Went out my front this morning to check for post, and noticed this pigion sulking in the rain just a meter away... he must've been one of the owned flock pigions from a local house.. he was way too comfey with me that close to be a wild or feral.. still my garden has a perficly good tree behinde him, why it didnt use it for at least wind shelter beats me . They do, though ive never seen one, my vally is not home to any deer, not much of anything up here in the bracken hills, not even seen pheasants or game birds, foxes ive seen with rabbits, but not anything else of huntable game... besides the odd lost grey squirral...

the only larger animals ive ever seen in my vally slopes are feral farm sheep and we're not allowed to hunt those, wouldnt recogmend them for eating anyway, Apollo knowns what sickness festers within their matted wooly hides.. 🐑
we can't even drink the local running waters due to the contamination of heavy metals from the old mineshafts and slag build mountains, and the risk of wheels deisease "carryed by rats" is a noted risk

it was the very heart of the uk coal and steel back in the industral period, and played a huge roll for the uk and america in terms of surpplyed coal and steel during ww2, those days ofc are long gone, and with no mines remaining its been wales mission to restore its nature and beutuy and the once grey slag hills and rivers of soot are now one of the greenest landscapes in north europe with 80% of the land now being restored and protected as natural presevation.. we even have our worlds unique celtic rainforest..
some say it is home to unicorns... 😋

Soo walking my Corgi to my local feeder stream to the river Taff.. decided to pick through the shale fir nice pieces of quartz.. then a question occured to me... why is wales so rich in quartz..? We have so much of it, most footsteps on exposed stone puts your feet on some.. once when i was a kid, a welsh beach was closed due to a storm erroding the cliff and rose quartz bolders the size of arm chairs tumbled onto the beach making a spectical.. but why is there so much here? I'm studying in biology to become a wolf expert. My dream career location would be Yellowstone. Me & my family had planned another trip to YNP in 2020, but with the closure of the Canadian-US Border, we had to cancel our trip which is quite sad. It takes us about 3 days to reach Yellowstone by car. I think you live in Australia. There are some magnificient nature locations there including Kakadu !

@weak talon lol actualy i live in one of the poorest communites in the uk, my town is pretty much a welsh slum, with poor quailety mining houses of over 200 years old.. often like my own falling apart, without decent working heating or water... half my power cerkits don't even work and ive no working hot water at all.. and ive only last summer moved in... the age old history of my welsh vally is deep, with important events from the miners riots leading the the worlds first minium wage, to its industral period during the world wars, feedeing both the uk and america with coal and steel for their navy's and so on.. but now the industry is history and the towns got nothing to give other than its surrounding vallys that once black with soot and piled with slag.. now has healed into a feature of beautey and increasingly so... though the scarrs still remain under its soils surface,.. now wales is becomeing a leading europien going green nature rebuilding machine, my own vally is just dragging its heels somewhat as its overly enclosed population.. are both old and set in their ways, or to inbredly stupid to make a intellegent change.. but thats slowly changing as the population becomes increasinlg mixed from the lands outside..

today i woke to a surprise, for a massive fog bank had settled and remained all day thick over my whole vally, in need of food i set of downhill to iceland below, but loven a good grey day took the country lane route down past my local park lake, and boy did i get a joy of photo surprise, for the lake was dressed in the beutey of grey, and thick in a silk of mist... and though my phone was low on battery could not resist my only chances for photography... 😁
but even better was the surprise of the geese normal irratable to those to close, were just fed, and were for the first time content enough for me to get within an arms length for a unquie photo shoot i could only dream finaly comming true... seriosly i tired for years to get this close but failed.. check these lovely buggers out..
and dont forget the other mascarate of ducks and inland gulls..

but on the way back heavy with my foodstuffs, the plenty of songbirds would still not hold for the camira desipte being but feet all around, until one brave robin red brest stopped to let me foot by foot step close enough to almost touch it, poseing for me till last second.. its the rarest treat of all.. shame i could not capture the buzzard that too flew low but meters near my head, but you can't catch them all, maybe nexttime 🏴 😍

yeah you are right it is.. looking it up i found out more via the wildlife trust, they've been spreading through britain since 1971, and this female is likly come to my local lake to hold up for the winter, though as a fish eater i doubt she'll find enough food there, the minnows are long gone, and the only brown trout are barly any bigger, and ive not seen any in there in a good while, so lets hope she can find enough till spring.. all the same i'm dam happy to see a new breed on my local waters.. always my vallys nature slowly improves.. and little by little the poor housing does too, when the uncommon flatlander moves in with enough money to rebuild one.. through tbh i'll be dammed if i'm going to grow old here, my furture lies beyond it, cos i sure arn't going to find a good life here, let alone love.. 😆

