I hail from Finland and only last year got my hunting license as a middle aged person, looked around for a modern equivalent of Deer Hunter 2005 (played that a bit back in the day) and noticed COTW. Have used the game for practising shot placement [in order to be a better hunter IRL], participated IRL in driven moose hunting. Apart from that some small game hunting.
I hope they'd add wood pigeon (could be hunted like geese with decoys in a field). Also hope we'll see one day more cartridge types for rifles apart from soft points and polymer tips (say a 30-06 could fire a light quickly expanding varmint bullet but also a general purpose medium weight bullet all the way upwards of 14-15 gram / 220-240 grain bullets for larger game that is quite not possible anymore with say a 308Win), this would make different rifles more versatile like bows at the moment.

...and for the record, while I am glad Finland will feature in COTW, I am also sad that Sweden did not at this time (five year anniversary and all). A bit like the summer olympics of 1996 went to Atlanta instead of Athens

This map is gonna be full animal-wise. I know SRP has a habit of being too full, but honestly I don’t mind. It’s nice seeing animals roaming the map no matter where you go. I just hope they spread them out evenly so you are not seeing them here but not there, forcing you to hunt one area
And I am about to bring it up, but Hirsch has a habit of not being evenly spread out with its animals
There’s plenty there of course, I have no trouble finding them, but sometimes I will trek hundreds or even thousands of steps without seeing a track or hearing a call

I’m a duck hunter IRL and it is the best thing to have a retriever to go get the ducks unlike in game, you usually hunt in tiny areas with a few inches of water or you hunt on the deep sea and ducks do not float to you

Generally when things begin to say "coming soon" for DLC they come within that week. If it has a month timeframe it's longer.
Parque was "coming soon" it came 6 days after the trailer. Same with Yukon which was 4 days after the trailer

The biggest problem i have with the hunting experience overall is the hunting methods, its usually one of the 2, if you do it the way the game wants you to:
- Stalking, find the tracs, follow the tracs and shoot the animal. This type of hunting is extremely rare irl, yet its the go to method in cotw
- Luring, pretty much everything can be lured in cotw, even though for a lot of animals that would only work spring time, when hunting isnt allowed usually
I understand that currently the game doesnt have any real hunting dogs, dogs used as pointers, stoppers or chasers and thats why a lot of animals have a made up hunting method, as irl they almost always need a dog. For example pheasant and quail are 99% of time hunted with pointers, the 1% with luck. European hare is practically always hunted with a dog, yet in the game its being hunted by following warning thumps, which they dont do irl.
The animal behaviour is extremely predictable, for example ducks always fly this "placeholder type" of flying, which im sure will get improved at some point but it has been as bad for years now.
The game also doesnt understand the difference in ammunition which i will explain next

I always see “we want elephants” but it cant be in the game I feel due to it's current set up. Here is why I feel running around a map blasting elephants isn't going to be fun as they will be easily spotted being so big etc. So they would have to implement a system where you get a tag for a rogue dangerous male or something and that's the one you can shoot, otherwise it turns into an arcade shoot em up
