@velvet pumice First of all, the reason your server isn’t showing up can be caused by many different issues. For example: incorrect port settings, special characters or wrong letters in the server name, or a misconfigured .bat file.
Here are a few things you can check:
Review your Game.ini and .bat file (check IP, port, and EOS settings).
Make sure you’ve opened the required UDP ports through your modem/router (NAT settings).
Allow the necessary permissions through the Windows Firewall.
Keep the server name simple — avoid special characters or non-English letters.
And finally, you may need to add a few lines to your Engine.ini file. These changes might help solve the issue — it’s definitely worth trying.

If your server is running stable, don't touch it. A different setting may trigger something else. We Turks have a saying that if something is running, you should leave it that way 😄

Here's a screenshot of what the DM button in the admin panel does. What you have is the same issue as me, which makes the message inverted, the message content is the sender, and the sender is the message content (RCON is supposed to be on top of the message)

Yes it works, the point is that it is not displaying the information correctly. you can't type something long without overlapping with "Announcement". But since everyone has this issue i'll just wait for a UI update.
I usually just have it send short messages. Like with our link system it will just DM the shortcode in-game.

Well I'm going to be developing a new one based on local hosting. However 70% of the bot utilizes SFTP connection and RCON, so you would just need a host that support SFTP for that specific one.

as far as i understand sftp loads the files you want to the server, but do you still need it if you are hosting it locally? I have a dedicated server
I mean you could technically setup an SFTP connection, but not advised.
The more logical approach is to create a bot that reads the local files verse an external connection. Though this would require the bot to be hosted ont he same machine as the server itself.
Yea i plan on having a bot that is hosted on the same machine, tho in the future i'm thinking on buying a mini-pc and host the server on pterodactyl, but that's for the far future

Before the update, my server was able to log all kill events and chat messages directly from the game logs, and I could run commands successfully via those logs. I was also able to see all these events and interact with them through my Discord bot (for example, viewing kill logs, chat, and using admin commands directly from Discord).
However, after the latest update, none of these features work anymore—no kill logs, chat messages, or join/leave events are being recorded in any of the log files, and all my automated commands have become unusable.
Does anyone know why this happened or how to restore log output for kill, chat, or join/leave events? Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated.
You could try increasing the AI limits. For me, plants are not a problem; what’s really strange is that everything I used to do through Discord no longer works, and for example, log records are no longer being written to TheIsle.log.
Had to join this server as the google forum pages and reddit answers were no longer helping. I've started the usual settings I have on my server, (it's only for myself and friends) and then did the usual tests and found out that bodies just disappear out of nowhere. This never happened before, a few months ago? it only started doing it just now. the forum pages state that its something to do with bEnableStreaming. So I set that to false and it still didn't help as dinosaur corpses just disappear upon dying. Am I losing my mind or is this intentional.
After my recent tests, some AI creatures have started to appear on the server.
The AI is fine but the problem I had on my side is that when I come up to one and kill one, their body immediately disappeared as if they were never there. I did some further testing and reset my dino and teleport back to where I died. It also immediately disappeared
If you respawn in-game and teleport to that location, you may not be able to see it. Please try it with a friend to confirm

I feel like AI is spawning very rarely, and there are some types I never encounter at all, such as goats, even though I didn’t disable them in the settings. Can anyone adjust the AI to spawn more? I would like to know the settings that can increase AI spawns.
Has anyone figured a way to do population control? For example an automated script that will allow and disallow classes of dinos when the set limit has been met? I've a script in place which ultimately adds and removes it from the Game.ini (similar to what the admin UI does) but I'm clearly missing something because the only way this can be effective with my current method would be a server restart which isn't what I'm trying to achieve... 🤔

You're probably reading the wrong file.
Normally, I was getting this information from the TheIsle.log file, but after the update, it stopped appearing there. Additionally, it used to show up on the Shipping.exe screen, but that also disappeared after the update.

It's actually a bug, it doesn't spawn anywhere else and is concentrated only in one point on the map, horrible actually. No bot on the rest of the map.

