Actually you have a point, New Zealand stags are that big cause crossbreeding
as it currently stands iirc theyre based off an average between continental european stags of all populations
Also I would like to see a difference between natural red deer on maps like Hersh, Cautro and unnatural racks on New Zealand Argentina and Australia
They only crossbreed near the wapiti range, still get big stags elsewhere
Really? Why do stags get that big?
Game farms mainly. Grow them up and foreigners cime and shoot them
But also in the wild their numbers are high so more chance of getting big stags
Than in their native ranges
Oh neat
The hard to access areas can have some massive stags
after watching the images in Steam it kind of reminds me of A mixture of Te Awaroa and Parque Fernando the open spaces and purple flowers remind me of Parque
actually glad someone sees the te awaroa in it
also the Hills are very reminiscing of Parque
i see much more parque in it now that I'm saying it
Need some goats species on parque
GOAT? Yeah that's axis deer
And Pere David's Deer
Mouflon or some new species
A couple new species of waterfowl could be cool too (White-Cheeked Pintail, Black-Headed Duck, Andean Goose, etc.)
Squirrel
tree rat
No
So quick question what is y’all’s opinion on the new 12ga semi auto coming to the game
peak
Definitely some much needed waterfowl for parque because Argentina is like the capital of waterfowl hunting
i'm pretty excited for it. I love the Cacciatore so I have pretty high hopes for it
Probably gonna be the new best shotgun if it's 5 rounds or more
Also, what do yall think the three remaining new species are. We know one of them is another mustelid...
how come ive never heard that before
Think we'll see any form of driven hunting in this update?
I might have just domed a Whitetail in the head with slugs
Idk but you can hunt all kinds of waterfowl in Argentina because most fly south in the winter they also have good dove hunting
probably, depending on what gets added and whats in the different areas of the maps
Where they say there's 3
I really hope we do. Such a big part of Scotland's hunting tradition.
probably would be a good small map
They confirmed 5 new species. Two have been revealed already
theres badger, mink and pine martin
Do y'all think Badgers and minks are going to be class one or two?
Confirmed???
Badger 2 and Martin 1
And where did they say there's another mustelid
Badgers will prolly be class 2, Mink could go either way
martin isnt confirmed but they said theres another mustilid and thats all it could be
Vivi confirmed it earlier
presumed marten; only real option for the 3rd
otter is confirmed not to be on the map
Do you know when the new map is coming out I just started discord
December 13
I really hope for red grouse and pink-footed geese
dec 9th
Yeah I think it'll be Pine Marten or Stoat
Pine marten isnt confirmed, but #🦡︴cotw-scotland message there is another possible one. It could be marten, it could be otter
realistically not stoat
Any ideas of the new great one
Hope it's a Wild Boar or Roe Deer
They confirmed that Eurasian otters won't be on the map
There were people earlier saying, "there's no Badgers on the map!"
maybe goat
The boar look good now
Yeah that'd be cool too
otter could have done if we are being honest
Still need a class 1-9 great one though
I think the two non-mustelid new species will be Red Grouse and some sort of duck/goose
Or maybe Muntjac
POV:people saying there are no badgers:
Scotland leak!!!!!!
Northern shoveler🙏
Hopefully Red Grouse and a Partridge or Woodcock.
uh- well the discord prevented me from sending the gif
basically i was sending a far cry badger attack animation gif
There any squirrel in Scotland
I'd LOVE to see shoveler. I also want Pink-Footed Goose, White-Fronted Goose, Long-Tailed Duck, and Garganey
Yeah there are Red Squirrel in Scotland. Hoping they'll be on the map
muntjac dont really range up into scotland too much besides a few small groups but its possible
Then backfill them to every single map
That would be a good introduction specie to also allow gray and fox squirrels for future maps
Oh ok. Didn't know that lol. I was prolly thinking of the UK
Mallard but better
pine marten are climbers so maybe climbing animals like squirrel have a good chanve
When they showed the Mink in the water, I heard Wigeon (I think) in the background
yea idk current populations but it looks like theyre mostly focused in the southern uk
Is there gonna be a red deer pop reset
I still hope they do a date reveal trailer even tho the date was already revealed
Not that I know of
yea theres atleast a duck on the map
either mallard or wigeon
I'd honestly rather it be Wigeon than Mallard, although I'm kinda expecting both
It wasn't intended so I'm sure we'll get an official RDA next week
wigeon underrated
Is it just the red deer in general getting reworked and or is it the g1
wigeon hybrid is peak
I’m taking the old smoke pole to a pair Davis deer if there on this map
I'm not sure. More racks and furs would be awesome
g1 is probably also getting a rework but its not confirmed just implied
Ok thank you
Scotland is in the UK
I'd also love to see Highland Cattle, although they seem kinda unlikely
im going to main the hudzik hard when this comes out
Yeah ik. I meant England lol
That and the 303
they are just cattle tbf like literal livestock
wait they’re adding blowguns?
