I shoot basically any male of any species of 4 to 9 that I see, sometimes I want to hunt something specially and I'll roam the map looking for them but still shoot any male I see, just in case rng wants to bless me with a respawned big boy. I have tripods and stuff set up on drink zones and I'll randomly pop up during those times to shoot the big boys but I play a hunch of different ways to keep it interesting. stalking, killing at need zones, etc. keeps it fun for me

Its actually advised to shoot level 6+ (if max is 9) or 3+ (if max is 5) for better chances of big boys to spawn

shoot shotgun with bird shot to scare crocs

also spawn at tent at start of game then hunt magpie geese

ideally i think magpie geese should just land. they would still land irl some would get gobbled up but they wouldnt be looking for crocs 😁

lol crocs will run at you, but just hipfire a shot anywhere at all and they'll stop, think about their life for a second and then turn and run like it was all a prank, just like kangaroos. one shot and they bolt. you can even just run around an aggressive croc and it will flee from noise. I did it that when I didn't want to scare something I was hunting. the only thing that doesn't seem to quit is wolves on Yukon

Australia is a really beautiful map, you can tell how much love the developers put into it. it's easily my favorite now

and the aggression is quite rare, like 1 in 10 of those animals you encounter goes aggressive. maybe 2

Maybe it’s just me but I feel like the worst part about current SRP is the mountain lions. They are a pain in my rear. They always run around chasing everything. Makes it really annoying to hunt in the huge area of the map that those pests inhabit

Yeah their old feed zones were actually fun to hunt. Now more then half of my mountain goats are at the base of the main mountain and on the mountain way bottom left of the map which is covered in so many trees that it makes hirsch look open. If they were still in two fawns ( where mountain goat outpost is ) and were mainly on top of the main mountain then they would be fun.

Everyone that bitches about drink zones don't realize how hard it is to get trophies without hunting drink zones and without restarting your save or anything else once I go through my initial population that takes hours to do I have to go through it five more times to hopefully get a decent trophy

Now it takes me 30 hours to get a diamond

And hell forget getting a rare

All of us love hunting and all methods but we don't have the hundreds of hours to spend to get things the ways that's not the fastest and most efficient

Drink zones don't need to be removed or nerfed or stuff like that other things need to actually be as good as they are or change the entire game itself to be different

You go ask those people and they're going to tell you yeah it sucks hunting drink zones but we have no other option we ruin a single feed zone now we have to spend the next 3 hours trying to find it again trying to find one as good we ruin our drink zone it's going to be at the same place just different by 100 or 2 m

From somebody that hunts birds a holy hell of a lot I can tell you trying to grind feed and rest zones for a species that covers the entire map is borderline impossible and ruins the experience and the happiness and the love of hunting so much because you can't never find anything or you spend half the night to kill five animals to then spend another half of the night and never find what those came back as

I think missions are bugged as heck, I shot one roo for kangaroo management with a scope at 191 meters, then it's mate ran at me so I figured good time to get the no scope within 25 meters checked off, so I popped it off and killed the one that squared up and it finished that one for me, then I put my scope back on and went and picked up the long shot one and it finished the no scope at 125 meters objective. I didn't do that at all lol

Theres a zone on the far north-east and the delta t the east about halfway down,. There's also a good spot off the east coat where the river splits. Look for the areas with tiny islands / pools. Shoot all crocs in the area before settling in to Magpie hunt. They don't like to land with salties in the area.

I've been hunting Banteng on the section near the cost from the very bottom lake on the eastern side north to the swap. No salties, but I haven't noticed any geese, either. Great for Banteng, though.

I always shoot their lungs when they're on land. as for magpie, AFAIK there isn't one. they share territory with crocs. strats people toss around is murder all the crocs and leave their bodies so they don't respawn and you can hunt your magpie. I've only encountered one group of magpie in the coast inlet area that was eating undisturbed by crocs

it has nothing at all to do with the map. I've only been trolled by crocs on that map. have a diamond rusa, and diamond bantengs, every level 5 I found made diamond. Haven't spent too much time on the map but all max levels I've come across have made diamond aside from them shitty crocs and with crocs, EVERY max level I've found has trolled me lol

I'll tell you a story about my first diamond. It won't be too long, but I set up a grind for it since I hadn't seen a diamond in 850 or so harvests, I grinded mountain lions on SRP, set up the usual stuff, tent, tripod and started fast traveling lake to lake. find my first ever legendary and shoot his ass. super excited I got my first diamond. homie trolled me at 38.99, they need 39 to make diamond. almost quit playing on the spot but later got my diamond through tracking an unknown size down, saw him flee, never saw his size except through his tracks, followed old ass tracks for 45 minutes. then finally spotted him and was super happy I didn't waste time tracking a mythical. point is, luck is luck. shit happens. keep playing. you'll find your diamonds.
