Well you try to find areas that are good for hunting and find every single zone of that animal on the map then you shoot them down everywhere where you don't want to hunt them, to level 5/4, 3 or 1 depending on species, just as small as possible this will cause the game to spawn more big animals

If you drive this to the extreme you can get diamonds about every 10 kills

Takes a lot of patience tho

Some people say that the diamond likelyhood is linked to great one spawns and thus more diamonds means quicker g1s, take this with a grain of salt

It definitely means better ST odds and it can make grinding quicker as it allows you to only hunt your best zones, this isn't always neccesarryly needed tho

So there's a lack of big animals so more big animals spawn

And you want those zones where you shoot the big animals to be the zones that you don't want to grind

You can also keep Max levels on the map to make it easier to get small animals to spawn

anyone able to provide some input? im grinding on askiy for muley, i have access to all my lakes and ive picked 9 zones to be my mains. in 2 of my main zones i have 3 probable diamonds im stacking, and the other 7 mains i have 3/4's which is fine. i thought i shot down 10 other entire lakes and im coming back just out of curiosity and 3/4's are respawning. im 500 ish kills in to this grind. my understanding of herd management is you are able to get all of your exterior zones shot down to low weight 2's and you can grind your mains after that but im lost now that random 3/4's are spawning in the herds of what i thought to be shot down exterior zones. do i just not understand herd management and am shooting the wrong bucks in my rotations or is this just part of the process and im gonna have to shoot until it settles?

Whats wrong is your probably shooting solos that apart of herds from what we've found so far askiy mule deer solos can bounce across the entire map lakes I've not touched in hours having fives suddenly pop into them.

Your only real option is shooting them until they bounce too exteriors as small deer It should eventually happen but god, Its tedious and really screws your grinds when you think your initial zones have 5+ bucks, but 500+ kills in there suddenly one.

Yeah, that happens with any herd grind, really. Likely what’s happening. It’s just solos that were hiding in herds and when you shot them out of the herds (probably in your mains) they respawned there. You will have to keep checking your exteriors for bouncers regularly until everything is properly HM’d. Just part of the process

It does remove all smell! I’ve tested this extensively and seen it used, if an animal spooks when you’re using scent eliminator it is 100% always because something else spooked them
Whether that’s another animal or the hunters visibility/noise level

I swear by scent eliminator. Taken so many shots that would have been impossible without
It’s only necessary if you’re super up close though, or wind is blowing in their direction and you’re under ~200yds
