Hi im trying to play the legacy branch it was working fine till I downloaded both the legacy and envirima, I uninstalled envirima and it still didn’t work so I uninstalled legacy and reinstalled still no change so I checked controls with still no change I uninstalled and reinstalled 2 times after that.
The issue is that stand and sit wont work, and I cant press ESC key to log, no its not on my end as those keys both work perfectly fine

Doing a clean manual uninstall and reinstall of the isle can help. As in going into your appdata files and manually hitting delete on everything on the isle. Also check to make sure your GPU drivers are updated as well as windows.

It seems that Steam will try to show servers closer to you. Alternatively, you can use a VPN if you have one. Can’t see any servers? Try checking your Firewall and if it’s doing anything with The Isle. The best thing to do is to add a firewall exclusion for The Isle's folder located within your steamapps directory
Open Steam
Select “STEAM” on the upper left corner
Go to Settings > in-game
Increase the “In-Game Server Browser: Max Pings / minute” value and see if it helps..

So here's what happens in Legacy for me. As my dinosaur moves around, I often find myself being suddenly teleported a short distance away. Also, there seems to be at times a disconnect between where I am and where the game seems to think I am. I have been standing right next to AI's and tried to bite them, and nothing happens. I have also been bitten to death by Velociraptor AI's that weren't even standing next to me. Ideas?

I need some major assistance with my game. I sent a report on Steam, but I've been trying to play the game for an hour and a half and the only thing I can literally do is run around, eat and drink water and roar. My keybinds don't seem to be working and the only solutions that I have seen I've tried (I have no Saved folder in my Isle files at all, even if I edit the keybinds in game), also when i exit the game it still says its running for a good 5 minutes and I can't switch servers or see any in-game settings whilst im in a server via esc. Unsure if that counts as keybinds.

I don't understand. But I've restarted my laptop, closed and opened the game after editing keybinds. I'd also like to note if I go into BETA (Evrima) they work fine and I can do everything, it's just the normal version (legacy). The server may be at their cap and cannot make room for more members
Being kicked, disconnected or failing to join the server causes issues: restart your game and try again

and as far as those problems go for legacy, sounds issues, make sure all graphics drivers are up to date, but, I'm pretty sure that's just legacy atm. It's buggy and not in a good state. And it will not be updated.

I have had this issue with trying to even find servers in game and no fixes on the Steam discussion page or here in the Discord has been able to fix it.

Using the steam view server function does show tons of servers to me, but if I click to join any of them a box pops up and then immediately disappears. I have been able to decipher that interacting with this is how I join the server but, again, it disappears before I can do anything with it
I have messed with my in game server pings, going from highest to lowest possible values
I have made exceptions in my firewall
My drivers and windows versions are up to date

A box pops up and immediately disappears. The isn't running when you join that way correct? If you game is running while you try to join that way, it wont join the server. The game has to be closed.

At this point, after an uninstall and reinstall, and going through all known issues for TI, I'd recommend digging into windows. I know it's very heavily an issue leaning towards The Isle, but we did uninstall and reinstall.

It's one of two things, or both.

1:You pc specifically is not compatible for unknown reasons, because Legacy is in fact, not a finished product and is subject to work for some people and not for others and is not a perfectly coded game.
or
2:Your Windows OS or Network card is conflicting with the game. Either that's antivirus or OS related, or the Network card needs to be diagnosed for issues. All of which you can do online, or contacting a Windows support tech.

Uninstalling and Reinstalling windows is always albeit a painful an option.

It's understandable your frustration. The Isle is in development. There are issues that need to be worked out, and the allotted time for said issues to be fixed. I apologize you're experiencing this, these fixes we have are in fact 'bandaid' fixes that can help. They don't always.

Again I'd try using those fixes and methodically testing to see if any of them work, while the Developers attempt to work out the issues with both branches in the meantime.

That's my experience anyway.

If you haven't set your Max Pings/Minute to 500 or 1000, try that. It will take longer to populate the server list but should list a ton more servers.

Hello, I have this issue with The Isle loading. The game loads up, the title page, I dont have a picture anymore. Besides that everything goes well but when I try to join server it loads but freezes on 11%. I then have to force close the game and then load it back. I will then be able to play on that server. Although if I want to use any other server I must redo the process. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and still nothing has changed. Some feedback would be great because this is starting to get really annoying.

At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder

OK so me and rubber are having the same control issue and I might of figured out what causes it. If you have both legacy and evrima installed and change any of the controls in evrima it breaks your controls on legacy

We had both messed around with the controls on evrima to help with warping across the map and then when we got on legacy all the main controls, like sit, bite, esc, and so on stopped working

I've already tried to reinstall( three times), reinstall cleanly, run the command that was told to run when this error occur, verify the integrity of the data from the game...Honestly, I don't know what I can do to fix this. so here is one solution that could help

Right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files.

It should open up your Isle folder.

At the very top of the file path click "common"

It takes you back to a folder list of all your Steam games.

Keep that open, we'll go back to that in a moment. Now right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > uninstall game. After it's uninstalled you'll need to go back to that list of game folders and delete "The Isle" folder. That way there is no trace of The Isle, so when you reinstall the game it doesn't re-use any corrupted content that would normally remain after a normal uninstall.

(5) This will retrieve all of the deleted game files, and reinstall. When you relaunch the game, you should be able to join a server without issue

I can't really play Evrima due to big optimization issues so I tried to rejoin Legacy and ran into a problem; only the calls and night vision buttons work. I tried remapping keys, I tried resetting to default, removing the saved file, but keyboard or controller; nothing changes or works ingame and the dino I had left over from gameplay earlier will only ever just sit there and scream in complaint. After some studying I realized the keybinds in the settings menu for Legacy seem to only reflect Evrima and not all Legacy options are in there, which makes me think that while I do not have Evrima installed, I'm still changing settings specifically for that game and not the Legacy mode I want to play.

Other people seem wholly capable of playing Legacy and I'm trying to figure out how, but I've run out of troubleshooting options on my end and would like to ask if anyone else has had this problem and/or has a fix. (Please @ me if you have a response!)

Ye ye. Deleting the saved file was the right way to go, however local files isn't the saved file you want. That was the old way to fix it. The way that worked for me, is this:

I went into %localappdata% using the file browser searchbar, navigated to TheIsle, and deleted the saved file in there. That fixed everything for me quite quickly. I also turned off cloud sync from Steam just in case it tried to replace those files, though I'm unsure if that'd actually be a problem or not.

Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

i have a question my legacy when i open it has like 6 servers with no people on it is there any fix to this ive tried to hide empty servers but then it says there is none evrima it too buggy and i get booted too much and legacy has alot more dinos if i can get help that would be great

It might have to do with your connection, the servers are very weird for me as well. If you have a server you like to play constantly then you can add it to your favorites through the Steam application.

Open Steam to the home page, at the top left you click view and scroll down to where it says servers. from there you can select a server for your game and add it into your favorites. You can also see more servers then what is listed on the game page.

yes but i have fine inter net on all my game even evrima it just boots me form time to time as i heard it still has a few bugs but legacy is like a graveyard not servers with people on it only a few empty ones and ive looked on the steam servers and nothing quite unfortunate

there are plenty of servers with people, just most of them are around 60ish ppl

and i meant your connection to the server itself, not your wifi. look through steam like i suggested

Every time I try to join a server this happens.
