that?
Also the beach that stretches between south plains and west rail, the tacos spawn on the cliff sides
[TIP] When it comes to the fish AI, you can hunt it easily even as a baby deino; as soon as it detects you (either runs away or swims towards you) swim upwards - then just go down and kill it, it will act like it doesn't even see you... I'm sure it's an intended feature.
Ive been playing for a couple hours and I have not seen a AI the entire time and starved through 4 Herras. No fish, no land spawns, and only corpses of other herras which just something I could nibble on without preventing vomit. PLEASE Just fix AI, its getting to the point after coming back for a couple months. Where I might just leave and hope it gets fixed MONTHS AFTER I put this game down... Like seriously? How is this STILL an issue?
In the exact same boat buddy and I swam from the top of dam lake all the way down delta (almost to the swamp) and then back up and ran to plains river to find maybe 3 fish the entire journey. So we loaded up on Carnos instead and starved to death 3 times a piece even when looking at the Islemaps animal sightings. Extremely disheartening to waste so much time on for nothing. But also maybe we just suck at the game.
I think it would benefit gameplay to make AI spawns more biome-specific.
For example, deer could spawn predominantly in plains, and their spawn rate could be increased in that biome, similar to how turtles reliably spawn on beaches. The consistency of AI spawns in certain areas makes hunting and survival more predictable and satisfying.
Currently, hunting for boars feels very vague because the hint that they spawn in "all land biomes" doesn't offer enough direction. It would be much more helpful if players could have a clearer understanding of where to find specific animals based on their environment. For instance, if I spawn as a juvenile carnivore, knowing that certain AI are more likely to be found in certain biomes would guide my exploration and survival strategy, rather than wandering aimlessly or hoping to stumble upon an abandoned carcass.
remove half of the turtle spawn and make the timer 45 min so we wont have dilo plagues anymore. also increase boar deer goat.
make the baby pig ai defensless, i refuse to believe a new born pig is stronger than a baby dilo or raptor, even if they are babies they are still big dinos who rely on hunting to survive, they cant be weaker than a baby boar
Add more fish food in the water I'm done everytime I'm a deino there's barely any fish in my area I have to go on a adventure to find some fish
Either im blind or there is nearly no land AI. Roamed the map as Herrera and starved 5 times because i only found 1 boar. Not very fun.
I noticed that AI is detecting us from extremely far away and immediately running away, possibly ending somewhere noone goes or trapped. That might be a reason why players are starving, not just the spawn itself. We could really use a fix... im an experienced player and even so ive been starving multiple times as carnivore. I was helping some new players with the game but decided to just set carnivores aside for now, it wasnt being fun starving every gameplay.
:/ i had now 7 deinos die in 2 days due to me spawning in the Swamp and AI was nowhere to be found 😦
there were some indicators for fishspawns but they were in a field of mud and nothing was there.
my last deino died because of dehydration when i was trying to escape the swamps.
idk if anyone else is having fish ai problems with them being no where? lost 2 deinos to lack of food. at some point yall gotta work on that. This is getting annoying
I honestly feel like this is the worst iteration of AI since i've bought the game
I love the isle and would really like to get into it again, but finding food has become almost impossible sometimes
Every juvi Carni should have Psittaco on their diet, I also think they should spawn at every sanctuary instead of 2-3. Herbies have their pink mushrooms; Carnies get their yummy tacos.
Literally havent seen an ai all day, please buff the spawn rates or something so that all of my carnis dont starve
Just had a problem where a fish grabbed me the same second i killed it, got stuck and drowned..
Is any other person having issues with finding ai in the water? Because usually where I am there's mutliple fish spawns. And now there is none.
i mean, ive found ai but...
I came here to say this. Delta Dam area barren even though tis right in the middle of MZ
Could we please get small ai spawning in the Juvi sanctuaries such as tacos, chickens, and rabbits. I know some new AI is coming it'd be nice if at least those spawn in juvi sanctuaries. I don't know the last time I've seen a rabbit, chicken, or crab. I don't think I've ever seen a crab in the game.
I literally dont understand the devs thought process. HAVE ENOUGH AI SO THE GAME IS ACTUALLY FUN TO PLAY
Personaly.. I find frogs and fish dont spawn enough. but thats my take
why does a baby pig kill me instantly when i touch it lmao
Honestly the biggest feedback I can give right now is that AI do not spawn enough. I've recently played I think an additional 20 hours on carnivores alone doing my best to survive and have found it pretty hard. I don't know if it's because significantly more players are trying to play carnivore because herbi diet is bugged and I'm just unlucky when it comes to finding those spawns or if there is a secret trick like nesting to make AI spawn more, etc.
I come from the legacy branch and I'm still pretty new to Evrima (maybe a little over 100 hours) but I shouldn't starve to death on troodon 10x imo because I'm too small to hunt anything (can't even find things to begin with) and my diet is even worse. Growing anything large recently has been a pain (I even struggled to stay fed and feed a group of 4 dilos).
In addition to this, while I know many people might not share this opinion as a player who does Nest and likes to pass down the mutations I do think AI spawn rates should be turned up around nests. This would encourage players to find a pair and also pass down their genetics via mutations. I think the skin mixing has been a wonderful edition and I'm excited to see what will come of the future for nesting but; the incentive to nest should be food or some other benefit for parents.
I believe that this would truly benefit the game for the future to come with generations to be passed down etc in addition give players a reason to wanting to nest / easier time at growing. (Especially for new and inexperienced players) I believe with how little AI really feeds you that this wouldn't be game breaking.
Suggestion: Increasing AI spawns slightly & increasing AI spawns near nests.
hey um found some Boars and Frogs that had spawned inside of a rock. this may be the reason earlyer why i thought the spawns were bad for ai food. sometimes the a.i. just plays keep away. might be something worth looking into
Please Nerf the pigs Damage output. pigs shouldnt be abble to kill 90% of creatures on the island thats insane to me.
how is any other dino supposed to get this cliff deer lol
AI should spawn more in patrol zones or migrations cause they are just way TOO HARD to find at all.
and with some biomes and "ai zones" being... strange at best... having your diet highlight when IN AI zones that can spawn them (plants as well) could help assist
Nerf boar AI’s hitbox. It’s 360 degrees and can hit you with its ass
IMHO elite fish shouldn't hunt and one-shot a full grown beipi
tired of them coming out the embankment or a wall basically, and then just eating me before I can even see it
there are no fish spawning at swamps...
A predator making a 1 or 3 call should trigger at least an auditory reaction from nearby AI.
This could be enhanced by making AI produce a "scared" noise when fleeing a predator...
Also we should be able to sneak up on AI
The birds in the trees that attack you when in close proximity, chased me for like 20-25 minutes as a Stego in the east Jungle migration zone. Had to log out to get them to sod off.
pls fix the ai spawn. There is way to less 😦
PLz add more Dear and goats in patrol zones.
solid 2 hrs, death of starvation and not a single ai spawned anywhere near me. This game used to be fun. No wonder no one nests anymore, we are all too busy starving.
people having issues finding AI need to learn where they spawn (AI are also not tied to any of the visible zones like patroll and migrations but would be nice if they did)
if you check some YT vids there are some people that have mentioned where they spawn
fish spawns... there are some "fixed" spots of the water where they like to spawn and they also like to spawn in clumps so if they spawn in a clump somewhere like the swamp... you will have trouble finding it so yeah
It would be nice to have some AI spawning in groups
So uh can we talk about how AI can somehow spot Deino’s under water?
…
Like, excuse me?😭
Please make it where AI don’t spot deinos a mile away underwater at that. Its another big reason as to why deinos starve.😭
Thank you and I hope everyone has a lovely day!❤️❤️
no elite fish in north lake?
Cant find a single fish as ptero
AI should suffer bleed damage and die from it as a player would. Today I pounced a deer as a baby raptor and dumped my entire stamina bar into bleeding it. Fine with a juvi not killing something larger, but that really should create a lot of bleed for a deer. It then took off running down the beach, where it ran, and ran, and ran, and ran. I tracked it for awhile as best I could but it just kept running while bleeding. I feel like any playable dino of a roughly similar size would be long dead after a full stamina bar of bleed pounce followed by running the entire length of the swamp immediately after? AI should bleed out while running.
Give AI stam pools please, I will spend full stamina bars chasing after them and they just keep running. Also make them killable by bleed
Can you make it so that the Ai perhaps go to the next waterhole every hour? So that you don't walk around like a madman for hours without finding anything.
Ai is pretty difficult to find even if you go to where they spawn, id suggest making carnivores be able to smell ai at a smaller distance than they can smell meat so it’s a bit easier to find, or give them predictable behavior, like they tend to gather at a specific spot, like hogs tend to be around the mud or somethin, or make ai spawn in pz more often
I've been sitting at a pond for 30+ minutes and no fish have spawned in
i never find ai and i am constantly starving as a baby
fish ai has 360 view, it makes it really hard to catch elite fish. It detects any deino from really far away and the only way to catch it is if it bugs on terrain. Maybe being able to sneak on the fish if you go real slow or when his back is facing you would be nice. Anyway it needs something involving more skills than luck. By the way, the diet mechanic for deino is awesome ik deino are constantly hungry, but having a good diet feels even more rewarding and i really feel like i have to find food. Hunt and all that. I love it
on Ptera I'm having trouble fishing in HT because the Pterodactylus AI keep attacking me before I can make it to land, and keep stealing the fish out of my mouth, I'd love it if there were a cooldown before they can start to scavenge, so that I can make it just a little ways to eat the fish I'm catching
Probably been said already, but AI do not spawn nearly enough.
Ai spawn needs fixing to spawn on accessible terrain and rabbit, crab, and chickens either need to be fixed so they spawn regularly or removed from diets.
Watched a 2 hour and 26 minute in game recording with the entity outlines on and found that easily half of all ai that spawned within render were on sheer cliffs (not at the top on the cliff slope itself) only herara could reach. tacos were worst offenders spawning on cliffs easily at least 2/3rds of the time.
Map attached is the route i took yellow dots are approximate locations of spawns, not type/number/ or on cliffs or not.
- Most common Ai by far were Tacos. Almost none spawned on accessible terrain across the entire map. Worst offender was fully inside the stone wall on the left of the final waterfall at south plains.
- Almost all remining Ai were deer, most accessible, a few spawned on cliff faces.
- A few frogs spawned at north lake, only one in delta all accessible.
- 3 boar total spawned, 2 accessible babies 1 by tiny lake east of delta, one near delta bridge. the 1 adult was on a cliff face, inaccessible.
- 2 goats spawned one kid near beach after i left harbor, the other the north side of highland lake, both accessible.
- Zero chicken, rabbit, crab, or turtles spawned.
Dino played was a single Dilo.
on hordetest I walked around the whole map and didn’t hear or see any AI except one frog
maybe they’re bugged? it seems impossible to find any AI
I have discovered an issue?
in the server with AI, a simple question, where is the friking ai?!?!?!
Especially there are no fish, it feels like all of the bandwidth is going into those damn birds
endless cycle of compys
Got to say... I really HATE the taco AI when playing a PT... they make their call that seems to be them throwing their voice... some times they are great singers but then silence and i dont see them or any burrows around and the times i do find them they are not even in their listed Biome... wtf
Compy Squid monster spotted in highlands on hordetest server. Also taco calls seem absent since small pteras are everywhere
https://youtu.be/2fi1HPfuKmk
compi AI run through air
Killed a Dilo, sat next to the body and was ran up on by AI lmao. Newest horde testing branch update.
pterodactylids kill freshspawn pteras almost immediately while in the air with a fish. i had it for less the 2 seconds before death zero chance to land and eat.
There is fish everywhere in swamp and the river system east on hordetest. Been there all day lots of pheesh also maias
Rat king of compies
maybe the hordes of bugged out compy are what’s responsible for the lack of ai around the map?
I have a suggestion for ai and how they spawn
Location ai: these should be ai that spawn from burrows or spawn on specific points of the map whenever a player is nearby. Should be a location that players can memorize and return to
Transient ai: ai that spawn in small numbers and never despawn. They can either roam freely or walk specific pathways repeatively to give the game more liveliness (this might be good on large AI)
Randomly generated ai: basically AI in the state they are now, they spawn in random fixtures of the map, usually in places of high or low player density
It’s always bugged me that the goats etc weren’t like… released from the domes (as they’re clearly where humans would be able to get food Out to us). Maybe like a few in-game times per in-game day you could release a drove of modern prey animals from the domes. The rest of the AI in the island could be excused with “these are the ones that got away and managed to run and breed babies” etc but for the most part it’s always really surprised me that there wasn’t a human-caused goat distribution system set up on the island. getting new AI population should be a human quest/challenge when humans are released.
im on hordtest rn and the server just restarted and we came back to this
me and this random carno were equally baffled about this compy spawn situation
more fish spawn for deino pls we are starving over here
More ai.
Make that AI spaw even if is no one there, or spawn in carnivore spawns, like:
Dilo diet spawn on dilo spawns, or before it spawn, something like that
On the hordetest, servers with AI enabled seem to have desync issues that the no AI servers don't have. Every few seconds, movement will jitter a bit, and I can only assume that somehow AI is responsible. I don't know how that would be fixed, but currently it is a bit annoying
Huge swarms of the 'birds' (I can't remember the name of them off the top of my head) in west access. They're also forming 'clumps'. This image is from just south of the mud pit at west access.
After starvation, finally found this desperate moment, bug pig.
Isn't there something wrong with you guys with this amateurish development problem? I'd like to file a national petition for a refund if it's possible.
Please wake up. How long do users have to suffer and stress on servers with bugs like this?
not sure if this is how it's intended to work, but a whole SWARM of those little bird ai came and demolished a little troo body I was guarding. Tried to take em out and defend it, but it was like it just kept spawning them xD
accidentally created a circle just alt biting through them. Looks like some sort of weird ritual circle.
I do not understand why there arent better tracking mechanics, at the very least for ai. These dinosaurs wouldve relied heavily on smell to find prey, and it wouldnt have only been tracks and blood, there should be some sort of way to smell an ai thats at least around you, instead of running around like an idiot hoping you hear a specific call, which is also a huge blocker for new players who don't know the difference between the million different ambient sounds and actual prey. Adding a way to smell them, maybe like a little pig or deer icon on the compass, would make hunting actually worth while instead of making it entirely based on luck and prior knowledge of the game.
increase chicken spawn rate.
It seems like every time I’m somewhat near ai they just stop making noise, making it almost impossible to find in a thick forest, please make ai make noise even when you’re near them, just starved twice because of it. And I’ve tested this many times and they do just stop making noise when something’s near them. Thank you.
we spaened in killed a goat the birds came and everytime we bit them they just respawned
Please those little bird ai are incredibly annoying as a ptera you cant outfly them and within 2 seconds they’re swarming your fish and if you’re a fresh spawn there’s nothing you can do, you’re one shotted
Not enough AI spawns. Sometimes there's absolutely none for long stretches of area that seem unreasonably long, especially for younger dinos.
if ai count is already reduced, and so often people can’t find ai anywhere, maybe temporarily disable the big compy and ptera hordes? they’re bugged out most of the time anyway
ppl talking about "there is no fish" every day for over months.....shouldn't be hard to tune it up a little right?
These Birds are relentless ... im not sure how they are called but these two birds followed me through the whole forest, glitched through terrain, were invincible to my bites while being able to damage me. burned through about 55% stamina until i reached the coastline and they left me.
no idea why they behave like heatseeking missles but if you are a smaller dino these things will annihilate you
Add ai nests to the game which are formed/spawned by lizards and birds when they are added. Would make carnivores and especially omnivores ability to eat eggs more common and usable since it can be a rare occurrence to find players nesting. They wouldn't give as much food or nutrients as player eggs but it would still be another source of nourishment, mainly for small/juvi players.
bro ai just doesn't spawn in the ht. Played dilo for 4 hours and didn't see a single one wtf
I have a suggestion regarding actually tracking ai.
Not only is there either absolutely no ai or there will be a weird amount in a very specific area but they are incredibly hard to track by scent as is anything really. At this point, I just abandoned scent completely and go off sound which has proved over and over more successful than trying to by scent yet there will be times going off scent that I’m running around in the same area until I’ve starved not knowing what the ai even was and nor did it end up in my stomach :/ so it would be really nice if there was a way to not exactly pin point but at least make it easier to find where it is, especially if it’s small ai that doesn’t necessarily make incredibly distinct sounds or any sound at all. :)
more and better fauna (bots)
why are there so many ambient noises ALL THE TIME? I mentioned in my last bit that the game's hunting shouldnt be so audio intensive, but if its going to remain audio intensive, could we at least remove some of the extremely constant ambient noises that make it impossible to know what to listen for?? And if it's not random animal sounds, its oppressive weather events that last like 15-20 minutes where you cant hear anything, and then you starve. maybe im just bad at the game, but it seems like a bit much
There is literally no effing fish anywhere. Why. This has been a problem for years now. What the hell
give deers red nose like Rudolf for Christmas
AI just feels cruelly lacking for baby dinos. Like, we don't have enough options and our little leggies can't run far enough before our tummies take us out.
Increase AI spawns/diversity and spawn timer. It seems like a certain amount of AI spawn in an area until all them are killed/eaten, if not they will not respawn. If they spawn in as a group the group should have a timer like 15-20 minutes of existence, once they reach the timer they vanish for another set to respawn near a spawn zone; Or give each AI its own timer so that when it eventually runs away from people chasing it or passing by it doesn't run to the end of the world or to a cliffside deep in the forest not to be found, it will eventual respawn. I've noticed with frogs that spawn in groups of 4 until you eat or kill them all they wont respawn in a pond, and the only time they do respawn is if you swim in said pond a few times. Also to make it easier for baby carnis give AI stamina and the need to drink water so they can actually get a chance to grab something. Better yet make it like legacy when you're hungry AI will spawn somewhere near you 🤷♂️ its getting old walking around for 2 hours not finding any AI, just bones and rot and maybe a half eaten body if I am lucky.
TL;DR give AI spawn/respawn timers in groups or individually, give AI stamina & need to drink. Also make AI not see you underwater or 30 yards away that's the main reason we cant find any AI it runs before we even know its there.
Swamp is such a comfortable and beautiful place to grow for deino but the lack of fish and frogs spawning makes it really tricky to stay there long. A few times I’ve gotten lucky as a fresh spawn and found a corpse to scavenge off of but other than that I’m basically delta-bound especially as I start to grow in size. Would love to see some more frogs, schooling fish and elite fish in the bigger areas there to sustain between hunts and during the smaller growth phases! Thank you
make ai spawn more or make them easier to find! i literally cant get a dino fg on evrima cause i starve everytime
Cant even fish as juv ptera anymore, pterodactyl are like heatseeking missiles. I've died 7 times to them now...
Bigger AI like boars, deer and goats should spawn around active migration zones and patrol zones, rather than spawning around carnivore players.
With how AI is right now, spawning around players, carnivores will crowd around the standard 24/7 hotspots like south plains as they know there will always be players to fight and AI to eat. They can entirely ignore their migration zones and patrol zones to go to these hotspots. This makes it so that most of the map is left unexplored and for many players the game is not experienced to its fullest. This also makes it so that herbivores, who can not ignore their migration zones and patrol zones, as no food spawns outside of them, can have a quite boring gameplay experience, as their migration zones and patrol zones can often be completely devoid of any players.
The proposed change to AI, making bigger AI animals spawn around active migration zones and patrol zones, would incentivize carnivore players to actually go to their zones and even out the player distribution around the map. They would know where to find AI with guarantee, that being in the zones that the game directs them to.
Can you make it so that the Ai perhaps go to the next waterhole every hour? So that you don't walk around like a madman for hours without finding anything.
The pteros that attack fishing pteras are ridiculous and barely work, they swarm instantly, they're way too fast, take your food and hurt you which is extremely rough on fresh spawns. They're also unkillable, so if you have the brilliant idea to use fish as bait to attract pteros and kill them for their lipids, it won't work.
Pls add bigger AI for carno and cera (and all the other big predatores to come) wich provides them with a descent ammount of food.
add more ai variety, IE avaceratops and orodromeus (reworked)
bring back compies 💚 the ai swarms were interesting and made the ecosystem feel more alive. I understand there were a few issues with them over-swarming or depleting bodies too quickly, hopefully those things can be sorted out and we will see them again soon! also it would be nice to see variation in the swarm sizes, a couple compies vs a whole swarm after more time passes etc etc. performance never changed for me when the swarms were enabled or disabled. just the same old random fps drops in jungles
Remove the pteros that attack you as soon as you grab a fish from the water. The Ai will spawn out of thin air and just take your fish as soon as you get it. Ptera is hard enough to play as is, plz fix this.
There are no AI´s anymore?? Whats happening!!! I spawned in 1 Hour ago the only thing i saw is a Chicken!!! pls fix this !!! This is a Survivalgame not a fight to live game ??? am i right!???
im not sure if this is new because of the latest patch to the hordetest but boars seem way too aggressive. If they're gonna two shot any fresh spawn that gets near them, they shouldn't be chasing after players unprovoked
bring ai to na2 HT. no ones playing on it due to no ai
Remove pterodactylus they are incredibly buggy and a overall nuisance, keep them in the trees as a alarm BUT they do not chase you (to prevent them infinetly chasing you) stop them spawning in any way other than the trees, its impoosible to play a pt because you get jumped the SECOND you catch a fish
Whats going on with frogs floating in the air? And fish schools floating above the water? I was a Deino and heard a frog, look up and about 50ft or so, he is swimming in the air.
Since sanctuary mushrooms don't benefit carnivores, letting young carnivores smell nearby ai until they grow too large as their sanctuary-equivalent could be helpful. This would help newly spawned carnivores avoid starvation before they can really fight while not dissuading them from hunting players once they grow large enough to do so
Ive been running around for about 2 hours now and found one rabbit. Ive died multiple times now to starvation sue to not finding food anywhere.
spent an hour and a half and didn't see any ai
If possible, please reduce the flight zone for ai. A majority of the time, the ai disappears before I catch sight of it simply because it’s able to sense me through bushes and hills. At the very least please make it so we can sneak up on ai by crouching or something
Pterodactylus are especially annoying after the update. Was anything changed? I'm being instantly chased after catching fish and they are mostly invisible. Why can I not damage them? Thankfully I'm fully grown right now so it's not too much damage, but I can imagine it's unplayable as a baby right now.
Maybe distract the pack if a player drops a fish? Why are they attacking me if there are 3 unguarded fish on the ground?
I'm being chased by invisible Pterodactylus for miles. Why are they as fast as a sprinting adult Pteranodon?
Maybe there could be a sound que that they're in range to spawn if you catch a fish?
Maybe make it possible to outrun them.
Do not spawn them on a player as soon as they catch a fish.
Maybe only spawn them if the player is within range to see the actual Pterodactylus pack?
