how he teleport like that
get isle'd
the isle
holy fuck wtf is pounce rn
its op asf
i ran the rat into a tree and it didnt get off
and a rock, what am i doing wrong, its phases through stuff lmao
It's definitely making me miss wallowing on mud banks.
nonono watch this shit
i didnt buck cuz i wanted to see if it was fixed
didnt get the rock clip
i think the point is to encourage bucking
yikes
i mean, it was kinda silly how easy it was to dispose of raptors
bucking was essentially a forgotten feature
You cant knock Utah's off on rocks anymore?
That-
Pounce has become 1000x better now
I'm worried that without mud at riverbanks we might actually bleed out
yeah its so broken lol
i got to check if bushes work
tho i was in the jungle with the rat on me for quite some time
Did they fix the water bug too?
If so Utah is actually good
yea the fixed the water thing
Damn
Now you actually need to buck
Utah is actually good
That's scary cause of the lack of mud
bro wtf is pounce maaaan...
i couldnt even buck..
wave we need ur help, u have the voice
its depressing 😦
that utah looks comically big on that carno
yes
idk whats going on with that buck tho, seems it refuses to loop for you
it doesn't anymore
unless its changed
utahs just do not care
and honestly, no clue if its intended or not
bucking or using mates to scrape the little fuckers off
trees should still be a thing tho
some dude wrote a fucking list of how to get rid of them
idk, tree scraping kinda made utah a joke imho
i think running at max speed at a tree to scrape it off seems reasonable
yea but i also think because of trees, literally no one ever uses buck
Give it a week or two at least, and we'll see. Let people get used to the new changes and all. If utah ends up being too good again, it should be noticable with a lack of other playables and mass amount of utahs everwhere, like carno earlier.
i honestly don't think utah will be that good. The thing is still squishy as all hell
still tho i dont see why running max speed at trees doesnt knock em
^
carno max speed is during its charge no?
technically
Max speed for the animal in question would work? More so, if you're at a run, it works, while trot or walk or just "rub" does not.
dude i face tanked 3 stego tail swips as carno
Anyway, not even sure they can implement that right now, no idea if they can change pounce interactions depending on speed of the pounced critter :p
I do think the pounce change with the terrain was unneccesary, since it already did not knock them down but "only" staggered them, if even that (not actually sure, I've seen some weird stuff, but then servers do as they will so could be that). But again, we'll see in a week or two how well this goes. No doubt it'll be unbalanced in some manner, it's the Isle after all ^^
this patch is
teno somehow hits me through other teno
The isle
bro this game rn lmaooo
are people using vpn or sum?
i have plenty more clips within a day of this patch
can't ignore it anymore
this game is broken on a fundamental level
doubt the "recode" really recoded the entire game
and it was just a case of them salvaging whatever old legacy code they could.
Why would they want to salvage blueprints
L update
Idk if you played the mechanic test branch before the update went live, but that was an issue then too.
They just do not care to fix anything in a game where your hours are at stake lol
yeah just posting them cuz y not
welp I updated the game with its over 7GB and it was all for nothing., still cant get into the Menu screen.

at this point I dont know what to do anymore.
anyone else still getting bugged and stuck as ptera? fall from something and cant fly bug/ pickup a piece of meat and all controls are frozen
Feels good ya know
Feedback channel is back from update takes too long or game bad
It’s now its previous mildly good ideas and bug reporting for lazy people
There's been a bug for a while where takeoff glitches and you are prevented from taking off that can be corrected by swimming, not sure if it's the same bug
im not sure what the hubub is about ive had really good hitreg and servers are really stable now it seems
havent seen any kind of desync described and shown here
it can also be fixed by falling from any height
I feel as though removing large bush clusters for nocturnals will change the meta to “log off at night” again
Eh, not much you can do about that. Rather make room in the server for people who actually want to play at night instead of just having everyone hide and do nothing
you were right. I found it 🙂 But I'm still thinking the location I originally screenshotted is missing something similar.
@dapper mirage Jace is actually working on a complete overhaul of the map iirc.
i mean i like the aspect of not knowing where the fuck youre going half the time as long as its consistent for everybody, update 2s map was like a maze even for people for with 2000000 hours unless they were at or following a landmark to a hotspot, which made it actually fun to explore and play in, because it wasnt like winning the lottery to find someone exploring the same part of jungle as you
either way its obvious this new map is pretty not great and needs a rework
The introduction of deino ruined the map. They had to get rid of a lot of nice areas to make room for a shit ton of rivers
deino wouldve been fine in update 2s map
rivers to traverse in, 2 swamps and several smaller ponds, and areas they need to go on land to reach, making them not borderline invincible
"NOOOO1@11!!1 I NEED THR MAP TO BE 90% RIVER SO I CA. ONE SHOT EVERYTHING EASIER!!!!"
meanwhile deino players being murked by stegos still even though the map is made up of 99% water
the map is barely made up of any water is the issue imho. There are entire sectors of completely barren waterless hellholes
its why everyone is pressured to certain map areas
I just loathe the fact that you can lose hours of work because haha funni deino press right click
it was an exaggeration, but there are a LOT of rivers, and map still bad
well not separate rivers but they stretch incredibly far, and only having one watersource available outside of the rivers is a little cringe
there's actually 3 but one is a puddle and one is
the hidden pond
thats the deino problem, everyone whines if there are shallow spots to go and drink at, but then if there arent then everyone whines that they keep losing hours of time to people who just floated around watching youtube for 5 hours to grow
i love the hidden pond but first of all, it's completely separate from literally everything and has very little food near it
where tf is the puddle
puddle is on beach
😶
maybe readily available watersource was the right word
because like 2% of players probably drink at those two spots in their entire lifetime
Once baby deinos have a predator you will see like 4 or 5 adults because almost none of deino's playerbase can actually survive if they have any threat
Deino cannibalism doesn't really work cause people just keep forming deino megapacks and taking like 7 babys in at a time
There should be special food or ai at night
To incentivize to keep prowling around even if you're not nocturnal
Isn’t there the same food
so i have a question
will the humans have guns
and how OP would they be
since if they have like snipers its prob gonna ruin the game
i feel like they should only have bows spears stuff like that
punch just said they will be very rudementary so just movement and built upon on down the line, we have no clue what they will get, not even the devs arent sure yet to what level they want to give them weapons, or so kissen says
there adding them this month
ik
why, this isnt cod, not doom, theres a common thought that humans will get infinite ammo, ap rounds with dragons breath 12 guage full auto aa12 and ac130 calls
this is the most stupid mindset, the desv said they arent doing that, its a survival game not a pvp fps, think tarkov if you are interested in what type of experience it will be as thats one game the devs are taking influence from
i just dont want them to make it like ark
since adding humans
makes a lot of changes
this isnt a sci fi game to that degree, no laser bs etc, also tribals will come much later down the line so that will bring that experience
so if tribal is later what weapons will they have like a spear
if humans cant do anything
when there first made
primitve gear
and humans get modern gear like guns, cars, etc simple modern gear, nothing crazy
so like just a pistol?