like shooting a lamb
Ah alright, you have no idea how many times I actually have to explain it to people lol 🤣
not that we know of
The UK is composed of Scotland, South Scotland, Extra South Scotland, and Northern Ireland
Yeah that is true
ok
This 🏴
I am doing a g1 grind for red deer do you know the average kill count
its completely rng
Soay Sheep would also be cool
no average
Yeah it's random
Ok thanks
New g1 confirmed
The g1 on the Scotland map is Nessie or a wild haggis
Ngl some of the Wood Duck rares kinda look like GO's lol
Like the Dilute Silver
Speaking of Woodies, I'd love to see apricot Wood Duck (new rare plumage) being added in the future
predictions for returning species
I’d say sika are fairly likely, they’re all over the UK
giant sikas in scot pls pls pls
I feel like they want to save them for an asia map, but I would prefer them to most of those species
Sikas yes we have those everywhere here but reindeers aren’t native here
they did have japan as one of the possible reserves in the future
and yeah reindeers are a reintroduced species I just would like more maps with them but yeah not likely
Yeah sadly there aren’t many wild ones and most are still in reserves but I hope to see the population of reindeer go up again like it was years ago
3 maps for sika isn’t a lot tbh
No yeah I agree I would like sika on more maps but im just tempering my expectations
making a scotland loudout rn should i go with hudzik or gandhare?
Gandhare
but consider this, its the only muzzleloader in the game
Never seen a Scottish hunter use a muzzleloader and I’m happy for that, we’d muck it up somehow lol
Sika without a doubt will be returning I can tell you that, there as numerious as red deer in the highlands.
If we can’t get drunk while hunting then it ain’t a true Scotland map
Man I’m too hyped for this, my own country in my fav game
pub on the new map confirmed?!
There would be a pub every few steps if it’s based near Glasgow 🤣
What is the easiest grind
Can’t go wrong with Rev WT or Te fallow
wolf
guys M1 or .303?
.303
303
.303

Didn’t know they were that prominent also have a bad feeling the map will have more class 1s
But I hope you’re right, rather have sika than pheasant
You know it being confirmed It being 12 returning species makes It tricky.
imagine irish elk g1
I'm almost wondering if boar are actually going to be present, I'm kind of leaning on the side of no.
whats a good class 1-3 shotgun?
Not having mallard on a map, or canadas when there techinally found In that region Is weird for COTW.
But Wigeon and teal are 100% much more scottish than mallards, lmo.
You forgot to add a haggis to that list
man surely feral highland cows is one of the new species
surely
Context on the wild boar regions.
Should I do TE or Hirsh to grind red deer…
Hope so
That'd be goated
There not overly prevelent.
yea they would be so cool to hunt
i dont know is there are many feral populations that are even hunted
There's no such thing as feral highland cows in the UK
I don’t think that’s accurate
It is... I live here.
probably muntjac sized populations in scotland
The highlighted area is where I live and I’ve never once seen one
You wont see boar honestly even If there about.
Agree that 12 returning species is kinda small, that’s when vivi made that mistake about 17 returning species I assumed stuff like mallard and Canada goose were a sure thing
I’ve seen them more commonly north though when I go to visit the grandparents
And just because BDS says there there does not mean there in high numbers either.
I know a bunch escaped inverness like two years ago? there's regular shooting of them up there now.
Haven’t been up there in a gid few year, I usually head up fort William way when I’m away out
Also context on the sika they'll be featured without a doubt.
Did you loose your account😭
100% I’m kinda hoping that’s the new great one
trick question, wait for Scotland to drop
jk do Te
@midnight valve Hey I have a question Im trying to figure out what the other possible new species are and since you live their I wanted to know your opinion
Toss em at me
I live there too
Also thinking about it since the map Is based on the hebrides I actually cannot see boar being in there at all.
I deleted it… yesterday was a bad day. Kinda given me a fresh start which I like
I think I will, still gonna shoot Wt for like 30 then I’ll start
Fallow might not be on there either.
WHY IS EVERYBODY FORGETTING MUNTJAC
Weird one but I kinda wanted crows to be added to Scotland
Because the closest muntjac population Is probably 600 miles down in england.
They’re abundant everywhere
@urban isle oh sorry your opinion will be good too
So no fallow or wild boar but instead mallard and Canada goose🫠
There doing a highland map they wont be featured.
Probably... honestly
They added Woodland Caribou to askiy, they can add Muntjac in the south parts of the map
No it’s good, I’m happy to give an opinion
One of the species I thought they might do is Eurasian beaver
Guys the nordin or the standberg?
are there ibex in scot?
No
Since they just did beaver
strandberg
I thought they would have done wildcats
Proof? I haven't seen the actual location mentioned
sads
Yeah I haven’t seen anything mention it being based off…anywhere in particular except Scotland
Swore I had seen it somewhere.
It’s likely a mix of Scottish habitat
They’re adding bison
Another species in wondering is pigeon because it popped up when I looked it Hunter species but I don't know if that would match the area of Scotland
It would be kind of unusual for them too be smack dab In the middle of the highlands for example when Its a real world land mark.
It’s likely like 3/4 biomes all combined
Could have very well took influence from all parts of Scotland
No it’s Elephant we are getting
This fs
Oh I dont disagree with you on that mel I think its gonna be a mix of all that's just how COTW does maps.
I dont really think boar got remodeled.
they looked completely the same too be in the game feeder pack.
