Connected? No
Aspects? "Yeah"
do they genetically make cave men
Tribals
Nah. Not that we know of.
Tribals!!!
Tribals ain’t cavemen tho
They live in caves
Therefore they are cavemen
Don't they build small homes
It's the eyeless that really like caves
I mean the only concept art of a tribal in its environment we have, it's in a cave
But Don said they are gonna build stuff so I doubt they will be cave dwellers
No the eyeless are blind. The tribals. Gen 1. Arent
eh, uh, eh maybe
I mean, you know, best art 😊
caveman in simplicity!
AE after Dino’s weren’t enough
One day I'll return here
maybe
did the humans make the dinos or did they appear out of nowhere
human-made
^
that could explain the cannibals
the isle is already terrifying cant wait for the cannibals
looks lovely
if i see that thing it will not catch me going under mach 6
Bro playing as human is gonna be the ENTIRE Horror experience
Especially With the Creepypasta Ass Eyeless!?!?!
pretty much
cant wait to see that 2050 in evirma
Whydidym?
primal carnage T. rex is hypo the isle T. rex?
No, PC and TI are entirely disconnected now
Hyper rex has always been its own thing, iirc you're thinking of magna rex
isnt the eyeless playable?
An old clip mentioned that we won't know their real name (yet?) because it gives away the method of obtaining them
We don't know, that clip is years old and anything could have changed about them
We haven't gotten any updates on Gen 1 in a while
ah i see, any news on 6.5?
This is a channel to discuss lore
ok so whats the lore so far that we know of for evirma
(As I already posted it in Isle Discussion, I'll do so again here!)
Here is pretty much the basics
AE (Apollo Engineering) is a bio-engineering company
AE made dinosaurs. AE also made mutated (strained) dinosaurs.
This took place all around the 90s (approximate)
AE also made mutated humans
- When? Who knows, but we can presume during AE's "Prime" in the 90s (?)
- These humans are known as "Tribals"/Cannibals/Generation One
Tribals slowly went crazy and mad per cycle
Sometime later, around current modern times, AE makes Generation Two
- Generation Two are also known as "Mercs" ||just to clarify, they aren't mercenaries any longer||/Humans
There is soo much more. But some of it is speculative canon and some of it is unconfirmed canon (lore from Legacy that we don't know will be in Evrima)
i like the isle lore it’s very interesting. But what I need to know is did humans try to almost befriend the passive wildlife
passive wildlife as in the Dinos or the Modern AI?
are you still adding to the wiki?
one step at a time
but yeah, haven't done much recently as I've been away (mostly)
Yeees
( this is official lore now)
yes
I have been reading some post here. WTF is all that about Neuro rex and weather changes?
I'm so lost with all that
Oops i posted on the wrong channel, my bad
Anyways, what's the game's lore?
human makes dinosaur . dinosaur destroy human . human make humans . then i dont know
Human kill dinogod
Basically humans made dinosaurs for experimentation and I guess practice to make better humans. Dinosaurs also used for medicinal purposes. Like the strains like hyperendocrine
They also made monsters like echidna. The eyeless. And the tribals(gen 1)
What's an echidna? Like the irl animal?
No, the name comes from the Greek legend Echidna
What lunary said. Basically she is the top on the neuro strain. It's possible she probably broke herself out with the help of tribals and her children the eyeless aka the cannibals.
But none of that is yet implemented in the evrima version? Or is it related to those buildings around the map? I tend to stay away cause fear
not in, yet
the new Gateway map has a LOT more lore implications and links tho
specifically giant structures
which could potentially house some of The Isle's more unique and dangerous inhabitants
including massive domes and an indepth underground system of tunnels and facilities
Interesting tbh
Wish large parts of abandoned facilities were in evrima server
Imagine showdowns as pachy/raptors in labs or offices
that's actually something that's in gateway
you can find several offices around the island
Noice
Anybody else feel like The Isle is gonna have more supernatural and paranormal events than straight up scientific ones? Like it’s called ‘The Isle’ not ‘Apollo Engineering.’ I believe there’s something unnatural about the Island referenced in the game’s title. Also helps explain why the hell anybody would make dinosaurs.
And maybe mutate human beings?
I can understand mutated humans more. Maybe they wanted to create super-soldiers or something.
But resurrecting (or recreating) dinosaurs hardly ever makes sense.
but the humans have a cannibalistic instinct.
Super soilders doesnt seem like a good term to describe them. Id say more of "Experimental Accidents"
Especially since AE is supposed to be a pharma company.
Maybe AE intended for super soldiers but ended up getting cannibals.
So it was sort of a mishappening
Maybe
Why does anything related to genetic engineering has to be military ? Widen your scope, people
Genetic engineering is first and foremost a tool for medicine
making dinosaurs for medicine?
Also (according to old lore) it seems like the tribals weren't intended
The replicator made them by its own will
Apparently the dinosaurs are there because AE found a way to recreate them farily easily, and legally it's better to experiment on animals that don't exist rather than live ones (yeah I think this explanation is dubious)
Archosaurs in general have absurd healing properties. So yeah.
And then there's the whole strain thing
which is 100% medicine
One about an increased strength and recovery for the cost of a heightened metabolism
One about increased intellect for the cheap cost of losing your skin
One that's... honestly I do not know what tissoplastic does anymore, nobody does except maybe some in the dev team
just do away with the side effects and you got yourself a drug that everybody wants
¯_(ツ)_/¯
probably saw some ancient property ancestral to all bird's genomes
and then thought "what if we go back further and see if it is there"
but that wouldn't work considering the lania, the titanoboer and the deinosuchus
I think they got the tech to basically create any creature existing or not
And someone said "Hey I love dinos"
So they made dinos
They could have made dragons or unicorns
But they chose to make dinos because of one nerd
They did. The replicator. Though there is a price apparently
Albeit they have to be real
At least I think
Well yeah but I mean, the replicator can not make dinos only
It can also make pterosaurs, giant reptiles, mutants and idk what else
Maybe entire islands
I'm gonna say it's purely biological. Not geological.
Remember the "Region 2 - Status : Replicating" thing ?
Might be old lore but it shows it was considered
Perhaps. The replicator may be geological as well.
Oh yeah of course. But why make trbals for medicine?
I could maybe see it being an accident like, "we tested a medicine on some dudes and it turned them into orcs."
But like uh, why the dinosaurs?
As I already said, I don't think tribals were intentionnal
Yeah tribals are the least of my worries. I'm saying tribals are easier to explain. The dinosaurs are the issue.
Tribals were probably an error in the GEN2 project
the GEN1, or tribals, were defective
they turned to worship the replicator that had created them
"Maybe they created them to act as lab rats, as to test the medicine?" Why exactly? I mean plenty of companies get away with animal testing today. You telling me AE could afford to make dinosaurs but not like, a couple lawyers and some rats? Not that dinosaurs would be a good thing to test medicine on unless you're trying to cure animals that're like dinosaurs.
