Nah I left the server a few hours ago, there was nothing on that server, it was revontuli though and I got host when a few people left, almost all of it was empty but the top lake slash swamp area in the top right hand corner of the map, and that’s were I found him , I got suspicious and looked around more but found nothing, and I have the entire map looked over and still didn’t find anything, but I never looked at the ducks or geese.

I mean for having fun you gotta understand it’s grinding it’s not really meant to be the most enjoyable aspect of the game. It can be if you find it fun but most of the time a way to enjoy it better would be YouTube/movies/shows/ podcast/music while playing

Guns most people use a high caliber weapon for non trophies (like a .300) and then use a weapon that is the right caliber for trophies (like .308)

Setup is kinda different depending on how you grind. Very rare for someone to have the same setup as you for any grind except bb. If you do HM then you’re gonna set up and do things differently then someone who’s not doing hm or is maybe doing light hm or what I call natural hm.

am i safe to shoot down whitetail zones with single females and multiple males? Silly question probably, but i remember vaguely reading something about zones that are worth staying away from

So long as you leave at least 2 animals in the zone you should be fine. If it’s a zone with one female and like 3 males only shoot 2 of the males at a time and don’t shoot anything else from the zone until the 2 you shot spawn back. Once you get a level 1 to spawn back just leave him and treat him like a female. At that point you can just treat the zone like any other 2 male 2 female zone and just shoot the last 2 over and over until they’re shot down. If there’s more than 4 be careful because there might be multiple herds in the same zone and you don’t want to accidentally overkill a herd. Whitetail zones with huge single herds tend to slowly dwindle down over time so those can be annoying.

if i have a moose zone with 3 animals, 2 bulls and 1 cow and i shot both bulls (by accident, there was another solo cow and i tought she is a part of the herd) what exactly happens with the males? they obv didnt respawn there so idk

From my experience they kinda just chill out in limbo from what I can tell. I’ve done this a few times and when it’s happened the male obviously don’t respawn in that zone but I’ve also never found any new zones they’ve made at the time. It’s seems like they get stuck in some kind of respawn pool for a while until the game randomly spits them out in some other zone somewhere on the map. When this happens I tend to just get rid of the herd and check around for a new zone after a bit of time. If I’m being honest I’m not entirely sure what goes on with them in that scenario but it’s just my best guess from my experience. I’ve had just some weird experiences of new moose herds just popping up in some random spot when I haven’t had any moose disappear in thousands of kills and I wonder if it’s some of those “stuck” moose finally getting unstuck after forever. My best advice is just to be REALLY careful not to let it happen often because it’s a royal pain to deal with later and moose are already a bit finicky early on into a grind.

You’re probably fine to just ignore it for now. You can shoot it if you want in hopes of getting the herd to pop up in a new zone but that’s up to you. Something I always recommend people do for any grind really but moose especially, keep checking around for new zones. It’s also worth checking zones you haven’t checked in a while just to make sure that no stragglers pop up there. If you’re on medved and aren’t already aware be sure to check the hidden lakes since they’re where a lot of missing moose end up.

i will ignore her for now, and yes, I am in Medved. I ve done a few rotations (I am managing my herds at the moment) and I am getting respawns pretty consistent so far, but I will take into account what you’ve said and I will go once in a while to check for new zones

and yea i ve been to the hidden lakes, only one had 3 zones, 2 of those are worth managing, the rest of zones from the hidden lakes are solo females

It’s always good to check occasionally during the managing down process. Unfortunately this isn’t super helpful but after you’ve managed for a bit check areas that you’ve never had moose zones. Moose can drink quite literally anywhere and while no individual map will have moose in all the possible locations animals that break off or are solo are more likely to create a new zone than move to an already existing one. Granted animals do tend to stay in the same region of the map but they can make crazy jumps and bla bla you get my point lol. I’m just jabbering on at this point so I’ll just leave you to it. If you’ve got any more questions in the future don’t hesitate to ask. With over 15k moose kills I’ve become quite intimately familiar with them at the cost of some sanity lmao.

That can happen. You can confirm it by checking the group size and counting that many does in the group.

If you ever shoot a zone down to a single animal the zone will effectively die and no new animals will respawn back into it. I’m not sure if that’s what you did but that’s what it sounds like. Regardless if animals disappear from a zone and you don’t see them back after a few time resets then they’ve likely moved somewhere else and you’ll just have to check around.