Let Pteranodon players damage them.
They are just especially frustrating because there is no counter play at the moment. with how scarce food can be there should be something Pteranodon players can do.
ai is silent quite often, either making no noise or only very infrequently
Where has the ai gone? Hours of looking, multiple starvations, and only a frog. Any help is appreciated.
There seems to be something seriously wrong with AI spawns or behavior in the latest patch. Experienced non-aquatic carnivores across at least NA2, NA4, and NA5 are struggling to find even a single deer, goat, or boar after hours of searching, and we are seeing far far more herbivores as a result (who invariably end up in huge herds which lone carnivores also can't predate on). I've seen large clusters of overlapping taco nests without a peep to be heard, so I suspect it's an audio issue rather than a spawning issue.
I have to agree. I found one single sea turtle after starving to death at least a dozen times. Proceeded to starve to death after that. The only food I ever come across now is dead carnivores. Not sure what changed, but it doesn’t feel very good at the moment. I played for about 5 hours, finding ONE AI in 5 hours is ridiculously low.
Feedback: I just recently downloaded The Isle and I must admit that for example something like Deinosuchus is nearly impossible to grow further then 40% now I do realize I am noob in quiet literal sense, but the thing is as a newbie it's not even hard to survive due to the competition and other predators or hell, even herbivores...it's primarily due to the fact that there is really nothing to eat...No fish, frogs, hell not even a bone and that's one of the things I wanted to point out, I suggest adding larger amounts of AI pray for the juveniles and hatchlings to eat since it's hard you are simply gonna stumble on a corpse.
Now, the fish are not really helping, the way you get 0,5% food or less for every fish you eat as a fully grown deino is ridiculous. You starve to death every singe time you play as a deino, before it was like 12% food for 1 fish. I'd say that it should AT LEAST give 2% a fish bc otherwise you will just starve. or make the food drop slowed bc rn this is just a big joke. Its so dang hard to just walk into people or just a random corpse when you can sometimes not even smell it. So pls do so the fish gives more food than 0.5%.
Ever since the new update a couple of days ago, I've been finding it nearly impossible to find any AI (unless its directly after a server restart) I've been finding it almost impossible to play fresh spawn carnivores without starving, maybe they just aren't spawning for some reason? Whatever it may be I hope it can be fixed/altered because I can't find a darn thing. (For context I've been on relatively full official servers, and although the AI spawn rates differ due to the server population I haven't managed to see a single AI since before this update that aren't pteras)
I had a similar experience. After restarting servers, the AI appears promptly and is easy to locate. However, after four hours, it becomes impossible to find anything, perhaps, a lost and disoriented frog once in a while. They won`t respawn cause its bugged,.
I dont know whats wrong but everything was fine at horde test what ever you guys did AI spawns after server restart then couple hours later they do not spawn or just standing near rocks and not making any noise
Anyone know what my isle settings should be on I had them on something but it reset it self and now I do not know what to do.
not a single fish
Need more variety of AI that roam near water!!
ducks, otters, bats, freshwater crabs
There genuinely needs to be something done about the AI spawning on gateway. After the recent addition to maia in offical branch, its been incredibly difficult finding AI. Not even walking on pathways seems to spawn them.
I have went many hours walking around the map just today to find absolutely nothing. It's gotten so bad that entire areas are either mixpacking or playing herbivore in order to survive,
I know you have heard this a million times, and I know you want players to be incentivized to kill others for food rather than AI, but with how huge the map is, and the 100 player count, its just not feasible, ESPECIALLY if you are solo/freshspawn. You are either too small to kill anything around you, or you have the canni which isn't and enjoyable player experience at all.
You know its really bad when you literally have people making alt accounts to spawn in as whatever herbivore, die, log back in as their carnivore, and grow that way.
I know you guys have the ability to spawn more AI, i've seen it before in community servers, and we've seen it with Legacy. Please take in actual player suggestions and feedback, because this recent update makes me think we are all just talking to a big brick wall.
Starvation is a serious problem without a ton of combat going on around the map to scavenge off of. AI is seemingly nonexistent.
As a new player, I went on forums becuase I thought I was doing something wrong because i kept starving/ not seeing anything as a raptor
Special ai to sanc for carnis
i hope you realise how annoying this is
there has been no fish for a whole 3 REAL LIFE days at where im at
and i cant move because its locationlocked
please increase the spawnrates
PSA for the PT players.
after you catch a fish just hold shift (it uses less stam now) and fly to a spot to drop the fish, after a min or so the ptero anti eaters will go away and you can eat your fish
AI is plentiful and nicely balanced for about one hour following a restart.
After a fair bit of experimenting I've noticed that the experience of playing carnivore is really, REALLY different if you start one immediately following a restart. AI is all in its proper place, easy to track, calling regularly. I've been able to catch upwards of 10 ai critters in the time immediately following a server restart.
As more time passes after the restart, the AI gets harder and harder to find. I've many times now come up on AI clumped in one hard-to-access area, or seen it be chased off by large herbivores just existing nearby into rocky graves or completely different biomes. The respawn rate seems low, I presume because these AI end up in inaccessible places and for performance, the game doesn't want to spawn new ones.
If not already implemented, I think it would help a lot if AI despawned when a player hasn't gotten close to it for a while - maybe as little as 10 minutes. If these trapped, clumped-up, out-of-the-way entities despawned, it would leave room for fresh spawned ai to appear in the areas we expect them, hopefully lessening the "there's no ai!!!" problem.
AI calls can be kind of misleading. I hear a boar call out and it sounds close but its actually across the map.
not sure if this is a bug or not, but my little baby freshspawn dilo ran up to a baby boar, bit it, and just died. 1 shot. Idk if an admin slayed me for some reason, or BABY boars just do ungodly amounts of damage, but either way that shouldn't have happened.
Spent an hour in the plains never saw goats (where they spawn) or chickens and when AI did spawn it was 1 boar that 1 shotted me, who made that? why add boar for baby’s if they just kill you?
theres literally none bruh i ran over the entire south part of the map as a carno and starved to deaht because there was nothing from swamp to south plains
(I made sure it was not a no ai server)
yes i tried migration and patrol zones
respawned, got the northwest part of the map. Went all around that tiny pond to the big dam. Found a single taco (which made me puke twice for some reason) and 2 balls of pterodactylus which i cant exactly eat, then promptly starved to death again
❗ The number of AIs in the current version is not the main problem, I'm looking at the way the AI dodges the player through the admin's perspective, the main reason why the player can't find the AI is because the AI's alert range is too large, causing the AI to find the player where the player can't see it at all, and then start to run away from the player frantically.
😅 Currently the only feasible way to find AI is, when you hear the first AI sound, you have to immediately run towards the exact direction of the sound, so that you can find the AI, but this way is still very difficult for newbies, and even for some of the veteran players are also very difficult!
So the key is to slightly reduce the AI's alert range, which is more reasonable, otherwise, facing a self-perspective and alert radar range of the AI, players too difficult to find and kill it
And currently, there seems to be a volume bug in some of the calls of some dinos and AIs, which makes it even more difficult to find AI
In addition to the reasons mentioned above, there are also some Psittacosaurus AI that are not very mobile and particularly small crab, bullfrog, and rabbit that occupy a proportion of AI
🤝 I can understand that after all, most players are not admin and cannot see the actual number of AI, but the fact is that there are quite a few AI when u check them as an admin. It is because the AI alert range is too large, and AIs start to avoid players from very far away, causing them to not find AI and think that the number of AI is too few
🧐 If you don't believe it, you can go to the plain. If you see an AI very far away, you can try walking towards it. You can see that the AI starts to avoid you and runs away from a very far distance, not to mention that there are many forests and bushs on the current map, so the AI will be frantically avoiding you before you even notice them
It’s 100% not perfectly fine, my guy.
There is something v wrong with AI.
Every patch we say carnivore starvation is the worst it's ever been and I'm saying it again cause rock bottom becomes deeper.
Here's the root of the problem and the solution:
AI should despawn after 10 minutes of spawning, as long as no damage is taken in the past 60 seconds.
Currently it is easier to find rotting bodies of starved carnivores than it is to find AI, which is horrific.
I think the spawning system and locations are fine, it's just the pathways that are completely messed up leading so much ai being unavailable for majority of the players, and it just sits untouched on a cliff or faraway beach until the next server reset.
Allowing to continuously spawn and despawn ai is a v healthy way to balance things without increasing total ai numbers, therefore maintaining performance and not making it too easy for carnivores by having too much availability.
Also please increase player cap for all servers to 120 or even 150. Plenty of unofficials run perfectly fine with this number. This will not just help fix the lack of food problem but in general massively increase player interaction.
Hello! First, wanted to say Happy Holidays to the team; thank you for all your hard work.
When you return, please prioritize getting the ai working again. It’s incredibly difficult/frustrating to get a carnivore (besides maybe Cera) to a pvp viable age where it can reliably hunt other players with the current issue.
Thank you again.
the ai pteros are just annoying. i cant even catch a fish as pt without them instantly swarming me and biting me which causes me to drop my food
What is the significance of the invincible pterodactyl AI? It just creates more bad experiences for players. Dinosaur AI has been away from us for many years. Can we pay more attention to these things than those puzzling things?
I again just died as a 100% Deino because of starvation , For the third time, not enough people, not enough food from fish, from the realism standpoint when did a croc die of starvation? Modern Croc hunger can last for weeks if not months. So this guy being so huge should last at least for a couple of hours in game. Deino used to be fun and sometimes stressful now it’s just stressful. I still love the game and support it but the AI was perfect before the big update couple of months back.
Reduce the time it takes for AI to respawn, its takes so long for AI to respawn rn
In reality, crocodiles eat fish as their staple food, and it is an occasional thing to ambush their prey for meat. I think the punishment for fish-eating crocodiles should be nutrition rather than hunger. Isn't that how you explain the nutrition mechanism? Hunger should be an uncommon thing, and malnutrition should be a common thing.
I keep dying of starvation where ai
Put the fish back to the way it was before, also fix this god awful movement the deino has in water.
Give the AI stamina. It would make them a lot more fair. You'd actually be able to hunt them (or even survive them if you had to).
You know those pesky little pterodactyls? Not only are they every ptera players worst nightmare, but now they've gained superpowers?! I'm not even joking yesterday I was flying around and started getting hurt mid-air randomly? It forced me to drop my fish, and but it kept attacking me even after my fish was off me! I found a safe spot after taking WAY too much damage (I was on red) and circled back a little to try and get more food, as I was literally at 5% hunger, and the mysterious force started attacking me again! I was low on stamina, and for some reason ptera isn't fast enough, so I died.
Yup. The pteros are now invisable, have infinite stamina, are faster than pteras if they aren't holding shift to fly faster, and will attack you even if you don't have food for them.
REMOVE THESE GUYS AT ONCE I SWEAR TO GOD- OR AT LEAST MAKE IT AN OPTION FOR UNOFFICAL SERVERS TO DISABLE THEM.
AI literally non existed, might aswell remove it.. 3 Hours spent with raptor not a SINGLE AI in sight, when i was a fg maia i was seeing AI literally everywhere deer, boars, frogs, every single thing.. but when you're carnivore then there's none
In fact, this game has a lot of AI, more than the previous version, but now AI starts to escape from you at a very long distance.
When the server is restarted, they are still in the normal position. After a long time, they will be driven to the inaccessible position, and because they are not dead, they will not refresh the new AI.
First of all: happy holidays to the team!
Second:
AI has been super difficult to find, even in the common places they spawn.
I play as both herbivore and carnivore and have heard AI and have seen it as an Herbivore, rarely do I see it as a carnivore. Their alert radius is way too sensitive.
Can we at least have a scent trail that leads you to where AI spawn and what kind it is?
Basically have to wait to start a dino after restart or have a friend sacrifice a dinosaur so you can eat them because otherwise you starve.
Also, why does the fish give so little hunger to deinos??? Adult deinos get bigger fish, right? So why are they giving like .33% or whatever it is to hunger?? Also, why aren't they just on deinos diet?
https://www.thedinopark.com/deinosuchus.html
According to this their diets consisted of everything, primarily sea turtles. So, why isn't everything on their diet? Also, there should be more fish. I know deinosuchus is an apex predator, but it feels more that they can never move because they have to eat constantly, which means you're always popping out of the water to eat fish because you can't eat underwater for some reason, which then alerts whomever is nearby. Also, the Dilophosaurus is not on the deinos diet, for some reason.
Please, please fix it. There has to be a way to make it where AI takes less of a toll on the system to allow for more to spawn in.
You have a huge, huge map. It is devoid of life. I've seen three Deer, ever. No Boars. Or any other type of prey.
The Swamp? I've never seen a fish spawn, period. Let alone any other type of food - except for the mushrooms in a Sanctuary. It is a near deth sentence spawning in the Swamp.
Please try and fix this. The game is nearly unplayable. Maybe talk to the guys at Rust and see if they can give you any advice on Animal AI?
I think a lot of AI is stuck in the mountains or in the mountains ... but so ... you can try to look along the mountains.
There is no AI spawning at all for carnivores, the jungle has always been a death sentence but now even the clear areas near lakes dont spawn in any..
Yeah, the game is pretty much unplayable. Spawning as a carnivore is a death sentence unless you’re near a hotspot. It’s pretty much required to go to them ASAP now, feeding on all the starved carnivore corpses lol.
As herbivores I have seen a crazy amount of ai
would lowering the prioty of ai spawning on herbivores so carnivores can eat do?
The only time ive ever seen AI was when i play herbivore, I really hope AI could spawn as a carni aswell :/
When I was a deino nothing spawned, I sat there and fish never spawned there and I starved not to mention, normal ai barely spawns too?
Just chased a rabbit as a baby troodon for 7 minutes. It never ran out of stam, didn't take damage falling down a mountain and I did.
Give the smaller carnivores the options to eat in the beginning. Preferably something slow enough that hits register
Thank you to the team for the ai fix patch. Already so much better. Appreciate you.
I was chased by ai birds from a sound trap tree from full to nearly no stam. The range of these ai birds is ridiculous, especially when you can’t even attack them back to defend yourself
I just played as a Pteranodon and fished. Once I caught something, some AI birds spawned inside me. They are too fast, they do too much damage, and they just spawn inside you once you catch something. In addition, you can't really fight back.
Agree about the birds attacking Pteranodon. It is immediate spawn and automatic damage that cant be prevented. Please rework a bit.
Make Ai spawns like legacy where the hungry you are the more likely stuff is to spawn around you. You can make it so certain type of Ai only spawn in certain area and this would for one reduce the lag form Ai randomly mass spawning in 1 area for no real reason other than players are near (even if they aren’t hungry) allow for going to certain parts of the map to try and get diet Ai as juvi/sub is worth it and over all improve experience as I know I speak for many when I say that starving to death because nothing is near you and no Ai is spawning after growing for how ever many hours is hands down one of the most frustrating things as it plagues every carnivore of all sizes.
For example I was playing dilo awhile ago we were about 5/6 deep and making decent progress until the super horde jumped on. They were 7 cera 2 dibble a troodon and full stego deep. They basically scoured the entire map wiped out every herd and group (we lost afew 70%+ dilo to them too) and made it impossible to find players bigger than fresh spawns to eat. While roaming we attempted to find anything at all and ended up having our whole group of 5/6 at 50-93% starve to death in the span of a hour as nothing was spawning and what few juvi we found were not enough to sustain even one of us giving barely 10% hunger at times. The whole group got off rather defeated after that.
Edit:( I note mention of Ai currently being bugged so I’ll keep my eyes on dev blogs to come)
Ai is still incredibly difficult to find a few hours after restart, as others have said the problem is that they run from everyone and then eventually get either stuck or super far away from where they're supposed to be and never despawn. I just had to log inside of a MZ because I've been running around like a chicken with its head cut off up and down trails, to PZ's, to MZ's, and absolutely nothing has made a sound so I'm at like 10% hunger. Could y'all just have AI either despawn or over time make its way back towards MZ's/PZ's since they theoretically would eat the food?
Isle Evrima is a starving sim rn :( fix Ai
i don't get it so for raptor diet is Boar but i can't find any of them
think some people forgot that this exists but at the top of this page reads:
QA will be monitoring this channel for feedback on AI in EVRIMA. One message per suggestion and give reasons as to why you believe the change would benefit the game. Posting troll comments will not be tolerated and will result in being muted from typing in this channel.
too manny people have mentioned multiple suggestions in one post. stating multiple things are not working is one thing but doing miltiple suggestions to fix different things makes the react voting null as some people wont vote or will vote due to 1 of the ideas or against one.
the little birds that attack pteradon are messed up, why are they even on the diet if you cant attack them
Hope this isn't to much to ask, but could we go back to the times when AI actually were around- That was nice.
I feel like legacy did Ai way better.
To be honest, I just started the game. I spent three to four hours starving to death before I finally got lucky and ate a freshly killed dino. The only AI I've seen in the game is fish. I'm aware that you have a lot of these saying that. But it does seem to be an issue.
we need more ai please
Adding to the volume of feedback, there is not enough AI! I’ve 100 hours in the game, and play quite frequently. Ive never had a problem not starving, as I grew and began to rely on players for diet, the threat of starvation grew but not to the degree that simply playing the game, and setting aside time to hunt AI to buy me some wiggle room before the big meal wasn’t possible.
Now, however, I’ve just spent 3 Omni lives, and 2 Cera lives, traveling along the paths throughout the entire map.
Unfortunately, I saw only a single elk spawn across all of these lives, and was forced to rely on scavenging other juvies which had died of starvation just to get by.
My gameplay loop, more than ever, relies now on going to the hotspots, and it seems I’m not the only person who adapted this way. The disappearance of AI, appears to have exacerbated the already commonly voiced issue that the map feels empty.
Before, while the map did largely feel empty, you could somewhat explore and count on AI spawns preventing starvation, allowing players to go other places rather than the two major hotspots.
Now you see almost no players anywhere. Because they just starve unless they b-line to highlands or south plains.
This has also largely isolated the playing experience of Deinos, as not only are fish spawns incredibly rare now, but further, the concentration of their prey items being in generally inaccessible locations for them (unless they devote an enormous amount of time to work their way into the water systems of these hotspots, potentially just starving in the process purely on luck) - has left the Deinos mostly just eating each other.
And no, not in the “it’s how we balance their population” way, more so, that’s all they have to eat. The ambushing experience is remarkably rare now.
To summarize, the lack of AI currently spawning has significantly altered the experience and gameplay loop for the worse. I hope if this is unintended it becomes a priority to fix. Cheers 🍻
Happy holidays. Is this the right place to comment on AI behavior I've seen? If the interaction I saw was correct, I really like the direction that's heading, but if not, it's one of the strangest bugs I've seen so far. I was at the beach sanctuary after restart and saw a taco carrying a live rabbit around in its mouth. Do tacos hunt now? Real question
Yesterday my friend tried isle evrima for the first time.... We tried to play herra for 2 hours we starved everytime. Its frustrating. Something needs to change.
I don't know if this was mentioned before, but I tested official servers and hordetesting servers officials, and the results were pretty clear: On Hordetesting there appears a lot more ai (pretty much the same amount as before the patch) and on the regular officials there is basically zero ai to be found. I tried it on different servers and the results was the same. Needs to be fact checked by others but for me this was very one-sided.
This please 🙏
As a beipi I've been in east lake, swamps, and delta and seen no fish. I've seen one or two frogs but it wasnt enough!
5 hours in a migration zone. Back and forth. Moved to 2 different zones. Not 1 dino AI spawned even after the restart it's like they are all west of map and never make it to the east or even swamp lands. I work day shifts and can only play at night. When no one is on so I'm on a fish diet daily...please fix this.
I have not seen a single AI to hunt in patrol & migration zones. It's making the growing up process of an omniraptor very difficult
I went from hatchling to 60% grown and never saw a single A.I, the only time I ever ate was when a deino took pity on me and fed me fish, I never got diet at all so it was probably an hour and a half to two hours with zero A.I anywhere
Non Dino AI should appear on the scent radar of dinosaurs that have those AI on their diet. EG crabs, frogs, goats, boar, etc. All should show up as a small boar, rabbit, crab, etc icon on the scent radar.
Elite fish shouldn't be able to insta kill a full grown biepi. I feel like the only reason they can do this is because of the deino.
Of course if you want a fish to insta smaller deinos that's whatever but it becomes an issue when the size that deinos are killable by fish is large than a full grown biepi.
I think full grown or even sub adult biepis should get a pass from elite fish.
that isn't even considering realism where a full grown biepi in this game is heavier than most adult humans.
With all the new players joining up, now is the time to bolster ai numbers to what they used to be. Knowing where AI spawns isn't always enough nowadays with how fickle the spawns can be, so imagine being a brand new player trying to grow a carnivore and not even knowing where to start looking.
tacos (when they actually spawn in) should make more noise when you get closer to them because right now you hear them from miles away, but once you get closer to where you last heard them they're silent
to say something about it short story u forced to fight others as a baby cause u cant find ai AI is so rare too see and u find more pigs over anything i played like 50-100 hours and i found in this time 2x goat 4xpig 1x deer so PUT MORE AI IT TAKES 10 SECONDS TO PULL THE LEVER UP TO MORE AI PLS IM BEGGING and all the other evrima players are begging too
16 hours of playing now on multiple servers official and unofficial without seeing a single ai. No dinos, animals or fish. Nothing
bought the game, gave it a damn good try! near 40 hours on record games AMAZING in so meny ways..but I cant play it. More often then not I just starve to death. I cant ENJOY being a prehistoric Hunter if there's nothing to hunt but Players and there all on the west side of the map and it keeps spawning me into the jungles... Please I beg of you! the Food Desert situation is turning your survival game into a Beautiful Starvation Simulator. there IS no ECOSYSTEM! this is possibly the most pressing issue in the game at the moment as it's anoying to vets im sure but it is COMPLETLY ALINATEING your new players, ina game that allready does 0 toturials or hand holding of any kind. I know the ultimate goal here is still to have fun..please PLEASE adress this. It's completely ruined what would otherwise been a wonderful experience.
i remember when frogs where fun to catch as a PT, now i feel like they teleport a little plus, like ive seen with other AI, turn around/stop and go a different direction when you are close enough to attack them.
they dodge and juke alot more than usual and im getting tired of it...
the AI spawns in the game online map are mostly wrong, went to a location thats supposed to have dear and found goats and boars, no deer pls at least make the map accurate
i dont see any fish spawn while plaing deinosuchus
As already mentioned by others above, as a newcomer to the game the lack of AI spawns particularly for the land based predators are a major issue. I'm mainly playing Deino and the fish spawns are not too bad but it feels terrible towards before the server restart. Swamps should be teeming with AI life but are pretty barren. I think trialing a 30-50% increase in AI spawn/density could really improve the experience.