"Maybe they were made for the military?" Dinosaurs would not be effective in the military at all. Strains could be, but not as dinosaurs.
And I doubt they're going with the Jurassic Park route of "oh it'd be a cool park"
Whatever the GEN project is, it likely surrounds creating a perfected human
hence the greek god musculature of the GEN2
Oh yeah. Human stuff isn't the problem at all.
Or I have no problem understanding it.
I had a theory that the dinos were needed to develop some of their products
How so?
Like the strains naturally develop in the body of some extinct species only (like an extinct bacteria or virus) and they need living hosts to extract them and make things out of them (which includes giving superpowers to dinos because why not)
The 'Dinosaurs have no rights since they're extinct, therefor all testing is moral' argument?
oh nvm
I despise this argument
Actually, almost.
I knew you were lurking
Damn.
Is this the third or fourth time I have randomly done a shot in the dark that almost hits
Ignoring the "almost" and just taking it as fact, why? Like wouldn't testing on dinosaurs be useless if they're making medicine or something for humans? Wouldn't homo erectus or some other type of extinct homo species make more sense?
I mean clearly I'm missing a lot but still
¯_(ツ)_/¯
if they want to use humans, they can genetically create H. sapiens too
and if they do some fancy term for early lobotomy, they can probably justify their testing that way
Well aren’t the dinosaurs built from the ground up? Rather than the JP thing of getting Dino DNA they make them wholecloth. So I think it would be easier for them to just get some Homo sapiens DNA rather than trying to build a new species for testing
Hell, I doubt they'd need to recreate any sort of prehistoric life. Could they not just hire a lawyer or too and get away with animal testing that happens anyways in the modern day?
That would be, if they didn't have the replicator doing the work for them
Perhaps these medical strains are most common in the species they have chosen?
Tell me which is cooler
A lawyer, or DINOSAURS ?
All replicated animals have something in common (other than the humans), they are reptiles
and all but two are mesozoic
Reptiles, both of em.
and the two that aren't are squamates, rather than archosarus
Correct me if I’m wrong but the replicator would need to… replicate things? Like it needs the base to build off of right?
so there could be something there
I honestly don't know
Darn.our incredible theoryweaving foiled by just not knowing things once again!
But what's with the multiple different species then? Like let's say they create these dinosaurs as to farm a strain from them, why have some 50 different species?
It’s dope as hell?
And how the hell do you come across that?
Differing anatomies, differing metabolism, differing body sizes and overall different factors that can push them one way or another
Yeah sure but AE is a pharma company. They gotta have some type of incentive right?
think about the sheer amount of difference there is between a chimp and a human
and how closely related they are
having only 60 species is honestly quite low
to make sure that it works well on humans that is
Might actually be something like JP
In that they don't choose what dino comes out of the egg
Well wouldn't just testing it on a human make more sense?
of course, but then we have my previous argument
But all of that doesn't explain why they're trying to make them into an ecosystem
Well I think if it was JUST medicine and pharmaceuticals they could have made it a lot more sterile and cut out a lot of wastage, and seeing how they aren’t meant to be a default evil Megacorp they have to have some second motivation for dinosaurs. Maybe the CEO just thinks they’re neat?
Having these strains interact naturally
or something
Why not just introduce them into an actual ecosystem then?
Well that would destroy said ecosystem
harder to regulate artificially
they can alter the genome of their species
And AE would care? AE has a private island and can resurrect dinosaurs.
outside interference hurts results
The cool thing with the fact it's a remote island they populated themselves, is that if a hungry giant green lizard eats everything then dies at least they can start over
Like I'm saying head to the island with a bunch of normal animals and just dump them there.
That might be what they did
And the ecosystem was destroyed
That is what they are doing tho isn’t it? I mean we have the modern prey animals on the island,so that could be what they did
Right, so why the dinosaurs?
"Perhaps these medical strains are most common in the species they have chosen?"
BECAUSE DINOS ARE COOL AND DONDI IS A FAN OF JURASSIC PARK
That's why
Right but just have a bunch of the one species.
Could be the dinosaurs go particularly well with the strains,we know that implantation can fail due to the mentions of failed projects with the human samples and deaths
Also, aren't the animals not actual resurrected dinosaurs but instead their recreation of dinosaurs? Like from the ground up and stuff? The strains wouldn't come from them being dinosaurs but instead from how they're being created.
Different factors in different species. There's so much to take into account.
You can't have the sample size of a singular species.
Especially considering you are experimenting with 3 (4) strains at the same time
As I wrote earlier, they may not be able to decide which species they're creating
So they just created a lot of them and ended up with 60 species
H - Hyperendocrine
N - Neurotenic
T - Tissoplastic
(O) - I have no clue
Yeah the dinosaurs aren’t actually dinosaurs they just aesthetically look like them, hence the omniraptor and obligatory paleological inaccuracy that comes from us not knowing what they really looked like
Maybe they were designed with testing the strains in mind?
Right but why are they making some 50 different species to test on when those 50 different species are nothing like humans?
Because when tested on humans, they become 9ft tall monstrocities with murderous tendencies, while the dinosaurs stay relatively similar I suppose
they are fine tuning them until they fully understand the strains, only to then use them in medicine
Don't the dinosaurs also become much larger monsters?
That's when the strain fully activates, but they all appear to have the strains lying dormant within them
So you're saying an inactive strain in a human would get you a tribal?
Humans become the colossus or echidna, much more dangerous than a hypo omni or carno
¯_(ツ)_/¯
perhaps the strains themselves can not be dormant in humans
Maybe it gets the feral cannibals
and only in reptiles meeting specific conditions
they just have to fine tune them until they can cram them into your average joe
And make sure it doesn’t turn into a kaiju
Right but how does testing a strain on 50+ reptilian species from 70 million years ago (kinda) help you understand how those strains effect humans or figure out how to make them work for other animals?
I have explained this before, it feels like you aren't listening to me
Because the strains are a misnomer, they aren’t microscopic, they are tissue that gets implanted. This is why echidna was a big deal, all the previous people died
Find strains -> Find what animals strains do not work on -> Find the animals the strains work on -> figure out why the strains work on them -> modify the strains with gene technology -> Try again
Plus find what animals become untenable to test on,maybe mammals have an enhanced reaction to the strains, not just humans
Mammals just suck at adapting sometimes
while some chad crocodile just randomly lives with 48 tumours, a ripped off jaw and three front limbs and survives to the ripe old age of 37
But in this case they could adapt too well, the killing machine deinosuchus is dangerous sure but in comparison to a colossus that used to be a little ape fellow, not so much. Plus imagine if you took meds from a pharmacy and turned into a kaiju, they would get so many one star reviews
I would leave a 5-star review
"I came here looking for meds for my coughing and now I'm throwing skycrapers at people for fun.
And my coughing is gone."