Probably a shotgun
i bet when you spawn you get a knife, a flashlight and (my idea) an empty map and the more you scavange, fix a base etc you get better loot and ammo
I wanna fix bases
i wonder how that shot system is gonna work
prob hitscan
I want tents to be on the table so you can make a base anyway
how would a dino get a bullet out of it
Hitscan most likely
ehh, sounds more like a tribal thing but who knows
Probably not that realistic lul it should just do damage
I really dony understand how the devs put a damn huge pond with shallow parts in the middle of the map
I even think someone proposed it and the other guy said without thinking a whole minute yeah do it. it would be fun.
it is so game breaking for deinos
now that land dwellers are in the diet
no one comes to drink, the whole river and lake system needs a huge overhaul
@lavish quail i've said this before so i'll say it again, juvies need to be better thna the adults in one of 3 aspects, burrow, climbing and swimming, so for teno has same swim speed as adult or a bit more and can also submerge to eat underwater plants if we/when we get them, or like utah, it can climb trees when younger but not that good but enough so it can escape, dryo cold be a good burrower when small but the more it grows it looses that ability and becomes a nightime herbi and so on for all dinos that arent apex or lack the benefit of beeing a high tier creature
so either enhanced version of the adult in its gimmick, so better climber for hypsi, better swimmer for teno or a once of the 3 abilities mentioned that the adult lacks
so cera for ex could also be a better swimmer than the adults
yep, and the bigger it gest its looses that to become a burrower
its should be gradual so not just sudden
Komodos do that irl too so that's neat
They've started doing this
By giving juvies godlike stamina
could also go much more indepth, like juvie climbes very well and sub swimms and then adult buurrow (or flip juvie and sub) for mega
we absolutely need dynamic diets
Baby komodos eat eggs and birds
Adults eat large mammals
Another good example
Rex
Young rex should go after dryo and Galli
The small, fast guys
Subs move onto ceratopsians and Ankylosaurus
And adult rexes goes for shants and trikes
Iirc the time period the isle takes place in they dont have shit like ak 47 12 gage shot guns and shit. I see them having stuff like at the most a hunting rifle or musket. And normally having Gear like a hunting knife and maybe a snake gun or something
Damn
They said no big weapons
So there will be no easy way to down a large dino without wasting all your gear and making a shit ton of noise
If cera gets thick skin then it may have the same kinda things bears do where they get shot and dont. Fucking. Care.
Itd be hilarious to watch
cera not in evrima?
oh is it coming
Pfft
in the update with humans?
oh
Soonish tho
It's one of the 3 animals being worked on rn
that just goes into how much health they have, if animals that are only a fraction of a dinos weight can sponge bullets... ye humans... they wont survive the isle
Bullets should only really be used on like
Utahs, pachy's and troodons
They gotta hide from everything else
The 10+ utah pack one calling in celebration after they kill a single merc
even utah, its noticeably heavier than current day animals that dont care so even that would be a menace
that only had a knife
Bears can resist them cause of fat and fur (for the most part)
Which Utah doesn't have
Humans try to get an orange for some food and get kicked to death by a dryo
Yessss
Humans diets should consist of fruits, occasional herbs, and animal ai.
Potato
humans just scavange and maybe eat fruits
Gives me an excuse to smash em with meh teno
Finding fruit to eat as a human will be hard cause they cant smell it
even smth like a tiger can somewhat take a bullet and utah is way more dense ans its way heavier and around the same size
True
plus dinos dont have skin, they have scales or smth like that
It's unlikely that we're getting RPGs in The Isle
Also completely useless
Can't be used for self defence because you'd die in the explosion
Projectile is way slower than a bullet (and I assume less precise too) so the only things you can hit are the ones that can't outrun you
@river tundra those symbols correlate to the three hexagons next to your hunger bar, filling all three gives you negligible bonuses, if the hexagons are all empty you get punished with reduced stat and increased grow time. It is for diets
And I think the yellow star means theres a herd or some shit
yes
@heady quarry it's not a matter of "getting used to it". I can assure you of that. I've played Evrima since it came out in June 2020 and it hardly got better with time. The damage screens are just extremely nebulous and unclear. Especially new players tend to run away after receiving and damage in my experience because they seem to think that they're about to die when in reality they've lost only like 20% of their health.
Yeah I’ve definitely had that issue several times now.. wish we could have more clear damage indication
Idk if it's intentional, but I've made been commenting as to how we need a overhaul of the damage screens back in the days of update 1 and update 2. I have no idea if devs view this as an issue though or if the lack of clarity is intentional.
so uh, anyone else think the scent icons for diet plants should disappear from your menu if the plant is completely used up for the time being?
also, there should be a visual indication that the plant is used up/fully eaten, or it should just disappear from your scent menu altogether until it rejuvenates its food percentage.
when I first started playing pachy I came across like 5 agave plants that showed up on scent bar, but couldn't eat or have access to.
update 4 is honestly kind of fun, other than the performance that they have to make better
yeah ive been enjoying it
do wonder if pachy has to be at some age to headbutt tho, while I was trying I didn’t manage to grow one past 50 due to me dying in plains constantly.
and the right click headbutt didn’t do anything
its a charge up thing, better to use if your running at somethin
Good evening,
I have major performance problems with the game, is this normal? (RTX 3080, R7 3700x, 16gb ram under windows 11)
yep, optimisation isn't the best with the game right now, nothing wrong with your pc
Game is poorly optimized at the moment, it doesn't have to do with you 👍
yeah but like, I just can’t headbutt even if I hold while still, walking or running
Dondi has gone into extreme depth on how utterly underpowered he wants humans to be lmao, very unlikely
please add river side wallow man..
i got bled out nothing i could do
and the stam regen when bleeding is atrocious
AND MAKE BUCK WORKKKK
utah is absolutely busted rn man
cant knock it offf and you cant even fucking buck, i was full stam
Oh how the turns have tabled with utah
seeth
Reintroduce river wallowing
Maybe just make it bit as good as mud pools or smth
Utah scraping was kinda busted for the poor things
But now cause of the lack of mud there's no counterplay
oh ffs its the raptor stan asking for raptor buffs even tho utah is in a powerful spot atm
absolutely is
Even though I'd like more previous update 3 elements
I'm just not a fan of how combat works rn
i've found the new update pretty rewarding in terms of combat
It's ehhhh
The skill ceiling has been lowered
It's mostly dependent on special abilities rather than every ability playing a role in the tool kit consistently
Teno/Stego attacks is the only time where that should be the case
Defensive Heavy counter based dinos
Pachy too
My issue is that brawling isn't as engaging
idk where to ask this but was tenos tail slap range just absolutely killed or something
is this guy asking for more utah buffs after all it got this patch? lawd
I think it was in the patch notes
Finally, but it didn't get buffed in the way I'd like
One shot pouncing things isn't my cup of tea
idk wtf this guy means when he calls pounce "punishing" for the utah when they removed 2 tactics that were previously used to counter it and broke the third
the water tactic made sense to be removed, good riddance to it, but the other two RIP
pounce is less punishing to raptors than it ever has been
Ehh
There's still missed pounce animation
Update 2 pounce was the least punishing
thats 100% player fault
didnt update 2 still have obstacle scraping and water exploiting
It did, but you could rev up pounces like a chainsaw
So you could always disengage and keep spamming
then the only "punishment" left is the utah player being bad
update 2 was insanity
so this guy is nuts
god almighty tenoto actually just got blasted into the ground with nerfs
How is Teno nerfed?
Does it take a million headshots to kill a Carno?
The Aken guy suggested to nerf the damage output
But to make it work is to compensate with more stam
damage reduction is alongside health reduction to nearly all animals
in update 4 all its attacks got nerfed and attacks drain even more stamina
aken wants teno and carno to be a 50 50 or some shit even though carno has an engagement advantage
Yeah lmao
carno controls the fight
people who think a slow ass herbivore should be 50 50 with a fast ass carnivore baffle me
teno isnt very slow but--
in comparison
I see his point with Teno slamming down Carno in one combo, but I believe the slower should always have combat advantage
unless the teno is near water, it fully controls what angle it attacks from, when it attacks, if it wants to continue fighting and if it wants to leave, etc
Do carno alt attack do more damage than normal these days? Not sure on it and deino, utah still does more damage with alt, right?
No outliers, no exceptions
If it was Cera/Teno it'd be more reasonable
carno has always got an advantage in the form of combat control, unless the specific scenario of an available water source is near
Both are brawlers
cera teno 50/50 makes a lot more sense
It depends on how teno should behave vs a carno really
cera wont be the fastest shit on the island, it will probably be around teno speed so it should be more even. carno should get whooped straight to hell if it messes up because it chooses if the fight happens at all
especially since it's very likely they will both be slower on land, decent swimmers and primarily brawl-focused
they HAVE to fight if one picks a fight
You could make teno "run" from a carno though, sort of
Right, Carno is a speed demon as well
They don't have the luxury to brawl like Cera/Allo
tenonto is a brawler, so why should it be running from a faster ambush predator of the same tier
as the game stands dinosaurs are either powerless or have no competition and they take over the server
How can it run even?