Ive spent more time dyeing to starvation than actually getting to grow. Spawned in swamp as a deino and traveled all the way up River Delta just to die from lack of food. Literally nothing around me. Im not sure if the devs are scared to add AI or what the issue is, I love the game, but like others have said, its a starving similation more than anything right now. When you do make it fully grown people tend to over pack so you can't hunt them. On the few times ive found AI off spawn its a boar that 2 shots me. I understand having TOO much AI would prevent people from interacting with each other, but have almost NO AI around and making people spend more time re-spawning isn't fun. I want to play this game more and more, but I don't see why I should when I waste more time attempting to even find food. While Herbivores have food EVERYWHERE, how many herivores starve in comparision?
The map seems almost completely devoid of AI life, I may hear an AI every 30 minutes to an hour, but then it's like it disappears before I can even get to it, not killed or anything,, stops making sounds and I look around the last area I hear it and it's nowhere to be found.
Out of the entire swamp, I was only able to find and hear a single frog, and as I got near to the sound it's like it despawned because I couldn't find it again
But it's not just frogs, it's crabs, deer, boar etc.
Can't find a single crab on the beach looking for 30 minutes
Not a single frog in the swamp searching for 30 minutes, and so on.
I feel that there needs to be more abundance of AI, at least the smaller AI, and AI need to have stamina so that they can tire out and not infinitely be able to run away...
Right now it's almost impossible to survive as a fresh-spawn carnivore unless you're lucky enough to be able to scavenge a carcass without being killed or you stumple upon the rare AI that doesn't despawn on you or outrun you with it's infinite stamina... Please we also need stamina for AI so we can tire them out and actually catch up to them as juveniles...
Spawned as a pt in west access, no fish. Flew up to highlands lake, no fish. Flew up to water access lake, no fish. flew down the river, no fish. Flew back up the river, no fish. Only reason I'm not dead is a dead boar someone killed on the beach a while away when I desperately went to find a turtle.
NA1 hordetest btw
Yep. I’m a new player. Just had 3 Dilos in a row starve to death because I couldn’t find a single ai animal.
Not even a sea turtle while running up and down the coastline.
The carnivore experience is absolutely abysmal.
Ai in saltwater body’s of water a mosa or a shark or something would be nice for exploring and new territory for deinos
At least double or triple the AI spawns for carnivores or give them the ability to smell them out. Played this game for 4 days now and lost count to how many carnivores I've/my friends had die from starvation. It's just not a fun experience putting X amount of hours into the game to be killed by starvation due to lack of AI/ food around
Same issue others have had, I even try in multiple spawns to chill and wait for AI spawns in my area sometimes and just hear nothing but my own animals chirping until it starves to death
I have another issue related to food but at the same time not.. spawned in a new dilo. as soon as i did it started raining. can't hear anything. it turns into darkness from hell. with severe storms. cant hear any ai.. this continued for a long time.. i died from starvation. still raining.. so maybe shorten the rain period a bit so you can have a chance at ai food if it starts raining.
Baby carnos are hard. I'm normally close to death before I manage to snag my first meal
there is not enough food in this game
there is not enough food in this game period. just straight a fact. such an easy fix too. increase server size and spawn rate.
You need to make something as fast as you can, its unplayable, i do south plains to west rail to highland to jungle to delta, find no ia food and the only dino were fcking too big for try a thing on him. It's nice to have a big map, but only 25% its really use
As an addendum to the ai issue, I dont think the actual spawning rates are the issue, because immediately after a server restart, the ai spawns just fine, so something seems to be keeping them from spawning more as the server stays up for longer. What that is, I'm not sure, but the issue definitely isnt the spawning rates.
two play through died of starv before finding anything not one single call
Even as Troodon u starve lol
Do Bullfrogs phase out of existence? Hunting one as herra and somehow it outran me and stops calling?
Also, gonna starve, again.........
sometimes cant even tell there is AI, as deer and boars live IRL they should be in packs
Please fix the ai. This needs priority right now. The Isle is my favorite game. I have over 1k hours playing, and I love it, but right now most of my lives are desperatly searching the map for anything that I can kill as a fresh spawn, and starving. Not a single turtle on any beach. No deer, goats or pigs in the forest. A rare chicken. A few frogs. This is beyond frustrating. Please do something about this.
Also, hope you had good holidays.
AI seems to be eternally spooked and run to a stupid part of the map making no noise so nobody finds them, and idea is to make AI despawn after a while of no actual combat to help prevent this from happening again in the future, and also make them make noise even if they are spooked
Make AI bound to parts of the map, and any part of the map you don't want them at, have that area de-spawn the AI, how in other games your character will be killed for being "out-of-bounds" add the same concept to the AI, and if the system de-spawns them, add them on a timer. Why can't each area have AI and the AI that spawns in that area, in example: Highlands Sector have any AI spawn and it can't randomly wonder to River Delta, but River Delta has its own AI, etc. Also, have carnivores smell out their food, like how herbivores can smell their plants, why can't carnivores smell out AI or other players for that matter.
make ai spawn more.
usually there was a lot of ai in east but it was really hard to find anything even there and i was there at least for 2 hours. didnt even find a taco on the beach.
got lucky finding a cera corpse and a baby deino.
PLEASE do something with the spawnrate
I haven't seen an AI for a week besides 2 frogs fix please fix asap
ai spawn very rarely, and when it does, it can often be a species much to small, such as a chicken for a carno, or can often not be on diet. Something realistic to solve many of the issues around ai spawning could be to spawn species specific diet ai in patrol zones in which carnivore species are uniquely drawn to
Things i have noticed since the latest update, frogs now roam possibly affecting the ai spawns? (sitting on the water edge better). Chickens/Rabbits as fun as optional diet is i would rather smaller carnivore prey be more baby deer/goats/boar. Also i have noticed deer make near to no noise. I feel the carnivore starvation has lead to more people playing unlimited food herbies and living longer leading to full servers and longer ques on all regions, i may be wrong.
I haven't seen an AI animal except fish and the pteradactylus that spawn and attack you and are invincible and invisible.
Noticed something with the Ai, when the server resets, it's perfect, plenty of AI, but after about 20 minutes there are no AI at all so it seems they aren't respawning after they've been killed for the first time which surely must be a simple bug to fix. Starved to death as a fg Dilo 3 times yesterday. Needs fixing ASAP, love this game but it's a starving simulator more than anything atm
Just increase the spawns I don't think anyone on this earth would complain even if the servers run a little worse at least we'd not all be starving to death on "apex" predators lol
Agree I think something with spawns is borked. Also lovely finding a school of fish or something and running towards it only to have it despawn. ALSO I've heard bullfrogs or chickens etc, when I run towards them no more sound as if they despawned. Are they despawning instead of spawning when players are nearby!?
cant even hunt anything because we hunt with " wounded" status since we are starving just to end up dying to any player with a decent growth on any dino. fix the AI, what kind of lakes or rivers have 3 fish/
It's unplayable due to lack of AI respawn. I am getting sick of dying to starvation, world feels empty and unrealistic due to this. And deinos all are going cannibal since there's nothing else to eat, can you blame them.
Spawn some 'personal' wildlife that only the player can see and hunt, this won't clog up the server that way, maybe an idea? So there should always be something around to eat.
Herbis have 'graze' zones that they can eat a bit from, carnis should have something similar maybe ... ?
So, As a newer player (but having played before) and introducing about 10 people to a private server (Mostly to take away from the overwhelming feeling when on a random Server) I have my server set to 50 AI spawn and it seems to be ok, but I've noticed that AI spawn on the wiki tend to state they spawn everywhere (pteradons and Compy) but I don't see them in game, even when I've left out carcasses? Granted, I totally understand there's a realism factor to this game, but if the AI aren't going to always give us Nutrients, then I don't understand why we can't at least indulge in the power fantasy a little as a carnivore.
So we all know AI is a mess. So here is one suggestion that might significantly help with the problem.
I think that non Dino AI ought to show up on the scent radar of dinosaurs that have that AI on their diet, within a certain range. So like crabs, frogs, deer, chickens, goats, boars, fish schools, whatever else might be non Dino AI. But to balance it, make it so that scent icon also disappears when you get close to prey, so you actually have to put some effort into the hunt.
Eg.
Sniff sniff, and oh! 🐐 appears on scent radar if it’s within scent range. As you close on prey, 🐐 disappears from scent radar and you track it by sound and sight. But goat runs away in dense foliage. It gets out of close range, and 🐐 appears on scent again, and you can track it back down.
With the current state of AI it is unplayable, As a croc your hoping to see a player or you starve to death when you get bigger. Everyone drinks in safe spots when they do drink. Dead 4x of starve on a gator that took me 6 hours to grow.
can we please just change the ai so it spawns more in general and not only if 3+ players are in the area.. it becomes unplayable as you starve do to no one being near so you just die and can’t play so honestly I can’t play the game as a carnivore and each time I play I see less and less. and not to mention the struggle of bigger carnivores eating smaller ones just to survive it’s not close to fair or right maybe if the player server was at 200 sure the ai is ok but 100 for a huge map is not good or correct leading to people quitting carnivores and maybe the game itself… its sad
Yeah I agree AI should spawn more even if you are the only one in the area the amount of times I have starved to death is kind of sad and it makes survival as a young carnivore just spawning in way more harder than it should be especially for the smaller carnivores that can barely kill AI. AI spawns are so few and far between that the last four or five days that I've played and tried to grow a carnivore I've maybe seen one goat and one frog which is a problem when you have such a huge map and your hunger goes down way faster when you're growing.
Whenever I find AI they got scared from a mile away and just bolt into the bushes and I can't track them. Could you add AI scent or make them more noisy? Maybe make them scream every 5 seconds?
You find AI using your ears, long range detection is mostly auditory which brings me to….Rain.
End rain entirely until you fix your broken AI. If I’m dying to starvation 8/10 times I don’t need a 10 minute monsoon making it impossible to hunt.
Make the ai bird scavengers spawn only around schooling fish that has begun to rot. This would both clean the map and save poor pteranodons from being mauled in 2 hits just for trying to fish :/
The main consensus is that more AI is needed, or it should spawn in your proximity at a certain hunger level, or period of time (maybe 50%+, no AI spawn)
But I think more than anything, the players would like to know your take on this, why is the AI spawnrate so low, why is there no system to spawn them close to you, or any kind of response to this feedback?
Starved to death... again
The worst part is that it doesn't even seem to be intentional. When the server resets and things actually have a chance to spawn in, it's a smorgasbord. I had like 5 tacos and 3 turtles in my vision at one point yesterday. I wonder if they don't respawn when killed or if they wander away from their spawns and get stuck or hidden until reset
2 months gone by and the AI is still broken and carnivores are starving every gameplay.
I really think they wander or spawn to places where no player would go. So it's not spawn rate that's the issue but our ability to find the hidden AI.
if the AI is such a huge problem to fix at the moment, why not add random static corpses to patrol zones for carnivore babies
Adding on. Even if it’s just a large increase in frogs or small AI in sanctuaries so they have another option other then the occasional other player
Starved to death 5 times in a row. Hard to survive as an baby carnivore due the lack of AI. Need more AI for baby and young carnivore.
I think if they get the ai spawning regularly at the current rate (maybe with a few more spawns for small prey) and fix the pterodactylus (which mostly effects me as a ptera main), the game is going to be in a really good spot. I think stamina regen rates could be altered a bit (again, ptera main). You'll have both water and ai food to bring players to areas with resources and allow juveniles to have a chance at some growth and full bellies without getting lucky with a corpse.
I figured that playing a dinosaur you have never played before (especially carnivores) doesnt work. You will end up starving due not finding any AI, and not being able to fight others cuz your small. Im a new player, and in the beginning i kept dying over and over, making me just quitting the game and play something else. Since then i decided to play 1 dino, and actually learn how to play it. First i learned how to play a deino, i learned how to find food, and right now i can consistently find food. Same with carno, i learned where to go based of my spawn. The only thing is that as a deino i can survive of the AI untill im big. But with carno you have to kill people if you dont want to die, because there are less AI to find on land (as far as i have seen). Theres alot of people complaining about it, and i think there should be more AI. But i also think that people have to learn how to hunt players, and not rely 100% on the AI. And yet i think there should also be more AI, my carno is 65% right now, and i found 1 AI in my entire run, the rest is kills and dead bodies. id still say that its a fun game, even tho its missing some elements around surviving with your dinosaurs, variety, and the fact that you have to repeat the same strategy depending on the dino you choose. It would be more fun if you can go anywhere, without having to go back to your usual spot to find food. You should be able to find your food anywhere
i agree seems like there is Barely any ay at all that spawn untill server reset im wondering if they even Respawn at all xD I struggle all the time untill they refresh servers Then after a few hours ai is gone and seems like i need to wait to the next reset sometimes. thats bad since Growing Revolves around Ai otherwise You will just starve again and again make the experience misrable untill you get big enough to mabe jump locations for food desprately all the time which lately has been my experience Starve repeat unless i play herbivore
Imo if the devs don't listen to the AI wildlife feedback, maps will be devioded of players. It's not a new issue. It was the reason I have quit this game for 1 year. Not much has changed since.
Prehistoric era and it seems there was an industrial travler fish out all the wildlife out of water.
No turtles, no fish in the oceans too.
If the devs are forcing players to engage more with each other the server should be named PvP only.
It would be nice if they added ai to the game
2 hours swimming around the swamp and north lake, not a single fish, how you supposed to even play this game and grow from a baby when there’s no fish to eat?! How can devs be so blind and juts not fix their trash
i be honest i like the ai system in legacy, but dont let ai spawn when youre hunger is at 75%. Let it spawn when it under 15%. You have enouth food not to starve but enouth motivation to hunt to have a good diet and grow fast. idk if this is possible in evrima but would be one think we can think about.
Gotone shot as an adult beipi by a coelacanth type elite fish. It didn't eat me it just rushed me and gave me the kiss of death. Pretty sure that would never happen in real life. Please change this!
How about we spawn it at like 30% so it isn’t as bad? What your saying can be problematic if you can’t find them in time even if they do spawn so I say 30 is just more safe and will stop starving as much
I feel like the ai spawn rate is far too low. I was playing as a Deino and was almost always at the brink of death as there was never enough fish to sustain my hunger. There were smaller fish which put my hunger up only 2% or something. please fix this
Here's the solution....roll back the changes. Vacation for two weeks is a lame excuse, it wouldn't take 30 min to roll the changes back and the cost would be Maia is removed and it saves every carnivore in the game. It's a cheap cost at twice the price.
Bring Dryo AI back
I was thinking, i see more small ai, which makes me think thats the reason that it appears that there is no ai anymore. The small ai also almost doesnt make any noise which is then hard to find. Even deer almost make no noise anymore. What we need is not, remove small ai and make more big one, because then troodons would be doomed, but make them easier to find. Its already so hard to find tacos. Make the burrows smell or something idk.
I like that they have rabbits in front sometimes now but finding them is a pain in the ass cuz as soon as you get to close to any ai they stop making sound and vanish in the Jungle to never be seen again.
So yes increase ai. But dont lower the big ai spawn to make more small.
And please do something so they dont get stuck on cliffs making them unreachable
There should be big ai in the future for apexs and large mid tiers.
Gives Troodons the AI Dig abilities for Compis and Rabbits.
It's only natural that they eat more smaller prey and sometimes hunt big things in packs.
Tiny dinosaurs should be able to get food more easily to compensate for their size.
If their numbers are larger, there is also more prey for larger dinosaurs.
simple natural order
I noticed yesterday that right after the server restart AI was everywhere to be found. Any other time however, I can't find much if any. Could it be that AI are only spawning with server restarts?
Or they get stuck somewhere (possibly under the map), does not despawn and AI cap is reached. So many possible reasons. Pls fix.
one thing i have consistently noticed is the AI is either NOT respawning or IS respawning in ways players cant acsess untill they are ALL in that state becouse a little bit AFTER a reset there will BE no AI except in exceptionaly remote locations... and only if those locations are areas that spawn AI they dont seem to spawn evenly over the areas there ment to spawn in they only spawn in set locations.
I know this has likely been suggested before, but alongside the much-requested "more AI" (which, yes, please—I’ve spent hours over the past two weeks on different dinos in various locations, and this feels like a crucial need), I’d also like to propose an improvement to the AI tracking system.
Currently, on the rare occasions when I do hear a boar or deer, I’ll head in that direction only to sniff the area and find no footprints. After that, I’m left standing around for 8–13 minutes without hearing anything else, which can be frustrating. A more reliable or intuitive way to track AI—whether through better footprints, a scent trail, or even subtle environmental cues—would go a long way in making survival gameplay feel smoother and more immersive.
Up the AI spawn density and rate, a world with more secure food means players might actually interact with each other in other ways than just instant PvP on sight. Also food for the little dinos means eventual food for larger dinos as well, kinda like a food chain.
Please oh please get rid of the stupid bird ai pest things. I just got destroyed upon spawning and catching my first food as ptera. I dunno who said they wanted this feature, it sucks.
Tweak all ai to make a constant quiet sound (similar to pigs/frogs!) so that they are more easily tracked. Things like deer and tacos are extremely difficult to find after you get within their range because they stop making noise entirely.
Can we slow down the speed of bullfrogs on land? Most of us here probably grew up catching them by hand, and yet our carnivores struggle to keep up? 🤔
can the small ptera ai just be done with, I don't know what purpose they serve other than to make people run to water to escape them, it's ridiculous. It just happened to me twice in the span of 5 min.
Just now walking through the forest and a quadruple of those nuisances just spawned on my tail for no reason, no body nearby, no squawking tree, nothing. I can't even attack them and they are at ground level in range of my bite. These things are dumb and I would appreciate if anybody could tell me what their purpose actually is cause you can't eat them.
add frogs to Troodon's diet
Was playing Pteranodon today and finally found some Psittacosaurus, and I counted out that it took a good 9-10 pecks to kill one of the things as a juvenile Ptera (I counted, but I didn’t hear a pain squeak on one peck that I think still hit).
I’m sure sub-adults and adults have an easier time, but baby Ptera is already really hard to keep alive, and there’s a decent chance Psittacosaurus is the first food a new player will see. It’d be nice if it was either more fragile, slower, or didn’t zigzag so much, so it’d be easier to line up a shot. The little guys should probably feel like practice for attacking bigger/playable prey.
I don’t know if it would be better to adjust the mob or Ptera’s attack stat tho.
would give feedback on AI if i ever saw any but it seems that over and over i starve to death as deino because there is no fish for like an hour at times
This may be a known issue, but when catching fish as Pteranodon, I get consistently swarmed by Pterodactyls almost immediately, definitely way faster than I can get the fish to safe perch, meaning I either have to drop my catch on the bank, where there are always predators, or get shredded by Dactyls for more than half my health (as a sub-adult even).
I never see Dactyls on any other kind of meat, only meat when I’m flying, so I feel like something is off about that, either a bug or just some cruel balance for the one animal that has to carry its food a decent distance in order to eat in peace.
Either that, or let me eat the bitey little things, cause any time I try to catch one, I either catch nothing or get mauled to death mid air.
I just wanna eat in peace (or bite them back).
I only want to survive as a lil carnivore, im a solo player and its hard to hunt something bigger when im 12%, maybe if theres ai I can grow more 😔
growing a croc rn is bs, Fish doesnt do anything, you just sit there and wait for death. I'd say that the fish could maybe be increased by dubble the sice or just make for fish spawns bc growing a croc without killing other crocs is just stupid, we should be at least be able to get some food for 1 fish instead of getting like 0,25% food for 1 fish. Me and my friend played as a croc. I didnt even get to 100% without dying of starvation, my friend got to 100% and then died. its really stupid that it barley gives any food so its just no reason to even have crocs in the game rn just bc of the lack of food. So pls do so the fish gives more food.
I can't give feedback on A.I because there are none to be found.
Not even talking about the low spawn rate but the current way of finding and tracking AI isn't exactly accessible. Even if this game aims for realism, there should be other ways than sound to find AI. With the current system anyone whose hearing or headphone setup isnt the greatest will struggle to hunt even on a basic level. Some kind of visual indication for which direction has AI or just footprints to track would help massively. Also increased audio cues and tracks would help track AI that runs sporadically inside a forest without the player even seeing them.
maybe add familys to ai like if we can't even have a single rabbit spawn in 30min there at least should be a rabbit family hopping around sometimes, also it just seem weird making herbivores so defensive and carnivores so hard to grow with no ai available
can we get ai mid tiers to feed bigger dinos so the little ones can eat the smaller ai?
Im 7 hours into the game and ive hunted more players than AI, killed like 5 players with croc and 2 ai with raptor, i seriously cant even get out of the hatchling stage with carnivore dinos, it can be really hard and frustrating for new players like myself, ive even considered refunding at some point because of the low spawn rate….
I really liked seeing the pteros circling a tree, its a really cool visual, makes the jungle feel so much more alive. Besides some of the annoying things Ptero does, more stuff like this please!
Also make ptero killable and eatable
ive yet lost another croc to starvation. no AI at all.
INCREASE THE SPAWN RATE OH MY LORD, TRAVELLED ALL THE WAY FROM SWAMP TO THE HIGHLANDS AS A CROC JUST TO STARVE BECAUSE NOTHING SPAWNED.
I have introduced friends of mine to the game as new players. They all have a lot of frustration going to look for food on their diet, usually AI as babies and dying a lot to starvation. It has really put them off the gameplay loop and the game in general.
As mentioned, being able to hunt AI a lot easier might help. Audio cues are great but if you happen to spawn in a rain storm? Good luck with that. As a long time player I feel its a lot more difficult to learn how to properly track with scent mechanics than with sight. Perhaps there can be a visual indicator of smell that fades over time would help? The indicator being stronger the closer to the ai a player gets and more faded the farther away. It may also help players learn how to track and hunt with smell within the game, since not everyone looks up tutorials online. Not to mention help the hearing impaired. I am personally a fan of games having in-game methods of teaching how the game works throughout the game itself. The visual indicator for blood is alright but it is sometimes difficult to smell it in dense foliage areas for newer players. Plus I would imagine those stinky ai mammals are indeed very stinky!
Another idea that may or may not work, would be perhaps have ONLY ai just show up as moving diet markers on the smell radar? A moving diet symbol is food, but is it ai or someone dragging a corpse? Do you go for it or wait to risk starving for a safer option? Risk vs reward idea that may encourage more exploration, or perhaps clever hunters could use it as bait. Leans more into the scarier parts of the game.
hercules beetle larva
Possible to dig up from the ground for small carnivores and omnivores
Personally I think AI for carnivores should work similarly to grazing for herbivores. Grazing can reliably keep you from starving to death as a herbivore, but if you rely on it you will get a poor diet and your growth will take longer. It acts as a way to avoid starvation, but there is still plenty of incentive to find your diet food to gain all of the good/great/perfect diet bonuses.