I've investigated a little and if i'm not mistaken is one of two issues:
1- You don't have the proper ports open (Even if it lets you join, you need certain ports such as 7777, 8888, and 27015 for Steam Query)
or
2- Your public ip is under a CGNAT by your ISP, which means unreal engine or Steam don't know where the server is located so it just shows -1000 or 0
do you have a static or dynamic IP? must be static
you also need to double check your ports are open on both your router and your pcs firewall
data acquisition is always about the server talking to the pc... it think lol
Ive got my server up and running however im having problems with running commands. i cant type in the batch files cmd window or the servers window. i also cant use commands in game
another problem is that my grow% does match what i put into the admin panel. when i put 60 i get smt around 35, its not the same ration for each dino

Me myself and I. I wouldn't advise using a game server provider. It's expensive and the performance is crap. Take a look at Amazon cloud servers or digitalocean.

Anyone knows how to read the users .sav files that are saved on the server? I want it to make a discord bot that lets the user save it as a coupon and once the user saves the dino, it will give it a coupon of that dino, and then the bot would slay the user in-game
You dont have to read the file to do storage.

Storing:
Let the user log out. After waiting for few minutes move the .sav and .sav.bak file to another location. The user logs back in and will be at spawn menu.
Restore:
User logs out, wait few minutes, delete .sav and .sav.bak files. Then move the 2 files back to the playerdata folder. User logs back in
This is the easiest way. note that when you do this there is a change the sav files will be corrupted. To ensure the files wont be corrupted only allow the players to restore their dino after a server restart
If you remove any from that list with the RCON command for example, then that dino is disabled, or if you go in the Admin Panel under "Classes" and disable it there, it's also off, can turn it on again too ofc. Not sure I understood your question fully 😄

You can spawn as them, but only with random spawns enabled, but they don't do any damage and they lie down when doing the drinking animation etc, so they sorta half work^^ More for exploring and some random funsies currently tho

When I start the server I can't get to "Server started successfully!" and I'm stuck on "Verbose: Session 'Tennis' is being set as 'listening' in the ApplyConnectionSettingsToModificationHandle function as listening addresses are available." I've disabled firewalls on my windows and router, yet it still doesn't work.
I have asus router, the port settings are: External port: 7777; Internal port: 7777; Internal IP Address: ipv4; Protocol: both.

Disabling plants isn't working anymore and migrations and patrols wont spawn. I saw someone say delete the migrations file. Will this need to be done every server restart or just once bc of update?

Idk, I didn't program the game, but that's the way it is, allowed for dino classes and disallowed for ai classes, any dino that's not in the file is bascially disallowed and that can either be done in the Admin Panel with buttons, or per RCON command 😄
I didn't think you did program it, it was a general question. I'm aware of the admin console, but it was frustrating to go back to my game.ini and see I was missing Herra, Dibble, Maia, and Trike from that list, when it's a dino game, so they should all be on by default in the game...and if you enabled them in the console anytime the server restarts those dinos are not going to be there so if a player has selected that class they lose their dino....
They should stay in the file even after a restart and players that have the dinosaur already can still log in and spawn, it only disables fresh spawning, nesting works too if the class is disabled

You can't fix it, Crabs and Turtles seem to endless spawn and you can only turn off turtles, can only go no ai at all by turning off completely, or let a couple hundred spawn and then turn off in Admin Panel or RCON and that after every server restart

Multiple other servers i have talked to have the issue- this happened in horde for a time too
That sounds a bit complex to do for the user, there has to be a better way to do it or to de-serialize the .sav files
Many servers decrypt the .sav files and then edit the data.

I believe you need to handle the player id and playername for kicking and for banning you need both EOS ID and SteamID.

And update playables would be like list, so like updateplayables tenonto,hypsy,dryo etc and the dino that i would want to be disabled i would just ignore it?

