I already did, nothing is being blocked on there. It's all a pass through.
I for the life of me cant get a server going. I get it to show up on the list. Just get a timeout when joining. Ports forwarded. Added windows firewall as full pass. Queue and rcon ports off as both settings are disabled for now. I have 2 other servers running on this box, minecraft and enshrouded with no issues. Any insight?

In your game.ini under the [/Script/TheIsle.TIGameSession] section u gotta adjust this: RegionSpawnCooldownTimeSeconds=xxxx
Bit tricky, it uses the difference from UTC to the timezone that your host server runs in. Example: If your server timezone is 1 hour ahead of UTC, then 3900 seconds would mean a 5 minute respawn cooldown, if you're behind UTC you'd have to look at -values and test around

yeah im having the same issues, im familar with running servers, yet this has given me the hardest time and there is little to no documentation on anything. Only thing I've found was a steam post from 2023 so im not even sure if its still up to date 🤷♂️ I can see my server in the list, im not on the same machine idk
I found the issue...havent been able to fix it though. Its related to the ue4prereqsetup_x64 file. On my Win11 server it didnt launch when starting the server. This is probably due to me disabling a lot of Microsoft telemetry/features. havent figured it out yet. I tried on a Win10 box I have and it launched the file ue4prereqsetup_x64 and after setup server ran fine.

Queue port has to be enabled iirc.

Create a folder (e.g. C:\SteamCMD), download and extract SteamCMD into it, run steamcmd.exe, login anonymous, set force_install_dir "C:\TheIsleServer", run app_update 412680 validate, and then quit to install The Isle dedicated server on Windows.
Linux yeah? You can always just use pterodactyl it's free little bit of pain to setup but worth it

If I'm not mistaken setting RegionSpawnCooldownTimeSeconds=-10500 should mean a 5minute cooldown for you, you do negative value since you're behind UTC, just test around

you said its a local server, so in the same network as your pc that you're trying to log in from, correct? Then it needs hairpinning

Hello, im having trouble with a dedicated windows server im helping get setup. Im able to ping it, but i can't find it in the server select screen. I've port forwarded. I've set the DedicatedServerClientId and DedicatedServerClientSecret in the engine.ini. The engine.ini and game.ini are saved to TheIsle\Saved\Config\WindowsServer. Is it an issue with my file structure? Is there anything i'm missing?

So after hours of searching I give up. Does anyone know the AllowedClasses command or syntax to enable the humans on the server? I used the button to enable humans on AMP but all it did was make it so I can press Generation 2 but I cannot get beyond that point.
For example do I need to add AllowedClasses=HumanMale and HumanFemale, or is it AllowedClasses=Generation2male. I have tried several versions of this and cant seem to get it to work.

Nvm, thanks all it worked with the multi line. Somehow i had to restart the server 3 times becuase every time i shut the server down, edit the Game.ini, save the file, boot server back up, it restored the Game.ini to an older version
But it works now
yeah I've learned the hard way making any changes needs to be done after the server is shut down fully
I did, i had my config changed a few times but it kept resetting it to an even older version
It did that a few times before. Maybe it becuase i had a comma in my line and if that's not supported it restores the config to a working backup?
no the server just does that when you make a change to the ini while it's running. it's kinda janky

I have the -log argument when I start my server so I know when it’s fully exited. You can watch your processes also for when the server goes away from process list

Once the ini has rcon enabled correctly you’ll want to pick an RCON client/script and login with that

well on paper I think any source RCON is "supposed" to work but I've had a few issues. I just settled with this for now as I'm making my own tool for managing the server and RCON stuff

Check the logs and it's probably due to Steam API or EOS.
This was needed to be added as an Allowed apps , TheIsleServer-Win64-Shipping.exe on the Windows firewall.
Also these .dlls were missing. I grabbed them from the Steamworks SDK Redist and added them to:
C:\theisland\TheIsle\Binaries\Win64 - Might be different for you.
that's actually super helpful for me as well, I've just installed the steam client for fixing it but this is obviously way more prefered

Thanks for the info and response. I had the DLLs. I whitelisted TheIsleServer app in Windows firewall, that doesn't seem to be it. Is there logs outside of what is in TheIsle\Binaries\Win64\logs ?
I'm not familiar with the suggested TCPView, but I see 443 pop up in red - assuming red is blocked or droped.

Two minutes after, then the server came with [Server session started!] or something.
And voila, you are done. you hopefully can find your server now ingame!