Sucks that feral goats aren't remodeled
They 100000% did
A pidgeon? Highly doubt it, people just call those flying rats and they only really populate towns or cities
They look completely different
Like
Massively
Even just the fur colours
Yeahhhhh to be fair at least they aren’t one of the worst species in game
New leu😍 😍 😍 😍 😍
You gotta be trolling😭
Pigeons are some of the best hunting birds
They dont look any different, Its just the lighting.
This isn’t the one we are talking about
Different shot
This isn’t the right trailer
Yeah
It was like the 2/3 trailer thing
Idk if sol is just a troll or not
I’ll see if I can grab it hold on
"Scottish" but doesnt want a Scotland map?
I can have an opinion about my home country, no?
The snout looks a lot better on the renew boar
@midnight valve
See
It was the dev diary
Even the body shape is completely different
Much bigger back jump on the males
I really hope that does not mean the great one would be boar then.... but It likely will be unfortunate.
I’d love a GO boar
It will be cool I dont doubt it but It would make more sense for roe too be G1 on a Scottish map.
(considering red already have one)
Boar \o/
But I at least know roe deer G1 will come at some point regardless with it being a base game animal obviously.
red deer great one new furs and racks please
Boar would be cool but yeah roe deer seems more likely
.
I noticed the red deer had new improved trueracs.
That level 9 smol rack in the teaser Is different
No?
Or dual mallard and Canada goose G1
… like one g1 for the 2 species?
No we get two great ones like last year
Certinally looks different but I supose comparing images they look the same, I dont think we should toss that idea out though there's a pretty decent chance they've gotten the MD treatment.
Red deer have been neglected for years the big diamond rack looks great but otherwise there pretty lack lustre.
I dunno if they would add more great one varaints, good time to do so but I doubt(?)
Grate wan roe
That too fr
HOGZILLA
Hogzilla would be American
Are you hating on Scottish hogs
Youre definitely using mods
Are you calling them weak
Yes
AND PUNY
Us Americans are bigger and fatter
?
I have a question. What is this?
Plant
Scottish thistle
A thistle
Should’ve been a unicorn
Pointy little guys
I will be mad if there isn’t a unicorn Easter egg
My mom grows them in her bog planter
And nessie
Exactly
If they can add a wendigo Easter egg they can add a Nessie Easter egg
Kudos @glacial flame you immerse yourself in the community while also getting all the G1 Wolves. I'm impressed 😀😎
Speaking of, how do you rank your Wolf G1 furs from best-to-least??
Roe deer are quite fun, there really under represented in the game though.
Oh, okay. I understand!
And maybe even kilts
-# Clan Davidson
Thank you!
Tough question! I think gravehide and battlethorn are my top current ones I have!
A tartan camo for guns would be sick
I bet the cosmetic pack that ends up releasing eventually will be really nice.
Siberian roe are neat.
A new dog would have been cool there’s a decent amount of Scottish breeds to choose from
I missed this
Like a deerhound or a terrier for smaller game
Spaniels are probably the most common one I'm not quite sure if there's any that fit the niche, unless they wanted too add a coursing dog?
Coursing is banned but same idea as the Alberta caribou, only banned in the last 20 or so years so ehhhh not unreasonable.
I hope they do not add a coursing dog imo. There’s a reason that activity was made illegal
Indeed bad PR but looking at the UK as a whole shooting badgers Is also terrible PR as well lol.
Shooting something is hugely different
I dont disagree with that but badger groups are nuts too.
I dont really think there's really any more dogs they could add that would fill any niches there's a reason classic only has three.
About the only other logical one Is treeing hounds but that requires a lot of AI changes for various species.
-# flushing
Pointers do that
Does the pointer not do that?
I mean for burrows😭
I dont know if a terrier or ferret would be better.
Ferrets are def better for flushing rabbit burrows (although I supose were likely getting badger sets) but I dont know how they would work ferrets into the game.
Not like a dog that walks beside you obviously and It would feel a bit weird pulling a cage out your pack pocket with a ferret in it lol.
Not Frostbite? :(
(Im a big frostbite fan sorry)
It’s lovely but not my top one I don’t think in terms of fur
New map looks dope
Wonder what new animals will be there
Were there confirmations yet on any?
European Badger and American Mink
Mink sound extremely cool to hunt
#🦡︴cotw-scotland message and one other mustelid (pine marten probably)
Thanks man
Np!
💪
ok so there’s 3 new mustelids what would the other 2 new animals be
Red grouse will be one.
wood pigeon?
No clue what the 5th will be there's various different species it could be.
Pigeon Is a chance, same with woodcock... I guess wildcat... I guess? crows, etc.
I hope it's partridge and northern shoveler
No way the Devs have the heart to add feral Cats
To be completely honest
You know If it ends up being a Hebrides themed map Shoveler would make sense In techinal sense they've only got a season in NI but they obviously border each other.
Obviously Its COTW It wont be true Hebrides Its going too be southern, northern eastern and western In terms of landscape but It seems like with the Callanaish stones It seems like the oceaney portion Is gonna be western themed.
I wonder if there gonna go with southern highlands or southern lowlands though.
Where I live is vastly different than the highlands.
Dang
Pretty sure this is directly refering too Fingals cave as well.
Maybe Friday, tomorrow isn't likely
Yeah its just about the new map, its not like every video is abt grinding, but like 91% of them is
Scarecrow also makes sum video abt it
Squidster
A lot of creators really
When does this open for preorder on PlayStation? I only see it for preorder on Xbox
I gave it a watch😌
Yeah, I can see why she appeals to many.
