For anyone coming for the same problem, deleting the Saved folder in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\TheIsle fixed my issue with being unable to find the Legacy Teutonic Servers

Fatal erros, and in game lag are a sign a GPU conflicts. Can be tied to, corrupt game files, or gpu drivers needing an install.

So The Isle is a survival horror dinosaur sim game. You basically spawn in as any dino you want, and use WASD to move, you need to watch the bottom right of your screen because you'll see hunger and thirst bars there, if they get too low, you die. You want to find food and water by using Q, as your sniff button. It will show you blue auras, and sometimes red auras or green, for water and food. If you find water, hold E to drink from it. Finding food as an Herbivore it will be green aura, in the form of a bush you can eat by again, holding E. As a carnivore you have to find other dinos and kill them, then you can eat them.

Keep surviving over time, you will grow, in size and power. Press INS on your keyboard to keep track of growth.

#

Once you hit 100%, press ESC and hit Growth. Your dino will then grow a big chunk, to the next stage, once you're on the final stage, and hit 100% you're at max growth and you've done the thing! Go around, explore, find people, make friends, enemies, ect.

So yesterday I could play without any issues, today my game is super glitchy. It’s like everytime I move, especially when I turn the screen is really shaky and laggy. I cannot find servers in the Legaсy version of the game The isle. I decided to try restarting the game, reinstalling the game, reinstalling steam, restarting the internet, restarting the PC. But nothing helps me. It never happened before. I decided to try to find servers through Steam. But it shows a small chat of found servers and empty ones there, but does not show active ones. I just can't find any server in the game.

As I see, no one cares about broken legacy now. Half of the dinos, especially herbivores can't just do damage sideways, while their head is turned left or right and now they can't even fight normally with this. Nice Legacy patches tho

Im not sure i understand completely the audio you're missing from the game. "No bugs or wind"?
Your ambience stopped working since the update 2? You've tried everything, what does that mean? What exactly have you tried?

What I would try is doing a verify files, or a manual uninstall and reinstall. Manual as is going in and deleting the whole isle folder.
Check your gpu drivers for an update.
Make sure your audio drivers are updated. Make sure nothing else on your pc is fighting for audio control, ect.

Hello. Ive got a problem with controls. Ive wanted to change one key but i accidently reseted my keys when i put them back to normal when i joined a server i coulnd use any key except Run Attack Crouch and use Scent. Ive tried RE-dowloading my game twice and verifying my files and reseting again my keys, nothing worked is there anything to fix this i cant play The Isle now becouse of this when i cant do anything.

Hello, like i explained, i tried several fixes, uninstalling, clean install, verifying game files, manually deleting, nothing works. All my driver are up to date. Before the evrima update i had no issues at all. I think if the ambiance isn't working for a lot of players you can safely assume that yes, the game is still in early access, and is a current bug. This isn't the final state of the game and is subject to change. I implore patience. Any issues not listed in pins or the evrima document, is most likely, either a bug, or environmental. Meaning there's something wrong with the PC not the game.
But I digress. Without hopping on someones PC and seeing exaaaactly how they're fixing things, or whats going on with their pc, or fully hiring a tech support guy for the team, this channel will mostly be, people ignoring the fact the game is early access and subject to change, and improve, or people ignoring the pins/already solved issues. If you have genuine feedback on how things are dealt with, move it to #general-feedback

Hello, mate the game was working fine, you guys updated evrima which is greatly appreciated, but now legacy is ruined. Saying that it is a game in development is the biggest bs i have heard. This game has been working fine for years. Now all of a sudden the shaders and shadows are fucked, ambience is gone etc. and nothing is being done. I came here to post my question and maybe get a solution to the issue. But i feel like you guys don't care and that my question regarding a game we all purchased is out of order. This has been like this for months now, people are complaining on several websites and forums, but you arent proving info a solution or maybe a fix
please look into this, or maybe talk to some other developers to fix this. i feel like the issue isnt getting any attention.

@ocean escarp go to %appdata% in the task bar, the click back to your appdata folder as it automatically puts you into Roaming. then hit local and scroll down till you find TheIsle. inside that folder should be a Saved Game file. delete it.

So just in case anyone cares.. Although it has probably been reported before.. After 3 month break of the game (hoping u will find it in your heart and brain to revert or fix Legacy) i came back and found another game breaking problem in Legacy that came with "The Fix" few months ago. So now beside flickering lights and shadows, De-sync or new lag problems (call them how you want) i found out that The sound is broken too. So u cant hear dino sounds 360 anymore but u hear only those u are facing meaning a rex can walk 15m behind you and brodcast or chat and you wont hear him if u are facing forward... I triple tested this..

i cant help you sorry, all the calls work fine for me. maybe try reinstalling? however they cant revert or fix legacy, the last patch they tried to do broke the whole game due to the old code. Hence Evrima

thats why evrimas being made. the old code stops them from updating and making helpful changes to legacy. Evrima isnt just The Isle 2. its supposed to be an actually playable Isle. one they can update without game-breaking bugs to follow.

