If you are trying to host a server from in game and get a black screen, that is because of recent legacy updates. At the moment you cannot use that feature, and it is broken.

Legacy's official servers were removed when evrima first released. Unofficial servers have been left alone

Our mods say it's because there are a lot of 'spoof servers' from other countries taking up the space making it impossible to connect to ours

Up the server count in the game and find severes Online/on dsicord who are active or search on Steam and filter via the ping, depending on where you live China servers should have high ping

you could try checking if you find the servers via steam servers by going into steam right clcking "view" in the top left, game servers, make sure the filter is on for the isle and then click the search button.

Been having an issue with my keyboard not working in game. I can only use the vocal calls, walk around, and bite. When i hit tab, some outline squares appear where the chat options would be. Can't use chat, switch chat windows, or even escape the game. Ive seen people say to delete the "Saved" file in AppData, but those files don't even exist for me. I'm not at my PC so I'm not able to walk you through this exactly, sorry, but go to your file explorer, open the View settings, and make sure to enable Hidden Files. You'll probably be able to find better instructions online, but that's how to get the AppData files to appear

If u want to join a private server that isn’t really played on you will have to send a DM to the owner.

Also here’s something I got from the NB dc might help.

If servers are not showing up, first try:

1. Enable the "Hide Empty" filter
2. Then change the max search results to 5000
3. Search New Beginnings

This should work. However, if it doesn't, follow the steps below:

1. Click Steam in the top left of your Steam library.
2. Go to Settings > In-Game > click the bottom dropdown box and change your max pings to 1000. Note: You may need to play around with the best setting for you. Some players have reported 500 works better for them.

**IF that doesn't work, follow this: Open an Administrator level command prompt **

1. Type in CMD on your windows search through your computer.
2. Right click Command Prompt
3. Click Run as Admin. It'll open a black weird box
4. Type ipconfig /flushdns
5. Hit enter
6. Type netsh winsock reset
7. Hit enter
8. Reboot your computer
9. Open up The Isle

1. Click on the server you want to join
2. Scroll down to the button that says "Join this server - Steam Connect" (Make sure you have The Isle closed before clicking). This will then auto load up The Isle and boot up the server if there's a free spot.

NOTE: It seems that the server names are swapped when it comes to connecting via IP. If you try to connect to DM, it may take you to main and vice versa!

If all else has still failed, the last thing you could try is using a VPN, especially if you are an EU player

I was able to play legacy a few months ago, now after installing it again all I see are chinese servers.

Try increasing your max ping in the server browser, that could help. Otherwise, because legacy isn't updated anymore, you'll have to join a server of your choice directly. There's instruction in here on how to do it.

That's personal preference. Legacy has more playables overall, while evrima has more mechanics for the playables that are available, and more to come, since evrima is the active development branch.

I already mentioned it but one of the most important facts is that legacy will not be updated anymore. Any news updates you see about the game, be it new creatures, map and so forth, is all about evrima.

The legacy branch of the game only has community servers left which you mostly have to work a little to get on them. I've posted a solution right above your post which might help, other than that, if you'd prefer to play the active development branch, you have to switch over to the evrima branch.

The fix to my problem in the fixed messages says that I must go to TheIsle > Saved > Config > then go into the WindowsNoEditor folder to put Engine.ini there. Problem is, I go on The Isle folder and there is no Saved folder, even while showing hidden items. I tried creating the folders but it didn't fix the problem.

Maybe there's someone else who can come forward and help you with it. You could also ask in asuras discord directly, they are one of the more popular communities who still have legacy servers running, they might be more experienced.

Yep, legacy won't be updated anymore and the lack of updates makes it harder to play on the remaining servers, can't really help you with that, sorry.

-in general there should be a launch options bar

-type "+connect (Server ID)

it should load you into that server

Anyone able to help me? I used to be able to log onto the servers around the world, now I can only access the china servers PLUS Australian servers.