Carno blitzes everything
Even Galli, the fastest herbi
idk why they fuck with tenonto so much when it was the most balanced animal for so long
I'm not saying it should, just that with the teno tailslam being CC, you could make it work and have teno be a fighting retreat sort of fighter in the case of a carno matchup. But it might make more sense vs a cerato perhaps.
I don't see that at all, with the raptor changes, even stego has something to fear
at least until more dinosaurs are added
It's mainly because it can defend itself well
Apparently too well
if we turn herbivore brawlers in to bonk and run away there will be nothing putting obnoxious overpopulated predators in check
dog i struggled to kill a juvenile deino that was on land with my tenoto because my attacks were doing nothing to him as an adult
If the herbi runs away, the carni starves? :p
an herbivore defending itself "to well" translates to it requiring using your brain to fight it which is too much for most carno mains
not at all because ai actually isnt even hard to get to hold yourself off as carni
Ai is easy to farm
And cough center
also, in my experience, pachy either needs a buff or better players, because I've been killing so fucking many as utah
This game is on easy mode and at the same time infuriating because of the map
Utah issue
brawlers should be putting down their assailants and making sure they dont come back for seconds, not knocking them once upside the head and scurrying off like a chicken shit because people think herbivores cant be violent
They buffed it for the wrong reasons, in the wrong way
tenotos rear attacks seem pointless too bc they seem to only hit right at your ankles
I'd be in favour of removing the kick
Doesn't do much
And repurposing it would give it too much tools
Did I at any point say something like that, or even oppose that tenos can fight? :p No, all I said was that you could make it so teno can "bonk and run away", being that it has a great tool to keep distance/deter a predator while also running away. Now, I'm fine with teno smacking carno around, being that carno is supposed to hunt things that are rather small, and teno does come in almost as big as a carno.
Make the tailslam CC "only", make the kick deal the actual damage. Give them both a different purpose.
Nah
I have a different idea
Remove the kick, replace it with a heavy tail slam like in the concept art
That'll be the most powerful attack in it's arsenal
The normal tail slam can be nerfed and be it's main attack
But why? :p
just fix the tail slams hitbox and put the damage back so that tenos arent just putting tiny papercuts on things half its size
I think it'd be more dynamic, and be make more sense if Teno will have a oneshot ability for smalls
It could be charged up like Pachy's ram
Indicating that the attack is coming
Considering how the pounce works, this should come as absolutely no surprise. Unless you're killing them in some other manner? :p
Timing it right, you'll always have an edge over anything Carno-like
Less skilled players and we'll compromise to more of Aken's akin "50/50"
I'm just in favour of trying to make this game more skilled as much as possible
Thing is, pachy works frontwise, not sure teno tailslam would be half as effective?
Unless you meant the whole turn around and slam in front? :p
Ah okay, yeah then it could work. Still, seems a little bit of a waste to not have the kick at all. Could rework the current tailslam according to that and still have the kick do something as well I think.
The nature of kick doesn't make it engaging enough even if it did something like fracture or more damage.
It's shorter range just doesn't make it optimal
Still iffy on the Utah pounce thing
One shot pouncing is lame, makes me have to play more on the lines of something like Pachy or Teno
Winning the encounter from landing one special ability
Rather than working for it
Bring down the pounce a bit
Increase bite damage or bleed
I play Utah specifically for the reason of being challenged and overcoming greater odds
When I wanna wreck shit, I play Pachy or Teno
Even if you did, why use bite when pounce would still most likely be the better option?
bite should just help keep the bleed not be the main tool
I agree and disagree, but then I want a complete rework on how utahs hunt :p
the good thing about kick is that you can use it when moving, so it becomes extremely useful if you are ambushed or fighting many opponents
im actually not even using pounce
just standard/alt-bite
That's not really how it works in practice
The increased stam regen makes pounce just a better option
Oh, well that sounds more like it might be a bit on the pachies, but it could be due to being able to move with the altbite now making it just outright better than normal bite?
Damn they suck then
But wouldn't it still be better, even if you nerfed a little and increased bite/alt bite?
@limber hullAlso, if the info is public somewhere, could you remind me which altbites does increased damage and which doesn't?
Then they should reevaluate the tool kit for Utah
Have other tools in it's arsenal be more relevant
One shot pouncing creatures with it will get old
For both me and the players afflicted by it
It's personally just not working for me, it turns off the appeal
Especially since it's an offensive based creature
Shouldn't this go for all critters really. Sounds like it'd be fun in general, not just for utahs. But you know, I'd like for you to describe a hunt to me, if you can be bothered to :p Curious to see how you envision it all ingame and all that.
Say, if I get a pounce on someone, a larger creature in an ambush
From there I can skewer the oppressive odds by a bit. If I play off those odds. I can turn a normally not good matchup into a feasible one by keep putting pressure on maintaining my gaining odds
Slipping up for a moment should end me quickly
But if I do succeed in constant pressure, I can overcome the challenge
There would be an upper limit of course. Not advocating to solo apexes
But that's the whole reason for why I play Utah, akin to a rogue or a swift dexterity based class.
When there's less of a challenge to succeed, and non existing feasibility for this rule. I'm immediately turned off from this creature's prior appeal
It just plays more of like everything else, and that's a shame
I think I get what you're after, but maybe I'm missing something, because it sounds like you could, at least in theory, still do this with pounce itself? And I'm.. not sure thinking of the critters in terms of classes like that, even if it's just as a reference, is accurate for the game. Even as it stands, pounce isn't a one-shot so you still have to keep the pressure up, even if one pounce might bleed something out if it doesn't get to rest, that still requires your constant attention?
Mmm
Not so much right now
It's too overtuned, and the bite to upkeep the bleed feels negligible
Any idea why isnit always night at evrima?
It also feels unclear and vague(ig to do away with "metas" which is a really dumb take)
Except it doesn't if you play Tenonto where it's supposed to be played. I haven't had a single engagement that I didn't choose as Tenonto last time I've played it - why? Because I played it near water where it's meant to reside. Stop with this nonsense, if you're trotting about in the plains where Carno is supposed to be and you're far away from the water you should run the risk of getting killed.
Oh boy here we go again
This match up should be 50/50, it's between a smaller herbivore that(at least is supposed to) has a shorter growth time than the carnivore. The idea that Tenonto should have double the damage output of Carno is just ludicrous.
Yea, here we go again with people defending the damage output of a 1.6t animal being as high as it is.
“If i lock myself in a single biome then i can swim away!!1!” Yeah except 1. That biome houses deinos who will oneshot you and 2. You have to venture away from it for food sometimes because the devs put food in stupid ass places. It is in the same tier, it is slower, it is a brawler. It should have the melee advantage, period
Carno isnt a brawler and it is the fastest piece of shit on the island
You literally say this as if you were clueless to all the broad balance changes that the devs have introduced in 3.75. Every animal got nerfed there? Tenonto was the only one that retained its damage output in that patch? Are you pretending not to know that or are you just oblivious to all that?
the mindset that every water is infested with deinos is dumb, i have swam in trough many rivers and waters
^
let go of early u3, its no longer like that
what a pointless argument, teno needs to be able to either outbrawl carno or flee from it by inflicting bone break of sorts
I literally never got munched by a Deino aside from one instance in update 3 where I literally tried to fight an adult Deino as Tenonto
this whole argument is absolute nonsense
Carnos are still wailing their idiot heads off on every corner of the map and killing shit clearly shows that they arent suffering. And yes not every bit of water is deino infested but a lot of it is
well u3 (before 3.5) yes, basically every water had deinos but that was a long time ago
Well I specifically went out of my way to try to fight Deinos as a Tenonto on that patch so there was no surprise that I died to them at some point
The idea that "Carno is the fastest one" is also hardly relevant since it also has the lowest stamina pool in the game, if it runs for a bit you can absolutely kill it as a Tenonto.
