As far as I can tell, there isn’t really a “best time” apart from “can you see the pheasants relatively easily?”

I have a HyperX Pulsefire mouse with 11 buttons on it (the standard left-click, right-click and scroll click, plus 5 side buttons and the scroll wheel clicks left and right) but Call of the Wild will only recognize two of the side buttons, like most mice only have 2 side buttons. Yes, for example if COTW is not recognizing the thumb button and you want to use it for the map. Open your mouse software, and for your thumb button assign the letter m, or whatever key you use in game.

I'm pretty sure when I tried that before, the HyperX software doesn't allow for setting the buttons to letters, only other keyboard functions like Home and Pageup, things like that

This oen has profiles but they're not useful if the customization isn't there. You can't reverse scroll on the mouse I have so that down is up and vice versa, but you can on other HyperX mice

And this is the only one they offer with more than 4-5 buttons (it has 11) so you'd think it would have even more thorough customization than their others but it just doesn't.

yes, you can do it on Multiplayer, as to where you want to hunt, that’s up to you, I would recommend Spreeberg, Rathenfeldt, Schonfeldt, Petershain, Müllerwald and Ritterstein to start with since the right side of the map is easier to hunt than the left. The more you hunt the more experienced you get, and in my opinion experience is key for hunting Hirschfelden. Good Luck!

For starters I recommend hunting the petershain fields as well as other fields during fallow and roe deer feed times as most of the land is open field allowing for better visual, but you could always hunt drink times on the lakes just as well

I also recommend picking up the COTW companion app from the app store as it's very useful as a new player to know when certain need zones are for certain animals

Hey, it's been a few years since I last played and I saw that they did some changes to weapon classes/integrity. Are there still background checks that affects your integrity, like letting it bleed out instead of killing it on the spot, or are those 4 checkmarks (right caliber, vital shot, etc.) the only things affecting your rating now?

Those four checks are the only thing that affect integrity

Quick kill and consecutive harvests used to count, now they only affect how much cash and xp you receive

Btw, not every animal has a trophy organ. All class 1 animals, for instance, as well as raccoons and alligators

On those animals, the “intact trophy organ” check is passed automatically

the gators not having a trophy organ is to allow you to brain shot them, which, IRL, is actually a recommended tactic to deal with them. In-game, it’s not that much different. Gators are very rough animals for their class, so a brain or neck shot is what you need if you wanna bring them down quickly, especially if you want them to die before they dive to the bottom of the river and end up drowning and being gone forever

hide in a bush/tripod/blind/treestand, make sure the wind is good and use the caller. I would highly recommend using your discovered zones on the map, that can help a lot for finding them.

Hello there i recently found COTW in the Xbox game pass and just wanted to try a hunting game once.
Now im playing it for few days and i got to say "damn thats relaxing"
But as i dont got experience with hunting games or hunting in real life im not so experienced where to shoot on which animals. So far im only playing in layton lake. I try to hit the lung for the most times. But if im to close or too far i kinda miss it

If you don't have one of te better scopes yet, that will help accuracy greatly. Once you have enough rifle points and cash. Also are you using the .270? get Polymer Tip bullets when you can

I would focus more on the smaller and medium size animals like Blacktail, whitetail, coyote, roe deer, etc

Ideal place to shoost them is a lung shot, which is roughly the front half of the torso

The crease between the shoulder and torso is ideal

And if you have polymer tip bullets available, use them

You get them straight out of the store and 100% free you just have to buy ammo and the ammo is already unlocked as well so you can be lvl one and use the 308 as long as you have enough money to buy a box of bullets

A few are “better”, but not strictly necessary with the exception of a .22 rifle (which you can get from either weapon pack 1, Mississippi Acres Preserve, or the modern rifle pack)

A .22 rifle is a must for hunting almost anything class 1

Can someone give me advice about benefits? Im only using rifles so far but still not so sure what would be best to choose.

those "purple spots" are hunting pressure, which is created when an animal dies. hunting pressure only goes away when it is created elsewhere, and enough pressure on a certain area will delete any need zones there.

For example let's say that i am hunting a bear and i don't have the caller unlocked. I get a shot on the bear, it flees and then everytime i am trying to track him it runs away. (i am crouching all this time and the direction in which the wind blows is not directed to the bear) am i doing something wrong ?

When I first started, I always made sure I took a good shot that would kill, since when they don't die and run away, sometimes you can follow them all over the map.

I really got tired of chasing animals all over the map, since I'm the type that if I hit it, I feel obligated to finish it off.

If I had to chase, I'd give the animal time to get back into the "calm" state, as they are easier to approach then. Callers don't work when they are alert and nervous. Same thing applies though... Sound, Smell, Sight, which sounds like you are doing.