Applying these same principles to AI would greatly improve the carnivore experience in my opinion. AI should be more abundant then they are now (as many others have said), but to compensate for that, and to prevent carnivores from simply getting perfect diet off of AI without interacting with other players, they should give no diet nutrients at all.
These changes would improve the game IMO because it would give carnivores a more reliable way to avoid starvation while still keeping incentives to hunt other players for faster growth and diet bonuses.
Just my two cents, thanks for all your work! :)
Tried this 3 times, as a ptera i go fishing at the small lake at west access and when i get a fish, ai birds start attacking, after I speed up and lose them I slow down or land, and then start taking damage as if I am getting attacked even tho nothing is near me, it's not lag been getting around 30 ping the hole time. Am I doing something wrong or are the AI birds bugged?
just another 20-30min search as baby carnivore was a nice run :)
This may be premature, but with the new update that just went live I found boar in the wild! Thank you! Also, this is new:
just make it so either A ai despawns after being away from a player for a extended amount of time B ai spawns on players who are hungry or C ai cant leave a certain set box w/o despawning unless being chased by player
I like ai but there is too much now lol zero challenge with survival, just turn it down a few notches and it will be perfect. Or make it spawn on restart and another spawn 2-3 hours after.
(Edit: people love easy mode)
im loving the ai changes, having a larger amount of ai will lead to more competition over prey, could be pegged down just a tiny bit but so much better than before < 3
Thanks for fix AI, finally!
ai should be more scarce around the map and more abundant in migration zones
Just wanna say thanks for the current AI spawn, love it
Thank you for the AI fix, now it feels like it is filled, had 30+ boars dears and goats next to spawn over the course of
in this stage, there is to much ai. now u can play and grow just by ai, there is no survival chalange anymore, no point in fighting anymore because there is just to mutch food and there is no NEED to kill so u can eat now. my opinion ai spawn rate is nice the way it is now, ty great change but the ai number should decreased. either you agree or not, this is the truth
the ai is way too much. I am at west rail access and I have 4 ai in view. new sort every 100 meters.
Game is now playable. I would rather way too much AI than no AI
appreciate the fixes to AI, growing a carnivore dosent feel luck based anymore keep going
I don't think the issue is the overabundance of AI. It's a tropical island, it makes sense for there to be a lot of animals running around. The issue is how easy they are to kill. Of course, with how AI senses fuction right now, there is hardly a middle ground between free meals and impossible to catch, but I believe current spawnrates should be kept as they are in the long term, with AI being made harder to kill and require actual thought and some hunting skills.
Just wanna say THANKS for the AI update 🤍
this is so good thank you guys!
Some areas may still be bugged in the AI department. I explored the entire southern beach area and part of the swamp and starved to death as a baby omni, without coming across any signs of life.
-players complain because there was barely any ai
-devs fix ai
-carni gameplay becomes more enjoyable
-players complain
I think the ai is great as it is. Cera and Carno are currently the largest terrestrial carnivores and both of them can and should be able to fill up on ai. Is this making the game any worse? No it's not! Carni nesting might be fun again because you can actually feed your young now! Larger predators such as rex, giga, etc. won't get any food from a deer. Just because ai is more plentiful doesn't mean it's ruining the game's survival aspect. 2 players could be drawn to the same ai or body which could result in a fight.
I don't see anyone complaining about herbis being able to graze to keep themselves alive. Ai isn't the best food source for large carnivores. Juveniles, troodons and pteranodons rely on ai though.
Thank you for the fix keep it up!
AI is fine, but please for the love of god fix how much % a school of fish give a FG deino... My GOD.
Please fix fish for the deino. Schooling fish give barely any food like 00.36% food.. it’s hard to survive for deinos now so everytime I play deino I always die due to starvation. Please fix this. Thank you for fixing the turn though
I've only played about 20 hours, and my experience has been that AI has managed to spawn just enough to keep my deino from starving to death at any given time but rarely enough to fill the hunger meter when on the larger side of the growth chart. It feels fairly balanced to me that to thrive it will encourage you to hunt/interact with other players, but you can feasibly live off of AI alone.
Giving all carnivores a forage option like Gali & Beipi have for small AI would be a life saver for baby and juvenile carnivores, and it wouldn’t break the adults either, since a full grown Cera won’t exactly be filling its stomach off of a spawned in Compy.
We can already dig up Taco burrows as other predators (if we can find them), so it’s definitely doable.
Sitting at West Rail with so many AI around that it's more like picking from a buffet than hunting kind of removes the survival aspect. With my perfect diet plus more all in one spot, why ever move?, why ever attack another player when there's zero need to risk it?
with the ai having been fixed the isle feels so much more alive. i love it
would i appreciate at some point, later in time, something to make ai just ever so slightly trickier? yes. but right now i would much rather have it as is. its a lot of fun rn, compared to earlier
AI Still scarce out by Dam etc, all in all i think good update! Obviously if there are TONS of players in a hotspot the AI will spawn more.
I'd like to see more ai spawn's on tree's for herra's, I don't think a herra should just wait for a dinosaur ACCTUALY Big enough for it to kill cause it would take years, So I think the little bird's AI spawn rate should be increased by A LOT So a herra's life on top of the tree's wont be boring, Maybe the birds can fight back vs juevline + teen herra's but thats all,
As nearly the intire feedback community has brought up, AI in patrols/Migrations/Sanctuaries would be ideal. Also think that Ai should eventually have a cooldown in specific areas after enough spawns to incentive the need for competition/ Distribution of carnivores.
Hey guys whatever you did to the AI is amazing. I had a freaking blast being able to nest and actually feed the hatchlings.
The games much more fun now, nice job with the ai, but i’ve noticed a thing where the ai kind of snowballs once you find one, you stay.in the area and eat it and then 3 more spawn around you and you never need to move. i’ve also found that it’s much harder to find ai while traveling. I think that a player who’s exploring the map should be rewarded more than someone sitting in a single area, also because it kind of causes hotspots for carnivores where they all gather in a certain area because they can eat the ai the others are spawning
AI abundance is perfect. Thank you so much for the fix!
Just remove ai from all diets.
It should function as starvation prevention, not free growth boost.
The ai buff, whether intentional or not, just simply killed the game - at least for those of us who wanted a survival experience.
Now survival is thrown out of the window, since you're never in danger of starving to death as a carnivore. AI is so abundant that you can literally sit within a 300 meter radius until fully grown, then go pvp in south plains.
I personally am not playing until the game makes me struggle for survival again as a carnivore.
I dont know if anything like this is planned, but seeing the AI interactions in the recent streams and knowing how the old teno AI used to act makes me hopeful for something like this:
Herbivores are not a popular playable. There will always be a vast difference in number between them and carnivore players. Plus, the Survival gamemode was made with the idea in mind of letting players play what they want, they just have to earn it by getting to adult. This is fine, but it does get rather dull sometimes being alone when you dont want to be.
I hope that it is planned to eventually make AI in depth enough to allow solo players to group with and loosely command other herbivore AI of the same species. Perhaps AI take up group slots, and you can set them to social mode, quiet mode, agressive, defensive, etc. Or you could even have AI have different "personalities" and those different modes are locked so players have to migrate around to find the ones they want for their survival playstyle! This would give solo players the ability to nest others in, or even nest themselves if two of the AI in their herd pair off and make a (public -so there is still risk) nest. This would allow solo players the chance/option to be equal to more organized and larger groups in gameplay, and or get themselves a rarely nested dinosaur that they havent had any luck finding eggs for.
decrease the players required for schooling fish to spawn to 1, since deinos are cannibalistic, smaller deinos are forced to starve or be eaten by other deinos
AI Detection of the terrain it stands on, and its affect on AI Visibility and detection range
I may be wrong on how the terrain in UE works but. If its possible, I'd suggest that AI's player detection range is based on the type of terrain it stands on, which sounds weird, but it would only change when the AI is on forest floor terrain.
That way you could allow players to get much closer with AI in jungles where the AI's detection range is reduced to simulate its poor visibility through low level flora.
Would be nice as many times have I spooked AI without it possibly even seeing me, nor myself seeing the AI itself.
okay love the new ai but MY GOD
Love the new boost in AI, thank you devs
I think the isle needs more AI than before the patch obviously, but this is too much. there is almost no way you can starve anymore. all you need to do is stay in the same spot for 3 hours while you grow.
i understand that coding ai must be difficult but can we fix the ai movement at all? the way they turn is so janky, it makes it very frustrating as a juvi carnivore to track it. The overall behaviour seems a bit jank to me aswell
More fighting AI, AI give less food to big carnivores ( don't get me wrong it's just annoying being good with hunger 24/7 cause a simple deer feels you up like how a stego would.
honestly really disappointed with this latest ai change, the ai was great before, it felt engaging and stressful to fight against the time bomb that is your food meter but now deer and boar are handed to you on a silver platter. the only thing i can ask is that larger ai like goats, boar and deer are made far rarer while smaller ai such as chickens and rabbits more common.
seconded, you can just AFK grow with the amount of AI spawning everywhere
lower the rates of the boar, goat, and deer AI and increase it for smaller AI. larger creatures can still get some food to keep them going but not enough to just live off of. if its still too much give them the fish treatment
We finally just got the ai back and working again, and people are already calling for it to go away. I personally hated playing starvation simulator. I enjoy there's lots of ai. I like being able to play the game without having to rely on hotspots to feed me. Prior to this, I had to sit in South Plains, because that's where the food was! And only where it was. When I traveled, I was either on the brink of starving and only survived to sheer luck or I did die of hunger.
The servers feel so much more alive now, I see so many packs running around, Carnos, Omnis, Ceras. I've been able to comfortably hunt as Herrera and not stress the entire time. I'm able to go to non-hotspot locations and thrive. It's great!
If ai overpopulation becomes an issue for technical reason, maybe adding a playable whose diet is all ai, to serve as an ai cleanup in the ecosystem could be an organic way to keep numbers in check. I feel like a fast growing flyer, bigger than Ptera and faster on foot for catching deer and boar. My first thought was Hatzegopteryx as Quetzal sized non-apex strength flyer, but I think some people want an apex Hatz. So instead, maybe Tropeognathus or Santanadactylus? Those beaks may have been used for fish, but they still look enough like walking trash compactors for it to work. A player could fly from biome to biome, cleaning up ai spawns ideally with Ceras overeating so that bodies aren’t left behind either. And a big flyer that’s fast on foot but slow to take off would be a great hunt for growing carnivore players who would rather eat playables than ai anyhow. It could help the servers potentially, and it would give the carnivore players who hate ai something more interesting to hunt! Fully an ecosystem focused playable.
Can we have a fish update? More fish! Dynamic fish! Fish with growth! Fish which exhibit different behaviors! Catfish that lurk on the bottom and eat anything in sight, salmon that jump up waterfalls, massive beautiful schools of anchovies in the ocean, coelacanths living in ocean caves. Fish that are attracted to food in the water! Fish that have different methods of escape! A beipi could leap to catch a flying fish. A spinosaurus could be big and strong enough to take down arapaima. Pteranodons could dive into massive oceanic schools. Fish. Please 🐟
Honestly, salt water AI would be dope. I'm in no rush and I love the onslaught of suicidal chickens, but I want to use that salt water perk a but more and have a reason to go out that way! Maybe more filling fish or a Shark. Dunno, but based on some of your concept art, it seems like there was at least at one point an idea for something there! Keep up the good work!
Do NOT change AI from the current state please.
To the people complaining about too much AI or 'im only able to survive on ai alone without the need to interact with any other players":
I think this is a temporary state where carnivores are all small tiers. Once allo/rex and other larger carnis arrive, I think the situation will change dramatically. This AI will not sustain the huge number of allos and rexes that'll swarm the game. But small tiers, which have a v low hunting success rate, should be allowed to have the luxury of filling themselves up with AI cause they can't touch large herbis nor can they compete with larger carnis.
It's all about food values assigned to each ai creature, relative to the weight of the dino eating them. Compare how a few fruits fill up a fg beipi but gives nothing to a fg stego.
Love the new AI update. now carno's can just camp one spot forever and be lazy. takes some tactical planning an maybe some scouting. great change. swear the people complaining are the ones who camp those spots XD
not a super huge issue since deer and boar are almost universally diet, but as new ai become more unique to certain carnivores diets, I think that ai spawns becoming more restrictive to biome or ai specific to diet types of the carnivores present in the spawning region having strong priority in spawns will become necessary as long as ai are intended to provide a (at least somewhat) reliable source of diet.
Related: if/when playable humans are added, fishing mechanics are ESSENTIAL. 🎣
Let. Me. Go. Fishing. Please.
I'm playing Deinosuhus on Evrima, I'm 80% grown and I started actively hunting for AI when I had 50% hunger. And I was on AUS 2 Official Server
I feel like there needs to be more AI spawning, or AI spawning based on player location/hunger. I Travelled from the very south of the swamp, up into the first 2 ponds of river delta and did not find a single fish. I heard one other Deino who quickly hid away from me and when I asked them for fish they said there was none. I found a frog, but when I tried to kill it... I lost it on account of it being the start of night time and very poor vision.
Starving to death while actively and purposely hunting for food is a pretty bad feeling. What I have ended up doing is logging out of the server (now that my hunger is red and I am dying) in the hopes fish will spawn while I am logged out. So essentially, because I haven't been able to catch AI or hunt players (because I also didn't see any Dinos on the shore) I've had to log out of the game... Or watch my dinosaur die simply because the game says I should die now, which i mean, if this is what 6 hours of Deino growing gets me, that's not cool.
The problem could be solved by having more players in the server (the limit is 100 at the moment) but I am sure that presents a host of problems. I think AI being on a faster de-spawn and re-spawn rotation could be really good too. And if there was a way to make it proximity based to players. Then you could feed us carnivores while also not feeding us so much we don't want to hunt players.
I would like to say thank you to the devs for fixing the AI spawnners so we can actualy eat and live for more then a few minuts XD that being said...we still have the issue of MOST of the isle feeling completly dead...just...devoid of life...please consider increaseing the AMOUNT of spawnners perhaps I think Increaseing the AI amount a bit more may or may not be nessasary but distributeing more Life across the isle absolutely is! were still seeing everybody flocking to the same so called "hot spots" and its not very organic.
Make it so you can sneak up on AI and not have it start running before you even get a chance to see it. And give them foot prints so you can track them if you lose them.
It feels odd that you can smell plants as an herbivore but can’t smell ai animals or fishing spots as a carnivore. And before anyone says you have to listen, I never hear the ai before I see it, sorry. I don’t even know what a Taco sounds like. Fish especially are hard to spot at a distance and impossible to hear, so it’d be nice if at least diet ai was smellable.
It kinda feels strange that people expect to never starve.
What do you all think the purpose of a hunger bar is?
Of course it's a terrible feeling to starve, but necessary otherwise it would be too easy and no point of survival.
The current ai numbers are perfect imo - good for small tiers but diminishing usefulness as you go beyond 1-2 tons.
would be cool if troodons could poison ai
agreed, starving should always be a thing to care for, but the current ai numbers actually let you exist without staying close to hotspots. i think the games in the healthiest state its been in since east plains was the main hotspot a year ago
Dactyls are edible again! Haven’t successfully gotten one out of a tree yet, but when they tried to take my fish earlier, I dropped it and then went after them, and instead of a Dactyl Death Cloud, they were huddled around the fish, eating it. I was able to kill one, scaring the others off and earning me both a tasty Dactyl and my fish back. Excellent excellent revenge!! Well done, devs!!
the consistency and replenishing of AI is good, but the quantity is too much. the amount that spawn together trivializes the survival aspect of the game and makes raising carnivores too easy. it needs to be toned back while maintaining the reliability of finding AI for those that search and explore for them.
people are saying how hot spots are still a problem, and too much AI existing around them further enables them, in the same way that too little forces people to flock there for reliable food. carnivores like carno and cerato being a challenge to survive as IS healthy for the game, because overpopulation of these creatures is the opposite of fun, and we're already seeing congregations of them in huge numbers (not that massive cerato packs weren't still forming BEFORE the AI changes.)
There is so much AI, a Cerato that was defending its Galli friend
GAVE ME TWO DIFFERENT AI CREATURES
to try and coerce me into not attacking it, because there is so much EXCESS FOOD.
This should simply not be happening.

Add the legacy ai limit to Evrima.
remove all the ai, make the food go down way slower because people are so scared to fight and not scared to starve so this game becomes an ai walking simulator 🤡 ( btw all those who are against it are the same ones who take 6 hours to grow a full adult stego all that to complain that it's boring because it has no action 🤡 🤡 )
Smaller Carno''s have issues with chasing AI game. Most are player visability some are the game is 'too big' to kill easily.
I recommend either increase the hitbox vs ai food, slow down the ai or make the ai more visable.
AI visability via scent when blooded or not would help a lot for young smalls. Especially if we can scent what direction to go to find them.
sockeye salmon
to be found in the sea where rivers flow into the sea and upstream of their rivers to represent their natural migration
Hello. It may be that the pendulum has swung a bit far in the other direction. I definitely prefer this over the non-stop starvation of the last iteration - that was hell - but this makes survival boring.
Thanks for your work. I know you’re dialing it in. Honestly, the pre-Mia ai spawn rate was very engaging.
The new AI buff absolutely DESTROYED herrera gameplay
Now if you want to herrera, the only viable option is to sit in the trees close to the waterfall in South Plains and pounce on the juvies passing below.
Before, when food was scarce, corpses was scarce. You could kill a dino or a pig in delta, climb on a tree, and wait. You could be sure that most likely someone could come and check it out. Now nobody will come, because the chance that your corpse will be picked over the hundreds of corpses and living AIs around is pretty small.
Great job.
AI Line of Sight and Hearing Perception
Especially as a juvenile carnivore, it's very difficult to catch fast moving AI when they start running before you even spot them, even in thick brush like the forests and jungles.
Right now it seems like they have a specific range that they will sense any player no matter what angle they come from, no matter if they're sneaking or not, and no matter if the player is actually in the view of the AI animal, it really makes it hard to enjoy hunting them when you don't even have the option to be stealthy.
With Line of Sight, AI will perceive the world based on their field of vision, they would be less likely to sense a player that is directly behind them. Shrubs, trees and bushes would block their view, but not entirely. If you are in a bush directly in front of an AI's view and they see you moving too much, or your tail or head is clearly visible, it will spook them. Some AI will have a harder time seeing at night unless they have good night vision (like Psittacosaurus could possibly have since it is used to living inside of dark burrows)
With Hearing Perception, AI will be able to hear and respond to sounds like footsteps and roars. Even if you're outside of the AI's Line of Sight, if they hear you rushing at them it will spook them. If you are saying things in chat and you roar it will also spook them and make them run away from the sound.
This will make it so that players will have to be strategic about how they hunt AI prey. This way, Players could also come up with strategies for specific prey. Species like Troodon and Omniraptor could come up with a plan to spook a deer to make it run into the rest of the group lying in wait, or a juvenile group member can taunt a boar into chasing it while the larger group members lie in wait to ambush it from behind.
I feel like these features could make AI a lot more enjoyable while also giving a challenge to players to keep the game more interesting.
I couldn’t stop thinking about this, so I made some visual aid!
Ive spent 1hr same lake without an elite fish spawn, up rates or some starving mechanic would be good, sometimes I see heaps others purely nothing
The increased AI numbers have been a great thing, and I have two reasons why.
-
For everyone complaining about too much ai in one area, just keep in mind that at full server population there will sometimes be multiple carnivores in an area, and if you're playing on an unofficial server with x3 ai it doesn't make sense to complain to devs about ai, that's a server host's decision.
-
Also, with my work schedule usually when I get on the official servers the server population is about 50/100, so if you spawn in as a young carnivore and the only other player you run into is an adult stego or any full grown predator, atleast the ai will keep you from having to take that unrealistic fight or starve to death. If there is no appropriate prey online, then there just isn't. Just short of only forcing people to play certain dinos at all times, which would ruin the fun for many, ai is the only option. And if that was a change to be made the same people complaining about the ai abundance would be begging to go back to the way things are now. Maybe make the ai more dangerous but their numbers and spawn rates should be kept where they are.
I was playing as a beipiaosaurus around %50 grown and I got swallowed by a fish, I didn't know this was a thing the fish could do. That's not the problem though, once i was swallowed i was soft locked in the fishes mouth. I was stuck spectating the fish. I didn't lose oxygen so there was no way to die. Probably something that should be looked into.
Please let AI die of fall damage and bleed.
AI (reported issues I've found already) has quite a range of spawning, for herbivores, not so for carnivores. I can take a Herbie into their MZ area and find all the food for a perfect diet but it's not so easy as a carno.
Herbies can see their food sources and don't need to "kill" them for their scent.
Carnos can only see food sources after they die.
One of the biggest issues (not so much for larger carnos) is not being able to see through the grass. These majestic hunters (Troodon) are intelligent, fast and capable hunters but in game, we are limited to what we as players can see.
I suggest the following;
Mutation, Scent of prey - Can detect nearby live prey (shown in scent map).
Mutation, Quiet Stalker (lvl 2-3, prerequisite, have crawled ie "q" stealth for a large amount of time comparable to size / weight) Dino is adapt at sneaking up on it's prey, it's footsteps are quieter and regular walking will not spook the prey if not seen.
Alternatively, dino's under x weight should be able to move quieter when selecting the mutation Featherweight
Adding to this, they could also spread out the ai spawn areas so it doesn't seem too crowded with ai as well. I would love be able to smell ai if we get close enough sometimes it's really hard to see them and I can hardly hear them if at all. That way they don't have to change how the ai run/sound to make it slightly easier to spot them as well as having to be careful of other predators in the area hunting them as well
Agreed, or even the opposite would make them more realistic too, as deer and pigs travel in herds in real life, either way there are ways to build on things positively. People are upset to see 6 deer right next to each other but as a resident of North America I can tell you that's exactly what deer do
Bout time they made it more abundant now i won't starve
seems there is still invisible ai
i searched for ages for a chicken that sounded like it was right in front of me before giving up, then 5 mins later i heard a goat, after a few mins i started pouncing around and managed to pin the ghostly creature
it is invisible as i eat it now
I see the same thing, you can still smell and eat already dead ai but you can't see them. Or like you said there will be calls but they are invisible so you can't find it.
make ai feel more lively like deer travel in herds and they have drinking and eating animations and they wont brainlessy run into cliffs
swam around for a hour on 2 deinos and starved to death on both , total schools of fish = 0, total ai fish = 0, server EU2
Could Herbis be able to nest in AI versions of their species? The offspring would follow them around as herds spreading out when the players stop to graze, moving with them as they move and giving carni players something substantial to hunt all while keeping player lobbies low but not barren and giving an objective to herbi players besides MZ.
