However, an immediate hurdle appeared: the "DirectX 12 not supported" error. Despite her computer having an RTX 3060, a component that undoubtedly supports DirectX 12, the issue persisted. My initial efforts, as a tech-savvy individual, included running the game on DirectX 11 and updating drivers, yet none seemed fruitful. The sole recourse became a complete reinstallation of Windows.

After carrying out the task, an inherent challenge with the game was revealed. The operation of the game appears to be heavily contingent on a separate game previously installing Easy Anti-Cheat. When we initiated a fresh installation of Windows, followed by Steam, and then the Isle Evrima, the game declared that Easy Anti-Cheat wasn't present. Considering this was a newly installed operating system, the error struck us as peculiar.

We attempted to resolve this by following existing online guides, but to no avail. On examining the 'installanticheat.bat' file, it was discernible that a certain file in the Anti-Cheat folder was missing, which was the one being referenced by the '.bat' file. An attempt to source the required file from Easy Anti-Cheat's website didn't yield any solutions. It was only after locating the necessary Easy Anti-Cheat installer file in my copy of 7 Days to Die, dropping it into the folder that was being referenced by the original '.bat' file, and executing the '.bat' file, did we manage to successfully launch the game and rectify the issue.

This experience raises a key question - should a game's functionality be this dependent on another game's prior installation of a specific software like Easy Anti-Cheat? Ideally, this should be a standalone feature, suggesting a potential area for improvement. It is conceivable that this might be an oversight, an unanticipated outcome, possibly resulting from insufficient testing.

The directx12 issue is an extremly easy fix that we have pinned in here. But EAC one was not experienced during the ST sessions, it is a new issue that the devs are aware of and will resolve.

A new way to solve the problem with dx12 has been found. Especially for those who have a pirated version of Windows. If your version is lower than 2020, then dx12 will not work. To find out your version, press win+R and write winver in the window that opens. Next, a window will open in which the version of your Windows will be written. If your version is lower than the required one, upgrade to the latest version! (This can be done via Update Assistant or Media Creation Tool)

To be honest, I never did find an actual fix. I ran into a lot of issues trying to troubleshoot it. Windows update kept erroring and I even had to reinstall G-Force experience to update the drivers (which didn't fix the bug by the way)

This was the reason why I had to reinstall Windows from scratch just to be able to get past that

Upon some further research it appears that your system uses the Intel HD 4400 which doesn't innately support DirectX 12. It natively supports DirectX 11.1 and I only has software support for some features of DirectX 12 meaning your computer is actually too old to play the new version of the Isle

For you... I would say you need to buy a video card. The cheapest video card that I can think of that doesn't require external power would be the GT 1030 I do believe it supports DirectX 12, although the game's current graphic requirements may be a little much for anything entry level.

Your current GPU is an integrated unit from 2012 which never got proper support for DirectX 12. (Oddly enough Linux has a DirectX 12 driver for the HD 4400) but Windows never got support for it.

That card definitely supports DirectX 12. I never did find a solution to how to fix that aside from reinstalling Windows (which I don't recommend unless you're desperate) but at least you have the reassurance that your card does support the graphics API

This is a hard question to answer. There can be a number of reasons why it would crash when trying to join a server. One reason could be your computer not being powerful enough to handle the game and it overloading the computer. But that may not be the issue either. Does it provide any error message?

Saw a redit user installed VR chat to get easy anticheat installed, ran the game and that fixed the problem. This fixed the problem on our end as well. (Did devs forget to update subscription to easyanticheat?) Well i got past the easyanticheat not installed problem and now the game crashes after launch screen with the above error. Any help would be greatly appreciated outside of verifying files. I think that button is worn out at this point.

For anyone encountering fatal errors leading to crashes You will have to manually uninstall “The Isle” from Steam. This issue is typically caused when someone switches from the Legacy to the EVRIMA branch.
Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle
Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.
Then

• Press Windows key.

• Type "Run" to launch Run program.

• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.

• Search for TheIsle folder.

• Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located.

It has also been known to be caused by strict permissions with a Windows User Account and/or strict Anti-Virus settings

Please reduce what Windows and/or Anti-virus will block as far as programs go. You may need to create a new Windows User account to bypass the issue.

-If the above fails, make sure your GPU/GFX Drivers are updated. If you already updated them, uninstall them and reinstall them if the issue persists.

I've went through all the fixes for the easy anticheat not working in the pins around 5 times now and nothing.

Hello, I´m having issues: Every time I try to connect to a server with avaiable slots ( like 90/100 players ) it will say "Connecting" for a long time, and then eventually fail to connect, stating the server is full, but when I go into the server list again and look at the same server, only one or two might´ve joined the server, but there´s clearly still room. To be fair, it's stated in the Steam requirements that integrated graphics will not run the game. Besides, depending on where you live, 600-700 bucks could get you a nice little PC. Yep, the game now runs on a new engine and that requires to have a fairly modern dedicated graphics card. You need to have a desktop to be able to put a graphics card inside though, it won't work with a laptop. If you actually consider to buy a graphics card, I recommend AMD, they're cheaper than Nvidia for better performance. Make sure to do researches before settling on a card. What card you should buy depends heavily on your other hardware. I.e., don't buy a RTX 4090 if you have a ten-year-old CPU and a 400W PSU.

I have a question and an issue.
Question: What happened to all the DLSS options? There is only one option now and it's just called DLSS, which DLSS quality even is this option?

Issue: I can run the game fine at around 60fps with everything cranked up, but as soon as I enable DLSS my FPS drops to the mid 20's. Turning DLSS back off doesn't fix the issue. The only issue I have found is deleting the config file and a restart.

I also don't see any visual difference between any of the FSR options, they make my FPS drop to the mid 20's as well and the image looks just as sharp regardless of the FSR option chosen.

What to do if at startup it says that anti-cheat is not installed? reinstalling the game and anti-cheat did not help at startup trying to download CC +, turning off the antivirus did not help either

Install VRChat (free game on Steam that uses EAC), run it, exit it, then launch The Isle.

Make sure your graphics drivers and Windows are up-to-date. You want to update your graphics drivers through your GPU's software (Geforce Experience for Nvidia cards, AMD Adrenaline for AMD cards) to make sure you do download and install the latest drivers available. You can check your graphics driver version by right-clicking on the task bar > Task manager > More details > Performance > GPU. If you have two GPU, it's GPU 1 you have to look at. Scroll a bit and below it'll be written the driver version and date. If the date is a couple of months or years old, they're not up-to-date.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Sorry, but TI has always been advertised as not being able to run on integrated graphics, it was expected that it would cause issues one day.

You can have it on your system but not have the hardware to run it, so that doesn't mean anything. Sorry. You'd need a dedicated graphics card.
