I mean, I was just guessing. So it could be that the trigger is doing mission 2, then the spawn happens for some other reason. Maybe you need to be out of a particular area for 20 hours and then it'll spawn in that area. Who knows.

Animals don't despawn unless you shoot them. So once it's on the map, I think it would stay there.
I would imagine the chance is the same for every player. Just the chance is very, very low.

I think people are missing the point that it's just supposed to be a bit of fun. Not something everyone is entitled to get just because they play the game.

If it was rng then why wouldn't they just come out and say it? Also they said its a new way of spawning though and current animals already rely on rng (such as when you first start a map). Im not saying your wrong, im just saying it would be incredibly lame and not make sense for them to hype it like this.

I think the idea is that it's supposed to be a very rare, Easter egg type thing. They don't intend for people to figure out the spawn mechanics and farm the haggis like grinders do with great ones.

It’s just a guess but I don’t think changing the time has any negative effect on spawning/finding a haggis. I think whatever it is that spawns it is likely something any average player could and would do by happenstance. And I don’t think something as simple and common as changing the time is going to cause the thing to not spawn or despawn.But again, these are just ideas, not facts.
Also, I think we may be overthinking the spawn mechanic. Just cause it’s new doesn’t mean it’s super weird or hard to do. The main thing is, this creature is rather small and as far as we know (I think) there will only ever be one on the map at a time. So they’re crazy hard to find.

i know another theory for it by one of the content creators for the game is that you also need to use the shotgun you get from the map. the spawn could be uber complicated but it also could be simple like you say but until we figure it out or someone looks in the game code we wont know

It is a class 2 creature. And it only has a big stomach. To find the wild haggis you need luck while roaming around the hills and perhabs you will lose some brain cells 😵‍💫

It's possible, I'd say with nearly 170 searching for them and sometimes 16 hours at a time that's probably not the case, then some have gotten them in 30 minutes.

I have been googling about the clock theory for Haggis and some stuff I am coming up with is I need to be at the Haunted Outpost that has the Grandfather clock. However it doesn’t have any clocks. Am I doing something wrong to try and find a Haggis? The only clocks I see are at the castle. Or is this theory a hoax? What does it mean to walk counterclockwise on the mountains? Like be in an area and work your way right to left around a valley?

there is no actual way to find a haggis as of yet

everything is theory. but for the most part what we’ve gathered is there is no specific set of actions you need to do or complete to get one. someone got one 2 hours on the map with no missions done.

essentially the most likely “spawn” mechanic, is RNG.

imo, something gives you a chance to get one, whether it be, fast traveling, or changing the time or something, but there is something in some way that has RNG chance to spawn a haggis

Something is up, I had me and my two friends, (we have been playing for three years minimum) and we each have good knowledge on the game, but we all have the haggis challenges complete just to make sure, and we have literally checked every single mountain on one of my friends map, and what I mean, checked, I mean, literally we would run around and just be shooting to see if we can scare anything, and literally I have shots of that he didn’t even know he was on his map, it’s effective, but we literally have spent at least a week trying to find it, not even one call or anything, and we have literally gone every mountain north of the river, so I don’t know if the mountains have anything to do with it, because we were thinking that if we found it, we can show it online and probably get some Youtubers to shout us out or something, but we seriously have checked every inch of the mat, and if they make tracks or not, we haven’t heard a single warning call or anything. We’ve literally placed down and blind to scare them out, early in the morning and stuff when we know they at least have a feed zone.

If you spot a drinking animal, you'll automatically have this specific Drink Zone marked on your Map.
It's also possible to run the shores during or shortly after an animals drink time, to detect their tracks from drinking there.
This will also mark the Drink Zone on your Map.

Depends tbh. If you are still seeing things to shoot, there's not really a need to reset using the main menu. The only reasons to main menu are if your rotations are faster than respawns (aka no shooters after a single run), if your respawns appear to be stuck (you've done multiple rotations and nothing new has shown up even after time changes), or if you're being really meticulous about swapping spawns between external/main zones or splitting for more extreme HM.

If I had to guess, probably because it's still something we don't know a lot about. It could also be the fact that some of the community doesn't believe its real, but that was from when there was about 20~ known harvested haggis, so things might have changed, but I doubt it

there’s a few things that can happen, i’ve had animals dissapear from the lodge in the past aswell, i think it’s from closing out the game improperly, but with the new UI update it can be quite confusing, you have to manually click on each trophy you want to manage, i accidentally deleted a bunch of trophies doing this myself because i didn’t realize what was happening.

if you look at the right image, no matter if i’m scrolling, the selected animals doesn’t change unless you click on the one you’re hovering over, so you can watch me delete several trophies here without realizing i was doing that instead of dismantling the multimount

Just realized that the Eurasian Woodcock doesn’t make the peeent or the meeep noise, in the game it’s just sounds from an American Woodcock, but it doesn’t really matter, but they just don’t make that noise, they sound like a normal bird look it up

So yeah

Fellow deer are a forest creature they really do not like open terrain you will only find them in the lowlands

As that is the only place that really has any tree cover worth talking about

Even in real life very unlikely to see them in the open grounds unless they’re feeding but very shortly they will return to the forest