They just switch the advertising and put on the bottom of the bottle “warning:causes munchies”
Easy lab rats to see and test, less rights (and from Don, only some) and portray that you (the company) can both create life and perfect life
We have no idea of what she properly does, just that she rewards Tribals
But it could be replication as in "seeing a creature existing
and recreating"
Or lines of genetic code and replicating, although I believe that's more of synthesising?
Lore nerds!
Is the replicator of confirmed human origin?
it would. I believe it's AE that makes the base structure, or blueprint, feeds it to the replicator, then the replicator simply recreates that blueprint in an efficient manner
It's a machine and is at least owned by AE, I'd be surprised if it wasn't created by humans
there's nothing to indicate that it wasn't
except the nigh magical properties it has
I thought someone said it was some form of alien tech?
I’d guess it’s human made and simply got out of control, seems to fit the theme
But alien origin would be interesting
I believe there is someone inside the replicator
Either a full-on person, a brain, or just a soul (if we go the spiritualist route that is)
I believe the replicator is an AE made machine that's been sort of 'possessed' or corrupted by the island.
I doubt the islands have anything to do with it. Perhaps the replicator been hijacked
There's one very valid subject for who did it
Echidna go brrr
Idk if im convinced the replicator could be purely human in origin
The idea that AE has the tech to create such a device and then lose complete control of just doesn't sit right with me
And paranormal ghosts of the island and some super AI. Are.
Imo
Dumb
This is @acoustic osprey 's lair
Get out of here before he notices you
Same
Losing complete track of it sounds right actually.
But I also prefer the idea that the island itself is strange in of itself.
Okay
Granted aliens or something isn't much more grounded
You guys ever watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2? Replace the food with dinosaurs and that's my headcanon.
Cloudy with a chance of spinosaurus Aegypticus
Yeah basically.
Yeah but apart from aliens and humans, there aren't much things out there who can build machines, let alone sentient ones
Actually raw idea
Like I imagine the replicator is just pumping out dino after dino.
Let alone in the 90's.
i was about the make the exact same comparison but with the first film.
you know how at first he has complete control, but after replicating so much the food begins to build around the machine and eventually he loses control?
come to think of it actually, that franchise is pretty much exactly what's happening here.
Mhm. I was just using the second one as a comparison given that it's set on an island. The machine itself sorta at the core of the island almost acting like a heart.
Yeaa
Idk the idea
I'd hope to see
Is like
Salvaged alien tech found in some archaeological dig
That's then reverse engineered into what will become the replicator
the replicator
I would actually like it if there was no explanation for the Replicator. Like, AE found it there, but they never found who built it. And no one will ever know.
I know it sounds cheap, but unanswered questions are often much better than questions with a bad answer
I like the idea that the island (The Isle) is sort of alive with the replicator as it's heart or brain.
Primal Carnage/Phoenix International is no longer connected to the game's lore
Ok
Hello there
Hi
Nothing, as per Super, Hope. has basically no correlation to Isle's current lore and should only be viewed as a possible route for few theories
Honestly to me, the islands weirdness can be explained by ae tech gone loopy
Like stuff that thanks to no repair has gone wacky
Yea this is still the best replicator analogue there is
Can’t believe the isle copied cloudy with a chance of meatballs
I don’t think you should be self quoting around here…
I will self quote (I need to subtlety prove I made the reference first)
Cloudy with a chance of meatballs and it's sequel is actually just The Isle but with food instead of dinosaurs.

am stupid what the hell is GUTS
Generic Underground Transport System
Basically the whole tunnel/underground system for Gateway
do we have anything on what was/is Tartarus
He's the guy from Berserk.
We have theories
id love to hear yall ramble abt them if you can
uh
well, we have confirmation Tartarus exists within Gateway
Gateway being the gateway to Tartarus
Not sure what the most recent conversation about it was but last time I was here we were guessing something about it possibly being catastrophic
Now that I’m looking at the glance sheet again the bottom does kinda have a gate looking thing infront of it
Then, looking at the glance sheet for GUTS (presumably of Gateway, no confirmation)
We can observe broken lines from multiple "sites/designations" falling down to a certain "section" that splits off into three different parts
This being a network diagram, there is a possibility the broken lines mean "change in altitude"
And seeing as it's literally down, I and others have theorised that it could be literally routes/tunnels of GUTS that go down to Tartarus
The three "parts/sections" below it, if true, could be Hyper/Neuros/Tissos
Glance Reference sheet*
Network graph!!!
I was correcting myself
However, no confirmation or (iirc) a word/statement on it by Don whenever I have brought it up here
You have 3 seconds
I’m now going to act like I was correcting you
NOOOO
Guesses for these blanks then
the bottom ones?
Si
guessing, if Tartarus, likely the three strains
and their separate divisions for research, safe bet
I was thinking the same and one of the two blanks right above could be “Tartarus”
yes
where it comes Tartarus
?
what is that
No confirmation on what is specifically is
But going over what is Apollo Engineering, you can guess one of a few different possibilities
It being a facility/facility section
a prison/holding cell(s)
a region/section that is neither a facility nor prison but holds something
and is within Gateway
It is named after Tartarus, from Greek Mythos
Which was an underground prison
It held multiple Gods, notably the Titans
Such as Kronos
I know probably everyone else has seen this but I was re-reading the galli page and just noticed “the feathered ones didn’t do this” potentially meaning there is a subspecies of more docile gallis and a more aggressive version, idk if this counts as lore but I didn’t know where else to put it
Idk what they're talking about. Legacy gallis were monsters.
They were monsters. But they weren't omnivores
legacy ones weren't feathered
they're canonically also monsters
There were feathered ones in legacy
in the early days maybe
It was for a couple years at least. Like til 2018 I wanna say.
Wasn't until survival was around for a bit.
The 2015 to 2017 model was
Huh. Interesting that the assumption is that the TSL models are canon, then.
Likely not
Seeing as Don said to not link other things with The Isle
However, to note, they did/used to own the licensing (rights) to some of the models
ST apparently
(wrong channel)
Write that down boys!
okay my theory might be pretty suvck because i only started
what is these mutated guys aka cannibals are same tribalsmen but under the experiments of apollo engineers
I understand nothing. But it's a cool name nonetheless
More greek things
For what it's worth. Deimos was the God of Panic. Phobos was the God of Fear. (They're also the names of Mars's two moons)
And if you are going off of GOW. Deimos is the brother of kratos
Note, I just woke up lol
I believe it's in reverse, although they have been often confused as the other quite easily
Hmmm...so reading that conversation made me think. In Jewish folklore, aren't one of the reasons Golems are brought to life is to be protectors? Could the Greek names reference only AE creations, where the Golem is referencing the replicator sacrificing tribals to create a new "Golem" for it's own protection? Like say against the dinos on the island or against AE trying to destroy it?
Working backwards, I don't think that the dinosaurs being "against Apollo" makes much sense, as they are simply animals.
And the Golem nomenclature along with the Greek was a combined title, not really to be considered separate, as implied by the full message Don sent, it appears to be an ID for an active test or project by AE, not likely one leading into the other for vice-versa.