Have AI behave more like animals rather than running around in random zig zags - go to drink then migrate somewhere to eat etc etc
Please keep the AI above ground, thx ❤️
Why do boars and deer get burrow before dryo
edit: nvm it was literally just NA1
edit 2: nvm it's js a plague that infects servers
I just found invisible boars
have lately been seeing a lot of AI spawn inside rocks / cliffs etc. had about 8 occurrences of this in 3 hours of gameplay - not invisible, i saw them poking outside of the rock a few times. 7 out of 8 were boars, and one time it was a goat
#isle-discussion message
Something went wrong in recent patch. It doesn't happen all the time but when it happens it's server wide. It happened to me on EU7.
- Lots of AI spawns underground
- AI is very scarce, like what it was before the AI increase patch. I had 3 dinos die of hunger
- I saw 3 deers spawn right on top of me, chased one for 5 secs, then all three of them despawned. Happened several times like that
edit: I see people saying that AI is invisbile. Maybe that's why it seems scarce and they seem like to be underground
nerf turtle spawn dillo is already ez mode with poison now ez mode grow also
I have encountered the "AI underground bug" but it turned out they are actually invisible. I heared a Goat and walked in circles around a bush (in Highlands) since it sounded like it was there but then suddenly, almost at the edge of the bush something blocks my Dilo from moving. I then hear the Goat again right infront of me, I bite and I hear the Goat dying. Im able to pick up and eat from it, Im just not able to see it. The only way for me to notice its body is by sniffing and seeing the meat/diet icon on the compass. For the record i encountered this bug on CA1.
Could Herbis be able to nest in AI versions of their species? The offspring would follow them around as herds spreading out when the players stop to graze drink water with the player (just make sure to set the AI’s deino detection to zero so they don’t give away their location), moving with them as they move and giving carni players something substantial to hunt all while keeping player lobbies low but not barren and giving an objective to herbi players besides MZ.
I encountered an invisible goat earlier today it was also stuck, i could hear it, bump into it and even attack it
I have seen a lot of ai recently! However it definitely makes large packs too sustainable.
Experiencing a lot of INVISIBLE AI today. Heard a boar walking around me and was able to bite at where I think he was and drew blood. But nothing was there on my screen. NA 5 if that matters
AI Pop-control on Player Megapacks
When AI dinos are added:
From time to time, AI carnivores could search for and hunt large player herbivore groups.
Especially if the herbivores exceed their group limit, they will be more likely to be targeted by AI carnivores like AI carno and AI cerato or even AI omniraptor packs. The AI carnivore that targets the herd will depend on the herd species and if other herbivore species are gathered around the herd. Smaller herding species would attract AI troodons, for example, while larger herd species may attract omniraptor packs or even a Rex if it's big enough. The AIs will more likely target the weak, sick or injured in the group.
The AI carnivores won't fight to the death and instead will run off if they are hurt too badly in an attempt to preserve it's own life.
Carnivore groups that go over their group limit, are also SIGNIFICANTLY more likely to be targeted by a larger AI carnivores like a Rex. AI Herbivore herds could also be spooked into a stampede if the game senses an unusually high amount of carnivores grouped together in one spot coming near the herd. Similar to how players can smell the megapack icon, AI should be able to detect it and flee if it senses it, to hopefully make it a bit more difficult for megapacks to acquire massive amounts of food from AI.
If AI Strains will ever be a thing.... and if the carnivore megapack is large enough, like most megapacks are, a Hyper Rex etc., (The Hyper depending on the type of megapack) could spawn and decimate the megapack... devouring all of the corpses (So that other players don't take advantage) and then running off to despawn once it's out of view of other players, players that try to follow it as it tries to despawn are signing their own death warrants.
(It could start with a warning, like a Hyper broadcast roar in the distance, and if the megapack persists, is when the Hyper could spawn and only target the megapack at least until it's numbers are reduced)
Please fix the invisible AI, it's like playing the starving simulator again 😂
Varying Reaction Time for AI
The AI in the game seem to have an instantanious reaction time the moment it senses a player, making any ambush attempt futile as there are no delayed or suprised reactions in the AI's response.
For variety and to help make AI Creatures a bit less predictable, AI creature reaction times can vary between species, smaller animals having shorter reaction time, like rabbit or hypsi AI.
(The examples below are just examples and the numbers aren't final)
For example: reaction time for an AI Hypsi could randomize between 0.2 and 0.4 seconds, meaning if you suddenly run out towards it in an ambush, it could take it a minimum of 0.2 to a maximum of 0.4 seconds to respond.
Larger species like Teno AI reaction time could range from 0.3 to 0.5 seconds, as it's a much larger animal and larger animals usually have a longer reaction time than the smaller ones.
If the AI has recently been spooked or is aware of someone's recent presence, it will be more cautious, and its reaction time range could be a lot more narrow with the reactions happening closer to the minimum reaction time.
I feel like this and the previous 2 suggestions I've made for AI could really help bring the game to life and make the AI feel more believable and hopefully more indistinguishable from human controlled players.
I feel as though the ai is turning invisible? You can hear it just fine but it’s invisible, I was right on the sound and there was nothing there, this is happening often especially with goats
Hello, for days the AI animals haven't been really nutritious. As a 100% Deinosuchus, you only get about 0.5% stomach volume from the fish in schools, which is almost nothing. A diet fish provides 4%, which makes surviving as a large carnivore incredibly difficult. I essentially play just to grow big and then starve to death. This is really super depressing.
I think we should open up the ai animals as playables. I wanna see what chicken gameplay is all about
Give the boar a better and predictable attack animation beyond a rapid head swing. I think a diabloceratops-esque alt-swing would be PERFECT. AI animals are the one time you can make an attack be really anticipated and therefore allow a player to play around it and whittle down their prey. You're not gonna make the boar butthurt by giving it a garbage attack like you are with a playable dinosaur.
In it's current state, boar AI is so unreadable. It turns like a raptor and flicks its neck to instantly kill hungry juveniles, even while facing completely away from them.
give ai stamina if it doesnt have it already
I find it ridiculous that a newly spawned carno can be ONSHOT killed by a BABY boar.
AI is getting invisible since the last two patches! Thats horrible to play :/
invisible ai. Barely impossible to kill.
Disclaimer: I’m not sure what the goals are for The Isle AI and given everything they are working on a lot of this could be too much to add but it is just a suggestion.
First off, I want to say the recent AI fixes are a big improvement, especially for official servers. On full servers, the current spawn rate feels solid, but there are some things I think could make it even better.
- AI Spawn Clustering:
I’ve noticed that AI (like boars and deer) tend to spawn in the same small areas repeatedly—like south plains. While it’s nice having reliable hotspots, it feels a bit too predictable.
If this clustering is intentional (to simulate herds), that’s awesome—but it would feel more realistic if they moved around or spread out a bit more.
- Lack of Spawn Diversity:
When venturing outside the hotspots, certain areas feel pretty empty. It would be great to see more AI spawns in those less-populated regions to make exploration more rewarding.
Suggestions:
- Add smaller, spread-out spawn zones alongside the bigger clusters to encourage more exploration.
- Consider a system where AI adapts to player activity—like slightly increasing spawns in underused areas and decreasing spawns in overused areas over time.
- If herd behavior is the goal, give the clustered AI more dynamic movement patterns, like migrating between regions.
- Introduce more variety in spawn points to balance the map better and make different areas feel alive.
Overall, the improvements are great, but I think tweaking how spawns are spread and adding some diversity would go a long way in making the AI feel even more immersive and balanced.
I already posted this in general feedback, just posting it here because I forgot there is an ai feedback tab.
I think that the size of diet sources are completely at odds with the amount of diet/food gained. Examples of this can be seen with larger herbivores like tenonto eating an entire bush of oranges to get maybe 10% diet/food or carno and cera eating a full grown boar which can weigh anywhere between 200 - 450 pounds and not being filled up. With both examples it's just wacky is what I am saying.
I suggest making diet/food gained correspond with the size/weight of the food source, less so with organs or eggs since those are fully dedicated nutrient rich items. If you were to do this, I think that the quantity of diet items would have to decrease since it would probably make getting a full diet way to easy and this is a survival game.
I believe that these changes would allow diet/food sources to last a lot longer and allow for increased travel. Another benefit would be that it allows more player interaction and a much more immersive game. For herbivores, they would be able to travel a lot more leisurely pace instead of sprinting at the speed of hermes to get enough diet before hunger takes it away. For carnivores it would allow for much more organic/realistic and lengthy hunts.
I can't even begin to tell you the amount of times I have either had to go into a rabid frenzy trying to end a hunt or abandon it because I am unable to sustain myself for the duration of that hunt. Carnivores that rely on widdling down prey over longer periods like omni are especially at risk of this, those dino's that should be the natural counter to large herbivores like stego or maia are forced to play like berserkers instead of the slow and precise pack hunters they should be.
Ai is invisible on NA4 right now..well, at least goats are. #gateway-screenshots message
When AI is around and visible it reacts far too quickly to a submerged Deinosuchus. if I'm silent swimming, underwater, a deer on a beach shouldn't hear me all the way across the lake. It makes sustaining Deino during low player activity even harder than it already is
I figured since I complained about the Pteradactylus when they were bugged I might as well give you guys props now!
As a Ptero player I am very happy with the state of pteradactylus. They are a risk reward mechanic that I believe does not take much to turn into a positive experience.
Something to play around and gain lines for Ptera is not only fun but beneficial to growth!
edit: As a 200 hour pteranodon player specifically I like: The timer before chasing the player, the food and the nutrient amount I believe is fair. The health of the AI seems balanced due to how small and how little hunger it gives to the player.
little pteradeyctle aggro ai need to make noise when theyre chasing you and shouldnt chase you to the ends of the earth,, as a ptra i just got ganged up as a baby flying high above a forest and nearly died after flying super far.. i used up all my stam just to survive!
i dont have a video or screenshot of it thats why im just gonna say it in here instead. after the patch was released today it has happened to me twice that the boar and deer ai just vanished while chasing it (eu3). they started running and then after a few bites they just disappear while youre standing next to them and about to bite them
encountered an invincible deer today as a teno. it did not react to my presence, i hit it several times with all attacks and it did nothing but carry on sedately walking forward
A baby boar oinked and instant killed me
The fish do not spawn in the swamp even in patrol zones and since there is a lack of deino players you just starve to death or bullfrogs
I dont find AI mobs..
Good evening.
Today, while hunting frogs, I found two that were doing a forever-swimming animation, not a hopping animation, into the rocks that make up the cliff faces in River Delta. It seemed like they spawned in the marshy area that is near the sea wall and were going north, trapping themselves by being clipped. I was not able to get them from any angle, but they were making noise and making movements, so it leads me to believe they were interactable.
Ran into a deer in South Plains. It was visible, but acted as if we were not there. playing a cera. When i went to go attack it nothing happened. it was walking around and making sound but we couldnt kill it
Even tho regular ai are more common, I can still go a whole Herera life at one pond and see zero fish.
It’d be nice if every body of water had at least one school of fish that never de-spawned. Permanent.
So, I started to play deino and in my 3 whole lifes today I have seen ONE school of fish and that is all, nothing else spawned, but when I played herera few day ago, there has been plenty of food and now nothing, I don´t know if it is just my skill issue of finding it or something, but I didn´t find anything. Swamp just has no food.
I still think it would be very helpful if carnivores could smell their ai, and especially fish. Fishing spots are hard to see from the air or in trees for Ptera and Herera, and when you’re small and grounded, like a fresh Troodon or Dilo or Herera, it’s basically impossible to see anything through the grass, let alone a rabbit or deer that barely makes a sound.
Plus, ai that can run away can also see a player from like a mile off. Deer and goats stampede away from my Pteranodon even when it’s a speck in the sky, and it feels like they do the same to the grounded carnivores that are supposed to hunt them too.
Invisible ai can’t be hunted, and the same kindof applies if the ai is so good at spotting the player that it’s miles away, out of earshot, at all times. The issue with ai still sometimes seeming inconsistently hard to find, even tho they definitely spawn now, could be solved by just letting us smell them, and realize that they just keep running over the hill or into the trees where we can’t see them, too far away to hear.
Obviously, groups struggle with this less because the more players there are in one place, the more ai (saw a nesting pack of 5-6 Raptors today and they were SWIMMING in boar carcasses), so it could even be balanced by buffing a solo player’s sensory range, solely for ai, if people think it would be too overpowered for groups.
Another example, when I play Pteranodon, I hear Taco spawning in the jungle all the time as I fly past, but there is zero chance I will ever actually find one in that mess of trees and Taco height ground cover. Pteranodon’s strength is range and sight, and beach Taco are a synch to find when they’re spawned in, but forest/jungle Taco might as well be invisible.
I think it would help some aquatic issues if elite fish had a higher chance of spawning around big deinos than fish schools. I have a full grown deino in red hunger. Tons of fish schools are spawning by me, but now I'm trapped in one location. I can barely keep myself from starving while eating them, because the the food drain is basically identical to the food intake. Plus, nothing wants to come by when they hear and see a giant croc constantly surfacing and eating. I ended up logging and crossing my fingers for next time after 10 min of frantically eating little fish and not being able to get higher than 1% food.
Idea: Adding AI Insects as a food source. This would especially cater to smaller dinosaurs and omnivores, and add more ambient life. Termite mounds and ant hills to burrow, giant dragonflies to catch, beetles on the ground. So on.
traveled from delta all the way to water access, not a single fish spawn in a full server, as a deino the only thing I can find is 8-10 deer spawning at the shore and runs away while im in the water
AI is really good balanced atm
I’ve heard talk of Brachiosaurus being made into Big Ai, and I think there’s an idea there for a playable version that doesn’t work like other playables. I’m thinking spawning in full grown, with a migratory path to and from a sauropod sized salt deposit, the goal being to get there and back while being huge and visible to every carnivore on The Isle. Said paths could also be the goal of actual ai sauropods.
Other than fighting off predators, you’d also have to careful about not falling to your death and becoming a giant source of carrion.
It’s would need a lot more server and queue development probably, and maybe even its own separate queue per server to be playable…
This area in the North-East corner of the map, with lots of offices and cranes 🏗️ is VERY interesting to explore, but I have genuinely never seen a single ai creature or fish anywhere near it, meaning the only way to live there full time is as a herbivore, unfortunately.
Adding some Ai and fish spawns in and/or around this frankly HUGE human settlement would really make it more livable and less of a novelty. That or adding fish into the sea.
For the record, it’s near the northern lake, which is a bit of a hot spot, and it is the only place in the game that I have found where fresh and salt water actually TOUCH, so I always come here when I want better kidneys. It’s still a tough sell for all carnivores tho, since there’s nothing to eat after getting sick…
No AI fish spawned on North lake NA 5 for the entire hour I was on
i think i have found where the fish are spawning XD
I think AI spawns should be tied to the map rather than players to encourage exploration and hunting for carnivores. Although I don't really play carnivores, I can imagine being spoon-fed AI is never fun or engaging. Besides, I personally want The Isle to be a very "hardcore" game in its future, like the Dark Souls of survival games, so I think having the game place food near carnivores is generally a bad idea for creating a challenging and unforgiving experience.
Ai in north lake spotty, ai in swamp stilll abysmal
How did I possibly not see a single fish in the rivers? Add more fish please
I spawned in water access two different servers and no fish…
No fish any body of water I am spawning either
Too many land AI, not enough in water/coastal (especially swamps!)
No fish in swamps.
Need fish, Turtles, Frogs, something near/in the lakes & Rivers. Kinda sucks when your as slow as a turtle on land and cant find food anywhere...
I saw an AI deer run into a bunch of rocks, I thought I was being slick getting it stuck, then I keep biting it and it takes no damage,
then my dear packmate called out that I was hallucinating things and there was no AI there-
what a strange experience that was
Please for the love of god and this game... Release a hotfix where AI fills your Hungerscale MUCH faster. If you are not in a popular place where players hang around you are DEAD. we are not able to discover the whole map because of starvation!!! Please guys. let us play the game just a little bit 🙂
Why is it when I decide to play deino for the first time it happens to be in the worst time since there is no AI to eat. Please fix the no AI in swamps it is unplayable.
I know that AI dinos are in the works, and that many people here (myself included) hate the idea of them being in the game. However, I can see the need to fill out the game area if we want it to look like an actual ecosystem.
However, Ai dino haters' main complaint is that meeting someone of your species, only to find it's just some AI, is the worst feeling in the world. But maybe I have a solution to that.
Have dino AI NEVER spawn near players of the same species. Which means that as a carno player, you may encounter and be able to hunt AI tenos. However, as a teno player, you'd be guaranteed every teno you meet is a player, because AI tenos would stop spawning when you're nearby.
On top of that, maybe if an already spawned AI senses a player of the same species coming close to sight range, it will attempt to break line of sight with any player and then despawn, to ensure you never meet AI of your own species while having the benefit of AI animals filling the ecosystem.
As a Deino it is extremly hard to survive and not starve to death.. as an baby the fish AI will most likely (if you find some) fill up your hunger level but as an adult you can just hope another smaller Deino wants to get killed or another player is drinking and you can catch him offguard.. But in reality this is pretty rare because of the amount of Players around you.
I swam multiple times from swamps to water access and there was no fish at all... my friend also died mulptiple times due to the lack of fish AI in the Waters
This is maybe a comment for general-feedback but i have to bring this up with this context.
In reality crocs can have one good meal and wait for a year to eat again. In the game tho there is not much time to wait for any pray or search for it.
Idk if anyone wrote this already cuz here is so much to read.. Good Stuff from yall.. But if is im just one person more to give feedback to this
I think there might be a problem with the volume of ai that spawns in a single place
i am 41% deinosuchos in southern Beach and there whas not a single fish
The first time I played The Isle was around 2017, or something like that; I stopped and came back a few times. I decided to start again this year, but its hard... The map is huge, this is cool, however, its empty, even having 100 players online, its empty. Its hard to find food, and I died a few times while was playing as Carnotaurus...
I love the graphics and some of the playstyle, but the game's nature needs improvements, for example:
- Having AI is not bad and could be more common; different unplayable types of dinos, animals or something like that, more fish, etc. Even if its AI, the game needs a rich ecosystem.
--- Btw, English is not my mother language ---
AI partial rework
AI are really easy to kill, because of how slow they are and because they dont have a good pathfinding. Im not saying its the game's fault, since its still in beta version so it should be obvious, but with the massive amounts of ai that are everywhere, and their whole behavior, they are just easy prey. But, things like herrerasaurus and pteranodon can be very easily spotted if they are above the prey, even though it can be very high, or if theres something hiding even behind a wall, the ai can notice it.
My idea: Give ai better sight and pathfinding, but make it so its much harder to see things that are above, in a bush and make it impossible for them to see stuff behind a wall or under water (unless its a glass wall or seethrough part of the water), but make each species have different sight and hearing levels. Their hearing will depend on how close they are to the thing that is near, how much noise it makes and if there are any barriers in the way. Also increasing schooling fish everywhere (exept not making them jump out of the water as much) would be very realistic, but id also say it would be alot more realistic for them to get spooked out much easier rather than just swimming like nothing happened.
This will make hunting ai actually at least a little bit more rewarding and it wouldnt be as extremely easy to hunt them as it is right now.
AI spawn still needs more, especially fish. Swamps are especially bad, there is no surival or gameplay to be had if cant find food at all.
Please increase rabbit + chicken spawns. It's literally been months since I've seen either of them
taco is now killing frogs, rabits, chickens witch make it easy to find, the best ai change i'v encounter so far:D
tho, when u try to grab/drag a taco, it's boddy became invisible. also frogs killed by taco get buged and spam calling while having swiming animation moving in place
Would be great to see a smaller freshwater turtle added, like a snapping turtle or soft shell. Behavior could mostly mirror the sea turtles, just a different model and distributed inland.
I'm pretty sure ai have spawn zones right now, so i propose that ai shouldn't be able to wander more than 200 feet from where their spawn is and if they are chased by someone and manage to survive, they slowly wander back to their zone. I also think that the spawn zone should move around in the biome that the diets say they can be found. Like if boar and deer can be found in forest and highlands, I think the spawn zone for each should migrate throughout that environment. There could be multiple spawn zones per biome that move around separately too so that there is not food in only one part of the environment.
I think that would stop the problem of ai being chased and lost to the ether or wandering off to who knows where and still have to make players search for their food if they can't find any playables. I believe this would also work well with the migration and patrol zones, since those tend to encompass large swaths of land already.
Plus if nothing ends up killing the ai, they can just move around with the spawn zone as it moves, giving a kind of migration for the ai and adding a bit of life to each biome.
AI in the water is severely lacking. The fish that do spawn keep swimming on land or into the air indefinitely, or have bugged out and I can’t kill them. Rarely any fish spawn in Water Access anymore.
fish dont spawn in small pools for months now
If the fish are flying/swimming in land, at least let me hunt them as a pure terrestrial dinosaur such as omni
Had a deer clip against a rock and become immortal before disappearing
Issue's that need to be reported with puctures,
When underwater and attack elite fish it dissapears - I noticed it is moved due to bug to be 'flying'
Land ai getting stuck in water (look like walking on land) specifically boars can now attack in all directions - player view shows them stuck, system thinks they are moving and is able to attack as they are facing the target regardless of how they look.
Schooling Fish do spawn, their spawn points are tied to too many additional factors - OR those other factors are interfering with their spwn. - qty that exist, /is location active migration zone, # of players in area.
While I agree with OP feedback, I feel more in depth information should be provided as well as reported.
Allow AI to detect water and avoid it. Then have AI detect on sight? Or on audio but make tyr radius of detection smaller? Now AI in jungles can detect me from yards away!
I attempted to add a photo the other day when I posted it, but I had to wait for the timer to end before sending another message and I ended up forgetting... However- here is a picture of a fish flying in the sky. Guess he drank some redbull. 🥲
When will the fish be fixed in river delta this is ridiculous
Buff fish Ai in swamps heavily.
As a carnivore, taking the saltwater mutation should add turtle to your diet.
add psittacco spawns to sanctuaries
CLAMS
I think that a very helpful food source for small and young carnivores would simply be freshwater and saltwater clams.
-
Could spawn in and near water as a forageable, the same as how Galli and Beipi do now
-
Different playables will be better or worse at digging them up
-
Beipi and Austro would obviously excel at digging these up, Pteranodon would struggle a bit, and anything bigger than Cera would really have to spend time digging
-
As many as there may be, clams are small, so only smaller tiers like Beipi and Austro and Pteranodon would be able to fill up on these
-
Mid to large tier carnivores would probably only dig these up to keep from starving to death
-
There isn’t enough food for a small Pterosaur currently, so a food source like this would be needed for an addition like Dsungaripterix Weii. I would LOVE to see more Pterosaurs in the game, and they don’t get much more unique than Weii
-
Their fossils have blunt, molar like teeth, ideal for crunching mollusks and like clams and crustaceans like crabs 🦀
-
would also make some sense as an omnivore, with nuts and berries on its diet, along with small fish and insects
-
Weii would be the poster child for clams, being the fastest at digging them up besides maybe Beipi
-
Since it’s staple diet is something that would need to be foraged for, give this guy a really FAST takeoff to get away from predators
-
They were smaller than Pteranodon, so they wouldn’t offer much food for anything other than tiny carnivores
-
Ideally they would spawn in with the improved kidneys, which would let them fully inhabit beaches alongside Protoceratops and regular beach visitors
AI and MZ / PZ's needs fixing, dino's that can't move to new zones shouldn't starve due to fish not spawning in lower population areas.
