Likely the first, he has a romantic heart you see, so without anyone to care about he kind of just lazes about in a sleepy state.

Believe it or not, the front hands on him were a nightmare to draw, I tried to make him scientifically accurate but I also wanted him to give the feeling of power that The Isle's Spino gave. So a lot of effort went into making the hands seem like both a walking tool and a weapon.

After waking up and reading all the shinanigans above, yeah I used Mr. Jack's amazing Kapro as a ref never said I didn't and I did say I did so but as stated above the leg shape is what I used it for. Nothing is the same. Can't help that when I use refs I'm EXTREMELY good at getting shapes right. When I do so it's one and done then I have the animal's biological shape locked down, kinda what refs are used for, practice to then move onto your own.

If your aiming for the realistic look, try work on real life animal proportions. To get the body structure more smoothly and not so blocky. Animals reference always help on the making of drawing dinosaurs. Try to use different type of animals to see different ways on how to work on each body type and how you can even combine them when it’s time to draw a Dino using its own skeleton.

Also, don’t just go crazy on drawing things on your own. Sometimes is good to do so bc your testing but time to time for future drawings like this. Try this on your personal time and for you only. Trace over animals body to get a memory muscle. So your mind and hands kinda remembers the shapes.

If it’s like too much, you can always simplify everything by just doing any type of shape you feel comfortable with to the body. Circle, squares and even triangle. You just break the body into different shapes so it’s easier to visualize the body structure.

Every method I have said works but depends of how you work on your drawings and what you think it’s necessary to apply in this type of things. Proportions is kinda tricky (for me a least) so depending if you want to have some sort of realistic drawing but with a personal touch, then you don’t need to be so strict on giving this beauty a good proportion.

Note, some animals are blocky too so 💀 yeah, for me anky looks like a Minecraft pineapple sometimes. Bruh I need my sleep

This Ankylosaurus is part of a series I call The Isle: Revised, which is a series that aims to fix some of EVRIMA’s dinosaur concepts that have received negative feedback. The only exceptions to this are dinosaurs that previously had concepts that went unused that are considered better (Models, concept art, etc. Though I may make a few exceptions to that.)

They were sort of like giant hawks/caracaras in regards to ecology (as they were active ground carnivores)

The angle of the right foot is strange, the left as well, but not as much. Take the right foot more to the right of the animal, so maybe half of it is covered by the left leg, and rotate it so instead of seeing the top of the toes, you see the side of the toes and maybe a hint of the bottom of them.