It's a bug introduced in the latest patch. It renders the game pretty much useless if you enjoy the pvp aspect of the game. No word from the developers on when / if this is going to be addressed. Pretty disappointing considering there's still a huge amount of people playing (and had paid for) the Legacy game. I can't personally play Evrima because there's no support for invert mouse (how this has been missed I'll never know!)

I redownloaded legacy and suddenly, i can use half of the keyboard controls anymore. I can't lay down (H), get to the esc menu, get to the ins menu, or get to the tab player list. I tried adjusting the audio in the start menu before selecting server/dino because I hate playing with music and it didn't change a thing when I jumped into the game. Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder."

Ok so go to common, then to isle folder next to all your other games then delete that isle folder

After deleting the folder you need to uninstall and then reinstall.

Because you delete the old isle folder it will create a new one with all your saved progress and everything and nothing will be changed

A fatal error, either you need to fully uninstall and reinstall the game, or, direct X drivers, or your UE4 drivers, or GPU drivers. One of those.

arrangement of the cooler can be important too, if you put those meant for intake ontop and the outtakes at the bottom, they'll create a current that heats itself up with time if there is limited space

hello, I was wondering if there was anyone that could help me with a problem I'm having with the Isle legacy. Ever since I downloaded the beta for evirma, my game constantly crashes with the error that the unreal engine is exiting due to the D3D device being lost. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling (also deleting the isle file as well), checking updates with my drivers, updating unreal engine to the latest version, and setting NVDIA to debugging mode. I feel like the only next thing is to go into the actual code, but I dont want to mess with that stuff since I dont understand it that well. I am open to more suggestions if someone has any

I'm having a problem with the evrima patch and legacy, I switched from legacy to evrima and when I switched from legacy the controls were fine. But when I switched back to legacy from evrima the controls were not working I cant "lay,bite,F call,chat,esc or look at the server list and its really hard to enjoy legacy now. Please help anybody.

If you've deleted that folder, and restarted TI, and it isn't working, you may have to resort to reinstalling again, and if that doesn't work, the issue is environmental. Aka something is happening on your pc specifically causing this to happen, and I cannot help you from here.

There are many players who, just like me, can't hear any ambient sounds such as the bugs, wind etc. We only hear roars an footsteps and that's it. Its game breaking for me and many others. Would be great if you could provide some info on this. As I cannot see or find any fixes nor do i read anything about this in this thread or in general. This issue needs more attention.

I also know it's buggy as hell and unplayable due to lag , the map is boring and too small, I can go on....I've tried it several times mate.

They need to rollback the previous patch of Legacy. It effectively broke the game. I don't care about a supposed hacking problem. I care that the game I PURCHASED works properly again. There are hundreds of players who still play Legacy. Evrima, with its lack of playable dinosaurs, is not a comparitive product to Legacy, and an opt in Beta. I might raise a petition to present to the Development team as they're just not responding to the Community (their paying customers).

@everyone that has experienced the failure message, i have a theory that this could be caused by switching the properties of the game to evrima, if some people could confirm/deny this theory that would be very helpful, i too am having the problem and if anyone here hasn't switched to evrima but is still having this problem plz let me know, i'm not a dev(my brain is way to small for that) but i have a theory and only you guys can confirm/deny it.

Do dinosaurs teleport everywhere for anyone on servers that have a player count over ~100? Is there a way to fix this at all? It’s so hard to fight or do anything when people just teleporting 10 feet ahead of you and slide all over the place.

Hello

I'm not sure where to post it but for some unknown reason it takes forever to load/launch and I'm uncertain to solve the problem. I switched from Evrima to Legacy and that's where the problem started, so I cleared my downloads to see if it works, and it didn't, perhaps the problem is that my laptop is weak but that never happened before. Could anyone help?

(Probably my Laptop, yet not sure.)

Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

Its likely that your storage driver in your PC/laptop is having some issues and could need defragging/repairing which doesn't always work but is worth a try.

When i try to switch back from evrima to legacy it works, but when i load in as a creature ingame im unable to chat or attack, my 1,2,3 and 4 calls work fine though, this isnt an issue in evrima though.

I am unable to find more than 6 servers on the isle right now. even looking through steam. I have changed my ping settings from 250 up to 5000, adjusted my filter settings and even tried in the isle game to see if I can see servers. Does anyone know a workaround on this?

My game crashes. I go into the game and after about 3-7 minutes of the game it freezes and gives an error (I will attach a photo below). At the same time, my average FPS is about 40, and the game does not freeze at all, it crashes often and it is not possible to play

not sure if this is the place to put it but on legacy a lot of dinos have glitched textures for me, as example I'm using albertosaurus, the one on top is a screenshot from a friend, the one on the bottom is from me, and this issue carries on in evrima because the dryo and stego there have no eyes, does anyone know how to fix this?