If I had more time on my hands I could get doing a grind, but I play to relax😌
-# many kids
Yeah, most of the vids are like, grinding
Can be boring
Idk I feel like her videos can be helpful to people who want to set up their GO grinds
Naah, I'm busy doing my Masters
I mean yeah but some just play for fun
Yeah, that's why I said I can see the appeal.
I'm not one of those people is all😂
I also like her break down of new dlcs like when she tested the feeders.
Some people like ladylegend, some people don't. Some of those people are higher in age
I used too like a lot of CC's until almost all of them started grinding like crazy.
I'm not overly thrilled with flinter starting to grind a lot more either.
Oh😂
Yeah, I'm in my 30s
I'm a classic player mostly though so It makes more sense I enjoy content that feels a little(?) more rewarding a great one for the most part If you put the time In you can get one In under a week (Dont get me wrong I shot 9000 reds with none) some of the goals I have in classic I'm still working on five years later.
Mel is probably the most active in her own discord server, so she's my favorite. Some creators just feel like they interact just to maintain a quota
I do like mel, very nice person.
Which one is Mel?
We haven't talked much but she went out her way too add me on steam a while back I think more-so for the classic side but she hasnt played much recently.
we share a love of rare ducks on classic, so It goes hand in hand lol.
What goals in classic?
I have been after an albino duck for 5 years!!! bloody awful things.
One of the rarest spawning things the game has too offer.
Albino duck
Are there any limits to nontyps?
Kinda I dont think any have came close too the max score maybe besides whitetail
400+ mule would be a nice goal
a 371 was killed a while ago I think that's about the upper end for them, blacktail In theory can go into the 230s/240s mulies should get to the 490 mark.
Cheers fr fr
No way bros here
Hurts my wrist since I damaged it : (
490?
So peak🥹
Awe could you rebind things too keyboard controls?
Could be an otter. I know they arent hunted in Scotland, but neither are Snow Leopards .
I can understand that though mouse use on COTW is a lot less than It is classic.
I might have to try something
It was confirmed earlier to be the Haggis
I use controller
Hmm I forgot about that does classic work with controller or was the issue you were playing with keyboard/mouse?
Unfortunately Classic doesn’t and yeah it’s hard trying to do the keys
Controller I can do mostly one handed at this point
Blacktail remodel when?
I'm pretty sure there's programs out there that can rebind inputs too controllers for games that dont support it, I know Avery mentioned recently on the forums If someone needs to break TOS for accessibility, Its fine (in theory)
Ooo interesting
Not like it would modify classics controls anyways since It would be external (in theory) but you might be able to find a program too get it too work.
I’ll look into it fr
Gr8rspy(?) however Its spelt in the discord would probably know more, I know he's did classic on a controller before.
I wish it was the other way around too. My ps5 controller broke so I cant play until its fixed, despite having a keyboard and mouse😮💨
Ah yeah COTW on console and sorts does not have any mouse or keyboard imputs set up doesn't it? It sucks its still like that.
That’s a WT
i think asky ridge is the best reserve, it will be difficult to beat, scotland could be a good adition
i think they are adding elephants to scotland
I'm hoping for euro bison
scotland reserve should have an agartha reference

or fae stuff
the teaser showed off amazing environmental design so im very happy
fae would be cool for missions
Brother what
heya Mel, excited for the badgers?
im hyped for badgers
theyre so fluffy
we need another cave in the game and its just the entrance to agartha
amazing way to introduce mythical scottish folklore
Isn't agartha supposed to be something racist?
I keep seeing it used as a racist dogwhistle
traditional meaning
The blond hair blues eyes crowd took it over
ah yeah that makes sense…
however, neofascists have weaponized it recently as a mythical obsession over the true aryans or whatever
blahblahblah more random crazoid crap that I just ignore
yeah my suggestion was a joke anyway but damn
Why do facists ruin everything
That crowd is so annoying. They want to take everything from other cultures and pretend its theirs
i know it from csgo videos with sped up down under by men at work 😭
its what they do
yall know what im talking about right?
Sort of😭
its some weird ass meme rn
anyways back to my idea of the fae being cool for missions in this reserve
Thank you thank you thank you is all I hear
Being abducted by fae would be hilarious
Acceptable map I reckon
(notice reference someone pls)
Rule 3😭
i didnt know if that would even count 😭
Idk, but it might
excited for badgers?
Mussels? I have a picture but the mods dont want me to post it
Has to have a lid I heard
Yesss I wanna see the rares!!!!
saaaammeeeee
i wanna know what albinos look like
-# white fur
LOL
some albinos look really soft though, others are sheer white
by soft i mean like. they have pinkish undertones (which makes sense because skin)
lmfaaoo
Excited to see what the other 3 animals are
They eat these along with the mussel🥲
Arch nemesis of British kettle farmers
british people farm kettles?!??!
How do you think we have beef??