Putting out more rabbit Compost in the garden, found the local robins waiting for me.. so i put some wheat seeds ontop of one of the old hutches.. and it can down straight to feed.. though this one didn't like the phone click very much.. still when it comes to birds none are as brave as these little robins.. unless their doves.. but then their pure stupidity.. 😏

Yay for today was a trubluent but speciacl day.. for its Conkie's and I's first anervesary 😄 and the day since that day one year ago when i opened a box and came face to face with my best freind for the first time.. my highly intelligent, walking and kiss licking anti deppressant has made this all unbearable last year survivable... returning home each day hurt and missirable only to be healed just enough by his love alone 🥰 🦊 my speiacal boy is the pulling lead for my feet to go forward even when the path is covered in ice and thorns.. he takes me outside to breath the better air.. and giving the needed face burying hug when my eyes hurt with anger and depression.. so give it up for Conker a disability hero.. 💚

hey guys while me and Conker took my little sister on our speacil day walk to feed to geese and ducks..... and inland gulls.. i finaly got a close up photo moment of a mytery duck that appears at the lake from time to time as a reguler visiter.. "ethier that or it lives there and i just don't see it.. 😅 but none one i know has been able to identiey it.. even my british book of birds doesn't feature it.. and from what i can tell looking at it.. i beileve its some kind of large feral meat duck.."almost as big as the geese" ethier escaped or abondoind there for the last 3 years.. and now i have a photo can anyone here help me identify what it is?

My late xmas pessie arrived today.. and im overjoyed with what i got.. the other halves of my own hunting kit, to go with their weaponstand i got for my last birthday.. mum had to sell kittens to pay debts.. so happy she used some of the spare to give me these.. i can almost hear them in my hopes for next spring.. 🙏

well if you compare these "base"fish charts btween the 1st pic American fish, and second pic Uk fish, you can see the difference between our fishing styles.. most us fish are active and preditery.. making lures more viable.. yet our uk fish are mostly members of the carp family.. with trout and salmon traditional fished with the fly rod.. though we do use lures for some,.. most prediter anglers would use a dead bait for the Wels cats/zander/eel/pike.. and corse fishing methoids for all the rest.. though trout are suckers for a maggot/marshmallows and other surprises on a float. even bread..

😆 you think their strong.. carp are stupidly powerful and smart too.. americans think little of them but they won't be laughing when their rod is ripped from it stand and into the water.. or suddenly snaps in half apon hook up.. uk carp have grow to record size and move with rod breaking speed ..and being inteligent they make for a realy tricky hard won catch from a water containing veteran angler wary carp who know how to win against anglers.. our uk even has teh world records of well over 100lb in weight.. some carp fisherys even hold famous o'l timers of the carp elite. any body can fish for trout and stalk pike... but to be a Carp angler.. requires experience and a method brain of tackle knowlage and aqueculture as complicated as rocket science..

then ameican carp are nothing like the euro or uk carp.. our carp fight like crazy and can snap the rod and lines of the inexperianced. and more veteran carp know how to fight back agasint anglers and have a layout of their own lake, so learn quiet places to hide and relax and know where to dive into snags to unhook and snag themselves.. our carp are realy inteligent.. they even learn our angleing times and when to turn off and on to feed.. so you got be get cunning for them on elite lakes where carp grow real smart..

well the giant Muskie pike are only naitive to canada and america.. not eurpope let alone the uk.. for us its only the Northen pike which is the worlds most widespred freshwater fish in the northen hemispheir.. they can get big in the uk too,, not as big of coarse but in ireland their great lakelands are famed not only for larger than avarage bream, but also Monster pike.. and the fish of 1000 casts here in the Uk and wales is the Sea trout... a famously tricky fish to catch during their annual migration inland to breed..