And Golems being protectors is kinda a modern fantasy trope, not necessarily actual mythological lore. So most likely Golem is in reference to the creation process as assumed by "trials" and the aforementioned project ID.
Although it is a very interesting connection to make to the replicator, although when the ID would have been made, the replicator would likely still just be a tool for Apollo, assuming it does go rogue in the end.
Also something I forgot to mention to Light, GOLEM, since it's in all caps, could very well be an acronym, same as DEIMOS, although less likely.
These are all great points. It just seemed weird to include two ancient civilizations together in the naming of the project/test. Especially when almost everything is normally Greek.
I was wondering about DEIMOS being an acronym for sure. I wonder if any of the letters are the same as something like GUTS which is just an acronym and not related to actual guts or anything historical
Also here is both messages for archival purposes.
Also there is a distinct possibility, however unlikely, that the m8 could be something other than just an abbreviation of mate.
Weird that the m wouldn't be capitalized though
Very true, unless it's a delineation
Although that's a bit of a stretch, thought it would be worth tossing out there
wowie the isle lore?
ikr
ong

First things first
GOLEM is an acronym
Second, the only thing I found relating to Ceti what a epidermal growth hormone
That leads me to thing of things like the robot quetza we saw in the quetz concept art
I know it's flimsy, but it's all I got.
Don't forget, Golem isn't a thing
As if a "Golem" trial for Tribals
Well it might not be
As it isn't a clear dotted acronym
nah they are just testing if tribals can defeat an iron golem from minecraft
(wow i'm so funny)
And electro magnetics wouldn't make sense for Tribals
Real!!
in all seriousness, isn't it possible that golem is more of a codename for something? Like Alphonse is/was Quetz
and the -ceti would be a sub-something
possibly a way of identifying which is which
That's what i'm thinking
or, the ceti part that @lethal moat had IS correct, so it's testing codename "Golem" with the epidermal growth hormone
just my thoughts
If it's god of panic, possibly neuro tribals to scare normal tribals away from bases
i'm thinking it's a colossus
wait epiderm is skin right?
possibly a plant
epidermis is a plant part

Epidermis is the top layer of skin
Ok, what discussion do the devs respond to stuff in?
And there is one plant monster concept from really early in the isle
look wikitionary told me what i said
Ight
Fear, not panic
My idea still applies
I don't think epidermal growth would be very fitting for Tribals, which grow up to roughly ~8ft
but I'm not sure where you got that reference for, for Ceti?
more growth of the epidermis would just result in hyperkeratosis (which just means an excessive growth of the top layer of skin. Nothing resulting in being super tall)
And seeing as it's in reference to Tribals
Colossus is a possibility- but this seemed more in relation to Tribals in general
Could be a trial for Tribals to see if specific assets are capable of a higher placement?
Depends on Tribals and their relation to AE
- Maybe this is how Eyeless were created. Maybe Eyeless were originally designed as bodyguards, by AE, for something; The Replicator? Something in Tartarus? Or just being "Tribals but more specialised for whatever reason"
in the end, it's a buzz word that we'll have to look for in the future
and something I'm gonna put down in the document
Well, Golem is just a folktale
to which is embedded very heavily in modern society
We also can see the relation to the "Tree of Life" ||Whatever it's called in Judaism|| with the Network Graph sent late last year
Maybe we get new llore with new dinos?\
always, although I presume like the rest in P3
tinier crumbs than anything else
Learning about these buzz words now are very good though
Got it
so we know what to look
(but not to forget, red herrings always exist. Always be alert for the unknown)
I am curious to see if they reactivate olympus transmitter when gateway comnes out
I do wonder
Well, we know from ERRANT-291, that Olympus Transmitter was offline
but how recent is that from "current time period"? Who knows
Peresonal theory: Neuro got employee to try to reactivate transmitter to bring in more food
Which neuro
I don't think it matters to the theory, but we only really know enough about the spino
Personasl thought
I'd say more of Echidna trying to lure people
As we know she can replicate human voices she has heard before
Imagine if it was more interpreted like a siren, capable of mimicking only voices it heard. The distress signals that come from the short-range communication on the island, and the voices heard in transmissions are from already deceased individuals that are now being used as lures.
Probably more likely
Shame to know that all the old transmissions from Olympus are not canon
I like the idea of the Echidna being sort of like a lyre bird and mimicking noises that aren’t always human. So if the Echidna hears an audio broadcast with poor audio quality, the Echidna would replicate that poor quality.
Or alternatively mimicking noises that aren’t even humans talking. Like maybe it would mimic gunfire and screams at the same time.
better version of Troodon mimicry, more scary
Mimicry in all it's forms is going to up the fear in the game 10 fold
lol
Then there is going to be the sparring system, which could be extremely dangerous for everyone involved
Kinda like the lore
The question is though, is apollo engineering it's own entity or is it government backed?
Do we know or have any theory as to why Echidna would want to lure people in in the first place?
Yummy, thats why
Who knows

Something is telling me it's prolly either Replicator related or for like.....a "project." Like using the victims for something.
Ok, whaqt exactly is the replicator? I've seen it mentioned a lot, but I dojn't know what it is
Spooky god-AI that can replicate things like creatures.
She replicates things
Possibly even environments based on an old Region 2 teaser. Back when it was "acquired" and gonna be put into the map. Mentioned something about replicating it.
I know that whole teaser is irrelevant now, but the LORE
I don't see that mentioned much and it interests me a ton.
Because if she can replicate environments, that opens up all sorts of weird things. Artificial biomes n' such.
I still want to know how she replicates stuff though. Like.....is it a big KF2-style meat grinder that just splurts out creatures? O_o
Grind up useless meat, make it into useful meat, ship it out
So is it a machine or a living thing?
Machine......pretty sure.
Think GLaDOS but scarier. Even then though, we don't know what her physical form is like. Could be a body, could just be a program.
Me personally I think it would be better as just a program that outsmarted it’s own creators and is just chilling at the bottom of some lab
if you pretend living thing as "AI"
AI =/= Machine
but Replicator? Definitely AI
But likely has the capability to control her "body" (machine)
and, possibly, other machines
Depends on how that would be done
Done through simple "electricity" is pretty cliche
Is Omniraptor a name with meaning
Omni means partial, so some of its DNA is of dromeosaurids, but due to its name and visual appearance I think the rest may be filled in with the dna of varanids (monitor lizards)

Omni means "all"
So omniraptor is a mix of every raptor
Ah
Doesn’t explain why it’s got no feathers though..
Sticking to the varanid hypothesis
Combined with raptor dna
Plus if Omni means all then there is a possibility that varanids were filling the gaps anyway which would explain omnis lack of feathering
patrial?