Oh I spelt it wrong 😭😭🥀🥀
LMAO
Dead ass I’m cooked
i wasl ike "what are they talking about"
Kinda surprised they ended up going with a shotgun for this map
i guess the idea is Scotland's long tradition of fowl hunting
first semi-auto 12GA I think?
alright guys i heard that European badgers are gonna be added to the game
just wanted to say that i love badgers
and im gonna go to general again
badge
cant wait to hunt them all
its gonna be great
I feel like a semi 12 would be more typical of a duck themed US map
Maybe it’s a small game focused map
sxs o/u are definitely more typical Scottish shotguns
Ohhhh interesting
thats true, y'all usually use breakguns
idk maybe they just wanted a semi-12 in the game
True probably
I was hoping for 222 there was also a decent opertunity there for a new 270
I think we still have the one in the game?
yeah we have the base game .270
honestly might make use of the .223 on the scotland map
since it could take a reasonable amount of the game on it
.223 is less common, but it definitely is still used.
About 13-14 hours ago we shot a red deer with it a 222 brought it down within a minute
It's a fun little calibre.
nice
Not exactly legal with the setup we're running but after the bullet weight deduction is near enough the same.
Were using like 54's need 80s in 222 (not sure if you can actually go that high) but the energy requirement is well above the requirement
I know things like the 22-250 is red legal now.
were probably gonna get a red deer great one remodel right? it only makes sense
i would assume it gets a remodel just like the base species
just not new furs or racks
well ï feel like because we got a great one in between updates and not with the new map and red deer are already getting re worked it would make sense for the great one to with new furs and racks
i doubt it
they've said in the past that something like that would mean it takes up time from making new GOs
and we already know we're getting a new GO so i feel like reds are out of luck for new furs and racks
yea but with this one it’s more simple because they already have the base animal, it’s not designing a new animal it’s reworking the furs and such
Cant wait to see more examples of erythrism in the game!!
oh ok
shame
i'm not gonna say it's entirely impossible just feel like it's highly unlikely
ok
Is the thing in the trailer not an otter? looks very different to the mink
not an otter
it's a mink
EW confirmed no otters with this map
Funny looking mink, could just be the angle though
I hadn't seen any of your content before @glacial flame just watched your video about the new map and I'm sold! Great video and you have 1 new subscriber🫡
I will probably be sticking to breakguns myself.
I don't know why, but I prefer them even in real life
Is the .222 not superseded by the .223 now?
probably
.222 maxes out in the 50s .223 can push into the 80s. (although I imagine uncommon) I think stuff like 22-250 or .22 creed Is much more common if people are intentionally wanting a small calibre for reds.
But like If a .222 can take a hind down within a single shot at 130yrds and blow through shoulder no problem I dont really care what the specifications are the Scottish laws are wildly out dated anyways. (30-30 Isnt allowed, even on roe because It cant reach the speed required)
The old minimum effectively used to be .243 the fact they dropped that bullet weight (used to be a 100gr) I dont really care If its a .222/.223/22 Creed/22-250 all of them are going to preform near identically at that point.
Only thing the .222 would suffer with is the smaller bullet wont cary energy as long..... but if your attempting too shoot a red at 250yrds your doing something really wrong anyways.
A Dutch map would be cool. Around the Veluwe. With species like red deer, mouflons, European bisons, red foxes, gray wolves, roe deers, wild boars, Mandarin ducks, fallow deer, and badgers and al that things maybe cranes and Eagles and Ravens. I would love to see it
But the new map looks so cool to
Would be a bit of a disappointment if they dont add ring necks to the map
Would be a nice time for pheasant too get a touch up.
I imagine they will be there, pheasant shooting is huge here.
They need to make flocks more present
I rarely see them
I only see pairs of pheasants or just a solo
Woulden't it be cool?
Ye i keep sayin that
Ur also prob dutch right
Veluwe is cool but we donthave alot of huntin opportunities except that
alps maybe
They shld add pigeons too
That work something like geese, land on fields and migrate
A Dutch map with eagles where halve the animals listed don't even live there
Pigeons are already in game.
Lots of them.
You can shoot them on Salzwiesen.
Great for training accuracy.
Everyone should go there more often and shoot all the pigeons.
Clay pigeons that is.
You are free to think what you want but im not interested much, they should focus on many other locations
Hi janny
Yo kiwi guy!
Keeping out of mischief?
doing my best not to get banned
same, holding myself to not say “when scotland”
dec 9
They do i live there
there are no bison in the netherlands for example
Yes i am
And a bit more but you could fill it with around 15 species
There
Are
At multiple places
Kootwijkerzand, Maashorst, Zuid kennemerduinland. And two more but i dont know the name
And cranes sounds weird but they are here
Thank you so so much!! 🖤
A few handfulls of breeding pairs but tens of thousands migrate through there
Yes, this is a rated G discord
I dont want to get banned to only i want to get heard for the Dutch community
I was quite disappointed with em
this is SO real, i live in the countryside and i hear pheasants ALL the time and there are pheasant shoots multiple times per season because theyre so abundant here. i dont live in scotland but i know its the same anywhere else in the uk LOL
those are not wild tho
Forgot im literally going on a pheasant hunt this saturday
They are wild but they are held captive in a restricted area.
you get my point
eagles just arent game species
i havent been on a hunt and in all honesty im not a fan of the people around me that do. i spoke about it the other day when talking about fox hunting near me. sadly the farmers who hunt by me do NOT follow laws but despite asking police to intervene multiple times nothing is changed… really pointless rant sorry im sure ur great ❤️ 😭
the dutch landscape isnt super interesting and many species would be just repeats or some new ducks
Yes but it would be good to get a remaster and another hunting reserve were you have it
THANK YOU!!!!!
