Yes, but I'd personally use a gun in the 7-9 class range, if you carry one (so the .300 or .338), or one of the single-shoots that go from 4-9 or 5-9 (7mm, Drilling)

Click E and it should highlight blood where you shot it. If it was a good lung/double lung there should be a lot of blood otherwise if you somehow missed all the organs it probably got away

Elephants are protected world-wide.
Animals which are prohibited from hunting, as well as critically endangered animals are not going to be added anymore. I say anymore because the European Bison is most certainly forbidden to be hunted, at least in Germany, where Hirschfelden is supposed to be located (we also only have a few animals in the country).

A second African map would be awesome, and there's lots of unique animals which could be added, but Elephants aren't one of them

Banteng, while they are endangered in their home range, are invasive pests in Australia, which is how the devs were able to make it work.

There's still lots of possible maps which are exciting and would bring new stuff to the table. As I said a second African map, as well as a new map in the Arctic circle (Canada?) would be my next whishes (Australia being one that was granted recently)

I kinda wanna limit myself to only 1 shot. I'm shooting at lakes. Typically anything over 350 meters I have a hard time hitting accurately.
I have my tripods set to the right distance so if they heard gun shot they don't bolt off.
A second shot though they will run. That's why 1 shot is preferred because I have multiple groups in one area. I just wanna know if the 308 hits harder than the 7mm

The animal should have a number on it.
And the ammo should have a number as well. If the ammo matches the number on the animal you know you can use it.

The trophy system works by rng. Sometimes your shooting effects the ratting. Sometimes it's how much the animal weighs, the size of their rack. All these things factor into the rating.

If you look at my fox I shot if you look at it closely you'll see all but one of the symbols are blue.

The one symbol with the heart means it's not shot in an vital organ....

In your case it's ammo if you look at the fox details to the left youll see the class

The fox is a class 2 so it needs class 2 ammo to properly kill it right.

If you don't pass all of the necessary symbols you could mess up your trophy rating.....

This is why diamonds can be golds....
And golds silvers
And silvers bronze....

Rares for Fallow are Melanistic (all black), Albino (all white with pink nose) and Piebald (spotted brown and white) which there are two versions I have seen.

(Have not really got to hunt crocs due to Data Corruption on Playstation keeping me off EC) But from what I have seen, they are on the coast on the right side of the map, in the rivers close to the coast. I think they should be out at almost any time, but go at day because they are hostile and can mob you.

Well base game I would say I found Hirschfelden to be the best money maker for me. And the map feels alot more open due to fields.

Ok I'll try to explain it the best way I can.

-Herd management-
1st find your zones on the animal you're hunting. Drinking zones are generally better because more groups will be available to shoot since they generally go to the Same area where as feed zones they are spread out.

2. Set up your tripods roughly 250 meters away from drink zones as the animals will not scare away when you shoot from 250 meters. This allows you to take multiple shots from the tripod without scaring animals.
   But if you fire more than once within 10 seconds I've noticed animals do spook within that distance.... so if I have more than one drink zone nearby I don't fire more than once per zone.

3. Tents set your tent around 250 meters from any drink zone. This enables you to properly have enough distance between you and the animals to render in correctly.

4. Choose your favorite zones and zones you don't want to shoot at. A good start I'd say on starting off is 3 to 4 zones. 3 zones you shoot and 1 zone you put your low levels on.

5. Stacking is when you choose not to kill high levels so lower levels have a better chance at respawning in places where you don't want to shoot as much.
   At your bad drink zone.
   This allows higher levels to have a better chance at respawning higher at your good drink zones.