If you get to water it cannot follow you at all
fast but not agile*
not agile and with the slowest acceleration in the game
the rest of the roster either has much better agility, speed boosts like teno or huge health like stego/deino
so beeing the fastest only gets you so far
The fight between a Tenonto and a Carno should be close to 50/50, perhaps slightly in favour of Tenonto not "I double your damage output while also applying CC"
the one that imo should be 50/50 is cera v teno as both are brawlers with water preferences
GL with Cerato surviving a combo from Tenonto with this damage output
not like cera will have much higher damage to carno and also be a brawler
unless they give it some additional damage reduction from incoming attacks or crowd control resistance this animal will fall apart like a house of cards when the dumb iguanodontid hits it with a single CC
it could potentially have damage resist like pachy does to its head
pachy takes less damage to head than body, which is unlike the rest of the roster
I feel like either my computer all of a sudden can't run the isle, or the fixes they've done on FPS have done nothing.
50/50 matchups are only fair when looking at combat
When you factor in engagement control
The odds aren't as even as they seem
A speed based predator shouldn't be perplexed it may be challenged when facing a brawler
Do pachys get the concussion vision or a head fracture at all from other pachys?
Carno should absolutely be challenged(which it is) when facing a Tenonto, it's Tenonto that shouldn't be perplexed when it gets challenged by Carno which is an animal that has a longer base growth time and is larger than it.
Are they putting all the AI spawners inside of the dense jungles? Where I can't even see my own dinosaur let alone hunt AI? I've been playing for 2 hours and keep dying of starvation or other players that are bigger than me and for a diet system that makes you rely on these things, an abandoned island seems very lacking in an abundant ecosystem. There should be chickens eating on roots and deers and goats everywhere, occasional boars but like... I see none of these. Just big ass Carnos roaring in the distance. Must be nice.
I'll even go into these dense jungle areas and just sit and listen, waiting for something to happen and NOTHING. I killed a frog I guess that counts?
ill test it
the 50/50 rules sucks shit tbh since everything usually runs around in groups
however teno vs carno is currently a 55/45 for the carno imo
at least I'd say that from the last fight I just had
actually 60/40 for the carno if I think about it
but it was my first time playing teno so maybe I should keep that in mind
teno is a brawler, in itself that means it has a high skill ceiling compared to carno
yup teno defenitely takes way more skill to play, carno mainly is just positioning and when to ram
well that sounds like a you problem not pachys
current game state is the game problem
also harder when the animal youre trying to hit is 14 km faster than you
i've played for a bit and there was no desync, lag, and i had great fps for my gpu
no way bro nice 3k pc
balance has never been as good as now, stego still has some issues but there is only the lag and fps as a problem rn
yeas with my gtx970
show me a clip of u being at south with 10 dinos
can't even play the game with no shadows on a gtx1660
i dont get what was fundementally wrong with riverside wallowing...
prob didnt look as fancy as dynamic mud lol
haha yeah, now when i play pachy i just glue myself to center pond cuz getting pounced by utah is a death sentence
super boring
preach
both where bad as beeing extremes, we need a balance of the 2, not to common but not rare as fuck so they are pointless
@snow kiln There are unofficial servers if the official ones are full
There is?
Anyone think humans having prox voice chat would be a good idea?
Is the qa with humans public? Can't look for myself it's kinda late 😂
they couldve stuck the landing with this update by making sure the ai respawn
same problem from 3.7 they respawn once after each restart then never again, or never at all in the first place
did they add the body fracture buff? seems like it doesnt exist lol
has anyone had their dino deleted after a fatal error crash?
extremely frustrating...
Do dinos not drown from stam loss anymore?
apparently not. at least as carno i didnt
Yeah my utah doesn't drown either lol
happened to my friend yesterday right before they were going to have their first adult utah fight, very disappointing
I have not once seen an “unkillable” herd in center, and carnis are free to go anywhere including center which is incredibly easy to find. The issue with herbi diets is they are a boring and repetitive chore no matter where they are placed, it still boils down to running in a triangle for 3 boring plants.
The only herbi species i ever see grouped up in numbers surpassing 3 at center are pachies that are usually aggro to other herbies regardless of diet
i do find it hilarious to focus on "managing land creature populations", ignoring the fact that u got a bunch of adult deinos doing fuck all and not contributing to the game in anyway since they are untouchable and therefore not worth interacting with
@barren zephyr Not everything needs to be written in latin in order to look good
If anything, it will make things less clear
ok fair enough I suppose
Yeah i have an adult deino in the river at the east border eating elite fish and deer ai doing jack shit for the ecosystem thats how easy it is
Tenonto tail swipe? Wtf lmao
Yeah maybe if it wants to break its tail and/or knock itself over
@tepid river
I agree with most of what you said. We need WAY more water on the map, and a couple ponds with a lake or two would be nice we well. Herbie plants can grow at these water sources and some AI spawns would be nice too! I'd personally like a much bigger swamp but that's just me. Either way, more water means deinos aren't all stuck together and can spread out across the map. Honestly, this would benefit everybody.
Titanboa eating mid tiers? maybe the juvie ones
Adults as well. Titanoboas were gigantic.
It was like a couple feet thick and it couldnt unhinge its jaw like a modern boa
It was more like a big elephant trunk snake
It was 50+ feet and it would be bigger than the ingame deinosuchus. Actually, it COULD unhinge its jaw, so it would be able to eat mid tiers till apexes are added, deinosuchus included. Apparently eating large crocodiles would be enough to feed the snake for pretty much a whole year.
Longer =/= bigger
Semantics. It was a thick snake, but it had a length to go with it. Three feet thick and fifty feet long, this thing used to eat turtles that were 5 and a half feet thick. That's a huge bloody snake
@hollow mauve grazing only gives you food up to 20% and it doesn’t give you nutritional values. That would be dumb, if you want your diet food go to where it says to find it, so basically centre
@minor reef deino is a crocodile
I was less than 20%, thanks. I ran around the entirety of center, the only place food nodes spawn are within a stones throw of South spawn, which is dense with other players. What I've found is that most of the map is empty, and we're being forced to very specific spots, which is absurd. Don't say food can be found in biomes, then have those biomes be empty unless you're in a specific part of the map.
There is food in every place with plains
Wait brb I got an image
There just isn't.. I ran around the entire South/East edge of center and found nothing
Have these
Just need to upload on this mountainside
Don’t trust me on the second one idk where I got that from
crocodile or alligator, titanboa would be a free spaghetti dinner for adult deinosuchus
@barren zephyr just because you cant aim is it nessesary that there comes autoaim yeah man thats the best way to do it. Mabey dont play Hypsi then if even aiming at a 8 Meter long Crocodile is to hard for you. Man i rly hope that you dont play any Shooters 😄 ANd if there was Autoaim it would be still Useless because a Hypsi is a trolling Dino nothing else you spit at someone they get a little blind for 30 Seconds and thats it your not gonna kill anyone with it.
I had the Same expierence as you. I played Herbie 3 Times now, even hypsy once, and I could find nothing in my diet while running around for at least 1h. I don't Know the map, but I should still be able to find things ob my diet at least after 30minutes.
Idk this constantly runing and moving makes the Game ubplayable for me because you have no time to actually pay attention of what ist surrounding you. I couldn't even socialice because they needed other diets and we had to part ways after Meeting...
It's Not helping that you can't get coconuts untin a certain grow stage even If it is your Diet food... Or that you get punished greatly for Not having it while finding it is abaolute balistic
Maybe play another herbi than pachy since it's the hardest one to grow ? (Maybe barring stego, but I never grew one)
Dryo, teno, or hypsi then? Dryo is nothing but food, Hypsi's don't grow so not much of a draw, and Tenos were just gutted.