Oh humans cant- you have to turn on random spawn to make it function- humans are borked to hell.... once you get them on- there WAS a bug before the recent patch that made client side crashes happen every time they lmb or rmb clicked. Every other "function" of humans in the same tho
Humans are literally dolls rn. They arent meant to be in so the devs arent developing the ken dolls they gave us time to play with on unofficials
Teleporting humans is your best bet to get enough of them where u want. If you are an admin as a human, and you try to teleport somewhere, ypur camera will get upsettingly INSIDE the head of the human

I am running a dedicated Server on a Windows computer.
Let's call it SERVER.
I play TheIsle on a different computer, let's call it GAMEPC.
Both computers are on the Same LAN SubNet (192.168.2.X)
With GAMEPC in the game I see my SERVER in unofficials Servers list.
When i try to join it says's "Data Acquisition Failed"
Ports redirection and Firewall are good.
I think it's because both my PC are on the same LAN and the game tell's to GAMEPC connect SERVER via my public IP instead of LAN IP.
Is there any NAT Loopback support with the game ?

You will need to switch to a windows base. Linux can not handle the new patch (has not been patched yet)

The answer is, NO the game does not support NAT Loopback, your router need to support NAT Loopback if you want to play on a dedicated server in the same network.

I know about that. But player count is a whole different thing.
Eh not really. Just modifying server files so that it doesn't call upon the function to update player count and return the number rather it checks off a hardcoded value.
I personally like that servers do storage systems and what not, of course not a fan of gatekeepers, but I don't like when they modify things like playercount or anything else that is abusive.

Well assuming that it is (because almost any server with storage systems use it) has modded server files to add new functionality. I am aware that Dino Den used the same system and modified their player count. So your issue would arise with the mods installed.
Would likely point to the mods then.
Anything changed in the game needs = update .pak mod so that it works with any changes.

You guys are 1000% spoofing playercount.... Server randomly goes from 0 players to 180... and you say its a "visual bug" we have heard that somewhere before i Think! You heatmaps & playercount bot is suddenly turned off. Just doesn't add up

It's an older version that has been in the game files for a long time and people are just now finding out about it and loading it in.

I made my server exactly according to this guide, only changing the Bat file slightly. (I added my manifest id, which you can find on the website
SteamDB. When I launched the server, I didn't find it in the search bar. Since I have two computers, I used the second one to find the server on the LAN network and tried to connect, but the game started and didn't connect to the server, even though port 7779 was open. This could only mean that the servers were only running on versions 0.1.53.3 and 0.1.8.1. It only took me a day of continuous work to figure this out.

Turtles have finally dissapeared from the beach but crabs are still there.

Im testing a little, and it seems like simply disableing AI, even if you have 600 ai spawned the S-FPS stables out a lot, so what you could maybe do is have RCON or just admins manually enabled/dissable AI every so often or when the AI hits a certain number and stop it over a certain number

Restart and try again. This happened to me to a few times when EOS goes down.
That or your server is just taking a while to start. I've had times where it hangs there for 5-10 minutes before session is set as listening.

the problem is there is an error in your .pak file that's why
Follow this path TheIsle/Content/Paks/ and delete the paks file or everything in it, then run it again with the .bat file, it will restore them if you run it with the .bat file.

One option would be to have a sort of crash protect in your start file, like .bat, which auto starts after x seconds if the task is gone and taskkill the server process every x hours with a scheduled task.

I'd turn off the server and set bEnableMassMigration=true to false, then delete the Migrations.sav file in ..\TheIsle\Saved\SaveGames and start up again, see if migrations pop up after some minutes

Allo or Rex are likely not the issue. You probably installed a false mod or don't have any signature bypass.
(Most servers are running them fine)

My self hosted server seems very unstable. the problem is that it does not close the existing server completely after the restart and opens a new window and thus more and more windows open
That warning* isn't something to worry about.
EOS API takes awhile to update and remove servers not listening anymore.
It won't make a big difference as when you connect it should still connect to your server.
The problem was something different, we solved it, the server is working smoothly now.

is there anyway to ban players that are not on the server? Because even if i ban them with RCON or just write the ban on the .json it won't ban them unless yo do it through the server, which means the user to be banned has to be on
In the admin panel at the bottom there's the "bans" tab, thats one way to ban players who are offline.
Rcon currently needs steamid,steamid,banreason,durationinhours
If the player is not on the server it'll say it doesn't work but it does.
It only shows success when the player was online and rcon could kick him, but nonetheless the ban should work.
Yea i've tested the rcon command with a online user and it works, but when offline it won't, even tho i use the same parameters

I'm programming in goloang a way to send RCON commands to my server through a website and testing this library with another known RCON program:

The Isle uses their own custom RCON. You have to follow their formatting.
I built a RCON Tool if you are need of something like that that has genuine UI functionality.

