They had originally intended to add it, but when people pointed out that it simply wouldn’t make any sense at all they decided better to remove it and think of a better path forward

I mean is it a little disappointing? Yeah, sure. But should we also try and see why they made the decision? Absolutely yes. When we look at the reasoning behind the decision I think many people will understand what happened and why it isn’t a bad thing

The only thing that really worries me is that it was said that they wanted to add specifically blacktail deer to another map. There isn’t another map where blacktail deer fit geographically 100%. Blacktail are pretty exclusive to the Pacific Northwest and the only map we have that fits the bill is Layton. Some people (myself included) initially suggested adding them to Yukon because there are blacktail in Alaska which is obviously where Yukon is. The problem with that is that the blacktail located in Alaska are Sitka blacktail where the ones we have in game are Colombian blacktail. The other issue is that the area of Alaska that Yukon is located is actually void of any blacktail deer and is actually home to mule deer. Since blacktail are a subspecies of mule deer they don’t really tend to mix in the wild. You can find the two deer located near each other, but the area in which they overlap is very small.