I tried hypsie and dryo
That's not like you have much more of a choice with carnis, their roster is even more limited
And also pachy.
I agree finding coconuts is hard as a baby pachy, but the rest is easy. And no, I didn't spend 400 hours on the game to learn the map by hard, I discovered update 4 yesterday
The point is there's not much of a draw to play herbos because food sources are hard to come by, which makes carnos food sources hard to come by since they removed AI dinos for the time being. Game just seems to be in a real shit state right now.
Unfortunatly it was hard for me when I played three different dinosaurs. Idk but it should be possible to find diet food after 1h in my opinion
I didn't have much trouble growing a utah nor ptera either, and I didn't try carno nor deino because I hate them
Ptera is the most fun with diets, if you're playing on the coast right after a restart. Otherwise I think utah and pachy are the best carni/herbi to play with the way things are rn.
All of pachy's foods are present in the outer edges of center (except agave, which is slightly inward). Utah can hide in bushes and fill up on literally anything to last it to adulthood really. Ptera can fly so it's not hard to get a good view of everything and find what you need.
If anything, the fact you start with around 15% hunger and 0 nutrients is a bit harsh and makes you rely on luck in order to be able to start playing
The game is in a Shit state right now. Deinos have to Cannibalise because nothing has to drink at the River anymore because theres Shallow water and The new Pond for some weird reason. I rly would love to understand the logic behind it putting a pond there
I will try my luck with ptera then. Thank you for the imput 💯
The game is in a shit state for deino (which is a shitty playable anyway), the rest is fine.
If it betters it's diet system, then yes 😋
The fact that we're essentially relegated to Pteras, or struggle to maintain a perfect diet is nuts.
everybody has his own opinion to different Dinos. I dont like the Carno but i dont cry about it or call them shity or what ever but we got one thing right that the game is at a Shity state right now yes
Not even a perfect diet.. struggle to not starve on other carnos beside pteras
So the fact that deinos are a shitty playable is a personal opinion but saying the whole game is shit isn't ?
i grew 2 Deinos and one of them is a Adult right now so i cant rly complain but the Gameplay is just broing
Yeah deino gameplay is just mind numbing
no it isnt because the Game could be better you can change a lot about a whole Game but not one little thing in the game.
Yet some people enjoy it somehow
everybody enjoys something that other ppl dont enjoy thats live 😄
Idk for me it really only is the fact that it is kinda hard to find the diet food. And you have to be Stressed about it all the time. Like you have nearly No Time to Just enjoy the Game. Inteeactions are a pain because you actually can't unless you want to lose time finding your nutrient. It feels like runing a marathon all the time
I didn't feel like that when I played
As a Pachy I spent most of my time standing guard to protect my herd, sparring and fetching different foods to feed the babies
It is really nice that you are enjoying the Game and i really wish I didn't feel that way but for me it's Not fun right now
Deino is waterlocked but still has dietary requirements, which means after 50% growth you're going to seriously struggle making it to full adulthood, especially with so much cannibalism. If you feel bad for baby deinos and don't have the heart to eat them, you won't make it too far.
Tenonto got kinda curbed with its combat nerf, but its diets are still rough to fulfill.
Dryo is nothing but running in giant loops for food and then getting 2-shot by a utah.
Hypsi is the same as dryo but with more jumping and screaming.
so yeah ptera, pachy, and utah are the best things to play atm, but i would say ptera is by far the easiest and most fun, with utah in second place and pachy in third
The pachy just mainly feels like shit right now because bleeds are so effective and finding a place to wallow is neigh impossible
What diets would need to be really enjoyable would be more diverse options for herbis (like at least 2 plants for each nutrients) and a complete rework of carnivore diets, using meat quality and gore system instead of needing to kill specific species
Pachy is high skill floor imo
It's juvie is the shittiest in the game so you gotta always hide at the slightest menace, but once adult and if manage to use its headbutt properly you can go around and kill carnos by yourself
But you can't do a thing to 2-3 Utahs working together.
You can parry pounces
You can't parry bites..? All they have to do is maintain a bleed. Which, again, is very easy considering wallowing takes so long IF you manage to find a mudhole
Also numbers are always a big problem for game balance, any playable becomes overpowered when there's two of them against a single enemy
Utahs need to come close to bite, and a single headbutt and they're pretty much doomed. 2 utahs against one pachy is obviously in the utah's favor, but 2 utahs against 2 pachys ? Utahs are screwed.
I played for 5 hours earlier on multiple pachy runs and found no other pachys.. the draw to play them is seemingly gone. Carnos essentially have to pvp right now because there's no AI dino spawns. So you're left to play a herbo and hope to find friends quickly, or do the same on a utah/carnosaur. The only species to play solo feasibly is ptera, and that's just silly.
I guess we won't be able to agree since we have completely different experiences then. Today I grew a pachy completely alone, and once I was adult I helped others to grow under protection and we formed a pachy megaherd
I pretty easily found a group of 2 other pachy when I was a juvi, by the time we reached adult, we were able to go around taking on packs of 6-8 Utahraptors with relative ease
If you can't find others, then yeah you're gonna get outnumbered and swarmed, but in a 1v1 Pachy easily stomps, and even a few Pachy turns the tide strongly in its favor
Not really a fair comparison tho to say that 1 animal can't easily deal with 5 other ones
For me, Pachy's main weakness is framerate drops
Which prevents you to time headbutts effectively
Oh I managed to full grow one, as well, once I finally accepted that I have to stay in a very specific part of the map, which is another issue.. I saw no other Pachy's, one Teno, and one Stego at Oasis, which is typically always packed with herbos mixpacking with Utahs. It was sparce, and the carnivores that were there were attacking everything on sight, which I can't blame them for as they were probably starving. The lack of AI, the restricted food spawns, and new bleed buff have made this update hard to play, let alone enjoy.
Which bleed buff are you talking about?
The blood pool has been decreased for all species across the board in Update 4.
ye thats nerf
I wouldn't really call that a buff since their health was also decreased across the board
Cause they've been like that basically the entire mechanic test, if not the entire thing
I'm confused.. It's easier to bleed out now. My calling it a buff was directed at Utahs since they use hit and run tactics.
It's at best an indirect buff, you wouldn't say the universal hp reduction was a buff to all attacks would you?
You can't wallow anywhere but mudpits now, too.. so you're mostly left to sit and heal from a bleed.
like utah got nerfed like everybody in that sense so not like its the sole benefitor of it
If they didn't reduce the bite dmg, then a universal hp reduction would be a buff to attacks, yes.
Pachy uniquely is weak to bleed since it gets worse when you move, and Pachy is a constant motion machine
Bleed specifically didn't really get buffed any more than normal attacks did
Or you can claim the oasis as your territory
Since both health and blood were changed on every animal, if we are saying bleed got buffed, than so did regular damage
and if anything, utahraptor got flat nerfed
I'm not sure how to help you understand.. if they reduced the blood pool on all species, reduced the health pool on all species, and made it to where you can only wallow in specific spots, then bleed damage was buffed.
I understand the theory there, I disagree with the conclusion
bleed damage wasnt buffed, only its effectiveness
lmao
bleed is the same as in 3.5
i never specified dmg
Are you purposefully being pedantic?
It's not even that, bleed is unchanged, the animal's blood pools dropping universally I don't think is really a buff to bleed damage considering nearly every bleed dealing attack got nerfed
I think the only ones that didn't get nerfed was Stego's jab and Deino's bite
Okay but you just said that bleeds to the same amount of damage
bc they do
Carno's bites got nerfed, Utah's attacks got nerfed, and Stego/Deino still do negligible bleed, so it doesn't really matter since they kill with raw damage
So it's harder to stop bleeds, and easier to bleed out due to the HP and blood pool being reduced.. how is that not a buff to bleeds?
only the amount of health they have to go trough got nerfed
You also take less bleed damage nearly universally, which is a nerf
They didn't change bleed dmg.
the only exceptions still don't do enough bleed to be dangerous
talking about deino or every dino?