Heres how dinosaur ai should behave imo:
Ai should "pretend" to follow migration zones but in reality they only exist when a number of players are heading towards a zone to save server performance.
Ai should not immediately buck when pounced, nor even buck sometimes. I've seen some amarok streams where as soon as he latched onto the ai, it started bucking which is unrealistic as you need to take account that if it was a player, they'd panic and probably forget to buck.
I would also like it for ai to have tasks like players do, spawning at patrol zones and eating and drinking. However the values may need to be tweaked because It would cause issues with food for real players. So this more of an aesthetic/immersion feature I guess.
Another thing is that I would like to be implemented is a reaction time for ai, basically a delay before they start doing defensive actions to simulate panicking.
Very sharp end, but thats all I can think of
Add ai dinos? They could be low tier threats
Idk if I am a herbivore I get attacked by AI animals, as Carnivore I don’t find any…
School fish should be on deino diet when young. They can't kill elite fish until 12% and frogs are a low spawn rarity when tadpoles breed by the thousands.
Why is there no more fish spawning in rivers? I crossed whole damn map from swamps to water access and found only one elite fish+ so i just spended 3 hours for nothing cuz i couldnt find 1 fish or 1 player across almost whole map like deino is literally unplayable dino...i killed more boars than fish in that playtime its crazy...........
Idk about yall but I have seen dozens of flying fish lately as a deino and other Dino’s. And it’s not no ordinary schooling fish but instead elite fish
Ai fish on EU7 is very bad in the highlands, been there for 30min plus and i have only seen 1 frog and a deer wich swimmed in the lake come.. Ima die as FG Deino...
Why are there so many chickens in the swamp?
NA5 east- starved to death 3 times in a row....migration path after migration path and found no ai food. Currently at north lake... no food
Even out the ai across the map, there's way too much in a few spots on the map
Ai herds that’s all I want
Would be cool if AI fish & crabs spawned around corpses resting in the water or on the shoreline - scavengers.
Yo this gotta be a bug because fish don't spawn at highlands, or some other places. I see them spawn when the server restarts, I see them spawn at south pond. But for some reason high lands and some other places don't have fish respawning and it's kinda crazy
Fix fish at highlands please
Herds in migration zones and smaller ones in patrol zones
flying fish and add some type of fish a baby croc between 0 to 15 percent growth rate because they really cant kill any dino and cant get elite fish or catfish and plus schooling fish isnt even on there diet so they have nothing to eat exept bull frog
how about they just manually spawn fish in every 10 minutes because i am starving
Aggressive AI. Nothing big but add more stuff that can endanger babies, and maybe emphasize more nesting/grouping up to protect the babies/get protected
just add more fish or food in general, can't imagine there was no fish back then how hard can it be
Cut down the number of ai spawnpoints a bit, add the feature to smell the general area where AI spawns and up the spawnrate a bit. This will cause more dinos to go for the same AI spots and will encourage more player to player interactions. Also make a mechanic for AI that prevents them from running too far from the spawnpoint. AI should return towards the spawnpoint while not being chased.
add more ai and make them more lively like deer travel in herds, add alligator ai that can snatch deer or boars drinking and maybe juvi dinos
Hello. I think a little differently compared to the AI distribution.
We should consider that carnivores are territorial mammals compared to herbivores. Carnivores are more static, more territorial, and will only move to a new territory if they wish to take it over. I'm talking about what happens in real life.
So, it would be good if the AI distribution for carnivores didn’t rely too much on the migration of herbivores. I’m not sure if this is the case... I have almost 2600 hours of gameplay, and I’ve only played as a carnivore. I can say that, even though I mostly play alone, I tend to stay in a specific area of the map... where I never run out of food.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t move to other zones. While traveling to different locations, I’ve noticed fairly large areas with no AI presence at all. I still don’t quite understand how they are distributed, how they spawn, and how frequently they respawn.
Some AI appear to spawn "Undead" As they: Do not react to any players, don't seem to take damage, and just look silly. Would be cool if ya'll would fix that bug.
Note: some of the "Undead' AI actually react to some people but do not take any form of damage.
Fish barely spawn in swamp, places like the southern beach part of the swamp are HUGE lakes, not a single fish spawns all you see is like a hog once or twice but its not near the water, Fish spawns need to be buffed all over the swamp, i think the fish spawns might even be bugged at swamps
add boars and deer to drink water and there is so fish in river delta or any place and fish only spawn when a server restarts
Whenever I kill elite fish the body disappears. Also when I’m going down the river as a deino or any other Dino I see elite fish swimming to space
Sea AIs (Sharks, Fishes and Octopuses)
AI things that have nests and eggs.
as nesting is currently a mechanic and one of the only ways a troodon can hope to get a perfect diet straight away, there should be something in game that makes nests and eggs for small dinos to steal.
Yesterday I was deino on highlands and had to wait for ~40 minutes for bullfrog to spawn. There was nothing else.
it feels as if AI only spawns during sunrise. Also, if you are the only player in the area you may not get spawns
Please add more types of creatures specially in the water and there next to nothing that spawns in the ocean so the saltwater perk is mostly useless right now
Fish that's all I have to say there need to be so much more fish
Fish spawn needs to be increased!
Another one for fish/water ai spawns increased. Please. Spawned deino bottom of south swamp, swam all the way up almost half way to water access with zero fish/food/diet until starved to death as a baby.
did they even increase the ai spawns ? ijust died of hunger in the swamp like isnt the swamp supposed to have fish for crocs to thrive? like pls make the game more playable in the swamps
If AI dinosaurs (that are also playable) ever make a return to the isle like tenontosaurus, I'd like if their calls were restricted to just friendly and threaten calls. Broadcast and danger calls can be used to tell players apart from the bots, without needing to see them, their skins or their behaviour
Less AI, please. Carnivores should be difficult to play. If you don’t want to struggle to find food, play herbivore
I love how the AI is now- there seems to be plenty on land, and the fact they detect you a bit easier helps to make it where growing a carnivore isn't entirely free
can we have the ai go to drink water from time to time? this would be a great compromise if you didnt want to raise fish spawn rate for deino
Adding some ancient smaller animals to hunt, such as giant dragonflies, early mammals, and smaller dinosaurs like Repenomamus and Didelphodon from legacy.
Not only modern day chickens, goats etc 🙂
Fish needs to give back the old amount of food for Deinos. There is not always much food around and fish is maybe then the only food source. It was fine the way it was. Or make it at least 10%, as a fg you get fish that bigger is than a fresh spawn and it gives nothing
on the new hordetest, some ai (at the very least deer, not sure if others do or not) are still making noises after they die
Elite fish shouldn’t be so strong that they make beipi borderline unplayable
To add onto this wonderful idea.
Bullsharks in the open ocean and estuary's (possibly even swimming up river into the deltas).
Giving larger crocs an AI to get Protein(S diet) and potentially spawning smaller(juvie) variants that could be hunted in the shallows by other dinos.
Manta's would be a good option too for Carbohydrates(dots diet).
Fish like Arapaima or Baracuda could make a good mid tier threat/meal for younger semi/aquatic species.
add psittaco spawns in sanctuaries
to add to this idea and expanding on the fish idea, there should also be things like schools of fish out in the ocean. and a few hostile fish. this would open the path for more oceanic player creatures to come into the game and pre set up creatures like the quetzal as well. i also think there needs to be a increase in sea turtle and crab locations (mostly crab) to cover much more beach area.
Please, we Deinos need more fish. There are so few, while land AI spawns like crazy for other dinos. Thank you! Love this game!

Idea for a new type of timed zone, like the Patrols and Migration, but it’s Grunions, these fish, doing, well…this. It’d definitely be less complicated and more island appropriate than a Salmon Run, and could feed basically any carnivore for a single night.
They specifically do it at night too, so it’d be interesting for a handful of reasons.
During the highest tides, California grunion stampede out of the ocean to mate on the beach. When the party's over, thousands of tiny eggs are left stranded up in the sand. How will their lost babies make it back to the sea?

DEEP LOOK is a ultra-HD (4K) short video series created by KQED San Fran...
AI need to have a considerably lower bleed pool (if they even have one at all) because now that deer fight back it's made getting food as a juvie for any of the smaller carnis like omni, troodon, or dilo far harder than it needs to be. When most of these dinos do barely any damage at the size they need ai to grow the most and they get instantly two shot by them whenever they aggro, there needs to be a way for these smaller dinos to keep up as juvies
As a Deino absolutly terrible! No fish for like 40min and starved to death. As a Deino im 24/7 on search for food and found absolutly nothing 8h for nothing and other dinos will not drink or go to specific lakes, central of a the dschungel
Make it easier to find small game (eg. chickens, rabbits, frogs) and/or increase their spawns. Currently as a troodon you will only run into them if you stumble upon them. This means that the only AI that a young troodon can reliably find and kill are goats, since you can hear and see them, but that gets old fast. Deer takes like 20 minutes to kill. Boars and piglets (and now deer?) can kill you as you jump off of them so they are not viable targets until you can tank 1 hit from them as a sub adult.
PLEASE increase the spawn rate of the AI game animals... Literally so many runs just end up in starving to death not even getting ONE meal. just had three in a row end that way. It seems like you either get an area where theres no food and you die, or you get your first meal with consistent food then you're golden. There is no worse feeling trying to find food over multiple runs for over an hour just dying over and over. Spent two runs in all the migration, patrol, and sanctuary zones and no food was there either.
swamps center never have food
Fish spawns are a little weird, like you can be in hl for 3h, and fish probably won't even spawn
As a solution for fish spawns, maybe give all aquatics and flyers a type of fish foraging, where special fish will spawn in while the player is sniffing near near water, similar to how Galli and Bepie currently spawn in foragiables. If it was something a little more filling than schooling fish, but obviously smaller than Elite fish, it’d be a good alternative and let aquatics and Pteranodon actually survive when fish won’t spawn on their own.
It’s so weird to me that foraging works pretty well but is only ever used on two animals. It’s a good mechanic, and spreading it out would be a good thing.
Buff fish spawns ive been to 3 different servers in different areas seen like 1 school of fish and a frog in total went all over swamp, all over water access, nothing to be seen (and died from starvation eventually on one of my deinos >.< )
First of all the AI seems great compared to when I last played (no clue about fish spawns so thats excluded in this statement), especially growing up it wasnt a problem to find AI in less populated areas as carnivores.
Regarding plants tho the sanctuary mushrooms are absolute trash... I tried going into a sanctuary yesterday found 3 mushrooms which were gone with 1 bite and gave basically nothing. Another problem I had is how incredibly fast big herbivores demolish plants. Sure they eat alot more but imo the 1 bite and gone shouldnt be a thing for any plant. Idk how its called but there was this one yellow plant which even as a juvi diablo only was one bite.
Keep up the work and Im sure there will be a good balance eventually.
First off. I appreciate all the work that goes into this wonderful game, I know we are all appreciative of the server increases and future work that is to come. I know there are others that have said it but the spawn rate for fish seems to be really long or maybe a bug idk. I just swam around for 40+ minutes in the highlands and couldn't find a single fish. I am not sure if its because the surge of deer that are spawning in one spot that is throwing it off but it seems impossible to find food. I watched about 10 deer if not more spawn all in one spot. I can't even find the small schools of fish.
Really love this game and everything you guys are doing to improve it and make it an extremely fun experience. Thank you for all that you guys do! 🙂
Devs I love you but please fix Flying elite fish and water spawning issues during the current Horde test, please. My Deino will love you.
Psittacosaurus carrying bodies is still a bit buggy. When u kill the taco he doesnt drop whatever he was carrying so when I tried to eat it for diet I got the diet from what he was carrying which was a rabbit in this case.
Also enocuntered a taco carrying a still alive frog. Cool concept but needs some more work. 🙂
most dinos, carnivores and herbivores are not receiving diet or food when they consume boar, goat, fish, elliti fish, crab, etc., an example is the deino who does not get food when he eats smaller or larger fish even though the fish are bigger than his face
as Herra its a bit sad that the compis and the other ai eat youre kill so fast. I just killed a carno (juvi) and cant juse it as bait becasue the AI cames ,1 min after i eat the organs, and eat it to the bones. Herra needs bait bodys and not only ai to bait ppl. (HT EU 2)
Please make AI actually spawn at all. Spent about an hour as a Cera in Highlands with little to nothing spawning. Both the Migration and Patrol zones were there but spawn rates went from decent to absolutely nothing for at least 20mins. The zones should each have at least a few animals at all times (or at least most of the time) so people don’t starve to death wandering around for any sign of food.
I cant find any fish its impossible to play with deino. i am playing for 2 hours with deino right now and i only found 2 little fish swarms no diet nothingf please fix this
REPOST from a suggestion I made last year. (Still think its a cool idea)
I still think boars shouldnt have 360° attacks.
Give it a certain range in front and some sort of turn radius slow so it doesnt just turn 180° on the spot. (Edit: Current turn radius is so crazy fast that u cant even outturn them as a baby raptor, might even turn on the spot still, just not when theyre charging u)
Would love to see AI spawns more consistently through the whole map. Currently seems like only a couple areas have food and the other spawns are food deserts with nothing to be found. I also think that carnivores should be able to smell the living AI's wandering around the way the Herbivores can smell the plants.
no fish in na12 water access for long periods of time.
More goat, rabbit and chicken spawns please. Less boars and Deer.
on the swamps i cant found any food...
deer god
can we have a Dodo AI ? 🦤 pls :3 ( change it for the chicken)
the lack of fish spawn in waterways is insanely annoying...
hey can we remove the ability of catfish to swallow 10% crocs whole? thanks
Idk if im just bad/new but going south as a full grown dino is 100% death sentence, there just isnt enough food and players know the area is croc filled and avoid it.
as soon as i start getting upwards of 80% as a crock is like a timer before my inevitable death, you dont even get to experience the thing you spent longer than any other dino to get.
North and dam lake have sufficient food and thats it, it makes it impossible to travel as a fg dieno.
I feel like some AI need a designated place to run, for example I was hunting some sea Turtles and I noticed we just kept going in circles whenever I kept going to the turtle's side.. atp it wasn't even trying to flee back to the water, it just let itself get killed. :'>
been seeing clumps of AI like that and drought everywhere else more and more recently (screenshot from after server restart, me and 2 other players were near this spot so I assume they spawned in a clump, at this location instead of being spread out throughout this zone like it should be, I assume what the devs did is Bump up the number of AI spawning but making them all spawn at a set point, so they kinda get stuck and move identically, solution to this would be having more spawn points or having 2-3 waves of spawns 1 minute apart)
AI should be spread out more throughout the map, its not realistic or fun to walk for 20 minutes through the jungle and not see a single thing move, but suddenly go to a hotspot and there's 2 boar and one deer in a single place. Also, a lot of biomes that you'd expect to have lots of critters running around (ex: swamps, jungles, beaches) etc feel the most empty. It seems that most of the AI spawns in plains, which is where players tend to congregate anyways. It's very rare to see a boar or deer in the forest, which just discourages players from exploring the map even more. I would increase the spawns of certain small AI like rabbits, frogs, crabs etc, and maybe add more small creatures like mice, lizards or even insects that only spawn in forests, that way jungles and swamps would have a niche as a semi-safe place for juvi carnis to grow, so they dont feel obligated to travel to hotspots to find food. Someone here suggested adding clams that spawn near bodies of water and I strongly agree with that too.
add psitacco spawn in sanctuaries
Can we have more elite fish spawn in swamp for deino, it's hard to survive off schooling fish.
Im just reposting something i suggested a while ago. I think that ai should spawn in zones that periodically move throughout the biome that the ai can be found and when the zone moves, the AI follow it.
For example, there is spawn zone for boars. Boars can be found in forests and plains, so the zone would move through those environments in a migratory fashion. This would move ai throughout the map making them feel more alive and dispersed, as well as allowing players from different portions of the map to more likely stumble upon them in an organic fashion, instead of just going to a place where everyone knows ai spawn.
There can be multiple zone that move around a biome that way if a group finds one zone and somehow eats everything, there are still others for people to stumble upon. I think this would also add some life to the map seeing ai move around like real animals
Ai Fish spawns are absolutely insane as of recently
Add Ai spawns, of all creatures to port, we already have them at North Lake but port is overgrown and rarely played at because there is no food for carnivores
increase ai in the jungle it should not be so empty everywhere not very realistic for a jungle and swamp are empty etc . Add more ai animals
also fix ai spawning they literally spawn inside structures like rock wood....
I'm fairly certain that the intense rubber-banding on the hordetest is being caused by the AI as on the no ai server the issue is practically nonexistent, and even on the servers where there are ai its not really an issue until spawns start to kick up. My guess would be it's caused by the sheer number of ai that gets spawned at any given time (like the hordes and hordes of deers or endless taco burrows as far as the eye can see)
Make tacos (piscattos) spawn in sanctuary, so it's not only good for herbis
add ai humans that live in huts and you can raid and kill them
Tapir NPCs would be the perfect ambient creature for a tropical environment like Gateway, and, in my opinion, would fit even better than the deer and boars we have currently. In fact, when ambient NPCs get custom-made original models for the game, perhaps the tapir could even replace one of the current larger NPCs, which do not necessarily fit into the environment as well as the tapir would.
One word, dodo
I have been swimming around for more the 40min as a deino and i have seen one fish how are u supposed to grow your Dino if there is no fish respawning. Kinda unfair don’t u think?
HT Pterodactylus (Im scared , not seen on screen but they are laggy , hop that will be fixed)
Tired of starving to death as a Deino because fish refuse to spawn. Especially in swamps. I Swam all the way from swamp to near water access after spawn and didnt run into a single fish and starved even with enhanced digestion. The fish spawn rate is terrible and needs an immediate update. It is ruining the game experience.
TROODON: Remove Boar from diet or change it to //.
Add Crab, seaturtle and Frog to diet (3 dot would be the best) These AI have the idle size for a Troodon.
i really like the noise traps from the trees, i think compies other than spawning near food, they can also create little swarms that pass through areas to drink or pass through. kinda like in JP 2/3 where they can have ai swarm nests (kinda like the noise traps and they behave in a similar fassion within the jungles)
Taco aggression animations when it sees a large carnivore from a distance. Then if the Dinosaur is bigger than it then it’ll trigger its 4 call try to get away.
NA 7I’ve noticed that the southern sector of the map, particularly the area spanning from the swamps to the beach coast, feels extremely desolate when it comes to AI spawns, especially for new baby dinosaurs. As a player starting out in this region, it can be challenging to find any viable sources of food or even interact with other dinosaurs in the area. This lack of AI presence significantly impacts the survival experience, making it difficult for new players to progress and thrive.
I would suggest increasing the spawn rates or density of AI dinosaurs in this area, especially in the early stages of the game. This would help make the starting experience feel more dynamic and engaging, especially for players who are new to the game or playing as a vulnerable baby dinosaur.
refill more food % from tiny fish and other smaller AI,
sertain dinos have tiny fish in the diet however as a fully grown dino (more so the deinosuchus) it barely fills any of your food
and as we also know alot of carnivores have deer , boar , and goats as diet but the smaller ones barely refill any food aswell ones u become fully grown
More small AI is needed for smaller preds, seems overly skewed towards deer and boars being everywhere while Rabbits, Frogs, and chickens hardly exist, I mean starting a Troodon in any location but south plains is just torture right now.
I think ai should stop to eat and drink too, make it more realistic
I think archaeopteryx would be a great ai addition to have in the trees gliding around. It would bring more life to the forests and could act as competition for hypsi once it can climb the trees and it could be a good ai food source for herrara.
Only pond AI is spawning in hordetest. Frogs & fish only.
Fish AI on deinosuchus diet. It makes no sense for it not to be on one's diet even though deino's live with them.
Add some way to sniff for AI
please make ai more pop bc the island is really really really big with little player count you can really only survive on ai if your not in the hot spots
Make it where AI spawns in places other than South Plains, Highlands, and West Rail.
ever since trike released to ht , i literally cannot find terrestrial ai , i can find fish and frogs as semiaquatics but no deer no boar no psittacos
Seems like AI will never die from bloodloss, yet they bleed all over the place. Would love to see this changed and enable AI animals to bleed to death.
Deer should not be able to jump from this height and live
Ai need stamina that can be run out. They also need better dino detecting, a deino underwater should not spook ai, nor should a pterra flying overhead that isn't calling.
Get rid of ais insta turn and the ability to not fall off clifs
Agree with @graceful temple from 3/8/2025. East Lake and the entire beach are food deserts (which is likely why I didn't see anyone else there). As a Deino spawning in East Lake it's better to drown yourself than waste time trying to find food. Even Youtube guides say this.
It’s mostly for the creatures along the beach coast and into the small southeastern plains around the swamp, like Raptors and Herras. It’s really for any wildlife that could use some AI assistance to move to their next spot. It just feels a bit too empty at times— even with a few players around, AI spawns seem pretty scarce, if there are any at all.
Please fix the ai spawn on ht, the first ht launch was doing great with ai, I could survive fine but now? I can't find any ai anywhere. I barely found a deer and a taco and yesterday all I could find was dead frogs and bunnies and I couldn't even eat them, they were bugged
Violent AI shouldn't be spawned by the creatures they hunt. Elite fish warping on top of a single duck or freshly spawned croc, unannounced, is bull.
HT feedback. Please, fix tacos dragging AI bodies and making them non-edible. They seems to be bugged in general cause often their burrows are empty (in 95% of scenarios).
add a hippo ai creature to feed growing barys, and spinos in swamps and east plains that will be able to fight back and be a compentent fighter if not taken seriously (maybe make them like around 1 ton to 1.5 tons as real ones can reach up to 3 tons which i don't think a bary will be able to kill esscially if growing). I believe this will bring new ai creature for different habbits and not always the same in every location.
theres no fish anywhere on na 4
Love this haha
i had a fish fly away from me. i have a screenshot somewhere lol
add lizards and snakes, with the same spawnrate of mice (shared spawnrate maybe?)
Ai fish (food in general) in the swamps, been roaming the Swamps since spawn and havent found anything to eat
<@&933486433342222376> doesn’t seem legal
ai aquatic (dolphins, sharks) for salt deinos
hippo ai to inhabit swamps and east plains that weigh around 1-1.5 tons for barys and spinos
when playing as deino there is sufficient AI spawning, however when fully grown, the elite fish give you 3% and the school fish give you 0.3%. It makes the deino life so much harder, turns everyone to cannibals and just ruins the experience.