Thats right
isnt the netherlands the flattest country in europe?
Yes but that is elevated especially in the south veluwe
if european bison id much rather have them in eastern europe or the caucasus
point still stands its flat ay eff 😭
man i understand wanting to get your home country but i reallly dont think the netherlands would be that good
But its really wavy in that part
i dont want england but id ratherr have england or france then the netherlands
And you have sand drifts and heaths
i would love england but there is no point there is nothing here. im glad they chose scotland because they at least have a bit extra wildlife and much more interesting land
And a few new species
And i mean salszweizen park is flat too
Its not that different only we would have alot more big game
You could also add Highland Scottish cows bc they are there
why do people want to shoot domestic cattle so bad
i think they want to expand a bit, i think a lot of whats already been done in europe is done. we have flat. we have hilly. we have mountains. we have cold. we have warm. 90% of the species i can think of are already in game too
yeah, they are domestic
Yh but they are wild there free roaming
its like wanting to shoot dairy cows
No no its not that
free roaming does not mean wild
it is!!
They are wild
no they are not
is there highland cow hunts?
you gotta fact check yourself there
in the wild?
Do you love there?
Idk
do you??
Actually yes
Live
they aren't wild or feral
It isn't free roaming
they're grazing on farm fields
Its wild
No
do you know what wild means
I do
do you think highland cows are naturally occuring
okay. so not wild
And now they are wild there
They attack ppl
you're talking about "feral"
Feral then
But my point is that i would like a Dutch map
I dont want any discussions.
xD xD
But they don't belong to somebody there
I get it
But it could have cool things that you guys haven't seen.
u know what could also have cool things i havent seen?
asian maps. south american maps. african maps.
i know theyre a lot harder for the dev team to do so i get it
Rather then a Dutch map.
But bc i am dutch i would want a Dutch map to
Thats it and i love the Veluwe
i wouldnt complain if there were, i just wouldnt be overly excited as i europe and NA are getting a bit tiring now
more than one tightly knit europe in a row would be tiring
just googled it this is incredibly wrong
But like in five years if we got a few asian and African maps and maybe south America maps it could be cool.
they are all owned by farmers or are under conservation groups
there are no wild nor major feral groups of highland cows there apparently
They belong to Staatsbosbeheer but every animal there belongs to them but that doesn't mean they aren't wild or feral.
You haven't search correctly then
ohh my god dude just hold the L
this is not true, if they are owned and managed they are neither fully wild and literally cannot be feral as they are OWNED AND CONTROLLED
The numbers are controlled of every animal in the Netherlands
i dont doubt there are a few flocks that have gotten loose, but there is no abundance
Aside from wolves
we're trying to fruitlessly describe to you why people should not act shocked when EW doesn't add your neighbors golden retriever as a huntable species
100-200 feral ones trust me
that is… very few…
Its not that you have people that have them as pets a friend of mine does but. There are feral ones roaming there
okay man we'll see i guess
would rather have woodcock or any other variety of wild, traditionally hunted animals
is this ragebaiting or pure ignorance
If we get woodcock we HAVE to get the meep sfx
not exactly psyched to shoot escaped chickens
It's fell grazing, there not feral
-# Two things can be true at once
what i said
It isn't ragebaiting trust me
i tried telling him they're owned by people but he doesn't listen lmao
you need to take a lesson in debating classes then my dude because this is tragic im sorry
Are you in scotland - or scottish by chance?
America has more than us
I do listen but i live there and there are feral Highland cows
they want highland cows in a dutch map…
idk whats going on but i seen reccomending a dutch map and nearly burst out laughing
Ik dutch
The English stole them all
You've sent them abroad to placate the world with those incessantly cute faces, 100% the answer
did you doorknock for their owners
Ah okay okay
Not even just once better cows came along and the winters got mild there wasn't a need
And murder multiple dogs and dog owners with those horns 😄
look just because i see cows in a field in the wild they are not feral. there are probably feral dairy cows in scotland that doesnt mean they should be added to a hunting game 😭
Okay ty for your feedback ig
Mate, there's feral cows all around me here. They're just wandering around in the fields! /s
To be fair - if you get flattened by a cow, more often than not you were doing a stupid in the cows proximity
Oh 100%
Like 'I wanna go pet the calf of that giant cow with massive horns! It's so fluffy!'
I think most cows are just like Angus crosses.
They aren't in fields its in NATURE.
i was gonna make a point by comparing this to asking for a texan map and wanting to """"hunt""""" longhorn but there are people that want that too
theres only like 25 cows in scotland considered feral, the rest are just free roaming heilan coos
It's like people having thei dogs off leash, and the dogs run at horses out for a hack and the dog owner screams about the horses being a danger..
Like yeah okay, my horse didn't cave your dogs skull in so leash it and faff off
So thats cattle to then but then you actually dont have feral longhorns.
bring food to placate mom and interest the bab
is said nature a reserve of some kind by any chance?
Your talking about a fell, it's thousands of acres of rough ground the cows are owned still.
What even is extensive grazing?
A national reserve
A fell.... Cows graze it, thousands of acres.
Waaaait, the argument is that the cows are wild/feral cos they're in a nature reserve to manage the grassland ?