Bleed damage is dependent on raw damage, less damage = less bleed, this isn't legacy where bleed damage is a separate number
Every animal
interesting, didnt know that
Pretty sure it was mentioned in the 2.5/3.0 changes for pounce
something something proportion of raw damage to bleed blah blah
but yeah, if you cut Deino's raw damage in half, you cut its bleed in half
oh that, thought it was smth in u4
Look.. if you're blood pool runs out, you take a set amount of damage. It's harder to stop bleeds, everyone has a smaller blood pool and less health, therefore bleeds got buffed.
Where did I say it isn't a crocodile? Lol
Everyone is also doing less bleed damage tho, arguably more than the reduced bleed pools are going to buff it
they still have yet to buff body fracture
The wallowing is really the only point I agree with, it being limited so much makes bleeding more dangerous, however after 3.5, wallowing was never really vital
That's exactly what i said lmao
well utah still has crazy bleed values comparedto every other dino
since movement affecting bleed was introduced the same patch, which is way more impactful than the wallow buff, which got nerfed
That's true, it also got slammed by the nerfs however, so its dealing a bit less bleed than it used to
And the nerfs to its other attacks result in overall less damage, and less bleed damage
That's basically negated, though. The scary part about bleeding isn't the damage done while you still have a blood pool, it's the damage you take when your blood pool is gone
You don't take damage when your blood pool is gone, you just die
talking about how op blood is?
EXACTLY
shit is a joke
but the thing is, you can drastically reduce the taken bleed damage by limiting movement and not sprinting around like a chicken with its head cut off
smack the Utah when it comes in, they have to come to you
Your argument is so strange
point is to punish your would be bleeder when they move in to attack
u cant out skill bleed, unless the utah makes a mistake which is impossible
Even if you smack the utah around a bit, odds are you're gonna bleed out. It's silly.
My argument is based on my experience so far, I've never died to bleed because I just stand still and then hit them when they run in. Sometimes I'll walk or trot slightly to mess up their positioning, but going with the defensive wall approach is very effective
By the way, if you're bleeding and you need to go somewhere while losing as few blood as possible, would it be better to walk, trot or sprint ? (considering the different movement speed of each pace)
pachy bleeds to 50% when it bucks lol
Slower movement = less bleeding, it's better to walk
dont sprint basically
do you know for certain that walk even does anything
It'll be a lot worse if you're sprinting around playing way more aggro
Yeah but you'll be bleeding for longer before reaching your destination (for example a mud pool)
Is it still the best option ?
Yes I am certain, I even checked it yesterday while dealing with utahraptors
i just stand and charge
trot
Wallowing does not fully stop bleed, you may have a better chance at survival if you simply rest where you are. However if you can risk it, sure you can trot and wallow, but on its own that won't save you from critical bleed
Okay thanks
wallow + sitting does iirc
Yeah, was added in update 3
and the stam regen is aids when 30% bleed
All regen is slowed when you lose blood, that's its primary effect
yes, sux theres no way to counter play it but hope the utah messes up
Bleeder hits you and makes you run around to lower blood and waste stamina --> backs off --> you're now weak --> it does it again
I mean there is always "Hit the Utahraptor"
and/or avoid the pounce
just hit it?
I mean if they are running at you, predict their movement and bonk them if you can
not with desync
utah is frail, it cant sustain any significant damage
if you cannot, just dodge since pounce moves in a straight line, and then come at them from another side
Desync can be decreased to a point by playing on less laggy servers, but beyond that its a server problem, not a balance one
do you know if headbut/alt still override pounce or if only one of them does
I just had an epiphany
Once modding is available for evrima, I'll make a mod that replaces the pachy charge hit sound with the meme bonk
i literally took down a full adult pachy as a 70% utah, nearly killed a stego at 80%
with one other utah that was also 80%
Alt attack does not I think, Ram can but you gotta time it
Sounds like the Pachy wasn't playing too well, since taking a Utah is heavily in their favor
well even with alt it was timing but just that you can do that is a powerfull skill
just land an alt attack and they die/get a fracture from a followup ram and then die
just
Pachy's alt attack has a huge hitbox and its kinda spammable, so you can just kind look at them and mash and usually it works
alt is super effective for how low stam it costs
pachy drops to 70% bleed from a 2 second pounce, its seriously a joke
make its alt the Beyblade score
and they have yet to buff body fracture which does absolutely nothin rn
Body fracture does actually do something
also, dodging pounce is not at all hard with something as agile as Pachy
it is when the game gets fps drops and lag spikes
being bit from 3 feet away isnt fun
Personally I haven't had any such desyncs playing on the NA servers
but go on about body fracture
Body fracture increases stamina costs for all stamina based abilities, this is impactful enough to allow you to pretty easily run down a target with a body fracture if you can stay on them, since drastically decreases their sprint time, and for Utahraptor, this also cuts their pounce time dramatically
nor have i on Eu servers which where 66ms and up lol
As for FPS drops, I've maintained a stable 40fps at minimum, with a usual amount of about 80 or so
I'm running a 1080 for GPU and an i7 for CPU
weird, doesnt seem toi work for me
i killed a pachy with body fracture, pounced it even
did nothing
really seems useless idk
bad pachy ig... it may be hard to notice the effect of body fractures
Trust me, if you line up 2 animals one with body fractures one without and compare, you'll see the difference
So that's cap as I literally had to check it on both the public and human branches
as in: That is my 'job' [not paid but shut], to make sure they are working
so body fracture is working, I guess you're just missing its effects
noppers
since if you did line up an animal with a broken body and one without, had them both perform and stamina based action side by side, you'd see the animal with the body fracture rapidly tire in comparison
nope
care to verify that then?
If you have proof that body fractures are not working, please submit a bug report so it can be fixed
ill need to ask my friend if he has the video
since as far as I can verify, they are working
Just to run through the checklist
1: You and the test subject have to be the same size, as growth effects stamina consumption (smaller animals run for longer)
Can you verify you were both exactly the same growth?
yes
and that growth was what?
As Carno?
Ram's stamina consumption will fluctuate based on level of charge
but its fixed now
so you have to make sure you charged it the same amount if you were using that to check
we tapped it
and held
sad i dont have the darn clips
even so i think it still needs a buff tbh
Its def the weakest of the three, tho it's already kinda powerful. Getting a body fracture easily let my Pachy run down any Utah that tried to escape, they burned out of their stam pretty quick and were helpless once I got in
Yeah, I even noticed that the pachys were gaining on me, only way my Utah survived was the fact they can't track footprints which let me slip away into the forest
So pachy synopsis: Play like a bitch until FG, then stand and fight when attacked.
@tired bolt if you know what you're doing as utah you can pretty easily take on a pachy, maybe even 2 if they're dumb, 3 bites to bleed one out if it keeps running with you, and the way fractures are working right now gives you incredible leeway a lot of the time even if you're knocked to the floor. And in terms of growing utah doesnt have to be picky until halfway through its growth and still eating before 50% just gets you there with not much effort
@tired bolt there's this thing called a "pounce" that a Utah can do. Bleeds out a Pachy in a matter of seconds if you pounce it even just for a little bit. But I guess you can't spam bite it to death and need to actually use precision to kill it so that means Pachy is op.
Ah, another case of “This herbivore is capable of defending itself against me, nerf it immediately!”. Islecord never surprises
also forgets that utah as a heavy pack animal should already come with a slight 1v1 disadvantage, which it doesnt even really have, if anything a good utah vs a good pachy will pretty much always end in the utah winning
Pachy's blood pool collapses in on itself if a Utah even looks at it funny
actually thats a lie, utahs disadvantage is its general brittleness, which is even worse because when a fully charged ram can still end in a utah running away most of the time theres a problem
pachy when utah within 500 mile radius
Pachy like “reject evrima rework, return to legacy blood bag niche”
the only thing stopping more pachys dying to utahs is the lack of brains that they usually have
@chrome tendon
I kicked a baby raptor in the face and killed it instantly as a merc and i do not want that golden experience stolen from me
if you ever cant do that theres a problem
kicking an animal that small anywhere with a kick as fast as that is gonna break a lot and kill it
@chrome tendon wut are you on about
I also killed like 4 compies that came to eat the body
Merc gameplay is top tier rn
My pc broke the morning humans came and I’m crying waiting for someone to check it out
My condolences
This clip makes me more and more jealous every time I watch it
i mean i agree with keeping them out of the way for now after the test so they can keep working on them slowly outside of it all as they give us updates we actually want, but like bro?