I think the fish that spawns is enough, but they just don't give enough food when I think they should.
^^^^^ Horribly False, There is NO sufficient AI spawning across the board, especially fish, finding fish is the WORST. Swamps have next to none, you will have to swim ENTIRE swamp to lucky find 2-3 Elite fish TOTAL. Literally gonna starve to death before can do anything.
fish is hard to find even if i stay long in a zone, some big fish when appear the fly out the river, or idk why I see them in my screen flying out and obusly I can't catch them
Please, fix AI on HT! It works very odd: sometimes there are deers clamp up on top of each other, sometimes literally 0 crabs across beaches.
Another broken thing that there are a lot of dead bodies of chickens, frogs, rabbits which presumably died to taco (which usally can't be found anywhere near for some reason). They can't be eaten or picked up for some reason. Those bides seemingly prevent any other AI from spawn which is bad.
Devs, please, fix this mess!
let us play as ai dinos
Dinosaur AI Interactions
From how AI currently plays, its seems as though AI has no purpose other than serving as Food or Population control. I would much prefer that not be the case, I didn't mind it when Tenontosaurus AI was able to just hang around and herd Tenontosaurus Players but to add a layer of complexity and also intractability. Players could ask an AI tenontosaurus to join a group while simultaneously taking up a group player slot and this will determine whether or not the AI would follow the player around.
This would use a similar system as the current inviting system in game and to add an element of chance to it, AI could have varying levels of acceptance to joining groups, e.g.: Ceratosaurus AI has a 20% chance of accepting whereas Tenontosaurus AI may have an 80% chance of accepting, if the AI decline, they could respond after with a threaten call.
Furthermore, players could attempt to Court AI in an attempt to nest with them, while this may be much harder to code and whatnot, this will still give players an opportunity to nest between same species that may have a low population in the server. One small issue would be deciding the place for a nest, in which Player-AI nests will ignore the decision of the female and override it by giving the player the decision to place a nest. After the nest is placed, the AI would enter a searching state where it looks for building materials for the nest, or automatically dig the mound nest for the player. If the AI is female it will automatically begin gestating and laying eggs when a nest is built.
AI will assume the protectorate role of a nest whether it is male or female and defend the nest with its life against similar sized threats and attempt to run around and distract larger threats based on the difference in weight. After the eggs are hatched, the AI will return to its initial default herding/pack state and behave like any other AI within a player's group.
Even though we enjoyed the feast, the ai could use some better pathfinding
-# Screenshot taken on March 9th
give ai stamina so they just dont run away forever
Quick fix, bring Avas back that work like legacy make them give no diet that's fine just food
can we add more AI spanws to swamp? Seems pointless to spawn there as a croc and search for over an hour to never find fish and just starve to death. Waste of time.
I don't know if its just hordetesting but for some reason no Ai spawns even though there should be and I couldn't even pick up or eat dead rabbits or frogs.... is this a glitch? And there was nothing in the burrows.
YOU NEED TO ADD MORE KURWA FISH OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT BCS I WAS STARVING EVERY TIME ON DEINO
Can vouch that swamp has abysmal AI spawning
chickens are bugged on the HT or is it just me?
For the sake of all creatures that eat fish, please make fish much more common. As in, as long as you eat fish and you are near water, that water should have fish and frogs in it.
As others have mentioned some biomes like swamps are lifeless - no fish, no frogs...this needs to be fixed should be rich with life
-I've thrown myself off a cliff 3 different times today because i was dying from starvation anyways. AI seems non-existent and as a new player i see it encouraging some really toxic behavior from other players. with ppl relying on dog-water ping and camping sanctuaries, its really hard to enjoy the game fully. sure you make it so sanctuaries can only be sniffed out by hatchlings/juvies but its kinda redundant when i can just hop on google and look up the coordinates.
Really difficult to just survive on a croc once you get to 3rd/4th stage on the lack of AI spawns. Sure you could just stay in north lake or in the river and find plenty of elite fish but there is no (minimal) player pop there. So you try to make 'the great journey' to make it to south plains BUT by the time you get to the lake to the south of it there is minimal spawns and you gain 0.5% hunger from fish. If there are no players there or elite fish, yr screwed. Even if there are elite fish they give you 5% hunger.... you are just dead.
I tested on some fish that were in the pond. I picked up 3 schools of fish (15 fish) and set them on the shore. Before I began grabbing fish I was 32% when i finished eating all of them I was 26%. meaning all of the time i spent and all of the fish i ate I still lost hunger. Im just dead. After getting a croc to 90% and dying to starvation in the swamps now going to be 70% and die in lake south of SP.
Deino needs help. 16 hours of gameplay with no reward.
Herding behavior, I saw it in action with the deer in phase 1 of hord test and it looked amazing. Bring it back!
If the running AI is simply too much to handle for the servers in large quantities, add corpses of AI to spawn. The current form makes it very hard to carni's to survive the beginning.
im new this game looks great ive died of starvation twice tho how do you find food? how does ai spawn? max pop servers in the recommend locations next to other players why is the game deisghned so that i have to hunt through discord and reddit to learn how to find food? im using q all the time also* and very confused
quite literally just swam around teh entire swamp and dident find 1 fish, not even any small ones. congrats just killed a fg dino now there is not 1 fish in the entire river connected to the water access all the way down to salt water, how is this playable its not fix your game. 1/4+ of the entire map is a ghost town not 1 tiny fish
also fix the ai spawn in general. spawn more, spread them out. half the descriptors say "ALL blahblahblah biomes" but theres little to no signs of life. when you DO find ai, players are just camping spawns and sitting on kills. no map exploration, just "yup, this is what im doing all day". carnivores seem to have little to no food sources as hatchlings aside from other corpes and people who have been no-lifing the server all day are the only ones getting any fun out of it.
Add plenty of nondiet AI food at the salt water spots where crocs can easily get to from fresh water, so crocs dont die from starvation nor desperately need to eat eachother
It would be fascinating to see large dangerous ai on the map as well that would serve as a rewarding challenge for carnivores that dare take them on.
Just as an example, I'm talking about stuff like giant mammoths, perhaps in pairs or small herds, weighing several tons, aggressively defending themselves.
Taking them down would require teamwork and patience.
Would serve as a temporary exploration/migration interest point, and their corpses would create competition / interaction.
I know large dinos / apexes aren't meant to live off of ai, but that is in regards to currently helpless small ai. If ai receives a worthy upgrade such as the above, I think it would be a great fun quality of life thing, like an optional quest to give ppl something to do on this giant map when not enough players are around.
flying fish!! XDD
not sure if this is the right channel, but this was the 2nd time i saw this today lol
Like do something with ai spawing. When you are solo baby carnivore is almost impossible to survive. Bc you cant find dead bodys as a juv. Pls do something about that
Honestly… I think we could use a soft rework of AI spawns. If the devs want players to not be dependent on hotspots, then two of the most straightforward things to do to balance this is:
1: Don’t make all AI spawn in hotspots. I should be able to find a deer or rabbit in the corner of the map just as easily as in Highlands, because why would all the herbivore AI be crowded around a carnivore hotspot anyways?
2: Have more AI that Juvi carnis can reliably hunt. Deer and Boar are not reliably killable as a fresh spawn, and Rabbits and Chickens are so rare that they are essentially a non factor in survival. Seaturtle and Crabs don’t even seem to spawn consistently except in the coast off west rail access. Frogs are far rarer than they should be. We need rats, lizards, insects etc that can provide food for juvis, and ideally they would spawn in jungles and swamps more often then plains, since those biomes feel dead at the moment. AI spawning in Sanctuaries would be a no brainer as well. At the moment, as a juvi carni you are going to hold w until you reach whatever hotspot is closest because that is the only way to guarantee a meal.
Saltwater ai?
add more fish to the swamps and the rivers, especially schooling fish. At the moment its really hard to find fish at times especially in the swamps but also when travelling around the rivers i didn't find any fish, and talking about the swamps, i would like to see more semi aquatics living around that area, now its just abandonned and you can't really survive there. And rivers in general feels just empty and dead.
Horseshoe crabs AI for coastal areas, please. Make those S-diet which would make fully completed coastal themed diet for carnivores. They also would add some more prehistoric vibe to the coasts while it's technically a modern day critter.
add more flyign ai that could be food for ptera or smaller carnis could ambush them while on land (or just make pterodactyl flock spawn and make carnis able to hunt them as food source for smaller dinos)
Make these act like sage rats, in a colony and depending on the size of the Dino approaching they will either use the 4 call and scatter, or use the 3 call and scatter
(Also updating the taco sling to this paleo accurate one)
Live look at all the AI in the swamps
Fish AI Arowana (Swamp , Lakes , Rivers)
Fish AI Arapaima (Swamp, Lakes , Rivers)
Fish AI Onchopristis (Ocean, River)
Fish AI Dipnorhynchus (Ocean)
AI Horseshoe Crab (Beach, Coastal)
AI Ammonite (Ocean)
slow down the frogs walking speed a little or speed up the animation, it kinda looks like it's sliding
Add the intelligent AI we saw on stream even unfinished it’s t better than the nothing we have now
Add psittaco spawns in the sanctuaries, this will help the juv troodon since their speed has been reduced to the point of being almost as slow as a trike and dibble juv
I think all Ai should give diet. Preferred food gives more, organs giving the most. Ai should also get small organs, not enough to feed a FG anything, but enough to give freshspawns at least 20%.
Make AI Zones certain places on the map so people can have more pvp Im tired of running around when AI zones change every 10 minutes
Please for the love of god.. FIX your water AI water spawns... You Nerf the deino as a dino then you have a defect AI spawn system which makes surviving as a FG croc hard if you can't get other players killed.
I sat through the night last night from 2 AM to 6:30AM growing a Deino. got to 70% before I went to bed. logged back on 6 hours later. got to FG and finally I could start hunting unsuspecting prey. Only, there were no AI to keep me sustain while waiting for players. a server is full and not a single person shows up. I moved half the map along the river looking for players. not a single one. Nor did I find ANY fish. I found 1 singular frog from Northern lake and all the way down to the end of plains river. Thats after spending several hours cuircling Northern lake and going up and down between the two first waterfalls. only finding the occasional School of fish (not really sustainable) and 1 or 2 Elite fish once in a blue moon. Oh and by the way. Typically when I spawn up there it is an abundance of crocs larger than me. I found.
PLEASE, PLEASE,, PLEASE. Fix the water spawns at least to such an extent that a croc can migrate to other lakes and rivers without risking starvation. Heck you even risk starvation remaining in a stretch of water.
I've been following this game closely since alpha, and the only dino I enjoy playing is the Deino. It has the most interesting playstyle, but yet the most challenging by far. Everyone want you dead, the game want you dead, the AI next to never show up. Of also before I forget while traversing land last night. Three seperate occasions did a bunny spawn directly infront of me, yet water is as dead as my FG croc after starving.
For mutations I was running increased O2, Swim speed and hunger depletion reduction.
add ai spawns to migration zones, the big ones and small ones
Put Psittacosaurus on most Carnivore diets. Maybe when you're a juvie, It could fill up all your diets instead of one. This could act like Sanctuary mushrooms, but for Carnivores.
Make carnis baby have more ai in thier diet and it will slowly remove the ai from PF food when you hit 40-50% then you get those ai removed by half.
Also make chicken spawn more common its small it should spawn more commonly
Maybe the issue with Croc AI spawns is the flying fish? I jumped on a Server right after reset and it spawned in 1000 elite fish, more than i had ever seen, But within 5 minutes I would say about 15 of them started flying away. Maybe thats why they arent spawning later, because they are already in the world just in the sky?
Sky fish
Make land AI able to drink
Just make them have to drink in general after a while
Add chickens to raptor lines diet.
itd be really cool if i didnt have to waste a mutation slot on efficient digestion because ai is so non existent, ive gotten more food off of other palyers who starved than i have my own diet requirements at this point.
land Ai also has the ability to sense deino underwater from a mile away, they got some strange superpowers
Give the schools of fish more diet/growth rate for deino past 20-30%.
you can sit them on the bank for diet but once you hit that 20-30% they become void. would love to see a buff to the schools for growing deinos. that way you arent really kept to just chase elite fish until of size to hunt other dinos. might also make deinos more friendly 😂
give the tiny ptera an audio que before they fly up on you, it sucks just getting attacked by birds that just spawn on top of you with no time to react. or give them time to fly up on you before attacking.
i think no or minimum food on saltwater is okay for now as it makes it so theres not millions of crocks in unexpecting water, but just more fish in general in the waters or more hunger % from them
can the spawn rate for the fish be fixed? i have managed to starve completely from a full stomach as an pre-adult and found no fish at all as a gator
Honestly can the spawn rate of the water ai be fixed.... The fact that I got up to 60% deino and couldn't find anything then got eaten by a fg cause they were starving also... This is making this game so frustrating to play.....
Literally any AI in the sanctuaries please...
some roaming elite fish of some kind in the ocean would be sweet (like a saltwater gar), it’d give deinos more things to do when they decide to live the salt water life. it could also be food for larger flying creatures in the future.
also, make it so sea turtles sometimes spawn/roam in the ocean. for the same reason as above & add it to deino diet if it isnt already there (i dont play deino)
I mean.. I don't know what else to say. The picture speaks for it's self.
Please fix
More ai to eat
^ If more AI were implemented the game would be 10x more enjoyable
25 ai just spawned infront of me 😭 maybe we gotta spread em out a lil
Another day with spending over two hours in a pond as a deino and only seeing three elite fish and a handful of school fish.... Please fix the ai spawning issues....
Prioritize AI spawning near carnivores. Every time I'm playing as a herb, 6 deer or boar spawn all at once next to me, but when I play as a carnivore I rarely see 1 deer or boar...
I'll be honest with you. the pure inconsistency of AI spawns has actually made me stop playing. I honestly refuse to play again until y'all resolve that issue. I understand you want this to be a difficult game and have people rely on killing each other, but that's not consistent enough. You can force player engagement in other ways than just killing them if they're unlucky enough not to find anyone. God at one point when i'm starving I just start broadcast calling and hoping someone kills me or something. And yet- nothing happens. It has to do with map design. Y'all have a tendency to focus on aesthetic over functionality and it's bringing the game down. The isle can be a fantastically immersive game when it works- but lately and for the past months it's been starving simulator with an occasional moment of excitement... it doesn't help that this is exclusive to carnivores. Herbivores can graze to infinitely stay alive, and carnivores should realistically have a similar option, or just more consistent AI spawns.
Don't have the elite fish be able to swallow a full grown beipi or give dinos that can get swallowed a chance to get away similar to bucking. having to fear dying to ai over other players is a bit ridiculous.
or make it specific elite fish, like the cat fish, that have a chance to target smaller dinos in the water with them instead of a lock on death especially with how fast some of the fish can be.
just over 10 hours into the game, am loving it so far except for the lack of ai in the swamp right now. There is 1 school of fish and 1 frog and thats IT, it seems like a bit of a waste of time to grow there (as a deino at least) especially since theres also no nutrients and rarely do players come even on full 100 server.
Perhaps adding more ai fish in the swamp would at least give us deinos a chance to not starve to death most of the time we spawn there.
I've had a lot of trouble finding tacos recently as a raptor, it would be nice if they made sound more often or something so they could be tracked more easily, burrows are hard to spot sometimes and finding an empty one sucks, whuch wouldnt be a problem if i could track the taco it belonged to. Also I second the idea of them being in sanctuaries:)
Please revamp AI spawns to be more consistent and not so blatant. I have lost count on how many times AI would spawn right in front of me almost always breaking immersion. Other times there is no AI spawning especially if there are no players around, you could sit by a potential spawn area and nothing spawns for a day.
The game feels lifeless sometimes which shouldn't be the case.
Increase bullfrog spawns, they're virtually nonexistent right now. The water feels lifeless outside of the lonesome school of fish or elite fish.
We either need fish spawn increase or the values given towards hunger per fish its almost impossible to live as a full grown deino
increase small ai spawns and decrease large ai spawns
I think the chicken AI should be replaced by pheasants or water fowl, as seeing domestic chicken run around in the wild is highly immersion-breaking to me. I can understand deer, boar and rabbits being able to survive on an island full of dinosaurs, because they're actual wild animals (and even invasive species in the case of boars) but how do domestic chicken even survive more than 5 minutes there ? The answer is clear whenever any player sees one : they don't.
Not only it would be better to replace them with similar wild species visual-wise, but it could come with behavioral adjustments : Pheasants would fight back against very small predators and run away from the rest, before jumping into the safety of trees.
Water fowl would live near water sources, try to retreat on water if they're attacked by a land creature, and try to retreat on land if they're attacked by a water creature.
Both options would turn chickens from stupid-looking free meals to actual animals capable of surviving on a hostile island and, if I may be so bold as to say so, maybe even engaging to hunt.
I think herbivores shouldn’t be factored into ai spawns.
Ive noticed so many ai spawned around me playing as herbi when there was no carnivore around, for hours…
That ai would be more useful elsewhere!
Could be neat for AI to spawn around Juvis like in legacy but the spawns stop once you reach sub adult so your forced to go fight for food when your actually able
Good afternoon everyone, I don't know if you've already complained about this fish bug, but I'll reinforce it here, the fish AI is very buggy, making it almost impossible to find fish in rivers and lakes, and when you find them, you capture them and when you come out of the water with them in your mouth, they simply disappear from your mouth and from the game, unfortunately the isle is against the deino 😭
I am curious of everyone’s opinion…….
What if less AI spawned in highly congregated areas? (I’m looking at you South Plains) and Instead AI spawned more in area with low player density. The hope being to get people moving around some into some of the less frequented parts of the map?
Please fix the ai issue on high pop servers
Frogs and Rabbits, being how AI has some issues - spawning in rocks, trees or just being an ornery varmit and deke' the heck out of fresh spawns hunting them.
I propose this change.
- option 1 ) Rabbits / frogs despawn after 5 to 10 minutes outside of players draw distance.
- option 2 ) Rabbits / frogs die after being in game for 10 to 20 minutes of not fleeing from dino.
This will have the following effect,
-
lower ai count and increase ai spawn rate where needed.
-
same as 1 but add findable bodies to attract predators, giving food and potential conflict.
Edit - this can be effective for all ai spawns.
I ask to fix the fish because the spawn is very buggy, there are fish flying too!
The fish spawn is extremely buggy, I play on an unofficial Brazilian server, and literally not a single fish appears to feed on Deino, the concentration is all in South Plains, and Deinos can't appear there, and it's not just me who's complaining about this there, and in the game, many people report dying of hunger or cannibalism simply because they don't have food, and giving up playing Deino, please, fix the fish spawn.
the fish spawn on official servers is so ass🤣🤣
FG deino and the game has chosen to starve me to death, refusing to spawn fish for no reason
Is this a bug? the moment migration zone went to water access all the AI fishes disappeared lol or do AI despawn i dont even know lol
Ngl when you get ya croc FG just go fight because if you DONT you going to die because its not enough fish in the water to live...its sad taking all that time to get Fg and cant find food in the water..smh
didnt know AI elite fish can fly 😛 thats why i dont find them in the rivers as a deino bc they are in the air 😛
increase chicken and rabbit spawn a bit. there is almost no
Baby boars needs some damage adjustments, their attack dmg + speed are abit overtuned. Didnt know my little raptor would get killed from 100% to 0 in a matter of 0.5 sec.
Bullfrogs need a little love. They spawn 2 at a time once every several hours, and if you don't catch them right away they jump off into the distance never to be seen again. They should have a sort of tether to whatever water source they spawn in, keeping them nearby the water and not 3 miles into the jungle
Fix the Spaghetti code of AI's and perhaps other things that is hardcoded so you don't have to make changes, upgrades, fix-bugs etc in the source-code.
As a matter of fact, hire a good software architect. It will help ease up the devs work and instead they can work on fun stuff, like continue developing the game in a good pace.
All AI should spawn more similarly to taco
Taco has more consistent spawns than any other AI and it’s in more reliable places
Spots should have fixed numbers of AI that spawn in relation to the area you are at
For example: South plains is a plains area with a river , you should get a lot of rabbits and frogs
Fish should also have these fixed spawns so pteranodon or beipi isn’t completely out of luck
The sea water close to the beach should spawn fish, also, the turtles should be found more often.
im not sure if fish/Elite fish population is so low as a game feature to make it harder for deinos to grow
but im kind of noticing its more of a bug, where they would be at very dead places, proably taking down the overall population count for no use, and/or being inside rocks and meshes, making them seem as "there isnt any fish here" while there actually is
but even tho if its a mechanic, please make it more spread around, yet so scarce, rather than be in populating certain spots while having others dead
ais besides the boar should have the ability to fight younglings instead of running from them.
Why is Boar on a Troodon's diet when you can't pounce one and hop off again without getting one-shot because Boars can turn on a dime in an instant?
Honestly, large ai wouldn't be a bad idea at all, as long as they pose a very legitimate challenge, such that they are not 'free food to sustain apexes' but rather a reward for multiple apexes taking them down together and putting their lives at risk for.
It's a great solution for a huge map with often empty areas.
Apexes should not be allowed to freely sustain themselves with ai ever. But that's assuming we are talking about current weak ai that can't really fight anything except babies.
Give boar AI a knockdown move on things herra sized or below and increase their health so that ai is harder to kill rather than nerfing the good values into oblivion.
Something similar could be applied to deers and goats, or with goats give them some dodge or something to escape more easily
Why when want chicken... no chicken.
When baby dibble, chicken spawn... chicken fight... chicken fight me?
8 Chicken in 20 minutes have been impaled. Fix chicken spawn... perhaps yes.
When/if ai Dino’s like teno carno etc are added, would it balance out based on what the server is primarily?
Like a herbi stacked server gets a few ai carnivores to deal with, and high pop carni servers get equivalent “challenges”.
Dilo full server might get some ai carnos or raptors to chase them down, but smaller playables like troo, dryo, hypsi etc get ai that are part of their “environment”/predators/prey list.
That way, no one is safe camping fringe spots, and might help move players around.
Could make the game “harder” but also adds potential for when humans are integrated in.
Please don't add any ai playables
Ai playables would be amazing for ambience and if done well could make the game feel like a fleshed out ecosystem but it's probably for the best if it's delayed and roster playables are focused for now
Been playing HT recently and I did notice a potential bug that I sadly couldn’t screenshot. Was strolling around north lake as a troodon knowing full well that tacos would be there, and I saw a lot of frog corpses, as well as a chicken and another troodon just there lying on the grass with no taco nearby (not even hearing them) and couldn’t be eaten, so I am assuming this is probably tied to some taco feature that should be looked into
Taco is way to agro, or the other AI is way to passive and gets curb stomped by taco, either way taco is to good at hunting the other AI. Make other AI fight back or top off how much taco hunts or detects other AI
I´ve seen a lot of dead frogs and chickens that lay there but you can´t interact with. I feel like tacos can drop them at random and somehow bug them. I believe this tanks a lot of performance, as there are bodies littered where tacos are that you can´t eat to get rid of.