No
-# I'm not sure if I wanna keep watching this or go back to grinding
-# grinding is safer, ngl
I dont know how to describe it good to you guys but they are feral.
guys i cant do this save me tyk time me out before i get myself banned istg 😭
WHERE
I work in this area for a living - I can assure you that they are not feral
how long bb
there are only 25-40 animals considered Feral cattle in Scotland. the rest are free roaming owned cattle. please be quiet
Were do you work then
30 minutes i need to do smth in person i am just so enraged i cant leave 😭
the area.
okay, gotchu
All over the country
This isen't about scotland
dont doxx people thijmen
I ain't doxing
you just asked someone where they live and work lmfao
Now, feral Scots in Scotland, that's a different question
But i'll stop talking
can you just explain to me the fun in shooting an animal you can walk right up to
Shh wait
proofs in this chat, im right here RAAAAAH👹
ok ok answer tyk not me
You just said this isnt about Scotland -
Yes
So are you talking abotu another map etc? If the answer is yes
please PLEASE go make a post about it, illustrate it with your points
Yes that i would like to see.
and lets try to keep this convvo about Scotland map and what we think it would be
Alright
that is, afterall, why we are in the Scotland Chat
Funny enough I have a large highland cattle operation close too me that graze on a fell.... Thousands of acres apparently there feral so I suppose I will go shoot them 🤣
But i just wanted to get my point. And ppl exploded about Highland cows
Scotland chat? Never heard of it
Haha
i just dont see the hype
Once your post is made you can bring it up in gen chat and people can respectfully(!!) engage with it - no dbaggery etc.
tyk you are a saint
K
Hear me out - you make them nice and peaceful animals that people can walk up to, then they play the tiger roar and they kill you
live right across from a cow field, they look at me funny. time to harvey oswald them out my window ig
But what would ya'll like to see in a SCOTTISH MAP
thijmen i apologize for my rudeness
no problem
lets be friendly ok 🫂
Me to
Dbaggery is heresy
Peace on earth👐🏻
Lots of new animals
I would of liked too see woodcock, moorhen, Pink-footed goose
Which animals?
Anything new, idc
Jackdaws, and wood pigeon too.
Okay
Unfortunately I think there too niche for the 5th
Solaire goes hard tbh
is there only one unannounced new species?
badger, mink and..?
A few we dont know yet
if theres no duke of wellington statue with his wee cone hat on Torr Nan Sithean whats even the point
that's all i recall
Only Badger and Mink we know
No and yes, if they don't do red grouse there doing something wrong
lol
It's kind of safe too assume it's one of the new species
what if they just do it dirty and call it returning and use the willow
Right, be nice if there were new large species too
...Does Scotland have much in the way of 'large'?
The women maybe?
(othe than the EU Bog Standard)
If they rename them too reds for the map and consider them willows? Not mad at all, they at one point were classed as a subspecies.
so the 5 new animals must be badgers, mink, red grouse and two others
We could hunt the loch ness monster, that is large
true but aren't red grouse smaller? i hope they at least downsize em
hopefully woodcock and some kind of waterfowl
I believe there bigger
Sigma woodcock truther i apologize. I just wanted to be heard yk cuz i like my country and especially that bit. So i just wanted to say it. It weren't my intention to start a while discussion about it.
would eider be possible?
i knew there was something about size i jus didnt know which way round lol
We could hunt IRS members
they've got me ig?
Nvm that's COD
yes but i havent seen them personally
Google has them set at 600, willows 800 but truthfully I wouldn't take those weight estimates
pintail could return
(while its relatively peaceful in here , I am gonna go do my grass touch community service)
I know
There will be individuals with different sizes
i have seen alot of eurasian coots for a supposedly rare bird to see in scotland
😭
Coastal or something, no?
100% been 1kg red grouse before
Coots? Lol
yup and much more north than i am
theyre so pretty
Coots exist, but moorhen are there prettier cousin
I like the skeletal look of coot feet
Are there woodcock in Scotland?
both are cool but i prefer the white beak of the coot
Sigh...why so serious?
like those old halloween nylon gloves with fake bones glued on
Moorhen are decently common too.
Looks like a pukeko
Hundreds of thousands
i'm like 99.9% sure lol. they're not the most popular from what i can tell but i definitely want them
you could backfill em a few places too
Wood..what?
Damn
Woodcock
girl be calm
I get it there so cool
meep bird
in Fife i heard they've got this one pretty special wild animal
the Heroinious Junkius
Sounds like splinters to me
Woodcock in my area of game bird shooting are probably the most saught after bird.
I'm not sure who came up with these names
America has woodcock too.
And it's always birds
You guys recon something interesting will happen with feral goats, it seemed like a bit of a spotlight or more attention than I’d expect
the popular one near me is unfortunately hand reared brain dead pheasants. god i hate the posh game keepers.
