here's something you can do, see how the sickle claw is a lot more up? in the place of a dewclaw?

you could use that as the dewclaw and make the current dewclaw into a normal toe

keeping the sickle claw as a sickle claw too, to make it more unique

I was talking with a bud about potentially doing earlier stages of life for it in the future, and i was wondering if the outer toe would slowly disappear as it gets bigger

Idk if something like that can happen but i figured it would be interesting to see one or more traits disappear while others start to form

Feel free to call bs, i thought it was an interesting idea at the time and just ran with it

Btw another trait i had in mind for the creatures earlier stages was where its jaws are like that of a snakes, but over time the lower jaw would close up and become solid

That's amazing for a year! I've been needle felting for around 2 months now and I was wondering if you have any tips or advice if you dont mind me asking?

hmm i would say keep things loose in the beginning, make anything to firm and it’s really hard to add things that look seamless. i use wire bases a lot just to help me get the shapes down, wrapping the wire with pipe cleaners helps your wool stick to them as well

don’t be scared to cut parts off and start over sometimes too, this helps when things are loose in the beginning as well

get pet brushes and card your wool, it helps for a more uniform look and it’s AMAZING for mixing colors

then just a lot of practice and poking and poking and poking

Most artists use procreate, a free app that gives you literally every tool you need to draw. I love it so much. They might not have used it, but it’s in my opinion the best drawing software for phones/tablets. I’m also interested in what they used

@radiant finch Look up dinosaur anatomy reconstructions /biomechanic and simplify what you see in your drawings! Only keep key elements like muscle shapes. Its hard at first but eventually you will get the hang of it ^^

Another good practice is to take skeletons and break them down into their core shapes, getting a good habit of that makes posing them much easier.

krita it pretty good it's very similar to Photoshop but geard toward art. you can even make your own brushes and stamps or download ones that were made for it too! (krita is also free)

I watched a couple YouTube videos of artists doing the same drawing in Photoshop vs krita and the results are nearly identical

Thank you. And thank you for agreeing with me, guys. The reason behind its posture was I took reference from Jacob Baardse’s Isle Rex model and wanted to experiment with back shots and perspective. I made that piece of art specifically to show the community to push a point about the new Albertosaurus model having a Legacy color palette but apparently we can’t have nice things.

I can see why things such as the diaper carnos would be subject to debate since that concern is legitimate, and though whether it was fetish art is the owner’s choice, it still raises concerns, and, y’know, dinosaurs don’t wear diapers. My Albertosaurus on the other hand did not suggest anything at all.

I’m trying to see how is was, since Gar said multiple complaints, seen sexual by many. The only thing I can come up with is the fact the Alberto could’ve been seen as if it was looking back at the viewer. Now this is a stretch because imo the Alberto wasn’t giving a suggestive expression. Maybe it would have been different if the Alberto was looking away from the camera. The closest example I could find of a similar pose right now is this one done by tapwing. The Utah being there also helps suggestion what’s happening in the picture.

I saw the artwork and honestly, people who had an issue with their alberto are too immature to even be looking in the art channel. It was a realistic animal in a common pose for tyrannosaurids. If someone in here can look at that, see an animal in a realistic and common pose with the slightest hint of having a cloaca and think "that's sexually suggestive" then I pity them when national geographic comes on.

if you want to color it but don't want to go outside the lines, use a transparent layer and color it in with a solid color. Then lock the transparency on that layer. You'll then only be able to color on the parts you colored in and won't need to worry about going outside the lines! the transparency lock is a little checker grid usually on the layer options. it'll have a little lock appear on it when you click it. this is a example of how it looks in gimp. it's similar in other programs

Let me be clear, then. This instance was decided by multiple Senior Administrators and other admins and mods. Senior Admins are above Admins in rank, so my saying something that may trump what other Admins/Mods have said in the past is the ruling on it until otherwise updated by group decision on our part as the moderation team or Punch decides something. Your point about inconsistency is moot. I’m much less inclined to let things like edited screenshots/photos stay after there were those that saw it fit to try and wriggle around rules with such things.

Just to clarify, even though it should be incredibly obvious. Making an image "fuzzy" is not really an edit, nor is it fan-art. It's just one of our images made somewhat blurry.