Just a quick note. I just got banned from Nerf Official for exposing that their server is spoofing playercounts in their Discord. Anyone who does this will get a hammer from the devs. It's also just inappropriate behavior to do.
I called the EOS SDK to actually see any sessions of real players and the 160 at the time of this message were not returning any player ids other than any "real" ones on the server which was far less than 160. Getting banned for this shows evidently that there is spoofing techniques involved and I don't advise anyone play Nerf Official with their suspicious behavior.
If they can spoof the player counts they can get any information, including your IP when you play the server.

I'm not when I've observed that the playercount stays a steady 160, fails to return player data using EOS directly, and many players I've spoke with in your community have came to confirm that there is rarely any activity in your community on the actual server.
You don't coincidentally have people talk about how there is no one around and that the player count doesn't change.
On top of that, you were spamming my DMs a week or so ago to get "rex" mods from me.
This is already in it's own suspicious.
I don't mind being banned, makes no difference to me for just calling you a liar.
Side note: I recall awhile back that one of your staff, Gnocchi came in here for help and I noticed they were confirming the player count was "bugged" and that it was showing a fake amount of players in which they insisted that you guys had no clue what was going on. Weird that it was a bug and now they're real players.

I called the EOS SDK to actually see any sessions of real players of two communities:
The Dino Den with session id 6e24960ff3de4a64943bf05c3930e943
and
NERF Official with session id 4e31cbfc10284a9492d349410dadc0f3.
For reference I provided the session ids is for your own experimentation. Heck use AI to make you a script to view the data. It'll likely work.
The results showed that most of the players on these servers were not real. These communities are manipulating player counts on the server list. You may or may not see anyone on these servers even if they appear to have a high player count. There has been suspicious behavior stemming from these two communities.
Dino Den has already confirmed their use manipulating player counts in the past as the owner admitted on a stream.
A NERF administrator has came in this channel once to inform a user that was accusing NERF of spoofing player counts that they are unaware of the player count "issue" and that they were trying to "fix" it. They acknowledged that the player count was showing a false amount of players, but played it off as if they had nothing to do with it and that it's something they were trying to "fix".
The messages are now since then deleted, but here is where you can see when it took place.

It has been reported to me that there is almost no one found on these servers despite having a visual high player count and which of course further verifies player count manipulation.
Solution
Do NOT play communities that do this. We have no idea what they modify and can potentially be malicious. Modifying server counts is also unethical and disgusting behavior.
Protect yourself. Your information when you connect to a server can be seen, especially if they modify the server to extract information that isn't normally available from the official server tools.

As a former senior admin of The Dino Den i can comfirm this isnt a lie Vire has confirmed doing this. He does not care about the players or the people involved. He made a discord to just make fun of individuals and staff of his server. He takes people money and doesnt put it back to the community. He silences anyone who tells the truth either by banning them or degrading them. He has multiple alt accounts to spy on servers to get their info and use it as his own. He is sexist racist and homophobic. He let a staff member go just for being a furry! How disgusting is that! I will never support dino den no ever again! The things he says about the people that supports him is disgusting. He has admitted stealing someones money after getting to make a bot cause he herd they were quote " slandering him" all he did was laugh and call him a idiot for giving him the money. Has anyone found a way to make saving/loading dinos more reliable? I have a discord bot system that works but it seems guaranteed to corrupt the file unless done after a server restart, based on the testing I have done. Has anyone figured out a way so it works more reliably without a server restart?

That guy is a staff member for one of the servers spoofing player counts by the way. No idea if it is an alt or what.

My responses were getting cut off at the 4096 byte mark, did some research and heard about that- because i was just grabbing the first packet response instead of opening a stream and grabbing all of them

But from what I can see it's trying to access memory at an address that is invalid. Since your memory usage is normal it's likely to do with Rex.