I just had an idea. In real life, it sometimes happens that dead whales and the like wash up on the shore. It was no different in the days of the dinosaurs. How about an event where a mosasaurus or a megalodon washes up dead? Then some carnivores could meet there unintentionally and there would be competition. Of course, this shouldn't happen often and the server should be able to manually set when, where and how much.
What do you think?
Taco spawns In the sanctuaries
a bunch of broken ai in horde testing almost got me killed couldnt eat any of them
ais blood is just teleporting up into the sky, that was a male deer
Tacos are rioting and leaving so many bodies around I believe. Could be affecting the fps and also leads to misleading scent icons showing up.
So I would reiterate that you might need to look into it
What would you think of dragonflies on lakes that could catch and eat petris and small dinosaurs?
Increase small AI spawns.
Finding a crab, frog, rabbit and chicken is really rare and needs an increase to help especially the troodon
Small ai spawns are great, but should be limited to in and around sanctuaries.
This way the player population can self regulate AI.
What I mean by this is that if there's a lot of babies in a 100 person server, the game will automatically gravitate towards small ai since those babies will head towards sanctuaries, and will proportionally decrease large ai which babies can't hunt anyway.
On the flip side, if theres mostly full grown giants on a server with few to no babies, then these small ai won't spawn cause nobody would go into sanctuaries, and this would create room for large ai to spawn which would actually be of use.
You can't really "search" for random tiny AI like chickens on a giant map with dense vegetation like this - it's almost always a chance occurring. So please consider setting zones for them in sanctuaries.
Maybe make shooling fish spawn seperate from semi aquatics being in the water. It just makes it obvious that there is something in there and it´s also bad for things like ptera, who can´t get fish as often that way. (not sure if the spawns actually work that way, but it seems like it)
I lived in a swamp once. You know what was there? Gators. Know why? Fish. Lots and lots of fish. Oh, and frogs, and deer, and hogs. No goats though, this was Louisiana. Anyway. I’m wondering why art can’t imitate reality. Somehow this game thinks swamps, some of the most bio diverse habitats on earth, are food deserts? Food for thought (pun intended).
Herding Ai please, like deer walking together in the same direction, running together, only separating when overwhelmed
Guess this belongs here, but I think a larger ai creature should be added, like a water buffalo or something. I imagine it giving a little less food than a teno and no diet. Mainly this is so that apexes on low population servers aren't completely screwed.
As a deino player, I LOVE the water buffalo idea. I’d rather it give deinos protein and remove FROG from the diet. Frogs are only even useful for about 20% of a deino’s life. Water buffalo or any large, semi-aquatic AI (that didn’t flee instantly from submerged crocs) WOULD BE AMAZING, and it could be a fighter even. Something that holds its own until a croc is bigger; and therefore give maybe twice the food of a pig. (Swamp monster?)
More AI spawns at ports, Specifically nearby not "In"
Currently all i've seen at ports spawn is like 1 goat in like 100 hours, and endless chickens.
Giving carnivores a better reason to come to ports would be nice but as for now there's not a huge reason to go for a carnivore cause hardly any food ever spawns there.
Pterodactylus stealing meals while my pteranodon is midflight is bogus. Punished for successfully catching fish.
More turtles on the beach even if player count is low would be the bees knees
Patrol zone or something for the island to make them useful.
Went there and sat there for a total of a hour before starving to death cause nothing spawned.
fix the swamps and make it have a normal ai spawn.....its literally a dead zone......also make some ai for dense jungles..... jungles are also dead zone max time
i think a simple fix for the ai spawns would be actually confining them to their spawn biomes, that way we wont have mobs simply wander off into the wilderness or float off into the sky; fish, and make finding them more reasonable for juvi carnivores
add more AI for deino
Yea, fish spawns are still broken, the elite fish either swim through the air or fail to spawn all together. I’m hearing boar and deer but it’s refusing to spawn fish. The game might starve me again
fix boars somehow, as an adult troodon, its basically impossible to kill a boar solo (i get its a group dino but we dont always get that luxury), the boars just endlessly run DIRECTLY at you with no way to pounce them even if you run full speed around them
they also seem too do damage out of nowhere, no hit animation at all, and nuke you in 1 second as a FG troodon.
AI are terrible for fish, turtles, and crabs. Trying to thrive as a young Deino is nearly impossible right now.
Add Ocean life.
Dolphins, sharks, tuna etc.
There should be an abundance around the oceans. Add patrol zones to make it viable to patrol the whole exterior beaches.
Dodo bird AI. Need I say more?
^^^
Just replace chickens with dodos
AI calls
It does not matter how much ai you add to the map if they don't interact in any helpful way. There are hundreds and thousands of bushes and trees between you and whatever you’re looking for. And the game doesn’t help you bridge that gap. There’s no sound design guiding your ear. No environmental language telling you where to look. The ai make noise sure, but its never enough to track them, just enough to get you to run in the general direction only to be met with silence. Hunting ai feels random and due to pure luck because of this.
whats up with a swamp supposedly full of biodiversity not having a single elite fish to keep my fully grown deino from dying
Same problem in the east swamp, I think more then one deino has to be present for fish to spawn in most places
Lacking AI for Deino. Swam from an entirely empty Swamp to Water Access and not a single fish was found. Need more elite fish as schooling fish give virtually no food for an adult Deino anymore.
Where are the crabs? 😦
AI should not respond to Deino presence until said Deino surfaces. Starving Deinos everywhere just have to watch the deer startle before they should be aware of the danger and hope one of them decides swimming is a good way to escape something else.
Edit: this is basically a repaste of something touched on in an above suggestion, but definitely needs to be stated outright.
Additional Ai options:
-Octopus and saltwater fish species for shallow ocean waters
-freshwater turtles that Austro and Bary can dig for at the river/lake/swamp bottom
-termite mounds and/or ant nests for Dryo and Hypsi
-bee nests (outside sanctuaries) that Herreras and Hypsis can raid in the treetops
-ground hogs that small theropods can dig for.
-bird nests in treetops
-insect swarms(?) where you “graze” on an area high in insects
Switch boar back on to cera diets. Goats used to be nothing for ceras and boar was the one that gave Lipids.
The lack of food available for ambush predators when server populations are low is ridiculously bad. Herra at least has the benefit of being able to chase down a goat or similar. Deino? Elite Fish, Schooling Fish, or if you're very lucky a goat/deer that decided to go for a swim- and that's when AI decide to spawn in your area. As a player who wants to main Deino and is limited to playing when their work schedule allows (meaning low pop or HIGH ping before work when I want to grow my Deino) it really doesn't feel good to watch yourself reach 73% then starve because the next time you log on there's nothing substantial enough to even tide you over, never mind continue growing.
Why were AI Dinosaurs removed? I would personally love to see AI herbivores spawning at migration or patrol zones, even if it is limited to only when the server is low pop to save on resources when they're needed most.
Baby turtles that Pteras and small carnis can carry.
I do main deino, if other people aren’t around where you are you literally can’t play the game or you’ll starve. The AI fish spawning mechanic practically doesn’t exist at this point or it breaks constantly I’ve lost 2 FG deinos to the game starving me now that I can remember off the top of my head
add more different fish such as sturgeon sharks etc in lakes rivers and seas..... especially the seas as they are empty and river lake ai is not up to the mark feels empty and swamp etc are literal dead zones.
semi aquatics will be coming so time to fix up
There just desperately needs to be more ai in the water, the map is way too big for 100 people. If you play deino and you don’t want to be cannibilized by a deino duo who doesn’t know how to play the game properly at a hotspot, you will almost never see anyone…which means if the ai doesn’t keep spawning…you just die
I’m not sure if it’s been said before but I’ve noticed sometimes when I’m as admin and in admin view for AI I see some below map or at least the name is showing there so maybe if there’s way to stop that?
CAN WE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD INCREASE FISH SPAWN i just went from 100 percent food to starving to death as a 30 percent deino in a pond that i had no buisness starving in
AI Hordetest Feedback
Good to see AI calls are way better now. They call more often, which makes hunting feel more natural instead of just running around hoping to bump into them as the only means to finding them.
One thing that would help is if AI did a 4 call before running off (like in legacy). Right now, they often spot you and just silently bolt. That’s a problem as you might follow the calls, not realizing the AI already ran off, and you’ll never know. It’s especially rough since AI don’t really have “eyesight,” so they’ll spot you through bushes way before you see them. A 4 call would help with that and make things feel more immersive too.
I think swapping ALL the AI in the game for AI dinosaurs would be a nice change, NOT playable ones like teno, as that takes away from the spectacle of finding a herd of player Dino’s (Atleast that’s how I felt with AI teno)
But just simple Dino’s to replace boars/goats/rabbits/chickens etc.
Something like a little herd of ornithomimosauria running around would be so much more cool when you’re playing as a dinosaur.
Also what ever happened to compy? Add that back into the game to scavenge bodies, make it eat the bodies so it not only cleans up the server (and eats bones) but also adds another level of interest in your kills as you need to defend them from compys (make them stay a set distance away from the player if they are a bigger dinosaur and only go in if the player moves a certain distance from the corpse)
I feel like this is a common issue for us Deino lovers. It's super understandable that the deino has the slowest growth rate, however; not only is it insanely hard to get a perfect diet before 45% growth, but it's insanely hard to STAY ALIVE. Even on low pop servers, there's always a bigger croc lurking or there's absolutely no food. It's surprising that they don't have animals like boars, goats, and deers in their diets when they're known to actively hunt these land mammals. Also, bullfrogs need to give more food or have an insane spawn rate because they are absolutely useless at all ages except baby. It's also absolutely insane to me how the swamps (the crocs literal main biome) has so little food. I've lost THREE fg's to starvation at swamps, after spending a good hour swimming up and down the river delta trying to find some sort of food.
Unlocking the saltwater mutation (reticulated kidneys) made me notice how empty the ocean is, there's not even any foliage at all along most coasts, it makes me feel like I got into a glitched spot😂
Now with the migration, because of how inaccessible the hot zones are early on, as well as the random spawn locations; it adds onto the difficulty as well. I believe that connecting every large body of freshwater (except for the small isolated ponds) could make migration that much easier and lower the difficulty quite exponentially.
I'm a deino main at heart, but as of right now it's literally just a waste of time playing solo unless you run into actual friendly crocs (very rare).
One last thing😂 I've been frequently getting the "black box" bug and that makes it so much harder to see underwater at night, it gives a huge advantage to the players that don't have it at the moment.
Had a lot to mention but only because of how much I love deino!
psytacho spawns are quite bugged in general i think, either theres 10 of them or 0, and feels like a coinflip to go watch some spawn, some times a waste of time
Something seriously needs to be done about the state of tacos. As of 0.19.167 they have food spawning all over the place, which i can imagine isnt great for server performance, but A. The actual tacos are often nowhere near it and B. The food that they drop all over the place can't be interacted with in the slightest, which can be very frustrating as a carnivore looking for something to hold you over.
On a semi-related note, though, I do really like the recent change that tacos will sometimes spawn with a dead troodon in their mouth. That's a really neat touch
please increase the fish spawn rate and fix flying fish, its impossible to survive as a deino
Clams as a universal forage option for carnivores and mnivores would help out with the fish shortage quite a bit.
Should the shark-looking Silver Elite Fish be able to eat 100% grown Beipi? Happened to me on EU12 and did not seem right at all. Adult Beipi can bleed a lot of things but one look from a fish and it has to vacate the water??
Horde Test Feedback
Many small AIs simply lie dead on the ground, unable to be interacted with.
You can still smell them, though.
This is especially common on the new landmass near South Plains.
barry could be coming soon.
Add more elite fish etc ai across all water bodies as it's a fish eating dino....it would be good to add paddlefish sturgeon, arapaima , etc and lots of large fish all over the map even in isolated lakes and ponds in schools also you could add ducks or other semi aquatic ai maybe even ai hippopotamus near rivers
i only find deer boar Crossing water or jumping in water at particular points. it should be random areas in rivers and in more frequency
.... it would help deino too
This has been brought up before but it absolutely needs to be repeated, the swamp having next to no ai spawning in it is insane. Swamps are some of the most biodiverse places on earth, so having basically nothing there and giving most animals zero incentive to go there is a huge missed opportunity. (Also that section of the swamp with the floating rocks and grass needs to be fixed too while you're at it)
I have seen many suggestions about adding additional AI on the coasts. Seagulls might be an easy one to implement, just make the chicken a bit skinnier and give it a different skin and some new sounds... BAM, seagull.
make it easier for carnos to see the ai footsteps bc it forested areas it can be hard to see the ai and you just run around till u run into one and the footsteps would make you feel like your hunting them and could then make it so ai can move further around the map and migrate instead of running around one area until they die
there are a lot of issues with Ai:
it spawns a group and together (it should be scattered)
It's not evenly distributed around the map.... mainly spawns at hotspots which ok but ai should be distributed evenly all around the map
it sometimes stays silent and does not call at all.
it takes no fall damage and also starts running from 18 m away
sometimes it glitches out and no ai spawns for 10 minutes
ai should be scattered and be random and increased around the map
some ai are invincible and take no bitedmg at all.
hotspots can or rivers can have greater concentration around them.
I encounters invisible and intangible Dactyls on a corpse in the Horde Test. Lots of noise and blood splats, but they didn’t do any damage to me and I couldn’t kill them (I was herbivore so I couldn’t test biting them).
Please nerf the baby boars(AI). there is little to no reason a baby dinosaur should walk up to a baby boar, bite its butt and then immediately die because they moved at the speed of light and turned to bite me
Also deino needs more ai or the water ways need to be changed. The reason why deino can’t hunt anything is because there is zero reason to cross water ways so people don’t. The map is way too big and there’s so little water that people never ever have to cross it if they don’t want to
Please add boar back on troos diet. They fun to hunt.
There are no turtles or crabs in Hordtest. I've searched all the beaches and talked to people, but no trace.
Work out the spawn of fish bots at deinosuchus. Now she's spawning in a strange way, that is, there is no
I now you have in plan to make ai dinos, but i was thinking that be great to make herd with them if you play as herbi dino, and why not make babies with them so players can directly spawn with a herd. That incrase the number of herbivore on the map, make more sense to hunt and more Life on the island
Please let the Pteranodon dig for crabs and frogs like Beipiaosaurus and Gallimimus.
put ai in delta, I was there for 30 minutes and literally nothing spawned even with it being both migration and patrol zone, ended up starving
Gives all carnivores the ability to hunt schooling fish in the water.
Would help fresh juvis and small species.
More feeding options for juvis at the risk of being eaten by deinos.
Add black and brown bears when allo and rex get introduced to balance the new food requirements
They should live in forests and open grasslands and maybe brown bears could even try fishing like irl
They shouldn't be on any small or medium size predators diets cuz otherwise omnis ceras carnos etc could just subsist off AI (even though they already do anyway), it'd be nice for them to be a decent threat to babies or juveniles aswell like boars are currently but they'd be much faster than boars which might make it too much to handle
But I think it's a cool idea in concept for more AI food options
add the patrol zone in all corners of the map to generate food for both carnivores and herbivores, because in most places there is no food at all
Small AI should avoid certain terrain types for player convenience. Frogs, crabs and (eventually) insects should steer themselves away from tall grass pastures and thick jungles. The creatures that will need to prey on them can't actually see them very well, especially on the hordetest, because their camera heights are so low. This isn't usually a problem because everything that they have to hunt or run from is tall enough to spot high above the grass.
I think AI is getting worse rather than better.
We used to have dryo AI that worked well.
Compys worked and were gone for months, and now that they're back, they're don't wörk.
Wild boars can kill you from any direction without moving.
Fish don't know the difference between land, water, and sky and "swim" everywhere.
We're supposed to get AI dinos, but we haven't seen anything since Spiro.
AI spawns are unreliable or undetectable for players.
Players go to a place where they think they'll find food, but they don't find anything.
hungry? starve is the answer for almost everything when no players are near
should i say more because this is stupid as can be people cant even play the game i mean sure if it was 250 player servers yah no ai wouldnt be needed or like bigger servers ai spawn can be low but these officials only have 100 and im starving because not one thing will spawn and i cant even find people
With Rex coming soon and Allo in the works we need the small rodents and lizard AI added to the game. This will keep all smaller juvenile predators from starving because 3 large tiers came through and swallowed every boar, goat, and deer in the area.
More ai spawns for food would be nice
I think AI vision/hearing should be tweaked, or the behavior in general. Being stealty on AI is tricky because most of the time they are running aimlessly so you have option A (Run to them) or B (Be sneaky and lost 50% of the AI because they were running away before seeing you)
let the AI spawn as all dinos or let it be a server setting so smaller servers can have more life on them.
so let them spawn as raptors or any the others we can play, can give them a unique color only AI's get or a sort of glow using sense to tell them apart from players.
Add pin animation and mechanic for omniraptor and troodon to elite fish, since they are now commonly seen on or hovering above land
Add small AIs to the game soon 🙏
More AI in some way, form, or fashion. Had to log because there wasn't a SINGLE fish from the south of DELTA all the way to WATER ACCESS. That is unreal and should never be a thing. I realize the option to be AI dependent is probably something y'all are trying to stay away from and that is understandable, but when I can travel through the majority of your river systems and not see a single fish, schooling or elite, now that's just ridiculous.
Fish AI Arowana (Swamp , Lakes , Rivers)
Fish AI Arapaima (Swamp, Lakes , Rivers)
Fish AI Onchopristis (Ocean, River)
Fish AI Dipnorhynchus (Ocean)
AI Horseshoe Crab (Beach, Coastal)
AI Ammonite (Ocean)
Fish ai spawn in River delta?? Maybe?
where are the fishes???
- You should be able to sneak up on AI's. Instead they detect you like a state of the art radar within 0.1 second.
-They should have individual turn speeds that fit them. (a deer should really take share turns, but not the boar)
-They should really stop running in a straight line and actually have some appropriate behavior.
-Boars should be aggressive instead of passive if there are offsprings close
The current move set of AIs bring an insult to Artificial Intelligence as we know today xD
spawning in the swamps as a herra shouldn't be a death sentence unless I leave the biome entirely to find food. No fish, no deer, no boar. That shouldn't be a thing.
Just add fish spawns in swamp and in the ocean bay areas that way more of those places are habitable.
East swamp desperately needs increased fish spawn too, no one ever goes near it really anymore since the player spawn location changes
nerf boars attack speed
give the ai simple stamina or something so they can't just run forever
Also give ai fall dmg and let em bleed out
Something has to be done about swamps.
It cant be that i starve as a baby deino. I find one spawn of schooling fish in about 2 hours and a half of gameplay. I end up starving at 250kg. How is this even possible?
More life in swamps.
Need more Aquatic resources, Zero Salt water resources found. Extremely low fish population in the larger water mases.
Just died as an almost full grown deino because I went to swamp and didn’t see a single fish. Only two baby deinos that had already died.
Hello development team,
Would it be possible to adjust the schooling fish so that they contribute at least 1-3%?
Life as a crocodile is difficult enough, and the AI problem doesn't make it any easier.
add textures to ai to show how injured it is. doesn't need bone to be showing or anything but knowing how close ai is to dying would be appreciated.
Return and Add Big dino food AI (like ava or etc.) :
On the light of big carni apexes added to the game.
it will be tough for big land carni dinos to keep up diet much tougher than deino which already feels like a starving simulator....plus gameplay will depend on player count fully it is tough to even grow prey dinos needed for diet of the big carni apexes .
this gameplay based on player count is the worst thing in this game as your diet completely depends on player count and also number of player growing or present big prey dino suitable for diet.
FG deino gameplay is nearly impossible when player count is low or even if the player count is high you have consumed and cannibalized multiple grown deino as they take a long time to grow unless you are in sp or are very lucky that a 1 ton plus dino is drinking which is rare and is becoming more rare as players learn to play this game.
Gamers should not be forced to log out due to player count or depreciation of fg prey dinos ....this is very bad and wrong
That’s what I keep having to do for my FG deino at east swamp, log on for a bit, try to gather as much deer/boar as I can find…but eventually I have to log off again or I’ll starve as the fish no longer spawn for me
Bring back teno AI but this time he would defend himself but not like a normal player
Even the biggest desert in the world feels more alive than the swamps in the isle. Such a disappointment.
More small to medium ai should be added and ai spawns should be fixed like fish and deer so juvi carnivores don’t starve
All I ask is for increased fish spawns in the swamp. Good day.
Add more ai for crocs, like some fish with protein, dots, and make some fish bigger for the bigger deinos
Psittaco spawn Near or Inside sanctuaries (Except Southplains Sanctuary)
Would be cool to add some ai great white sharks all over the ocean around the map. That will make a big change.
Literally no fish in the server, I tried 4 servers which are full, and tried to play official/unofficial, and there is no avg fish, elite, spawning in the north lake and swimming for the WHOLE MAP, all places where u can see water, and only 1 time per day I saw avg group of fish
more stuff for crocs. literally die at 100%
CLAMS as something all carnivores can forage for. It would be a favorite food for Beipi and Austro, and although a big Deino or Rex could never fill its belly on clams, it’d at least keep them from starving so they can find REAL food to hunt.
Hey i think the Ai Boar needs a re work Currently as a carnivore the Ai boar basically cant be killed as a Juvi as it locks on and attacks continuously there are no openings for a New Juvi carnivore to exploit currently as soon as u are in range to attack it u are also been hit and u lose vs the boar there should be a way to defeat it. A possible fix for this would be to give the Ai Boar some sort of straight line charge attack that momentarily stun locks itself for say 1.5 secs this will help teach a new player how to dodge this charge attack as after a few charges most players will notice it stays still after charging forward. the other much easier fix would be delay the boars initiating damage to 2 secs after been in range to attack so a juvi can utilize hit and run tactics
Beehives in sanctuary should be able to be eaten from as troo up to 15-20% growth. Dinos of that size should benefit from eating insects, until they're too large for hives to make a difference in stomach %.
As of rn, there aren't enough reliable sources of food that you can go for besides to scavenge from other player's kills.
change fish spawns to be random aswell as nearby to players swimming so that ptera doesnt have to find a deino or something to find food, right now you have to swim around to spawn them for some reason and so you barely find fish as the creature, its not as bad on servers with high players, but that means the dino is only really viable on community servers wich is lame asf
The fish ai being tied to player density when deino is supposed to be a solitary playable has made the deino lifestyle less about controlling an area and more about long migrations to busy areas just so you can beg for food
just disscorvered a immortal pig