So lately on the legacy branch, (as far as i'm aware, yesterday, february 14th) there have been hackers going around isle servers and it seems they are crashing servers possibly intentionally, they're able to completely circumvent the server's ban system, etc... is there any way to stop this? perma banning the account doesn't do anything, the server console complains about being unable to kick the person, they come back, server goes down once again. Have a community of over 1500 members and this person of questionable moral ideals keeps wreaking havoc

Hello ! same problem than @slow zephyr, can't write, attack, or anything, and can only move or make some screams. The fact is that my settings are like imported from Evrima to the Legacy (name of the commands that weren't in legacy and existing on evrima are now on it)
So when i go in settings, i see "nesting- disabled", "primaryattack" - "primaryattackB", and some other stuff which shouldn't figure on.
Tried to reinstall and to delete any files i could find but nothing changed :/ Do you have any idea ? Maybe I am doing something wrong ? Thx in advance

@pseudo pike to fix legacy's controls after playing evrima, the file you need to delete is in your appdata folder at AppData\Local\TheIsle\Saved\Config\WindowsClient and delete the file "Input" (might be named Input.ini if you can see file extensions)

technically, the file will still be there even if you uninstall because those are where your settings are saved

Goto The Isle on steam then left click it, properties, local files and click the browse local files thing goto the common folder and delete The Isle Envirma file then uninstall the game and reinstall it and Legacy should work properly now

Anyone got an idea how to fix not being able to load past 11% when joining a server? I have restarted my computer, verified game files, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and even replaced my graphics card with a different one...My graphics driver is up to date (I did an express install, and 2 or 3 custom clean installs to no avail on both). I'm out of ideas now lol, any help would be greatly appreciated :D

Also, should I upload my system information in a .txt filet type thing or just separate it into 2 messages so it fits (but fills chat)?

Edit: Fixed by changing all settings from Epic by default, to the High.

A month ago i uninstalled and deleted the isle from my computer, about a week ago i have reinstalled it and started playing again however my game freezes every so often in legacy. i'm not sure what it does on evrima as i didn't download that branch yet but its odd as it has never happened before this. i have the settings on medium/high/epic and get 60+ fps no matter what settings and i even set some lower but it doesn't seem to completely stop it from happening? any ideas? i've played with all the settings and now i feel like maybe its just from a patch or something? i verified the files and made sure my drivers were up to date. also i used the in-game thing to show my fps/ping and it checks out.

Didn't work, it would just put him onto the home screen of the Isle, I tried adding a server to "favourites" and it would just come up with server not responding no matter what the ip i put in was. I tried getting him to join me through friends but without any success

The lighting issues are just something we’ll have to deal with I think. Updating/fixing things on Legacy usually breaks other things.

From digging around, I noticed that the path /Engine/Animation/DefaultAnimCurveCompressionSettings Does not exist.

They're Missing Engine/Content/Animation. Ive tried replacing the code in the engine.ini but I have not been able to get it corrected.

Coming in for a friend here, they said that when they switched from Evrima to Legacy, after a joining a server, the UI was busted completely with the TAB player list not working, the chat not opening, the character menu also not opening, is this something experienced by others as well? At the moment they are reinstalling the game

They won't fix Legacy. They want you to play Evrima, where they're spending all their time and resource on. They want to steer people away from Legacy and introducing these kinds of bugs forces people to have to switch. It's kinda crappy that this is the case. Wouldn't be so much of an issue if Evrima was on par with Legacy, but it just isn't.

Ok here is my problem. I dont have the sharpest Fps here and evrima runs very poor for me. Then when i look back at the legacy there is this "No server found" issue that is worse than all other times it happend. I can only access some small servers on legacy but all the others are gone. I think not a lot of people expirienced this issue becouse no one is talking about it.

pls send help, i joined a server after not playing legacy for a year. I spawned in as a carno and i am sitting, i cant use any controls, escape button doesnt work, i can only roar, use nightvision and look around. My controls are all correctly set. I reinstalled the game and still the same issue. I cant even type or leave the game, i have to use the task manager. Does anyone have an Idea?

my bad lowkey, it was 4 am at the time and ended up passing out lol
try a fresh reinstall, uninstall it from steam, delete everything on your computer related to the isle, which should be the isle folder in the steamapps / common folder, and then the isle appdata folder, then reinstall
if that still doesn't work then the only other solution i've seen regarding this issue is to verify the files, if that still doesn't work then irdk TI_pue1 legacy is hella broken

Open the Steam client and use the dropdown menu in the top left of your screen (labeled "Steam") to select Settings (sometimes called Preferences). Click the "In Game" tab, and you will see an option to adjust your max pings per minute.

i manage to fix it actually,press: win+R and type %appdata%
then to actually open it press on the folder tittle on the top oft he folder name.
Then go to local,search for the isle and delete the folder called "Saved" after that i've reinstalled my game and it worked!.

Try setting the option in firewall to none. Becouse the firewall blocks out the servers

Hi hi ^^; My game has been crashing a bunch lately, something it never did prior to the recent updates to Legacy (where dryos were added back), and I've tried verifying my files and turning my graphics down, nothing worked. So, I came here last night and followed the instructions on the pinned message for how to help solve game crashes. But now, after uninstalled/reinstalling, my game won't even open and it crashes with this message D: The only thing I didn't follow through with while uninstalling is I didn't go to properties > local files > uninstall, because there wasn't an option to. But would that be enough for it to break my game like this? Really unsure of where to go from here c':