Your network needs to support loopback otherwise there's no way to play a server that's running on the same machine you play on.
There's various free admin servers like Taco, Orion, Norden, e.g.
Just search "Admin" or "Free Admin". Usually straight foward to apply.
Hi I have my own server and I wanted to ask for some help. Im using GTX gaming to host my server and its now up and working. But I want to add custom mods like I’d like to link the server to my Discord, particularly for features like teleportation triggered by Discord commands .
I’d also love to implement commands like !grow, !heal, or !stam that players can use in Discord to trigger effects in-game automatically. Can anyone possibly help me as im the only bot rn as I have no clue what Im doing..
Evrima or legacy? For evrima you have pretty much no luck. Enozi has a bot you can order, but I am not exactly sure on the prices. There really isn't no "custom" mods other than that.

The reference for it was the bot system from Norden.
It took me around two weeks to learn reverse engineering well enough to understand everything I needed.
I’d recommend learning it yourself instead of spending XXX euros on it.

my server will randomly disappear from the server list, i restart will take care of it for abit but it keeps coming back any ideas ?
There's already a discord app that exists for most in game commands and brings them into discord via RCon. It's called Evrima Manager.

Once we gain more file/game access more things will be possible like what you're saying... in order to "mod" the server... similar to what you can do with FiveM... game just isn't to that point yet; At least the developers or owners aren't to that point of releasing yet. Wouldn't suggest wasting time trying to mod it too much at the moment.

Anyone know how to fix spawn points or change spawn points, is this even possible right now or is it hidden behind encryption? Enabled humans for an event, but there are no spawn points to move forward. Also, what's with the developer button being grey? Is this something server owners should have access to or is it locked?
You need to have random spawnpoints if you want tp have humans

Im not a dev you just know some small stuff. Rex and allo is in the build but im not sure how they do. I think most on the server owners bought the mod for the allo and rex then someone just throw it to the rest

They're custom made. If you don't got a lot of money to cough up you're not likely to get it.
Modding The Isle isn't like a publicly modded game as it's against ToS.
People still do it and that's why you wont find anything online.

What would be the timeline for releasing further file/game access to server owners at this point? Have any devs/owners/seniors touched on this before?
As people are talking above and i'm sure you all know at the top... not opening it up is just slowly going to lead to more "leaks", more decryptions and attempts to back door the game and violate TOS. When we could just work towards the same spot FiveM is in.. and make it to where we can do our thing.
Last I heard they’re focusing on making the game first. Modding officially might come when the game is done but what do I know?

Good morning. Is it possible that creating a server via SteamCMD is currently not possible? Somehow the server files such as the configuration file and the map are not being downloaded.
To fix this, you can try several things:

Reinstall the server with SteamCMD

Open your server from the .exe or create a bat with specific parameters, such as the map: Gateway (example)

Create the files and some folders, such as .ini files like Game.ini or Engine.ini.

Check the ai spawn
Sometimes it spawns too much and starts to lag.
These errors should not cause any kind of delay/lag on your server.
Check your game.ini, you must have something wrong and it's causing lag.

The game has not been setup to generate configuration files.
All you need to do is create Game.ini and provide the Mapname=Gateway attribute
Unless you got deep pockets or know how to mod then no.

Mapname=Gateway defines the level being loaded. The game no longer defaults to a level.

What do you mean? It requires a modded file. Most people sell it for a high price. You’ll just have to look around. I’m sure someone has had to give a free one out

Thank you for your response, but the problem I'm having isn't with creating a server. I can't connect to my existing game on Steam. I've literally opened all TCP/UDP ports between 0 and 65535 just to test it, and when I check with netcat, they're open. You can see this in the second image. However, I can't see the game listed in the unofficial server list; I can't even connect to it using <ip>:port. If you don't mind, I can share my server login information. Could someone please help? I have a long-term server plan, so thank you for your understanding.

Storage systems for evrima require game modding. Just ask if they know how to mod.
Legacy has a bunch of stuff online pretty sure.

Yes because there isn’t any official implementation by the devs themselves. So modding is done to make it possible. Though, it is against ToS but I don’t think the devs mind if it’s not harmful or malicious

There are no proper resources for explanations and setup. The resources that do exist are either incomplete or haphazardly prepared. There's no need to victimize people this much. Those who do know either refuse to help or keep it a secret. This behavior is unacceptable.
