Yes, they are, but also resting helps more respawns occur. Try killing 20-30 of an animal. You will HAVE to rest.

I’ve been wanting to get my handgun score up so I can get the scope and 454. I’m using the 22 on geese, when I call them in, they fly directly over me and all of the sudden become alert. Is that because of too much hunting pressure or using the call too much? Also, if the geese are “defensive” will they not come into a call or decoys?

I’ve always shot them when they got on the ground. Just sometimes when I’m calling them in, they come directly overtop and will fly away. Or they’re 100-200 yards out and won’t come in to the call

diamonds can spawn literally anywhere, so naturally you should be searching everywhere

tho a few species tend to hang out in specific areas

for instance, water buffalo, like their name implies, tend to hang out near water. you'll mostly find them on the eastern third of the map

I did this mission a couple months ago. I had a fallow drink zone on the coastline. Try walking the coastline during their drink time and see if you can find a zone there.

Hello, I have a question - I've shot over 1000 quails in the meantime and I'm wondering whether there really are albino quails - whether it's worth the effort. I haven't found even an albino quail anywhere ( for example reddit or steam community)... either they're pretty damn rare (yes i know they are with under 0.1% chance i heard it) or just a myth - have any of you seen a white quail in game?

It took me over 2 months of doign that mission and nothing else to finish it. It isn't easy if the gods aren't smiling at you. IIRC, look at the small lakes in the NE for Puma; the small one that looks like a mushroom in the SE for buffalo; the large and small together in the central-south which have a narrow strip of land between them for the mule deer; the small lake, away from the outpost in the far north west for the red deer; the large lake that has a sort of pac-man shape for the axis deer (stand on the spike on the west side and shoot at the drinking zone on the eastern bank); I'm missing one but I can't remember what it is

and no, i found golds turned up in various places - i just used the rest as practice to be able to hit the heart dependably

from memory you need a level 7 or above to be sure it's a gold

i think level 6 could be gold in theory, but 7s and up to be sure

otherwise, just keep checking the rivers - shooting the other males in theory helps improve chances of getting a gold to spawn

it varies a lot, sometimes the flocks right after each other and sometimes it takes 30min, and everything in between, but the average is probably every 5-15mins.

it wouldn’t affect the scores, the DLC might help you get more geese, but they are a bit broken at the moment, I’d say the DLC might help get slightly more geese, but it sounds like you’ve gotten a bunch of geese by doing what you are currently doing, it’s up to you if you want to try the DLC or not, it certainly sounds like you have gotten the hang of it without it though so you wouldn’t really need it that much.

Ok, try starting your game, travel to Hopes Camp. When the pop up message says you are at the right location ( can’t remember exactly what it says ), walk towards where the tracks start, but take a picture of the camp. See if that does the mission. If not, move slowly towards where the footprints start, take a picture every couple of steps. That might trigger the mission being done.

I found that I had to have the photo on a certain angle showing the footprints for it to trigger the mission as done

Hi all, I've been having quite a good time with this game up until very recently, I'm about 15hrs in and I have been going through the story without much trouble until I got to this Coyote hunting mission in Cheelah (harvest 2). I play games to have fun, but this mission I have spent days on so far and it just isn't fun any longer. I spent ages looking online for tips but nothing is working. I've tried all different methods, locations and times. Probably 6 hours now on this mission alone.

Any tricks that anyone could share? I've even tried the feed areas during the times but not seen one.

Yeah, that sucks because your stats and trophys doesn't transfer, but you can however rewrite savefiles from Xbox to Steam, and it actually somewhat works (not completely yet) but it takes alot of time. You could download a file manager on Xbox and see if you have any savefiles/cloud savefiles stored somewhere that the game can't access that you could extract.

I don't have any hard numbers, but for bow I can usually separate out individuals by 50-70ish yards and they wont spook from the bow. Great way to quietly work through cape herds as they travel past, or slowly call in a herd piece by piece without making the stragglers run off.

My first choice would be SRP, for the Bison and mountain lions. Then Cuatro for the money and the red deer. .30-06 and 7mm is what i used for a long time

with minie balls, the two rifles would overlap completely, but it would make sense for some maps

if there's no class 9 animals (i.e. buffalo, bison, and lions), you can use the muzzleloader to take down the bigger animals (i.e. bears, moose), while the .30-06 would work on medium-sized animals like whitetails, pumas, red deer, etc

COTW has persistent animal populations. the animals will not change until you (or someone else) kill them

and those animals always use the same set of zones

map coverage is more important imo

explore as much of the map as possible to see what animals are out there

Of course the weight plays a role - i have never seen a turkey under 10kg or a pheasant under 2.70kg as a diamond.