I hope you will soon be able to share the experience of kicking a hypsi in the head 3 times and killing it
Publicly announce their existence lul
dude if he didnt scream like that it wouldnt have made me jump but jesus christ
I’m gonna stand at the waters edge attempting to get kidnapped, if something happens to come by I’m kicking it in the face
Have you not seen that clip yet? It’s reposted more than a meme on Reddit
Thats what happened with the hypsi it spat at me while i was swimming so i came to shore and beat it to death lmao
ive already 1 shot many hypsis to the body
Mercs the true apexes
I’m gonna watch some more videos on them hoping for more jumpscares
merc better than boar AI
I almost killed a dumb adult utah player with it too because he kept pounce spamming and missing for what felt like several minutes
me and another guy were in a big group of humans chilling with a pachy, we almost killed it when it sat down because it didnt get up until we'd both kicked it like 10 times
Merc pack hunter gameplay
im making a shitpost including stuff like that because
i have nothing better to do
Humans should get mafias with Tommy guns
🤨
Boys this pachy didn’t pay his protection fee, you know the drill
utah after landing a 3 second pounce on pachy
@peak quail The spark is fart cloud, the thing where u can sniff out herds n stuff. yellow is non preferred, green is preferred food.
Bruh I jumped so hard at the scream lmao
soys
do you guys think that i did a good job at a ban speedrun
🥰
lol
I have been a part of this server for a long time... this server and game just feels... incompetent
just the server and game for me lacks "fun"
which is why i am done with all this bs
... And attempting a ban speedrun!
without hurting anyone... except cringe
No selfies!!!¡!!1!!
What a champion
There he goes 😔
servers are bussin
@limber hull how much does a full charge pachy do both still and sprinting?
I’m ignorant to how this stuff works, but would there be a way to make both legacy and evrima playable without having to download one or the other? Like 2 separate games?
Yes @west wyvern
Download the legacy branch go to your steam folder rename the entire "The Isle" folder to something else, go to steam download evirma and when you want to play one or the other go back into the files rename it back to The Isle and switch the beta version on or off on steam
Thanks!
Yea but its not really enough like juvi rap still dies at a fall you wouldnt think that it would
i find baby raptor survives falls I'd think it would absolutely die from otherwise
dont forget that even the small animals in the game weigh a lot
i rem sliding so far down a hill and living as a utah
Pachies dont need any changes, its strong in herds and vulnerable when alone, thats called balanced. Utah is like that as well unless your just a godly player or something and dont need no pack/herd.
body fracture isnt that good tho
needs buff
also, pachy can easily be killed even in a group. trust me ive done it
I've seen pachy groups completely demolish utahs and even sometimes carno, Pachies are mostly vulnerable when they are stuck in the animation of missing a headbutt and that alone is what gives predators time for a counter attack, but a group of pachies can easily defend each other, they are tho indeed extremely vulnerable against carnos but just about most things are when it comes to carnos.
Ya body fracture does feel minor then what sounds like it should be.
@urban flax actually very good idea, much better than just kitting them out with tons of shit then saying "they need ammo otherwise they die!!"
ty!
I don't know if you ever played Unturned or Left 4 Dead 2, but in those games melee weapons are always very important (at least in early game in Unturned's case) because not making a lot of noise and not needing ammo are huge advantages.
Did his guy really just say utah pounce is useless rn
Also the ai isnt even hard to kill as juvi, it just has shitty spawns
I killed 2 boars as an almost-subadult juvie and killed a turtle and deer as a small juvie and carnivores dont even need to be picky at that stage
That is beautiful
It is perfect
Some would say, divine intervention
humans hardcounter deinos
this is perfect
I am happier with mercs than i ever thought id be
give them sharp pokey things and then the waters will be safe once more
I kicked a few player dinos to death but i haven’t tried on a deino yet, gotta put that on my to-do list
We will make boots of them
and purses
Make deinosuchus skin boots and then kick more deinosuchus to death with those boots
y e s
Humans when they see big alligator
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT
Humans when the baby Utah just wants to grow
i like how people say deino is hardcountered by humans but also think it's a good idea to attack a human immediately after spawning
you guys do know you only have to be 170kg to be able to drown and kill a human
and only need a biteforce of 85 to kill one instantly with a bite
Relatable
like i figured out how to counter humans guys
dont attack them 2 seconds after spawning as deino and just stay in the water lmao
Stop making me jealous! My pc isn’t getting its new part until Thursday! I wanna shitstomp baby’s
Humans groups after losing to a hypsi
Before
After
dead by daylight meme
The wait will make it all the more satisfying when you can finally dig your boot heel in to the body of a helpless utah juvie
:(
The man just wants to eat one of the many bodies everywhere, I won’t let him
i do like how people say humans are OP yet they yield to literally any adult animal
“Humans are Op”
also just spawned in as deino. This thing starts off only 40kg away from being able to instantly merk a merc
Still my favourite clip
guys i need help
i have this bug since a year and it just does not go away.
i caint open the menu with ESC. and i dont know why.
i deinstalled the game and instaled it back. nothing
i deleted the game file
nothing
i wanna know how to change it back to the origanal way
does anyone has an idea?
Herbis probably sit around in bushes because their gameplay cycle is boring as fuck and making them dry up like a fish out of water so they have to hug a river wont remedy the root problem
also having animals like stegos and pachys dehydrate faster seems horrid
Silverfox is probavly a croc main
Only reason they could make such an egregious suggestion lmao
@bold palm you a deino main?
Herbis needing twice as much water as carnis just because xD
I think this is the same guy who suggested that carnis can use water for food grazing too
Like get food from drinking. Insanity
I get that deino is pretty lackluster right now but his idea is just
Yes I just checked

making it so we actually had to cross rivers for once instead of being able to just go back and forth from center plains to the swamp to find literally anything as an herbi would be a lot better a solution to deino not being able to catch land creatures as frequently as it needs, a map change would work better
I dont want to have to interrupt my travels every 5 minutes to drink just because some salty deino main wants to nerf a whole faction in order to cater to his one playable
Wouldnt want it on carni either
Cus i want to play the game
Also pounce for ptera, instakill sweet spots, make same species unable to kill each other...
a lot of the 'players sit in bushes' issue is just because theres not a whole lot to do other than fight or eat really, once nesting is in a lot of bored players will likely be doing that and defending hatchlings
All three of those ideas sound like absolute cancer LOL this guy has got to be a troll doing suggestions like that
Yes and while you're not adult yet fighting is a pretty bad idea
as teno, i cross rivers a lot more now as their swimspeed is far superior
As pachy, I never ever swam xD
I don't even know if pachy can swim
Herbivores are slow as shit as juvi, all their food is in an open plains filled with carnos, utahs and aggro adult herbis, gee i wonder why they’d want to hide in a bush
yeah teno is in a pretty good spot in that regard, it feels pretty good for a creature thats supposed to hang around the swamps to swim quick.
