They tried a change in ai behaviour I see and the point was to make the birds act more real and it worked somewhat. But they do seem to get stuck. To be honest this is also really realistic as you can scare a bird so it just tucks down in the shrubs and refuses to come out.

what a thoughtful comment. before i give my opinion, ill state facts. ew knew exactly how the pheasants reacted when fast traveling to them, as they stated their fleeing mechanic prior to the update. therefore they didnt change it to make them run more realistically, they changed it to make it harder to grind due to our success we showed. they knew this change would affect 99% of the grinders, and did it intentionally. if anyone denys this, they are just a grind hater in denial.

So here is some of my take on this, while I don't grind a lot I do agree it can be annoying when you want to min max a grind but this isn't the first time they've done this stuff. The first big annoying change was when they altered the spook radius for as long as they did, which did eventually get reduced back down a bit. I'm more saying this because that change was made as a result of the massive amount of grinding going on and while grinding itself isn't a bad thing in my book it is something that EW to me has consistently tried to alter over the years as it's happened more, but some of the changes they make do get reversed so there is still hope.

My thing is if you do a full tiger run it still takes longer than 15 minutes irl so by the time your last tiger is harvested it should be more than enough time for the others to start respawning the next round assuming you are actually going through all the zones and maximizing the total number of potential respawns (yes this only applies to tiger and not pheasants but it's still relevant because they are still very easy to grind)

Tigers are a pain in the ass to hunt but once you get the hang of it and hopefully don’t spook any off it’s not terrible

but now they spook and flush from the player or dog approaching at 180-200 meters

which is about twice as far away as any pheasant i've ever seen go alert and try to fly or hide IRL

hell half the time when they hunker down IRL you step on the things before they kick up

thats mostly in thick reeds or unharvested grain but point withstanding

Well they'll likely go back n do another hotfix at somepoint. This always happens when a new patch gets dropped it affects the coding n they have to go bk to the lab n redue the formula as it were. Hopefully the FE 300 will get reclassed where it should be in the near future like the Gandhare was in the process.

Can I say that I legitimately hate these birds? Like, I grew up in TN with fields of these little monsters everywhere. If you were out for a walk, trying to fish, hike, stalking an animal didn't matter. They hold totally still until you were like 3 feet away and then blow up with with like 10 to 12 birds going everywhere it would spook every deer or turkey within 200 yards. Ruffed grouse were the same but they stayed in the woods where you lose sight of the deer in an instant