Add a smell to the billys
woodcock map
they raise them to be so aloof that they have absolutely no urgency to move from danger other than the noise of the beaters
Despicable
When you come within 5m of one you catch a scent and you you leave a trail that scares off other animals except female feral goats or smth lol
Once one smells a billy they never forget
They have cute Halloween feet
For some reason urinating on themselves is attractive to females
Its all the horrormones
i actually need to look into getting my gun license and certifications so i can hunt. theres not much online about the rules surrounding getting my license but not owning the rifle, mostly tells you that safe storage of your rifles is required before even applying and why do i need safe storage if im not going to purchase one? i just want to use rentals
many such cases in ungulates
moose do the same
They're strange animals
Won't disagree
~~ Might try this out ~~
oh so when HE does it its attractive
Honestly I do beating the difference between hand fed birds too feeder fed birds with minimal hands on is pretty negiable.
The issue is ex-layers that are released at the start of a drive however.
How unfair
im truthing out so hard rn
i am going to be sorely disappointed in the weeks to come
Your required too buy a rifle if you want too hold a firearm license, you can't just get a licence in that type of circumstance.
Adios amigoes
Cya brotha
I really want highland cows or feral sheep but I know it won’t happen
ah i see, they are just pretty thick birds then😂the amount of pheasant guts we've had to remove from cars over the years is INSANE they just stand in the way
You can shoot a rifle right this second if your over 17 with no license long as your shooting with a certificate owner, though what sounds like what your after.
It's commonly refered too as the estate rifle law.
i thought that was true! i really should be going to more people actually knowledgeable on the subject because its getting increasingly difficult to find whats allowed and what isn't online
Stalking directory isn't bad for questions I admit it's a good website.
i have money for a stag hunt, just not enough for a rifle to accompany me
eider hen and woodcock spot the difference
i'll check it out later on cheers
But if you just want to go out and target shoot with someone, or book a guided stalk with someone just buy BASC insurance and book in with someone.
Insurance isn't even required but it's just a sensible thing too have really.
Get hired in the south of England when they finally do their Fallow deer cull and stop trying to get rich Saudi princes to 'buy' the permits to cull
Actually getting a firearm license is tedious unless you want too become a club shooter your required too have land prior too your application too be granted.
If you want too target shoot and move onto animals you'll have to actually send in for a certificate variation and ask for your ticket too include recreational hunting of deer and vermin.
What some forces don't like doing.
You'll probably have too do several guided stalks, your DSC1/DSC2, food handling as well (not in a mean way) for a nobody too be granted a license.
It's crap here.
Having someone you know that shoots and holds a license boosts your chances significantly too an almost unfair advantage.
Not too mention I think today theres a poll going too parelement too make shotgun ownership as strict as rifle owner ship, fun times for the UK!
(right now shotguns are a right, you need basically no reason to own one)
does this ever cause issues? i know here in america with almost every type of gun being a fundamental right there are definitely consequences to that sort of thing
but that's rifles and handguns
Sometimes? Like, shotguns can still be used for bad but too aquire your license you still need to be cleared by your doc and sorts
i see
obviously at the end of the day any weapon can be used to kill but of course there's harm reduction to be done
It's a right in the sense your application can't be refused for a non valid reason but it still follows the same restrictions as a rifle cabinate required, background check and sorts
Only majoring differing things with shotgun owner ship any age can apply, there's a borrower law (can hold someone's for 3 days) and cartridges don't need to be stored in safes
i'm 23, finally my own man and would still be absolutely murdered by my parents if i didn't get myself insured for absolutely anything that has something to insure 😆i'll def be getting insurance for a hunt
also thats mental about shotguns, they're going to keep stripping more and more of our gun rights as time goes on. when was the last you even really heard of a shotgun murder here? its few n far between these days as far as public news goes
yeah it's similar here only for a massively larger array of weapons
varying by state ofc
here gun control or lack thereof is clearly a massive issue and shootings are basically what we're known for now so im always curious about the situation in other countries
I'm not actually sure on the law exactly but overall the culture with shotguns seems different too I've been handed a shotgun and I'm like miles away from the owner with no certificate.
Rifle the furthest I've been is 300-400 yards and tbf that's pushing it
But same time there's only so many people you can take deer stalking sometimes staying back is sensible
one of my old friends i no longer speak to used to just be handed shotguns while out beating, she had no licensing no prior experience handling weapons, the owner of the shotgun was in another country at the time. it seems incredibly lax
Pretty much, especially on a pheasant shoot like you might be miles from the guns owner but your usually no more than 100yrds from a certificate owner lmo.
how much actual meat can you get off a pheasant?
A decent bit, the legs are filled with boney tendons though
small chicken
the only ones I ever saw were raised for competition at fair - so they had a 'standard' body to maintain
the only time i ever handled a firearm was down south when i was 7 on the estate my uncle used to live on, i wasnt even strong enough to disengage safety or pull the bolt back lol
i was a little noodle armed child back then
now im a noodle armed adult
I shot a roe on Monday and as I was going too shoot my shooting sticks snapped at the top
Had to roll a pebble too rest the rifle on lmao
modern problems require modern solutions
biggest pain of my life surrounding hunting is my dominant eye and dominant arm is my left hand side, but my left shoulder might genuinely crumble to pieces from any kind of recoil
The 222 I use there has no kick
its held together by hopes n dreams after all my injuries
time to learn how to be ambidextrous
oooooo thats a pretty rifle

its odd though, im left hand dominant but i cant play a left hand guitar to save my life
I just want my yarn
You have a silencer? How is it, good?
man i love roe deer
I wonder how the remodel will look on the red deer with the piebald pattern
underrated little fellas
