Yeah I have a camper in the Appalachian mountains and it’s beautiful up there

but to further elaborate on the preference points imagine in a given unit there's 150 total pronghorn licenses and preference points max at 4. priority goes from most points to least. assume 15 people have 4 points, 20 have 3, 30 have 2, and 40 have 1, making for 105 total people with points. All those 105 people will get a license, and the remaining 45 licenses will be distributed randomly to remaining 100 people who have applied and have zero points.

This also applies to it if saw, the total number of people with points is more than the number of licenses then the random raffling includes the people with the lowest number of points. So say there like 150 people with 1 point in the same scenario the remaining tags are randomly given to people with 1 point with a few folks with 0 points also being eligible.

It of course varies season to season cause a given unit doesnt automatically have the same number of hunters with points all the time and points reset after successfully drawing a tag