I was able to remove steam again off the server, and server could still start.
Not guaranteed if you can also remove the game again, I didn't try. But steam should be fine to remove
The human is broken. and i think they removed it in a previous patch. When you spawned as a human and did a left click attack the game crashed with fatal error.

if your steamcmd cant download the server that would indicate you don't have internet to the server which would make the dedicated server also not be able to be joinable and be useless even if you downloade the files on your machine and upload them to the server

The spawn timer is in UTC. So if your server was hosted in chicago (6 hours behind UTC) and you wanted a 5 minute spawn timer you would set the spawn timer to -21300
No server is working fine. Just 0 ping
I mean, it is 0 ping for you because you are right next to it, if it is local.
Others see the ping depending on their own connection / distance to your server.

Just figured this issue out if you havent found a solution yet. Go to your Steam folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam"
Copy these files:
steamclient64.dll
tier0_s64.dll
vstdlib_s64.dll
crashhandler64.dll
And put them in your server folder "The Isle Dedicated Server\TheIsle\Binaries\Win64"

I am getting a weird problem on my server
It appears when i am sprinting, normally i wouldnt bat an eye to the warning messages in the isle server log but it causes rubberbandning as soon as i stop sprinting around. Keeps occuring when i sprint, stop, sprint again, stop and so on. Any ideas?

I want no spawn timer which is why cooldown is set to false but it’s still enforcing it
Just set it so its basically 0, if you're 1 hour ahead of UTC timezone set it to 3600 and its 0. If you're 1 hour behind do -3600 and it should be 0, adjust to your host server timezone difference to UTC ofc.

if you're setting the cooldown timers to disabled don't forget to setup the UTC time difference in the cooldown seconds for whatever reason the Dev's probably won't ever explain

it threw me off because before I wiped my VM and went with VirtIO storage drivers the default 30 second cooldown with cooldown false actually worked and then after reinstalling windows it forced the timer until someone pointed out I have to put the cooldown seconds in difference of hours from UTC time
But how does that work practically?
yeah I mean I'm going to keep passive aggressively bashing the dev's here and there until they actually start helping relay info on the server side but I'm sure dedi servers bring them no money or new players so probably won't help anytime soon
well it's based off of UTC timezone difference so I'd guess the server code is doing a weird timer count based off of some sort of UTC reference and if it fails the check it kicks the timer on
but that's just a guess

I was going in on coding a Winform tool to do everything from start to finish to get evirma server on windows downloaded, prepped and running but I lost a good chunk of interest after dealing with the cooldown timer BS
understandable, not to mention every major update kinda bricks all the tools we had
well that's where my tool would prob be decently reliable. I was going to use Github as a template updater so the tool pulls from the raw github file and any updates would pull the change and update the ini as needed and just use default setting until modified by user
the whole source is on Github and the solution has the default ini's to use as template when setting up so checking the ini on the github master is super easy to do

Anyone had or have problems with fish spawn? We barely have any fish spawn in the server and we havent changed anything, we only changed growth and AIs to x2. It seems our server has less fish than other servers. Could that be a possibility or we're just really not lucky with them?
Yeah they respawn after a restart, not sure if it works if you add more spawn frequency to AI tho. Seen the issue on a few servers.

Try taking it down to like 20 sec and see if it changes things, honestly don't know enough surrounding the fishes to say for sure. But if you tried that route too it might just be a "its a beta version of the game, wait for updates"

you don't need to know your public IP for this server, as long as your modem/router is assigned a public IP and is not behind CGNAT just setup the port forward on your gateway/router to your server and the port open on the server
You only need you "PC" local ip that your router set for you.
open CMD and typ > ipconfig /all
look for the (perferred) ip, should be 192..... smt
it can be anything within the RFC1918 space but more than likely it'll be a 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x
Then you need to open that "PC" ports in the Router by going to your routers webui (ipadress is usually on a sticker underneath your router) bring your phone to take a picture so you dont have to run back for the username and password later.

check your network configuration on router and server, also ensure you're not behind CGNAT from your probider (if this is being hosted at your home)
tp link should hopefully show the IP assigned from your provider. check that is the same IP your error shows. if not you're most likely behind CGNAT
usually you just get "data acquisition failed" but that may also indicate the same thing but in a better detailed return. if your server console doesn't show your connection attempts it's a port issue

from a quick browse on that plusnet forum it looks like they're doing NAT on the pppoe gateway direct (which is normal) and give you a routable public which is normal - however that means their gateway needs to be the one with the port opened since the NAT is happening on their gateway. My guess is you have to ask for them to setup DSTNAT to open the port but no clue if they would do that