Doesn't need to have feathers to be an "all" raptor
It comes down to how AE want Omniraptor to be, within it's ecosystem. And a feathered raptor (animal), especially one that seems constantly active within a tropical environment doesn't sound suited to be a feathered creature
Food, or something else which i'll explain here
Nerds
true
And the fact there is the theory that Ae’s creations are just gene splices that look like dinosaurs but share no actual dna with them
Did AE have goverment funding from the U.S
When you combine that many genomes together things would get somewhat funky
Nope but they're a big pharma company
for mini-lore document purposes: what are the atriums and their purposes for why they were built? such as what do they house?
We're not too sure who or what funds them
Sure, they might be a medicinal-based company
But their RnD stuff might be funded by someone or something
I think the GOLEM is a R/D section that is censored in the incident report
the aviaries/domes are likely home to certain R/D and/or certain facilities/housing ||animals/tribals/dinos||
Could be
Although I say less a "R/D" and more a trial within a R/D Facility
Where it could relate to something about "DEIMOS project"
I was thinking GOLEm facility, cetri section, and Deimos is what was being worked on
I don't think it'll be called GOLEM facility
DEIMOS is the project name
And GOLEM-Ceti is the trial name
Unless, to what you're liking referring to, is that "GOLEM - Ceti trial" could be:
A Trial that is tested at a place called "GOLEM" and a place called "CETI" or within "GOLEM" called "Ceti" (Cetus section/Cetea section, etc)
I really want to know what is under all that censorship
And yes, I agree with that last bit
however, for me, I don't believe this is the case
or at least, strictly the case
We all do!!!
I HOPE so
It would be very cool
very so
Interactable papers used as nesting materials lol
lol
No idea, probably before I got here
ngl I dont care if this lore isnt put into the game I still want scraps of it bc its so very epic
Half a year ago roughly
transmitters lore?
anything really
Well, we have some sort of mini basis of current "canon" lore
hopefully we see something in Gateway
Rather than just "we have GUTS tunnels, that's enough lore for you!"
fr like give me more
what if the deletion date of the account is when AE lost connection with the transmitter
or when its connection was lost
Could have been
But transmitter is no longer canon
I mean the old transmissions
They gone, but we might be able to reactivate it
Yes
New theory
dondi is actually fake and we are all subject to an entire plot
a plot to trap us in a hivemind of slaves that ends up being put towards making the real version of The Isle
do we know why Apollo engineering made the dinosaurs and other creatures
the most likely reason is to do with medicine, like AE was a pharma company
I thought phoenix corp was pharmaceutical
And what does that have anything to do with dinosaurs
idk its the isle, its always confusing
Phoenix corp is gone
lore wise? or like they just left primal carnage lore to make their own lore?
Gone feel lore
Alongside anything related to Primal Carnage
That’s sad it was really interesting
gone
Does anyone have a youtube video covering the isle lore im just curious
There are old videos
I have not made a proper video yet
But you can check the pinned messages to get the general gist
And I have a copypasata as well
I don’t understand what y’all mean by the isle “lore” it’s a game right? How does it have lore because I’ve never seen anything about the lore of the isle can anyone explain??
All video games, give or take, have lore
Whether it just be subtext for the game's balance, design and art style
Or a whole "story"
Being a narrative-driven game
What?? I didn’t mean any offense I just wanted to ask if anyone could explain the lore.
He was just explaining what lore meant, he wasn't trying to be rude lol
I never said he was rude though?
From what I can tell, the lore seems to be inspired by Jurassic Park
I said no offense that’s all I said
AE makes dinosaurs for medical purposes ? using the replicator
thats the base line
the rest is pretty much just all theories
okay well that’s what I wanted to hear ty.
Really?
I thought the replicator was something to do with human conscious in dinosaurs
hm thats interesting
it does make sense tho
i wonder if this is actually true
I’m pretty sure I heard it somewhere it was in the legacy days so I don’t remember that well
Yep, Phoenix, Primal Carnage, Magnas, all gone
Sir dondi severed ties with them a long time ago
Damn why would they do that just because they scrapped legacy doesn’t mean the lore can’t stay?
I really hated magnas so no shed tears from me
It's mostly because the people of primal carnage were being not too nice. So dondi severed ties
It was before the recode iirc
Yea I’ve heard the drama surrounding dondi and primal carnage
And that is why we aren't getting any of the magna strains
Even hypos/the other 2 weird ones whatever they were called
Ok that’s nice to hear atleast
And a "Type-O"
What happened to hypo?
Nothing. It's just called hyper
Type H is technically hyper. Since they are the hyperendocrine.
Everyone has just called them hypo
Hypoendocrin is just incorrect, since it implies something that would be smaller, weaker and have a slower metabolism, basically the opposite of a hyper
See I could have sworn it was called hypoendocrin
The correct terminology is hyperendocrin
True
It's just something that caught on, even if it's incorrect
I thought the endocrine part was something for bone growth. But also I figured out its just the boosting of every single endocrine gland
Yep
Wait a minute. If every single endocrine system is cranked up to 11. Wouldn't that mean that the hypers are more susceptible to autoimmune diseases?
Probably, we'll never tell because they die too fast from starvation anyways
Mostly due to their metabolism being through the roof thanks to the...pancreas iirc
I like the idea that each strain has a unique glaring weakness, hope neuros and tissos also have unique flaws
No wait the thyroid
It's why I despised magnas. No weakness, just better
The hypers have hyperthyroidism
Thanks I’ll watch it
https://isle.fandom.com/wiki/Hyperendocrin_Colossus
Is this what tribals going to be ?
is this collossus thing related to the Golem smthing that the dev said ?
Colossus being related to Golem sounds interesting 😮
Golems are made to protect I'm pretty sure. And I remember something about "The Replicator is not without it's protectors".
Giant gator ape man would definitely be a good body guard
Though the whole protectors thing makes me wonder if the Replicator is very vulnerable by itself. Like "lmao just pull the power plug"
🔌
fUNNY
it says colossus is made when a human get injected with the type H strain. so i thought maybe tribals became colossus maybe ? or at least some of them.
your gonna be eating good
Being that it's called GOLEM-ceti
A trial to see if specific Tribals can be taken to be tested for the Hyperendcrin strain
Old lore though
We have no description for colossus at the moment, that is canon
@acoustic osprey your gonna be eating good with these
Yum
With the ocean picture alone it gives us a lot of insight on the environment and even the species or future playable species.
What if the Omniraptors are just little Chris Pratts running around murdering everyone?
I highly doubt that
he was jonkering little weasel
Yes
The space in between updates is determined by the amount of time it would take to add the dinosaur to a real life habitat
not sure if this has been discussed tbh but AE would have it’s animals patented right? As well as the process of making them correct?
Most likely. I mean only Æ knows that they make them.
Then AE would have all authority to do whatever it wants to these animals ethical or not
Considering the fact that the hypers neuros and tisso exist? Yea I think ethics are out the window
I’m aware I’m just pointing it out because a lot of people have asked why AE would go through the trouble of creating dinosaurs just to use for testing
fr why can't AE just blow up the strains if there was a breach
if its owned by the US, or partnered, im assuming the US would decide to be petty and wouldn't waste their precious funds on non-oil related things
Isnt the story that the isle is what jurrasic world should have been but it sbeen abandoned for hundreds of years leaving the species dinosaurs to puplate and expand throughout the island?
