is it normal for evrima to run so poorly compated to legacy? on legacy i can play max settings with 120fps stable and locked, but on evrima, audio is constantly cutting out, bad frame drops, and usually sitting around 30 fps on lowest settings

Evrima is on a new engine and is much more graphically intensive yea, though much of the issue may be due to not clearing the files in Appdata between swapping

Given that swapping branches also swaps game engines and... well just about everything, it's recommended yea

1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Press the Windows key
3. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
4. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
5. Open the "Saved" folder.
6. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.
7. Restart the game. The issues should be fixed.

and in terms of settings, I tried a couple different, at first I just had default but fps was awful, so I tried the lowest and it was just as bad

Updated driver's I'm guessing? Also do you know if Nvidia is applying its "optimizations" through the app? That can make things screwy on occasion

I'd also try running on all medium, and either leave DLSS off and set 3d resolution to 45-50 or try different DLSS options

For those with that "Easy Anti-Cheat is not installed" issue, there are some steps you can do to solve it

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Isle"

there is a file called InstallAntiCheat.bat, just run it and try running the game again.

Go to the game folder. Right click game in steam, properties, local files, browse.
Should send you here: steamapps\common\The Isle

Delete EasyAntiCheat folder.
Then Verify intergrity of game files.

After this the game should download an insignificant small amount of files.
Run the game, now it installs EasyAntiCheat for you.

• Right Click The Isle [Evrima] in steam.
• Properties
• Local Files
• Browse
• Open EasyAntiCheat Folder
• Double click EasyAntiChaet_EOS_Setup. Most likely nothing will happen.
• Return to Properties / Local Files

  For anyone else with this issue, go to the game directory

Hello been having issues even launching evrima. Everything starts fine but when the Unreal Engine logo pops up, it freezes before the logo goes away. I have read that there was once a file that needed to be downloaded in this discord (Vcruntime) but I havent been able to locate said file. I have tried deleting the config file troubleshoot. Did not help. Even tried the Easy anti cheat solution from above but didn't do anything to fix the issue either. I have verified intergrity of game files. I have reinstalled the game. Im at a loss. Hey, I haven't been able to get my game to launch. It either freezes on the Unreal logo or the blue screen next to it. Windows is updated, Nvidia is updated. but do keep in mind some games can show specific hardware issues

a lot of modules are active even if you disable them

plus the game files are already blocked

what you can do is add the entire isle folder as an exception

or simply uninstall the antivirus

Connection issues can be caused by automated bans however they are only issued when EAC catches you (or someone else using your steam or hardware) using hacks

This is caused by your third app antivirus (Norton, avast, avg, etc)

you can:

• uninstall your antivirus completely
  or
• disable it before launching the game (might not work)
  or
• create an exception in your antivirus for the entire isle folder

I've been trying to fix this all morning. For me it turned out to be something weird with audio. I had installed voicemeeter last night and windows had defaulted to the wrong audio out. After I pointed it to voicemeeter correctly the game booted. It makes no sense to me because the game should have just started with no audio out.

I'd try changing the default audio out in windows first. Then try closing every possible external program you have running, strip windows back to the bare bones and if that works slowly start adding stuff back in.

Since the game finally gave me a crash report, upon logging off a server, it almost always will crash with a fatal error, doesn't always give me a crash report so I am taking the opportunity. I am using Win11 with Windows Defender, game is on a separate drive that is not the windows drive (since that one has issues with writing on folders). I only recently re-installed the game and have verified files, installation is so recent I have not gone through any updates.

updating BIOS can be dangerous, i highly advice you to do it AFTER you learn from a good video and make sure you dont have power outages

Hello everyone, Im new on The Island. Im facing a issue when I start the game, it get stuck when loading the game and doesn't go further. If I lunch the Legacy version it works, however there is no Server. When I change to Evrima, the game doesn't start at all, staying stuck either on Unreal first part or right after it.

You are right. I had to completely remove Norton, and install again the game, then allow via Bitdefender firewall. Now is working just fine 😉

For me it worked only after completely uninstalling Norton. I'm not sure with the others AV, but Norton don't allow you to add folder, only application.

you can:

• uninstall your antivirus completely

• disable it before launching the game (might not work)
  or
• create an exception in your antivirus for the entire isle folder

Stuck on black screen with the loading dots in the bottom right has two known causes.
Cause #1 is Missing a Windows Media Feature pack, which is used to play the opening sequence (errors about missing dll's in the log)
