Different species have different max lvls. Easiest way to find diamonds is hunt animals at drink time, you can search the whole population that way

I neither fish nor hunt, but I feel like the immersion is different. Fishing, the goal is just being outside, watching nature slowly go by at its own pace, and maybe you'll catch a fish. Hunting, it's more about stalking an animal, taking a good shot, and getting meat or a trophy as the bonus.

I tried it 6 months ago but felt similar. They've added a lot of accessibility and improvements since. It's cross platform so I can play and compete with my brother. It has same sense of achievement when collecting golds and diamonds but very much more relaxed. The key is opening up the whole map so you have whatever option of fishing whenever it takes your fancy. The graphics and details are superb though.