If you invested $300,000,000 in three dinosaur strains, one is missle proof and one can send it back, and one is too fast, it's hard. The worst monsters are the ones we make.
It is not owned by the usa.
It is simply a company
..understandable ig
poetic
I mean its likely they more made the hypers for pharmaceutical reasons
Since the full name is hyperendocrine
Endocrine is a growthhormone, it is what makes it big\
Endocrine is a body system that produces hormones through the body
Growth is one of them
It's definitely not for military reasons
For all we know, the EMP may not even be intended. Could just be a result of weird genetic.....ness. 😛
its nothing to do with the military
dondi said this for a fact
Alright then
Well, who knows if N Spino will have emp
It's one of the few confirmed things, it's so strong it effects the nervous systems of creatures near it.
No, that's for legacy
For all we know
There wont be any "individual" special things for certain playable strains
All Hypers = Strong and short lived through hunger
All Neuros = Whatever they have
All Tissos = Whatever they have
Also, this is just my own assumption, each strain has a massive drawback that makes them too unstable to commercialise (remember, AE is a medicinal company). Hypers were a success in increasing physical power, but came at the cost of insanely rapid starvation. Based on the visuals of neuros and tissos, I doubt they're flawless projects either.
Oh definitely
Each should
Hypers, AT THE VERY LEAST, have their own major downfall
If they're not going to do anything for Neuros and Tissos
At least Hypers have their big one
Each mutation does seem to be based on some kind of desire that a consumer would inevitably want. Hypers develop growth and strength, and if perfected, could create healthier, stronger bodies with excellent healing to help them resist injury and disease.
Neuros help develop the mind, leading to greater intelligence and mental health. Could act as a way to help solve more neural-based diseases, such as dementia, as well as increasing overall intellect.
Tissos, while we know very little about them, are a bit more difficult to pin down. Their design is about stealth and agility, which the average consumer wouldn't really need. Then again, the vagueness of tissos beyond "stealthy" means theories won't be super productive atm.
We can guess Tissos might be onto about "Tissue"
So skin
However, in what sense that is desirable? Who knows
Skincare and beauty, possibly
Could be purely a vanity thing, due to the whole "change how you look"
A pharmaceutical like AE is one I wouldn't doubt has dabbled in beauty products
lol
Which would be an excellent third thing tbh
Physical strength and health
Intelligence and solutions to neural problems (fixing broken pathways in the nervous system or brain, curing disabilities and more)
Beauty products that can fundamentally alter a user's appearance with ease, without the need for surgery, which would be desired out of the sheer fact that people want to look good
All of this would be extremely sought after
especially since they seem to making "perfect humans"
and playing God
Trying to create products (create tests) that allow the user to become "better" in any way would be highly sought after
The endgoal is def "perfect humanity"
Gen 1 and Gen 2 prove that, especially since Gen 2 exists out of how much Gen 1 was a complete failure and disappointment. They wanted ACCURATE humans.
They still likely saw success (at least, something worth while) with Tribals
Although it begs the question, are the colossus, mastermind and (maybe) reaper made from gen 1s or gen 2s, and how exactly do the eyeless fall into it?
I assumed that the eyeless were the offspring of the mastermind, but IDK
I'm presuming only Replicator could truly "make" something like Eyeless
Guessing maybe a/the reward you get for sacrificing things to her
Eyeless being made from her for Echidna
Well tisso means tissues, and plastic tends to mean like, changable
I figured those ones were bog standard humans they tested on and stuff went horribly wrong
Probably due to Dino dna splicing since all 3 have traits the strains don’t tend to give
wdym?
Like colossus has a more archosaur like head and croc scales, when based on the hyper Dino’s they don’t change the frame all that much, same with him having a tail and full on claws, not sharpened fingernails
Echidna has archosaurian feet and 2 massive claws for hands, yet neuros most of the time just make a host super skinny and without eyes
And reaper got scrapped but nothing about him looked human aside from the base frame
Like my theory is that the strains they used on the titans were contaminated with dinosaur dna, probably rex for colossus, raptor for echidna, and idk what would lead to bat reaper
Couldn't they find a way to decrease thyroid activity so the metabolism doesn't make them die in mere hours
The mastermind. You mean echidna correct?
both work
Fair. I just like to use echidna
Likely echidna being as smart as she is. Maybe highjacked the replicator
maybe, but its implied the replicator has some kind of sentience itself
Echidna is smart. And most likely convinced it to work with her
either that, or both are in on the same plan because it benefits them both
Echidna might be considering the replicator as her mother...
I mean. Their plan is to keep the island alive as it keeps both of them alive. So there's that
That...makes too much sense
I don't think the island itself is at risk?
I think more they desire freedom from AE
Its at risk of being retaken
By Æ.
It would mean a return to servitude.
And experimentation.
No sentient and sapient being wants that. And judging by her parental role as shown her giving a BEAR HUG to an eyeless. She is very attached to them
(She might actually be eating that eyeless but yeah)
I doubt that. Considering she is called their mother
And there's a little heart over her hugging the eyeless
@strange shell a little heart
Oh
Never noticed it
Well it seems eyeless doesn't like actual motherly hugs
"Mom you're embarrassing me"
Well they're also blind
Likely accidentally got snuck up on.
Isn't really scrapped
I meant more like. It’s old design did
Who knows
anyone bold enough to make a lore for utah change to omni? XD
It's very shrimple. Dabbling in splicing and mixing genetics. They decided to mix majority utahraptor dna with velociraptor and other dromaeosaurids. This resulted in mutations such as defeathered.
And pronated wrists
This art is unofficial
Well, being hyperendocrin
I presume they either thought about it- but couldn't specifically do so
Or they tried, but it was too late before they could do so
I mean
It's nothing crazy. Omni means all, just it's likely that omniraptor is a fictional dromaeosaurid AE made that took inspiration from multiple other dromaeosaurids
Didn't tapwing make it?
There are a lot of unofficial art by Tap
being that she did a lot before she was hired
Aw.
any theories of whatever Codename Hades is? I know it's been mentioned a few times by the Olympus Transmitter if im correct
or the hades protocol idk if those are different things
does anyone know when the isle takes place?
Recent times I believe
Anything from old Olympus Transmitter is no longer canon
mk 😮
yeah but like how recent? 1980s? 2010s?
More rrecent than that, I believ the island was abandoned somepoint in the 90s
its always the 90s
What's the deal with genetic engineering?
