The same can be said about Mutations; its main functionalities are in with bug fixes and balance values already tested. The only core mechanics still not available at this time are related to Elders, which is planned to be worked on next.

So all the mutations we will see in the near future are already in?

I think it’ll be less about containment, let the ocean do that, but more fortified human structures, like bunkers or fortresses, those could be cool, assuming gen 1 is free roaming like the dinosaurs

If they aren’t

I’d assume just normal cages or underground/enclosed structures

Limited entrances with high surveillance and security would probably be better than multiple, even if it means you have less room to run, because then you can see them coming, rather than have a gen 1 in the closet for days without ever knowing

Akin to an emergency shelter, rather than a office building

Basically, they'll do things in order to further themselves, and they have the chance to redo that as many times as they can to do that as easy as possible

As far as the specific question of "how did they lose eyes?"
Well animals in caves are known to lose their eyes. Evolutionary biologists see this in terms of a cost/benefit analysis: The metabolic cost of creating and maintaining eyes is normally very high (they are complex organs), but the benefit is usually pretty high - vision is possibly the most useful of the senses to have evolved in the history of life on earth. In fact it's so helpful, it has evolved multiple times independently, in different lineages.

And the thing is, not every cave animal loses it's eyes. If those eyes have access to any light at all, they won't lose them. It's only the species living in pitch black that typically lose their eyes. My guess is that the "Eyeless" evolved sightlessness in tandem with echolocation, as a result of living in the caves or GUTS facilities.

So perhaps standard Gen 1 are the ones that tend to stay near the surface, maybe come out at night but still see by the moon.
But the Eyeless would be deep down and probably only come out onto the surface on rare occasions (or not at all)

What I think:

if you look at everything on land, right now in-game
There's no human interaction
underground? Maybe? Potentially?
Excluding Gen1s and Gen2s, of course
we don't know when that took place
could just be a Gen2 on the island doing a sent task from AE

when Don talked about it
he just referred to it being a human
nothing specific

so we don't really have a confirmed "this is what happened"

"X" human came to change TCAMs
and then it got attacked (the 2nd TCAM)

What I think is that:

A: The island is fully abandoned and gen2s were sent by AE from a different island to gateway to complete some tasks.

Those tasks might be to interact with the dinosaurs, reactivate bases(make them operational again), or some other reason.

B: The surface is abandoned, but there are still AE employees underground working on things in operational facilities in GUTS.

Gen2s were sent out from GUTS to do various kinds of tasks. (Listed those tasks in A)

So my work environment already looks like it could be an AE lab - a cleanroom environment with bubble enclosures, everyone wearing PPE gowns, masks, hair nets, gloves, the works. And it is extra creepy today because there is minimal staff due to the holiday.
