hey guys, I am currently having an issue with the isle crashing on launch and turning the pc off, this doesnt happen with any other game so i know 100% that it isnt a hardware issue (e.g. i can run gta 5 on highest settings without issue). I have verified integrity of game files, Re-installed the game several times, updated drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, deleted saved in %appdata%. i just cant seem to figure this one out 😫 any help is appreciated

This seems like a generic gpu error. Make sure you update your drivers, also a simple steam uninstall wont do the trick, you'll have to try it manually. Try this "Right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files.

It should open up your Isle folder.

At the very top of the file path click "common"

It takes you back to a folder list of all your Steam games.

Keep that open, we'll go back to that in a moment. Now right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > uninstall game. After it's uninstalled you'll need to go back to that list of game folders and delete "The Isle" folder. That way there is no trace of The Isle, so when you reinstall the game it doesn't re-use any corrupted content that would normally remain after a normal uninstall."

Do you have both installed? If so it may be choosing priority over Evrima instead of legacy. Which can be fixed if you rename your Evrima installation folder, and then switch your main branch on steam to be Legacy.

it appears all i had to do is press hide empty in the server browser and it worked, try that too maybe it works for u as well

also put max ping / minute on 5k and do the same in the server browser in game before refreshing

then you scroll down and if you find small ping servers that means they're not copycat

It seems to be related to server location and hosting company, testing on our server shows that a server in LA shows up in the UK with only 500 as the ‘max’ search amount. However that was only through hosting websites, a server box on the other hand seems to still have the issue regardless, we think it might have something to do with the way the game reads and connects to servers.

As it is legacy it is not likely to be resolved.

If someone has a problem that when you enter the game, your computer completely turns off and restarts - you need to change the motherboard. Experienced it firsthand. There may still be problems due to the old video card - my boyfriend and I exchanged video cards (they are almost the same in power), and the isle worked without problems for him for a day, but then the computer turned off again.

Some of my keys don't work, I can't ESC, no attack work, use f call, rest, nest. And i can't use the chatbox.
But moving around, sniff and 1,2,3 and 4 call work.
But all controls work on evrima.
It happened when i changed back to legacy, from the other two branches.
I tried fixing it myself, deleting folder files, reinstall, reset settings. Nothing work.

Idk if in settings Combat and communication had anything, but nothing show up in them.

Hello, I just got the game over steam and can't join any servers.

I have been having an FPS issue on the isle. A few weeks ago I was running 80-140 fps, but now all of the sudden it has dropped to 20-30 fps. I have not changed any graphics settings or anything as they are still on all cinematic and on the same resolution. Ive restarted my pc and everything but its not helping.

So my friend is having a problem with legacy. Their settings are mixed with both legacy and evrima. They have legacy installed and when they join a server they can move around and stuff but can't press tab to view players or press esc to leave game. So I've been getting extremely bored of Evrima lately only for the fact that they don't update often. The only reason I switched to Evrima is because the servers on the legacy branch are completely broken. I try to click on a server and it brings me to the same china one over and over again. Isla nycta 3 is the only one that works but it hardly ever shows up. Maybe once a week. I wanna play the legacy branch so bad but I can't find a way to fix this issue. So a few months back a person told me I could avoid having to wait to reinstall EVRIMA and legacy over and over by copying a file of legacy. But it didn’t work and even after deleting the copy I am only able to play EVRIMA.

Legacy loads up but I can’t bite, chat or press escape. I have uninstalled the game multiple times, deleted files over and over again but nothing works.

I need help with the Isle legacy, everytime I play it I'm disabled, I cant chat, can't attack, cant rest. Is there a way to fix it?

I was trying do some fixes over the time that some times were helping but for now I start finding the less and the less this specific server

1. Restart Steam.

2. Search “Genesis”

3. Verify game integrity. Right click The Isle > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files

4. Click Steam in the top left of your Steam library. Go to Settings > In-Game > click the bottom drop-down box and change your max pings to 1000. (Note: I play around with the best setting for me. Some times I have reported 500 works better 2.)

5. Join another server, wait five seconds, try again.

6. Restart PC and/or router

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I joined a PVP sandbox server and cannot attack, chat, or escape. I can only walk around and call while I get attacked by everyone else in the server. I’ve logged out to check my controls and the combat section for dinosaurs isn’t there.

I have to die before I’m able to leave the server because the escape button does not work.

So I’m stuck in the server until someone kills me.

Everyone else in the server can attack so I can’t imagine it’s a game bug. I have to be doing something wrong.

Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

I haven't played legacy in a while. Just reinstalled and something definitely seems off with my darkness at night. My screen is pitch black by 18:30, never used to be the case. Is this a change affecting everyone or only me, because if only me it is definitely a handicap.

Thanks for the reply. I am well aware of the night vision. But when I used to play the game, night vision was certainly never needed by that time of the day. And even at certain points in the night, things would sort of light up enough from the moon and you could see outlines and shapes off in the distance without night vision. Now my game is so dark I can't see my dinos own ass by 18:30 and with how short range night vision is, if others aren't experiencing the same, it puts me at a major disadvantage. I was running around as a dilo recently and other players were certainly reacting as if they were seeing me from much farther than I would've had rolls been reversed. I've got like 450 hours played in legacy so my experience isn't just a one off. Something has definitely changed.

You definitely have more hours than me so I'll defer to your judgment, but don't different dinos have different night vision ranges? I stick to QA now but when I played Legacy I swear I got more night vision as certain dinos, usually small herbivores

No problem thanks for the help anyways. I was hoping to grab someone's attention that would've played legacy a fair bit prior to Evrima. It was around the release of Evrima things went wonky. For a while after Evrima my shadows and lighting in legacy would flicker and do weird things at different camera angles. That seems to have stopped but the night time darkness seems much different so I was hoping to get some confirmation from someone else.

Maybe first delete the config files folder and try again. The Admin keybindings are not interesting. The spectator mode is the one you use as a admin and with the „DEL“-Button you can see the names etc.

Hi, I can’t open The Isle at all. I’ve already bought it and downloaded steam. Whenever I hit play now it says “An error has occurred while updating The Isle(invalid platform). I looked at my computers settings and compared it to The Isles requirements and it meets all of them. It’s better than the requirements. I just can’t launch it.

Hello, i'm having some issues with joining some servers. Such as Nycta/Pandora where they don't appear at all. I tried several things to make em' work such as changing the ping between 500-5000 and direct joining with no luck. The exact problem is that the server won't appear to join at all. Any idea what could fix this?

Do you have evrima and legacy installed at the same time? This issue started happening fairly recently, it's generally caused when legacy isn't the main branch on steam

Having severe problems with Legacy. I get a large black bar across the top of my screen while on the first loading screen. It goes away in about 10 seconds after appearing. Another issue is that anytime I try to load into a server it freezes completely and then crashes without a message about the crash.

I had no issues at all before hand, but after I tried to get on evrima (note it froze and crashed as well,) I gave up and tried to go back to Legacy. Only for the problems to follow.