?
just reading old, old discussions that included Don
bro has so many lab rats right here
like, he has built an empire of mystery, and we are just VERY slowly unearthing it, and he gets to watch all of it
no idea if that makes sense but ::
literally though 😿
Isn't that map very outdated 😮
I believe all the markers are fan-made/placed except for maybe the domes as well
that map is old asf
still, I think there's a chance some things in it would still be /somewhat/ relevant
def not
mountains arent even there
oh lol I didnt even realize that 💀
Which ones
I'm guessing, from where it was and when it was taken, that it was a rough from the Devs. Uses in game tile textures and everything
Buildings were likely added on top either by them, roughly from an artist or friend of the Devs (or QA member) to give a rough idea of the placement of buildings
I don’t like how port is so far off
Likely isn't a port and more so a research facility
Maybe even part of or near to Poseidon Entry
If that's still going to that (that research facility)
what if the isle is like an Ark: Survival Evolved scenario, where you aren't even on earth and the planet is extinct, so the survivors started over again from the beginning and created life?
It is not the case. We are on earth
No
Earth (?)
What's with the ?
...we may not be on earth.
we might not be
No confirmation
Unless...?
Scour the umbril planes for information
i reckon the map is just an island in the pasific or something like isla nublar and isla sorna like in jw/jp
Unless the Dondi Twitter!!!
Dondi has Twitter
THE ISLE LORE ARCHIVE PROJECT Thank You to HellShade and Sprinkles for helping to contribute to this! - Buder This Google Doc was started as a collaboration between Buder, HellShade and Sprinkles, in order to have a place to archive newer lore clues after Taterfi’s website (check for additio...
I forgot about this
is it even accurate anymore
Yes and no
are the writers active still?- I think I remember smth abt Hellshade- and Sprinks? maybe somebody that starts with a d-
The ones relating to primal carnage are no longer canon btw
is any of tap's stuff canon /whatsoever/? like, any tiny lil scrap of the matriarch stuff?
Artwork she's made before being hired is generally considered non-canon for the most part.
mk, just wanted that confirmed
Not any more
Oof
That's why I have created mine now
Hell Shade is still relatively active, but that doc is more of an archive compared to "up to date lore"
...and as it seems half the map again has no water source...
there is little issue with this
There is a lot of issue with this
especially comparing with how I experienced Gateway
Water was fine
it is not
At least, it's done a lot better than Spiro
As someone who played on Gateway, water was not that huge an issue, if anything, it was more bountiful than Spiro by a good margin
Spiro has entire spans of dead zone with zero food and zero water
Of what i see the entire south west half of this map has no water. Or is there somethin i miss? id guess the water on the beach is not drinkable?
That map isn’t really accurate to the experience actually playing it, don’t worry about it
swamp
there is a large swamp section
That map is old and very unreliable for all/most geographical locations
Apparently said swamp is also a river delta.
No it's not
The River Delta is on the east side of the map
Oh. That sounds cool
yes
island walker
tf is island walker
.
exactly
Although, I don't believe we ever got HARD confirmation on what it was exactly
is it still currently canon whatsoever?
It was a crazy long time ago
And is likely not coming back to Evrima
ahk
the last proper mention of it (like so many others) came from many years past
mhmm. regular case of discarded while Don tries to fit the puzzle pieces together
only things properly confirmed characters/things from Old Lore (from the top of my head):
Replicator
Echidna
Colossus
Reaper (Need to find the statement from Don, unsure what he said exactly)
oh colossus and reaper r canon now
Tribals and Gen2s (unsure how heavy we can refer back to Olympus tweets)
Eyeless aren't hard confirmed
there was a statement about Tissos and Reapers
I believe, I still need to find the statement, that Reaper is still back- or at least Tissos are not going
now that we've brough the topic of other respective strains
tf happened to o>m thingamobob]
nothing afterwards
ik magnas defo aint canon anymore, dropped that sh a while ago
We're still in the heavy speculation stage on that one
yippee im finally at the beginning of SOME lore development
GOnna be a long time though ::
(And if you're curious: #isle-discussion message)
Discord is the easiest way to communicate over voice, video, and text. Chat, hang out, and stay close with your friends and communities.
and just scrolling up, you see Don's statement last year about Tribals
it's crazy to think we've just gotten one statement about Tribals officially
From Kissen
from the last (2nd last, I believe) devblog
We have little to no idea on what they are
besides they're no ordinary human
didnt yall have some discussion in like 2020 abt pharm purposes for different Strains
could be smth like that
A few months back
I believe July
prob
and Don said to Dalt, who made the speculation, that it was a very very close theory that hit the target
I've guessed that yes they're (at least were) for medicinal reasons
but the specifics Dalt gave? Wrong/close but wrong
also wtf could hyper/hypo trees be used for (pharm purposes)
Hyper Trees?
Who knows
If you find a way to single out certain hormones
You can get some very large plants, with large nutritional values
there were pictures going around abt hyper trees 🍴
You could, without the funny selfish desire of capitalism within "doing the greater good", solve/help world hunger
ye and then the tree would suck up all the water/nutrients
Excluding issues it could cause to the ecosystem
Depending on how you would conduct such thing internationally
drought? hyper trees! infertile soil for eighteen miles? HYPER TREES!
entire forests dying because of one gigantic hungry hungry hippo? HYPER TREES!!!
that's the thing
Finding the right balance
Practically an ecosystem killer
Bigger things need bigger prey
But, AE definitely wanted to try their luck
I'm guessing why it's very hard to do all of it.
Likely trying to play not just with growth/size hormones, but others as well
but, realistically speaking, practically impossible if they're trying to solve world hunger
Unless Don want's to go "Fantasy Sci-fi" and just allow it to work (or at least, the realistic downsides don't apply because "sci-fi science")
but, currently, we're not sure how Don is orientating The Isle's "lore" style
Realistic Sci-fi?
Fantasy/Unrealistic Sci-fi?
Who knows
it might
I hope it does
I just hope it's not as cliche as Magnas seemed
Although, great backstory for them in old lore
instead of stupidly interlocked Phoenix Co., if only Don made another company to rival AE
horror sci-fi
no no, in terms of actual sci-fi worldbuilding
oh mk
horror sci-fi would be how the game is orientated towards gameplay and actual gameplay design
if so
I wonder if it'd be "God-orientated" as well ||Like a certain other someones I know||
Like AE - Greek Mythos
"Rival Company" - Anc. Egyptian Mythos or Norse Mythos
unsure
PLEASE 🥺 I love norse/egypt mythology 🥺
Although I can imagine a Rival Company being more Roman
Would be very interesting to see
OH I KNOW ITS H.R. GIGER
especially from a story-point view
A "new" company, maybe even an off-shoot cadet branch of AE, that is basically just AE but more modernised
more sterile and seems to be more efficient
giger's the one that created the xenomorphs from Alien
rouge AE
Although, i'm pretty sure that's a movie cliche from the 2010s
but it'd still be interesting
interesting
rouge AE = john hammond
lol
Peter Ludlow
honestly, if they're going to keep this amazing vibe/feel to AE buildings
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1003091745984233563/1103137700095209532/IMG_6551.png
I would love, for something important, having the stark contrast of a building/facility being all bright white
scp.