wont catch me ever swimming on anything else unless im looking to die though, we know what happens if ya do XD
I barely even touch herbi rn its just boring and feels much more tied down than carnivores which i freely explore with
i just wish we got more than 2 swamps
and that the only other swamp was anywhere but in centre
I must say tho that hiding in a bush can be engaging sometimes. When growing a little pachy, freaking out at every sound since anything can kill you without effort and looking for the best way to not get spotted and holding your breath for 10 minutes straight as 3 carnos wander around the bush you're hidden in is really scary
Center pond is dookie
id posted it in my suggestion the other day but this was my idea for more swamps, if we have them more spread across the map im betting we'd see a lot better spread of players
South swamp is usually where i go as deino but unfortunately its size and shallow spots makes it somewhat hard to make an ambush
I'd prefer more rivers over more ponds
Lazy river from legacy would be deino heaven
most of the areas i threw ponds are a bit higher elevation and didn't seem like a river would be a good fit, but just a suggestion. one of the main things i wanna see is just bigger rivers in general, they feel like one lane traffic
Well rivers gotta start somewhere high
Lazy river and titan lake should make a return on this map
yeah, but it'd be a hell of a lot more work to completely redo the terrain to shove rivers in a lot of those areas so it doesnt look weird and still make it so deino has places it can hide without being at an angle or smth
or the complete pain of trying to get up a river with waterfalls every 30 feet
titan lake having a return being nice, it would be a hotspot for all sorts of aquatics
We also need more diverse aquatics
Bary and sucho could make shallow waters less safe, and beipi and minmi could take profit of the waters where there are no deinos
honestly id love to see a massive lake and i def think one should be added when sucho, barry, or deinochirus(sp?) come into the mix, and imo it's gonna be a must with spino
with how rivers are right now i dont think spino could fit in a single one
sucho seems like more of a shallow lover than bary
Bary and sucho both seem like waders rather than swimmers
But yeah
More big juicy water sources for fishers
a large lake would likely have a lot of large shallow areas to wade in, and plentiful fish though. deeper pockets for gators and spino, the shallows for the waders
Austros floating around in a lake and getting demolished by a gator would be funny to see
Beipi and minmi would probably benefit from a larger body of water too
Oh yeah I always forget Austro
I'd love to see it too
At least we're finally getting a new carni soon with troodon
id love to see areas kinda like this for beipi and other small aquatics, lots of foliage to hide in, rocks, fallen logs
those usually only 2-3 feet deep shallow areas full of algea would be perfect to hide a tiny little beipi in
@maiden anvil I like your idea,, fits trike well and makes it a threat to many apexes that fail to treat it with respect. Something that would scare the utter crap out of a rex that failed to ambush correctly and now has 9 tons of fury running it down with horns that can pierce its heart
Def should be one of trike's hardest hitting moves with tons of damage. Like a slower, more brutal carno charge
Lower turn radius but higher speed and insane damage if hit
I'd say trike charge should be faster than a sprinting rex, but consume a lot of stamina
Maybe with a very long acceleration time, like 3-4 seconds to reach top speed
i'd make it unlike a carno
a carno has to run to start it up, you could have trike kick the ground like a bull before bursting full speed
it being faster than a rex isn't an issue if the rex can simply aim to sidestep rather than outrunning
Yeah that's true
Maybe a mix between carno and pachy ? You got to charge it up and start near full speed, but then you can hold the charge for some time at the cost of stamina and impale everything in your way ?
yea
exactly that, bullcharge
considering the sound and obvious nature of the attack, as well as the complete lack of agility, it'd be mostly ineffectual against any wary animal that isn't a massive lumbering beast
@stray holly you have to look STRAIGHT down
looking slightly down isn't good enough, it has to basically be where the camera locks you from going any further
The hitboxes for breaking coconuts are kinda messed up though
If you watch the full clip I think that’s what I was doing towards the end
After I gave my buddy a concussion ☠️
@exotic saffron did you log back out and log back in after that happened? The same thing happened to me once and all I did was log out and come back and I had my original Dino.
The bull kicking to the ground is actually a neat idea. I know Ark has that mechanic to the trike and it seems to work just fine
now i like my idea less because ARK also had it :(
lmao
I played evrima on GeForce but all of a sudden for the pasts week every time I launch it on GeForce black anticheat screens with the panda spam my screen and later says it’s not downloaded but idk where the file is.
The fact a game is bad doesn't mean everything in it is terrible
Call of Duty is shit, but that doesn't mean every game that includes guns has to be shit
carno bit me once and did this like how does this make any sense
@polar hornet in response to your feedback, I'm assuming they removed it due to being the primary tactic for getting someone off of you, instead of the bucking mechanic that they poured untold time into animating for every dino.
Carno is big, you're small. Carno is designed to kill small things.
yeah I know but it makes utah so unenjoyable to play
Do you need to be able to shrug off attacks from your most evident predator like it's nothing to enjoy something ?
you have significantly better agility, you shouldnt be taking hits in the first place as utah
carno can hit you from miles away, at the moment in time i shouldnt have been where i was anyway. I was in the middle of killing a juvi carno.
so you mean it was a lagged hit?
No i was mid pounce when it hit me, im saying when being chased by a carno it can tail hit you from far away
@polar hornet mostly because if you were near any kind of rock or tree utahs were useless.
@stray holly Your suppose to look all the way down and aim at the coconut no inconsistency with it you just did it wrong
exactly
They need a mild buff
happens all the time
Not too much
I just feel like body frac needs a bit more impact
i think it should shut down charge and pounce or at least deal self harm while in use or activation
Maybe if the body is hit enough it starts lowering your oxygen. and if you dont rest you may suffocate in your own blood
or like wave said increase stam usage
like a severe fracture
that sound amazing
Itd take like 2-3 hits so the carno would have time to reconsider.
or it can keep fighting and complain in the discord when it dies
lol yes!
If carnos prey stands its ground the carno will have trouble. if you ambush them the prey is as good as dead
and i love it
carnos need groups to kill tenos most of the time. If the teno is good then it wont need to worry unless the carnos are coordinated.
teno is the biggest thing carno will normally kill
Its fun it just takes time. kinda the same problem with utah, if the lag is bad youre almost useless
ye
especially going against carno
being bit from 5-10 feet away is irritating
sometimes tail dmg counts as a body hit too
@barren zephyr I mean one pounce can kill pachy and one ram can kill utah.
Its kinda just who strikes first
also alt attack
A signle ram can't kill a utah? if their leg broken they can still outrun you
ram, knock it down, then spam alt attack
ram, knock it down, then spam alt attack. ram isnt your only damage dealer
Does alt do more dmg than ram?
if 3 ram isn't enough to kill a utah a single ram and spam alt attack shouldn't
u can probably hit him with just 2 alt attack b4 he gets back up so
while u bleed to death with single pounce
alt does less damage but it has a way faster attack speed.
so dps wise alt attack is better
and hit him with 3 alt attack then he gets back up
that feeling when the only person who agrees with you is your alter ego
multiple character slots would certainly make revenge killers happy or people who could scout out targets with a ptera and then switch to their carno or some toxic shit like that
scouting as a ptera then switching to your stegosaurus
its so ripe for abuse lol
i dont like it, if added though, when you want to log onto another dino in the same server there should be a 2hr cooldown to get back in maybe
Can pachys only knock down coconuts at a certain growth stage?
yeah pretty sure they gotta be half grown
@paper oriole were you the one that said bucking stam is bugged?
i mentioned bucking was broken in a feedback i made but i think somebody else made the comment more clearly before me too
ive had bucking randomly cancel out when i use it, i havent noticed a stamina issue probably because i dont get the chance to notice it lmao
yeah as far as ive seen it does take stam though i dont know if the stamina is bugged to do more or less than is intended because i havent been able to buck for an extended time
havent noticed any excessive drain or lack of drain
yeah same, i fought a carno and it seemed to buck and still run for long times
i hope this gets fixed, playing pachy is so hard rn.
its possible the carno was hacking because that shits been happening, they seem to run across the map without tiring
though also very possible that bucking is just broken with stam as well as its other functions
if body fracture actually meant something maybe pachy could escape carnos
there's been hackers using both foliage and stamina hacking, mostly carnos
i wish body frac put a cap on stam that scaled with fracture severity
like it knocks the wind out of you
carno is super easy to hack with unfortunately
fastest and strongest land carnivore
the game is set in the contemporan era