Current trying to vibe away my worries in FP as i came home earlier to discover two of bunnys got out a opened hutch door "looks at Conker" and poor Foxglove my faverate, named after her rare in lops black fox pattern, has been injurged with a lower spine injury or slipped disk, likly caused by kicking and flaying when chased by Conker when she got out.. desabling her left leg completely.. being trained to help with rabbits i very much doubt he ment to hurt her.. but unable to pay the vet bill for the vaule of her health.. and with vet doors locked except for "worthy" animal emergancys, the only cure i can give now is time.. so bringing a spare hutch indoors and isolating her from other bunnys who could risk injuring further.. i can only keep watch and hope she recovers in time... in not ...then she'll have to be put down... i'd be gutted by her loss as a breeder and her freind.. i can only hope she gets better.. 😔

Breeding them is one of my hobbies as well as providing petshop stock of some of the best homebred rabbits in my local area.. mum breeds persion cats of such quailty she had buyers travel all the from london and pay hundres for just one of her kittens each.. i may only get £12 per rabbit as a mere provider.. but i love my bunnies and hope to one day expand on my breeding to a better busness.. right now they dont pay even their own bills but it shouldnt matter.. money means very little to me..

Checking the Rabbits this morning, discoverd a fresh nest.. and more ti my delight.. newborns that were still alive.. but born in winter the season is cold.. and worse Bluebell nested them in the worst place in the double hutch . At the bottom of the stairs.. but moving them to early would only cause Bluebell to ethier abondon them or kill them.. and with uncaringly clumsy heavy Taffy still around and with two does already injured by his randynous.. isloation was the only answear.. so closing off the hutch's upperfloor to the younger couple with Bluebell and nest downstairs.. i'm putting Taffy into a sepeate house for a while.. luckely i had a single bunny dorm still outside.. though it'll take hours in the rain to cleanout then dissnfect with pink chemical to purge it of any Hemoragic containation.. then refill and house it up for him.. its not even feb yet and its alreay cold as frost.. but at least i've a spare shelder for him outside.. left with the exposed nest will only get the kittens crushed.. and Bluebell could use a break from the ever persistant and heavy Taffy.. all my does could.. so i' think i'll overwinter him alone for a while.

U guys lucky the lastime I seen snow at my house was in 2014 and ever since then it's just a little bit of ice or snow flakes falling but they dont stick to the ground

my moose plush is a Hansa, and about as tall as above my knee, but his kind can vary.. Hansa even make a version of him that is Actual Lifesize.. mum wanted too get that one originaly but thinking about it it would have never have even fit it's head "without antleters" through my little front door or hallway .. and even if i sawed it to peaices to get it in.. where would i have put it.. 😆 so mum surprised me with one i can stand on a table.. or counter.. still rebuilding my house atm... though its suffering setbacks.. "kitchen ceiling colasping ... guttering falling off in a storm breaking my home net... etc.. the list still grows each month.. 😅

Dawn at from my mums backdoor, theres perks to livin up high, even though its work to walk to the top.. but floods run downhill and the rain comes horizontal.. but those crisp mornings with the sunrise veiw aglow... coffee in hand and only your heart to fill your mind and say.. good day or bad ..i'll take it all on.. 😌

Conker and me enjoyed another day of snow, with long walks with the family, gatherd countryside litter and rescued crazy early spawn frogspawn from the frost that was out of the water in the snow.. with siblings snowball fighting and making a din that echoed through the Vally Silent with snow.. memorys yet made to keep 😁 🦊

walking Conker with more of his off lease training, stumbled apon some bird remains on the path side, inspecting it and its feathers which intreged me to ask what it could be for its long feathers were a dark brown banded with black stripes... so taken a photo to ask and share... was just about to leave as conker was waiting for me.. when suddenly my eyes fell onto a nature treasure, which is rarest to find in celtic and wiccan accesserys .or even mordern rituals.. a hawk skull and it was mostly intact.. taken it home and managing not to break it.. i'll keep it as a collect among my other nature collects, acorns, dryed fungi, various tree leaves and posionous yew bark.. etc.. my brother would be so jelly when i show him what i have got, once i have it cleaned ofc.. but i still wonder what Uk hawk is it, Buzzard i'm guessing its the largest hawk we have along side the red kite perhaps another brit here can tell?