I know it's a pretty common trope within "Sci-fi"
but something about the juxtaposition of the damp, dead feeling from those artworks
flipped around with the one building with clean white
we got the 12 olympians facility theory, lets go through the possibilities of the other company/rouge AE's facility names/codenames
I'd imagine something akin to Tartarus (if Tartarus turns out to be a VERY undisclosed sort of laboratory/facility)
or a HQ/Olympus Central
yeah pure white buildings are just..unsetilling (idk how to spell that OMG)
unsettling
we need leaks from that
ty
the bleached and sterile feeling with a large amount of white balanced light would be GREAT
we need the information!!
oh that's right! I just realised, there are 12 designations on the Facility Glance sheet
I get the atmosphere from those ^^ artworks, the IM CONSTANTLY BEING WATCHED but from pale, white blinding rooms r just... Destiny 2 GLaDOS
don:
We have Zeus (A),
Hades (B),
Poseidon (C),
Olympus Transmitter- could be Hermes- (D)
Botany- could be Demeter? (E)
an R/D facility for (F)
Lodge/Rec. - unsure- (G)
and the same with Viewing Platform (H), and behavioural sci. (I)
plus (J), (K), and (L), all being R/D
Hermes and Demeter would definitely fit

Dionysus could could be put in for Lodge/Rec.
being that she is linked with festivity
and patron god of the art of theatre
But, I'm guessing it's sheer coincidence that there are 12 designations
Like how it's sheer coincidence that it also looks like the Tree of Life
hyper tree yet again.
lol
I'm pretty sure hades isn't an Olympian?
He is
If the tranquillizer r/d was Dionysus that would be funny
I'm getting conflicting answers online
So imma assume it depends on the myth
Technically he's an Olympian
He's on the same power level as Zeus and Poseidon
He just doesn't have a Throne on Mount Olympus because his brothers hate him
So officially he isn't
Yea
He's part of thr same "generation" and importance
But doesn't actually have a throne on Olympus
So it depends which way we're defining olympian
Actually the reason why is because he got the shortest straw and got the underworld. His brothers don't hate him tho.
he just looks after Tartarus
Doesn't mean he is a bad guy
Ik. He's essentially a glorified prison warden
pretty much lol
yeah hades just does his job
In myth hades is Olympian. He just stuck with ruling the cave sadly. He is siblings with the originals
He’s just got his own job to do. And that includes umm kindnapping Persephone I guess
The least horrible act done on a woman in Greek myth
Ain’t wrong
Atleast she grew to like the dude
Maybe I should try the same tactic
Get ur brothers permission to marry a relative? (I'm forgetting my family tree but they probably are)
More or less
Technically even that is Zeus fault. As hades asked Zeus if he could marry persephone. And Zeus said yes. Hades in his infinite wisdom then asked Zeus how can I get persephone.
And by the end of the story most of the blame is on Zeus which is extremely rare.
Greek Mythos, am I right
Lore is lore tbh
listening to all of this it just sounds like the isle is a play and a bunch of different dinosaurs are playing greek gods
Welcome to the lore chat, this is about what we do when there are no new lore drops
mm yes
lol
@wet lintel
uh oh
"The shortest straw" yeah
Like Zeus didn't decide it all by himself
Poseidon can have two thrones, one under the sea and one on Mount Olympus, but for some reason Hades can't
I didn't imply he was evil
He's just being bullied
No they LITERALLY drew straws in the myth
It's something they did a lot in Greece back then to decide things
There is no quotations around the shortest straw because it is literal
Zeus and poseidon in the myth were chill with each other and hades and vice versa. They all respected each other. And besides. Not matter what at some point hades is supposed to become to ruler of Olympus as it is his birthright.
Since he's technically the oldest
He drew the shortest straw but feom what I've seen and read. There isn't really a reason given why he doesn't have a throne on Olympus
Could even be a by choice thing we don't really know
I'd probably say by choice. Or maybe it's because the people of Greece didn't want him known since he's a god of death. And if you say their name they may just hear you and listen
Not a god of death at all
That's thanatos
He's the god of the dead but that's distinct from God of death
Sorry god of the dead.
But anyway. Rulers of the underworld were not spoken of a lot
Persephone and hades specifically
True
Hard to say really
Oral traditions do be quirky
He technically is an Olympian as he is in the generation of gods that are after the titanomacy
Or rather the ruling gods after the titanomacy
But not one of the 12 thrones
Which is how this all started
Fair.
Then they kick his arse in a rebellion
If hades were to start a rebellion(which he never was). He'd probably have the side of helios. Athena. Ares and others.
And obviously persephone and demeter
Yeah but in the lore he just didn’t care. He was on his throne with some pomegranate like “DAMN BRUDDA YOU GOT THE CRAP BEAT OUTTA YAH HAHA”
Definitely
okay so what the hek is the 'primordial'
to give context I was going through mentions of the island walker and trying to figure out if its the big pile of bones on Isle V3 legacy
or/other information abt the island walker(s)
It may be the cannibal's name for the replicator? No ide4a
I read that it was the largest known critter (created?) larger than both the matriarch and colossus
No idea then
Would the tribals use troodon venom the same as they use poison dart frogs venom to hunt monkeys? Instead it’s mercinaries
don’t think so becuase you would need the troodon to bite something while the frogs you just need to brush it on their skin
No but I could see them using troodons to build resistance to their venom
No
I mean mercs no longer exist
The mercs are now gen 2
We didn't get much information on Primordial
Besides that Don talked about it existing
Basically similar to Island Walker
Excluding that the island walker bones were in V3
but, that it was it.
2018
just before 2019
(which we all know what happened in 2019)
recode
honestly with these crazy giants creatures it makes me wonder how much of the events of the isle is in universe public knowledge
we will likely never know much about them unless they're put back in Evrima
or Don shows his archive
Honestly, larger creatures just feel the most iffy
(with their existence in lore)
mostly because we know little of AE's motives
and we have zero understanding of ethics in The Isle
Same goes with Gen1s and Gen2s
which are practically illegal
Who knows
Maybe AE lobbied to make it legal
They clearly have more than enough money and power to do so
Again
Assuming the ethics of AE
Does AE play through some legal loop holes?
Or do they just simply allow eugenics to the extreme
That's the thing
We lack almost every aspect of worldbuilding at the moment
Which is ultra cringe
and, I will play the hopium card, that Don has some sort of worldbuilding in place to explain these things
some or if not most
Can only imagine how powerful AE would be tho
The money and man power to do. Whatever tf they're doing
I know Gateway will likely be lacklustre with it's lore at launch
but please, some better in-game lore in any way in the near future
I desire a lore update
they can bite the soldiers lol
not soldiers
just don't forget, they're not mercenaries anymore
they're genetically made humans
cannibals?
and not with the intent to kill things
Lab grown baby
no longer called Cannibals
no official name
But the Tribals are cannibals
and the originally named "Cannibals" are no longer referred to as such
couldn’t the tribals kill the troodons harvest their venom glands and use it to coat their weapons in their venom?
They might
same with Dilos