Was gonna say before i saw ur last update that you can connect to your own server by using the console if you activate it in the properties of the game. Otherwise you could just set a password temporarely or whitelist, that way you can test things out and have friends join that wants to help out.
Easier to have it setup as "real" then just change one true to false and be in buissnes

And the port mapping doesn't include the interal ip address that it should be mapped to
192.168.1.15 is basically your computers internal ip adress inside the routers network
This is a proper example of what mappings look like
A connection looks like (source_address, source_port) -> (destination_address, destination_port)
You don't need to know the source address because presumably, you want anyone to be able to connect. The destination address is your EXTERNAL ip address at the first step of the connection. The ports can be whatever you want, but they must match your port forwarding rules
For example, if I want people to connect to my 7DTD server, they would connect to (THEIR_IP, 26900) -> (MY_IP, 26900)
The reason that the IP on the port mapping is included is because you have several computers behind your "router". The route needs to know which computer behind the router uses that port for the game server

I had the exact same thing two days ago when i came back to the isle, granted i had 39.4 degrees fever at the time so its all abit hazy but i managed to solve it

I did validate with steamcmd just in case
one of the problems was he was editing files on his desktop instead of the install directory of the game

if it shows 0 ping for you no thats not an issue. if it shows 0 ping for your friends and they are not in the same home as you then thats weird

it shows 0 ping regardless of being on same network or not, after trying to connect, it shows -1,000
"Data acquisition failed" usually means something in the server isnt properly configured

Nice! that’s awesome they got it setup. So RCON isn’t oddly within source RCON standards. I’d recommend picking your favorite script for the isle evirma RCON and going from there. The commands for RCON on the isle are almost useless though so fair warning

How to add dining storage to server?
I would assume it's simply copying the user's data file (saved as their steamID64 for the file name) and then storing it in a different location. when a user selects their stored dino it probably copies the backed up file back to the server BUT that's purely my guess as there's definitely no mod or RCON to do that to my knowledge

I had 5 because my DNS serever was an Ip and my IPv4 was the routers not my PCs
start verifying your server is open to the internet, outside in
just tested the process on my server.
Player must safe log or the data wont matter (and will be imported as corrupted).
Copy the player data out of the Saved/PlayerData folder
Label it into a folder however you wabt, when the player wants to "import" it they'll have to log out - once logged out you copy the saved files back into the PlayerData folder and they can log back in
So not really a mod or plugin, just a process you will have to code however you want to make it work
the files are saved by players steamid64 so to code handling that wouldn't be too bad but it'll be alot of work if you're not familiar with any languages that can automate something like that on server side and "client" side

well the easiest I've found is telnet to your public IP using the queue port, it should instantly close the connection instead of throw a refusal/timeout
you could do a UDP port scan too but the telnet check is far faster

It does, tried running on linux with 235 players. Constant player lag. But on windows it runs fine. S-FPS was at 30 on linux
You are 2.35x the recommended player limit by the game itself. Ofc you will notice performance issues

Know this - you will see errors in the log when it starts - this is NORMAL.
The issue most people have is you can't connect if you are hosting the server on the SAME network that you are on. You must set hairpinning network adjustments specific to your router/equipment for it to work correctly in addition to port forwarding for external (those outside of your home) to join.

That's great - still requires hairpinning to route the traffic from your gaming pc within the same network back to the server.
I’d start with verifying your console log shows a connection attempt outside of your network. Then work on hairpin if your router doesn’t do that like normal

it was also thuderstorm when i was testing carno
could that also affect it?
what i achieved with galli was 93 km/h
to be known, having 2 big speed buffs at the same time, disconnects u from the server. Photo tissue(or Nocturnal) + hydrodynamic, both set over at 69%.

hi so i bought a server on Gportal but u can't find my server on any of the game versions and when i look under the map settings it says WARNING: If you use EVRIMA branch, you have to use the map Spiro. the issue is that i tested every single version of the game and i looked in my server settings there is no setting to change my server to the map spiro

you could check memory usage I guess, make sure there's enough free for a little AI bloat

anyone knows we are tryintto setup a second server and its also visible ingame but when you try to connect you just have ages connecting after 3-4min its loading in and then you get kicked back into mainmenu with timeout etc
