Strange how Norton lets me play every other game i without issue. But sure yeah. Norton is the problem. 😕 Ill actually uninstall it just to see if this works. But having the uninstall your antivirus isn't really a fix. Its clearly the game that is the problem

Huh. It actually worked. I'm still a bit annoyed that in order get my game working i had to completely uninstall my antivirus. Its a bit of an issue to be brutally honest. But yeah it worked thanks. Bit of a weird suggestion, try running the TheIsle.exe in Windows 8 compatibility mode

From some brief searching it looks like that error crops up on i9 CPUs, and Win8 compatibility and running as an admin can be potential fixes

Worst case scenario, it may be caused by the physical chip degredation that was plaguing those CPUs

i just ran it from steam after doing the compatibility mode and it gave me the error again once i loaded into the server and got the the dinosaur selection. I ran it as administrator from the filrs and it gave me a launch error

Alright that's a fairly common EasyAntiCheat error, my recommendation is to delete the EasyAntiCheat folder located in the steam installation then verify the game files again

But, i don't ever recall my camera having a 180 degree limit in either direction

Maybe my situation is more on the games optimization part but when I am playing evrima I notice my GPU usage is only running around 70%.
My current settings are mostly High to epic with DLSS on Quality. I have my resolution set to native (1440p). I have a fps Cap at 120 though I can run 144fps but it is unstable.
I also have V-Sync turned on in Nvidia Control panel since it makes the game smoother.
I don’t know if this helps but I am currently running a 5070 ti paired with a i9-12900k. Which should definitely be capable of playing evrima with high fps.

Should I increase my general setting or just go back to 144fps capped or uncapped?

FYI, any game's FPS is unstable, moving through a map will cause optimizations to have to deal with more or less objects, etc, more or less FPS

V sync is only required with Monitors without Free or G sync capabilities, like mine.

Lumen will murder your FPS

Textures is something you should never touch, as it makes the game look worse very quickly, for next to no gain in FPS.

Effects and the like are to be touched

Also don't touch Resolution, unless you want a blurry mess

i have no idea why you are trying to use DLSS on a game that doesn't need it, with specs that don't need it

DLSS 4.0 and FSR 4.0's only real benefit are TAA blur removal and some FPS/latency upgrade, earlier upscaling techs were mostly pathetic.

I have V-Sync on because it takes away Screen tearing. I have a 180hz Gsync compatible monitor but since it’s only compatible 120 fps doesint actually reach the G sync Compatible "Range" 180hz to roughly 144hz.
I use DLSS to lessen gpu usage ( yes Ik that sounds completely counter intuitive since I’m asking how to increase usage) but it makes my game, in my experience, smoother.

I will increase my fps to 144 and try with V sync on or off depending on the drops

I even have Lumen on and that doesint effect my fps at all

Yes, it can handle 180 fps and still have gsync because it’s in that range. If I set a cap at let’s say 60 fps G sync doesint actually reach that since it’s only a compatible monitor. A True G sync module Monitor Can go from its max hz like 240hz all the way down to 30hz or fps.

If my game goes past 180 fps it wouldn’t be using g sync because it’s sending more frames than the monitor can actually use - leading to screen tearing

If you want full g sync range you want a monitor with a g sync module. That has a bigger range. But those typically cost $500 and up

Just set my fps cap to 144 and my gpu is still only using 74% usage

Finally hitting 92% with 180 frame cap and v sync off

I use to get it when l let the F2 game recording on all the way until I logged, now I just turn it off just before I log out and it's good, that's just my issue, yours would be different... Start by deleting the Config folder, deleting Steam cache, and updating your GPU Driver and Windows

It started with me not finding servers and now the game doesnt even start anymore or I get another random error lmao

I've gotten this before but then it always fixed itself after a few minutes because the servers probably just had some issues but now it seems to be fine for everyone except a few cursed ones like us

By the way, for everyone with cracking sound issues, especially next to waterfalls, during rain and walking through bushes, the solution for that is setting your fps to a constant limit, so if your fps are always above 30 set 30, if it is always above 60 do 60fps
